Heard great things about this place so we went. I had the breaded tenderloin sandwich and it was outstanding along with their fries. My husband had the steak and asparagus. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. The OWNER alone is reason enough to entirely avoid the Mason Inn! Her behavior is consistently rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Before you even consider going here, take a minute to read the one-star reviews. You'll notice a clear pattern: many people are saying the exact same thing about the owner's behavior. That's not a coincidence -- it's her ongoing reputation. Watching her sit at the bar while customers are left standing and waiting says everything you need to know about how this place is run. The service was good but that's where the good ends. The place is extremely noisy and to make it worse a person playing bag pipes which were excruciating came in. Anyway there were 4 of us and 3 of us had the tenderloin which was mediocre at best and the fries which cost $5 were the pits we mentioned this to the waitress that the fries were lousy and she agreed but wouldn't take them off the bill even though we didn't eat them read more

I'm so glad we found Mason's Inn last year. This restaurant is packed with local patrons and everyone knows everyone, or so it seems. Street parking is available as well as a lot behind the restaurant. The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms with the large bar directly ahead as you enter. Bar seating was limited when we were here and 4-top tables in both rooms. We arrived when there was a wait which turned into approximately an hour. Names aren't taken so you just need to remember the order of arrival. We met a great couple while in line and ended up having a fun evening together. I never look at the menu because they have great dinner specials written on a chalkboard by the bar. We were told the dinner specials are usually ready around 5p. Drink specials are listed at the end of the bar. The menu offers Appetizers (Hot Crab & Shrimp Dip), Salads, Wraps, Sandwiches (Turkey Melt or Hot Club), 8 oz. Sirloin, Pork Tenderloin or the extremely popular 14" Pizzas and Calzones. They offer daily dinner specials M-F with drink specials Mon -Sun. and Carryout is highly used here. The atmosphere is warm, casual and friendly but it is very loud. A fun spot for grabbing a drink or dining with friends. All 4 of us had one of the dinner specials. One had the tender Pork Chops with baked potato and broccoli, another had the Fish Filet. The third had the tender Ribeye with just a tini bit of fat. Great looking steak served with a house salad and baked potato. I had the Smoked Ahi-Tuna, lightly seared, served on a bed of rice and topped with a delicious sauce. It came with two sides, a perfect baked potato and a fresh house salad with blue cheese for me. Everyone was extremely happy with their dinner selection. Don't overlook the dinner specials! We need to dine here more often. We always enjoy the friendly servers, the great food and the lively atmosphere. We even made new friends tonight. Stop in. Went to Mason Inn with friends for an early dinner on a Thursday evening. Even at 5 PM, it was getting crowded. Service was excellent. Food was hot, fresh and plentiful. Wonderful dinner salad and I really enjoyed the pork chop. Restaurant was clean, service was great and food was wonderful. I was perfectly satisfied with everything. Bill was $70 all in for 2 with no alcohol so it wasn't cheap but it was good. read more

We have been here a couple of times both dine in and carry out. It is a local bar/restaurant in Pittsboro, so very close to home! The food is really good and they have some nice selections in place of your ordinary bar food. They usually have a good sized crowd and seem to be busy on a regular basis so I would say that speaks for the food and their popularity. The portions are a good size. The waitstaff has always been friendly whenever we have gone. They have good pizzas, although they aren't extremely large. The fish sandwich is very tasty and a nice size. I really wish they would allow under 21 so we could take our teens. They did build an outdoor area during the pandemic to help with spaced seating. Don't order the nachos. Waitress brought them a said "here is your taco salad" i said i ordered nachos and she said my fault they both look the same. That was a hint. The whole bowl full of chips was overcooked (yes I said bowl), ground beef topping was dried out, cheese was overcooked and crunchy, the dried out salsa on the side was inedible and the condiment container of sour cream was enough for about 5 or 6 chips. They have breaded or naked and 3 sauce flavors. They are really good! Reminded me of hooters wings a little bit. The breadsticks were yummy also. $7 and you got 6 of them. They were brushed with a butter/cheese/herb blend with cheese sauce (or you can choose marinara) breadsticks had a good flavor and I loved the cheese sauce but they weren't very dense, kind of airy breadsticks. We had friends who got the shrimp appetizer it was SO GOOD! Big and flavorful!! I loved everything about them. Another friend got the shrimp and crab dip. The dip was good but they served them with the cheap circle tortilla chips like you would get from a baseball game. Together they didn't pair well and I wouldn't recommend. They had domestic beers on special for $3.50 which also paired well with our food. It is a small establishment and at the time they had a tent for additional seating outside. We decided to try this place out after our Zumba class and for a friend's 50th birthday last week and I'm glad we did! Thursday/weeknight and packed but we did not have to wait long and were able to seat ourselves. Lots of specials to choose from and everything we got was great! The side salad was really good as I'm a salad freak and some are lame, but this one was not. Our waitress was good and checked in with us many times throughout the visit. She brought us some deep fried cheese cake with chocolate, raspberry, and caramel topping for us for her birthday also! The angry pasta that my friend and I had was really good with sausage chicken and seafood, and the birthday girl's dish with jalapeno corn bread and the pulled pork was very good also.
