After looking for my favorite one of a kind restaurants while in an area we don't frequent, I came across a family owned restaurant in Mooresville, Indiana called Morgan's Corner Cafe. It's not actually on a corner but maybe it was at one time. Once you arrive it's a seat yourself restaurant which makes it nice to get a booth or table of your choice. The menu was nothing surprising but they have great reviews for their biscuits and gravy. I ordered the Haystack which features hash browns, topped with biscuits and gravy with your choice of 2 eggs cooked to your liking. You have an option of a half or full order. I went for the full and I was totally full at the end. It was delicious by the way. The server was right to our table and very personable and pleasant and appeared to enjoy her job. This was refreshing and assuring we were at the right place. The other item ordered was a mushroom and Swiss burger that the restaurant said was ok to cook up before 11 am. This was also not necessary for them to do but they happily did it for us with no fuss. The decor was open and comforting and we were made to feel welcome from the time we came in and from the time we left. It was a great choice for us and I'm sure you will enjoy it as well. They close at 2 pm so keep that in mind if you travel there for a meal!

We randomly found this spot on Yelp and decided to check it out. It seemed extremely busy when we entered, but they seem to be a weekend breakfast spot and ended up getting a spot rather quickly. We chose a table by the kitchen and were immediately greeted by our server. My husband opted for the Ribeye, biscuit, and eggs and hash browns (special highlighted on the wall) and I went for the All meat omelette with hash browns. I was curious about the pancakes and did a Silver Dollar add on since they had run out of the Sourdough bread. We also got a couple of coffees, which had an option for free refills. The staff worked pretty well and efficiently since the cook turned out orders pretty quickly and the bussers cleared and cleaned tables like clockwork. We must have shown up during a breakfast rush but were served quickly. This also seemed to be a spot for those attending the Colts home games, post church, or just for the weekend. There were also other out of towners like ourselves (Michigan fans) that came by to grub. The food came out quickly and on point. The steak was cooked appropriately and biscuit melted in my mouth. Delicious. The hash browns and eggs were also pretty tasty. It was nice and family friendly, literally full of regulars and seemed to be a place where everyone knew everyone. I loved the Christmas decor and it made the restaurant a bit more homey and comfy. Definitely worth a trip back to try out more dishes, especially the sold out sourdough bread. Otherwise, at least we can at least get an order to go/for take out. Great food, service, and value for the price/quality of food.

We had some time to spare waiting on a kid's baseball game. Although I was torn between here and a pancake house that offered mimosas, the reviews were so good we chose here. Also, my daughter is named Morgan so I had to check out her namesake. This was a Sunday around 9:45 am. The line was out the door. The ladies in front of us insisted the food was worth the wait and the portions were hardy. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to know each other, which is usually a good sign that the food is good enough for a come back. We waited awhile to be seated and it took a pretty long time to get our food. We had heard a 14 top and 7 top get seated before us, so the wait was expected. Our waitress was friendly as was a few of the other employees. Our food was good & decent- nothing bad and nothing to rave about. I could make it at home, which I think is the point of the restaurant... to get food that is homemade and not from a conveyor belt or heating lamp. The gravy was my favorite and the eggs were tasty. The potatoes were only browned on one side- they were not undercooked but I would have liked crispy all over. If you have some time to waste this spot is fine, but a mimosa, Bloody Mary or even just a fresh squeezed juice would have helped me enjoy my time a little more.

One such truck is Milkhouse Brew, a Mooresville, Indiana based mobile coffee truck serving locally roasted coffee, specialty beverages, and locally baked confections. Milkhouse Brew is a partnership between cousins Haliena "Hali" Mynatt and Suni Johnsons. Hali also owns Morgan County event venues 5 East and The Barn at Milkhouse Lane. Suni is a longtime photographer in the area. Both women are locals who graduated from Mooresville High School. Milkhouse Brew has a fairly basic menu, or at least did today, including cappuccino, latte, macchiato, americano, chai latte, and hot chocolate with some variations and flavors available. Prices were pretty darn reasonable and all the drinks could be served either hot or cold. They also all came in either 16-ounce and 20-ounce sizes. Prices primarily were in the $3-6 range and for that you get a tasty drink, awesome service, and the thrill of supporting local. I ordered a 20-ounce iced americano. It was served fairly quickly and they seemed to do a steady business today. A food truck offering coffee has been a serious lacking at Statehouse Market and I'm hoping they will return. Coffee is from Timber City Coffee and Tea - an establishment that recently opened up a storefront in Plainfield. Milkhouse also plans to carry Circle Kombucha, though I did not see it available today. They are also exploring options for root beer on tap. I loved my drink, though I did think the ice melted super quickly and that slightly hindered my enjoyment of the drink. I still enjoyed it, however, that does keep me from forking over a 5th star. Who knows? I hope I get to award that in the future as this new kid on the block, women-owned and operated, really gets going. There's much to love here with an appealing truck, friendly service, quality products that are also local, and an overall winning experience. Here's hoping they'll be back at Statehouse Market in the near future. I could not find an actual address, though they are active on social media and do have a website. They seem to be particularly active in the Morgan/Hendricks county area.

I've been a loyal customer since the days of the physical member card, and even now that everything is digital, I still enjoy coming here. While I was there, the barista Marcus (I believe that was his name) was friendly and pleasant throughout my visit. I noticed some coupons displayed in the window and asked if I could have the coupon sheet to use on my return trip. This is not uncommon because they give these to customers to use. He was about to give them to me when another barista stopped him and said that the ones he was handing me were their last sheet. I was a bit confused, since the coupons were clearly displayed in the drive-thru window, and I wondered if more could simply be printed. When I asked, I was told they hadn't received additional sheets yet, so they couldn't give out the last ones. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any effort to offer an alternative or accommodate the request, which was disappointing. I ended up leaving feeling a bit uncomfortable despite the great service from Marcus. The lady wasn't very kind with her approach but denying me coupons to SUPPORT a local business wasn't on my bingo card for my birthday. Anyway, I enjoyed my coffee, the initial service and supporting a locally owned business.

The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive without hovering, warm without pretense, and delivered with the sort of genuine hospitality that makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest at an impossibly chic gathering. And then came the drinks. The pistachio latte was a masterpiece of balance and indulgence -- velvety, nutty, and luxuriously smooth, as though a pistachio grove had somehow been distilled into liquid silk. Each sip unfolded like a sonnet. The wildflower latte, meanwhile, was pure poetry in a cup. Delicately floral without being overpowering, it carried an almost ethereal sweetness, like spring itself had been persuaded to dissolve into espresso. It was whimsical, elegant, and astonishingly memorable. The Green Room Cafe has achieved what so many coffee shops aspire to but few truly accomplish: creating not just beverages, but an experience -- one steeped in artistry, comfort, and just the right amount of enchantment. A triumph. Five stars scarcely feels sufficient. I love finding a coffee shop that has their own house made syrups. I tried the monthly special, Wildflower latte with an added espresso shot and sadly it just tasted like flavored milk. I want to be able to taste the espresso and decided to pivot to a cocktail instead. Their cocktails were well made and the presentation was perfect. While there isn't a large selection of liquors, they have the staples to make most go-to cocktails in addition to their monthly specials (both cocktail and mocktail options). The food is what really stands out and would bring me back. You are able to choose a salad, flatbread or sandwich and their creations are unique and delicious. I had the pesto, peas and goat cheese on flatbread and was pleasantly surprised to find I could order the flatbread as a half order for $9 instead of committing to a whole order. I will be back but the coffee still needs some work before it would be enticing enough to became my go to location. Overall, it's a fun spot with options for everyone and a great addition to the Plainfield area.
