What a cool bar. One of their ads is a poster, "Missing Cheap Drinks in RiNo - last seen on Thursday nights at the Matchbox." I went on a Tuesday night and the drinks were still cheap! Their HH runs daily open to 8pm. Wells are $4 (unheard of anywhere in the area). They also have delicious infused shots such as Green Tea, Spicy Pickle, and Horchata for $9. Super friendly bartender with a laid back clientele. Will definitely come back.

What a fun time at this place. Singing, dancing and a patio. Perfect time in Denver!

    Happy hour specials.

Having passed The Matchbox by on multiple occasions while bar/brewery hoping in RiNo, I decided it was long over due I stop in to check it out. SPACE: I'm going to agree with Abby S. In that they are striving for a dim grunge kinda look/feel. There's exposed brick all around, some art on the walls for sale, tables that fold down against the walls when they're busier, and a chalkboard featuring the drink specials. Plus they have a roll up door in the front for warmer weather and a patio out back (to the side). STAFF: Decently attentive. They weren't terribly busy while I was there, but the area around the bar was crowded. I had to wait a few for my tab after ordering my second drink to close out. DRINKS: I sipped on a Moscow Mule ($7) and a Princess Yum Yum from Denver Beer Co ($4). I was impressed at the cost for my craft beer. $4 is actually a terrific deal! The mule wasn't anything impressive. The specials are mostly generic beers with a shot of liquor. PRICE: Unfortunately, I didn't see anything saying that the have a $10 minimum on credit card purchases, but they do. Lame. I hate minimums. Pricing is pretty cheap for beers and their specials (which appear to be mostly generic beer with a shot of liquor). It's painfully average (quality and cost) for mixed drinks. Eh, now that I've been to The Matchbox, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back - unless it's for one of their drink specials or a cold brew.

This is a very nice spot to grab a craft beer and more. The beer garden in the back has a lot of awesome mural art as well. These photos are from 2017, so maybe some of the art has changed, but I am sure that it is just as awesome now. Cheers!

The patio is awesome and the crowd here isn't pretentious like you would expect from a RiNo (tech-land) bar.

In fact, we didn't eat anything that wasn't well seasoned, cooked to order and authentically British. Not an easy find, if you ask me. We sat at their bar, chatted with the bartender - who was really friendly and checked on us often. The place was packed, but we got in quickly and you'd never know they were popping. Their cocktails were amazing and after some chit chat about what I liked and didn't, the suggestions were fabulous. Loved the British decor as well. Such a fun place. It was a lovely evening and we hated to leave, but we'll def be back!

The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but that's not a bad thing. Lots of parking and outdoor space to wait for a table or pull up a chair. The service is a little stiff and slow but what can you expect from a pub style restaurant. It can get pretty busy inside especially around holidays so definitely make a reservation if you plan on having a big party or don't want to sit at the bar. As far as English/Irish food goes this the only serious contender in the area, i haven't found another UK restaurant that quite mimics the pub atmosphere as well as this one. Check it out for some stick to your ribs goodness!

Any time I go to Denver for a conference, I try to make it out here. I went in the middle of the day for lunch and there were a couple tables and people at the bar, but not crazy busy. Staff is informative and friendly. We got the: 1) Chips and Curry: -It's house made fries and curry sauce. -I'm used to Japanese curry, so I'm always a little bit taken aback when the curry has a bit of sweetness to it, but delicious either way. Slightly sweet and savory curry with lots of layered spices to it. Went deliciously with the chips. 2) English Breakfast: -Comes with 2 eggs (your choice for the style), rashers (thick cured pork), bangers (sausage), baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, and we added some black pudding for $2. -Always get English breakfast when you get a chance to. Filling and comforting. Great diversity of textures and savory, salty, and umami flavors. Gotta get the black pudding too. 3) Scotch Egg: -Comes with spicy mustard. -I LOVE scotch eggs. I'm a low key hardboiled egg enjoyer, so the addition of the sausage layer around with the deep fried breadcrumbs and dipped in mustard? Divine. I will always order this when I see it and this was good! 4) Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich: -You get a choice of fries or tots. We got the tots. -It's made with bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, and onion. -It's alike a nice twist and upgrade to a grilled cheese sandwich. Sweetness from honey mustard, saltiness and crispiness from the bacon, juicy tomatoes. Good stuff. Make sure to use the mustard and HP sauce. Good stuff!
