I've been to a few First Watch locations in Ohio so when it came to Burlington I decided to go once the initial crowds died down since I didn't remember the food being that memorable. I went early one Saturday morning before the rush (crowds were appearing by the time we left at 9:30a) and were quickly seated in a booth by the window with lots of natural light. The restaurant was clean and well appointed with modern rustic decor and our waitress was super attentive and friendly. I did a bit of research before ordering to only order the most popular dishes in hope of making some memories this time around. I ordered the morning meditation juice which was a perfect mix of their fresh squeezed orange juice, lemon juice, beet juice, turmeric, ginger and agave nectar. Perfect way to start my morning in the sunlight. For my main breakfast entree I got the lemon ricotta pancakes which came with 2 HUGE pancakes the size of the plate. Even though the lemon curd appeared to be a dollop, it was enough for the whole dish since the lemon was very prominent to the point syrup was not needed. The berries were fresh and the pancakes were cooked to perfection (soft with lightly crispy edges). I also enjoyed a hot cup of table side coffee with my drink. I drink it black so I found the plain coffee to have a nice flavor and wasn't bitter at all. Now the million dollar bacon ehhhh.... I heard someone ask if they were thick, not at all. I found the honey to overpower the other seasonings so it was just basic bacon with honey in my opinion. Not worth the almost $7 price tag or the million in the name. If I am in the mood for a solidly good fresh breakfast in a nice atmosphere I'll be sure to stop by, but I wouldn't wait longer than 15 minutes for it. read more

I stopped in for lunch. I ordered the veggie sandwich (grilled mushrooms and onions). My sandwich was refrigerator cold. Mushrooms were on one half of the sandwich and the onions were on the other half. My first bite of sandwich was strictly onions (yum onion sandwich). The pesto was a single blob in the center. This sandwich was obviously prepared by someone who does not care about what they shove out of the kitchen. I enjoy First Watch food. The Greensboro and Raliegh locations have never been a disappointment. I will never go back to the Burlington location. This is sad because I live in Burlington. read more

This place was a great lunch date for me and my wife. Clean, friendly atmosphere. Service was very good. Loved the menu options for breakfast, brunch or lunch. We both went with sandwiches and she got a side of tomato soup and I got greens. I would actually give the food 4 1/2 stars. Nothing was wrong or tasted bad just the tomato soup was a bit rich for our taste and the greens were a little too much (quantity). They had a soup of the day but with a turkey club sandwich tomato seemed to pair better than broccoli and cheddar. It would have been perfect with a chicken noodle type soup. Went here for breakfast this morning pretty early. Before 8 am so they were not too busy for a saturday. Which was nice. The staff was attentive but they did get my order wrong, I asked for an English muffin and got toast instead, but i wasnt too bothered with it. Everything was clean, the food came out quickly. Mom and I went here for breakfast. Our waitress was okay... meaning she didn't do anything special, but bring us our food. I mean, we actually placed our drink & food order with another waitress because we sat there for awhile. I ordered a mimosa. I don't understand why restaurants use "pulp" orange juice for mimosas... that a BIG FAT NO! But I ordered the "The Works" omelet, which was a great choice. I had a buy one get one free coupon for my birthday so we gave it a try. The wait was about 1 hr. I went on line to get in line and did a couple errands do wait about was 15 minutes. As a native Floridian where First Watch is everywhere, I was ecstatic to hear that it was coming to Burlington! First Watch is a breakfast, brunch, & lunch, chain restaurant but there's a reason why you can find it everywhere. The food is high quality! I went with my husband on a Sunday morning. There was no wait when we went there, but pro tip if you go on the weekend is to either go before 9am or join the waitlist on their website. I ordered avocado toast and it came with 2 eggs cooked your way - I chose scrambled. The avocado was FRESH and they gave me a generous portion of it. My husband ordered the Banana Granola Almond Crunch Pancakes. Their pancakes are delicious and large. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is new, so everything was still in good shape and clean. This is a great spot for consistently good food for everyone! read more

Welcome welcome "First Watch" to the Burlington area!! What a great location pick and well use and transformation of an existing building. The colors outside are perfect and the grounds were well cleaned and maintained. We were welcomed upon entering and then taken to our seats right away. In our case we didn't need a menu because we are "First Watch" veterans The service was great, quick and the food correct and hot. Delicious, not a crumb left on our plates. Very nice staff. Area was clean. We came close to closing... about 45 t minutes til. The attendant didn't know which servers were working so we moved once. Not a problem. The server was very helpful and friendly. Food came out relatively quickly. The chicken sausage came out very blackened and had to be replaced. She said it was too crunchy and burnt. My potatoes were slight too salty but still tasty. The food portions are massive and the drink was delicious. I got the one with the lemon, beets, turmeric and ginger. I really liked the rústica frittata. It was cooked perfectly with fresh veggies. Everything tasted like it was prepared fresh. The pancakes are massive. So much that we couldn't finish even after sharing. My suggestions would be to watch the sausages not ro burn them and lay back slightly on the seasoning. The frittata was delicious but also slightly on the salty side. Plenty of parking and easily accessible. I do with they would ask if you want a table or booth. We came to First Watch with a group of 2 adults and 4 kids. We expected a bit of a wait, but ended up waiting over 1.5 hours just to get a table. With that kind of wait time, we assumed the service and food would at least be worth it--but unfortunately, it wasn't. Once we were finally seated, the service was disorganized. Several items we ordered were forgotten or brought out late, and we had to follow up multiple times to get everything. When the food did arrive, it was underwhelming at best--poor quality, bland, and definitely not worth the time or money ($84.08). This was an exhausting and frustrating outing for our whole group, especially with kids in tow. Sadly, we won't be returning to this location. read more

I/we had to try it out! I read the menu online, as I have a lot of food allergies! I did like I always do & told them when we sat down & every-thing was delicious & I'm alive!! It hadn't been open long when we went, but I think it's been 2 or 3 months ago!! It's been a hard year, & my hubby was with me, so not sure, since he had back surgery on 8/20! First timer visit about 1:30p so not crowded. Looked like a lot of tables needed to be bussed so had to wait a brief time to get a table out of the main thoroughfare. Floor was dirty with dropped napkins and food. Ordered chimichurri steak & egg hash. The poached eggs were overcooked with partially solid yolks and lukewarm hash temp. The service was absolutely terrible we didn't get silverware or napkins before and after we got our food we had to go to the front twice to just get them and she was disrespectful. The ambience and energy in the room was just rude. We had to wait 25 minutes after we were done eating for her to even come back. She was inconsiderate and I do not recommend. Then we had to wait for a receipt for 15 minutes because she wouldn't come back it was quite careless. This was my first and probably last visit. The service was awful from the time we sat down up until the time we just walked out! I am a firm believer in first impressions. We were greeted without a smile or much less spoken to. Our server was ok until we asked for napkins for my drink which was over flowing. We were given a dirty syrup bottle in which we ask for a clean bottle. The server was not very nice as her body language tells it all! She laughed and looked at us as if we asked for something outrageous! Nevertheless, we never received the napkins or the clean syrup bottle. Ok so when something is new I get everyone jumping on board. Perhaps the food quality is based on the newness. I am here to say that after waiting over 30 minutes the service was not great. We had to wait to get drinks and then. Longer than expected for food. It was pretty good but this is not a breakfast you will be amazed by flavor or really anything. This is about trendy buzz that is created about a place. There are certainly more mom and pop locations that have better breakfast bar far. I would rather have a grillwork omelet over this. But I will say that they do offer a large variety of options. I suggest you go for yourself and determine if the hype is warranted or is it a case of the buzz exceeding the food. I will say that people say online it's hard to judge the food quality right after a grand opening where it is about turning volume. Go see for yourself.
