Wow! Who would've thought such an awesome cafe could be found inside the MLB studios. I've heard for awhile that the cafe inside the movie studios had some good eats but I was not prepared on how impressed I would be when I came here recently. I dined here with some coworkers and all of us really liked it. The way the cafe works is you order up front and then they will cook your order and bring to your table. They've got various pizzas, salads and sandwiches to choose from. They also have daily specials! Pricewise for entrees is about $7-$9. The cashier recommended getting something off the specials menu because they change their specials weekly. I chose to get their vegetarian/vegan special of the week which consisted of quinoa patties with mango curry relish, napa cabbage, spinach, cucumber mint, mini peppers, sprouts, toasted almonds and miso dressing ($8.75). When my salad came out, I was so impressed with the colorful array of veggies that were topped with two sticks of crispy quinoa patties. It was one tasty and very fulfilling salad and I'll even say perhaps one of the best vegetarian salads i've ever had. I will never look at quinoa the same way again after this meal. The way they cooked the quinoa patties was great! It was perfectly crispy and a great topping with the salad. I also was such a fan of their miso dressing. A bit on the sweet side but great with all the napa cabbage, spinach, cucumber mint, mini peppers and sprouts. The toasted almonds was a nice touch as well. I really enjoyed lunch here and during lunch, my coworkers and I spotted their breakfast menu. Their breakfast menu looks very good as well with omelets, vanilla bean french toast and flavored lattes! I was so impressed with lunch, that it's on my list to try breakfast here next. I took on the challenge to try this place out. It was difficult to find this place because the navigation leads you to marine ave side. You need to enter from rosecrans and redondo ave. At the gate you tell them your going to the cafe. The cafe is on the right side when you enter the gate. So it looks like a cafeteria but really dressed chefs. You pay at the counter. The menu changes I think every couple of days. Everything looked good! I decided to order the tuna sandwich. It was surprisingly really good and big. It had a lemon zest to it. There was lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers on a toasted wheat bread. If I knew it was going to be that good I woild have taken a pic. I must say I will probably visit this place again. Coworker and I yelped "breakfast burrito" on yelp when we were on the way to work. We called and ordered over the phone but silly us got led to this little cafe...INSIDE the marvel worksite...oops! Luckily the guard let us in. We went to pay for our food but the credit card machines were down..and we were severely close to being late! So the man at the counter said that we could come back at lunch and pay for our meals, even though we mentioned we didn't work in the building. (We came back the next morning :) The breakfast burrito was filling. Way better than the stuff the cafe in our building sells...and for a good price too! Probably won't go back because its such a hassle to get into :( read more

Didn't have the time to eat this morning. Hunger makes this girl cranky. Working at the Airport Courthouse today, I had a little bit of downtime and decided to spare my colleagues the cranky Sophia and run for a quick breakfast. This restaurant was on the top of the Yelp list when I searched "breakfast at current location". Drove a few miles, only to find out that the place IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. (Yes, I do know that caps are viewed as yelling.) The restaurant is inside a studio lot and is inaccessible unless you work there! So now I'm back at work, having gone on a wild goose chase, but with no goose to show for it; still very hungry and disappointed that Yelp placed a restaurant you can't eat at, at the top of its list for this area. So If my colleagues have a problem with cranky Sophia, I'm telling them - take your complaints to Yelp. :) Seriously though, Yelp's powers that be, you must remove this restaurant or have it in bold letters next to its name - CLOSED TO GENERAL PUBLIC. read more

Food + Staff = Lacking. MBS was an okay experience at best. Aside from that, the rat-faced chef working in the back was loud and obnoxious, even nearly borderline abusive like he just picked up a copy of 'Kitchen Confidential' and thought, 'Hey, maybe I'll play chef today.' The sandwiches he prepared didn't need the theatrics that followed which made the whole experience awkward at best. Also, who takes nearly 40 minutes to serve up a sandwich? If it's going to take that long, the sandwiches and the experience should have been much better. Advice to the owner, try a new cook and maybe you'll do better business. read more

Urban Beach Cafe is a cozy South Bay cafe off of the freeway. I ordered their breakfast burrito before a meeting and it was massive! (In a good, hungry sort of way). Loved it. Will return. read more

HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST ON THE LOT COMMISSARIES EVER!!!!! This cafe pumps out amazing quality food at a reasonable price. The manager Daniel is one the nicest guys and is so accommodating. If you want my opinion order the BBQ Chicken Pizza!!!! DELISH!!! The Grilled Chicken Sandwich is also fantastic. We actually use them for our catering and they feed us so well. Steak, shrimp, chicken, fresh veggies and some of the best salad you've ever had. read more

Ordering online is a joke, but do is waiting 1/2 hour + for "quick" cafe food. They constantly mess up orders, and the prices online they like to tell us arnt right so we owe them more $. I guess they enjoy the monopoly of being the only food source on the Media Lot. read more

This is just for there catering service. Yes though this restaurant is not open to the public they still can cater for any type of event or your lunch meeting. The food and service was amazing. And they do an amazing job creating a menu for pretty much any type of cuisine you are looking for. They also will accommodate if you are on a budget. I've been using them frequently for our company lunch meetings and so far everyone in our office loves the food. read more

I work in the lot so this place is fast to get to. Sometimes the service can be a little slow with to go orders because they are over run but its never that bad. I always get the chicken Cesar salad here! So good! Really fresh croutons. read more

This place is located within a closed working area, but all you have to say is that you're going to Urban Beach Cafe. The place is small, you definitely have that cold sleek environment (cold meaning it has this metallic feel to the place). The people are friendly, the food comes out very quick, and it's definitely good food. It's a place to check out if you have some time. read more

I love the Urban Beach Café! I work on the lot so accessing this place is not a problem for me. It is a secure lot, but if you just tell security you are eating at the café, they will let you in, parking is close by and is free if you leave within the hour (otherwise, you'll get charged!) The food is always fresh and they have great weekly specials. They also recently added vegan/vegetarian options to their menu. It's mostly burgers, sandwiches, pizza and salads. I have never had a bad meal here! The pizza is surprisingly really good, as are the sandwiches and salads. They use seasonal ingredients, so it's great they change things up. The staff is always really friendly and the café is always really clean (almost too clean... it sort of has a sterile, industrial feel to it). They have one TV, which is kind of nice if you're on a lunch break. The prices are really competitive for the area, so it's a no-brainer to come here for lunch. They also serve breakfast, but I've never had it, but I'm sure the quality is just as good as their lunch. They close early afternoon since they are only open for breakfast and lunch and sometimes they have to shut it down if something is filming inside, but it's rare and I've only seen it happen a handful of times this year. read more

Delicious! The Infusion Burger was perfect and so was the Caesar salad that it came with. It was definitely worth the search for this place.
