I was told it was because of insurance policies but plenty of other daycares are open to all breeds and rely on behavior assessments to make sure the dog is the right fit. Nothing on their website says anything about breed restrictions and the woman on the phone indicated that there are multiple breeds they do not accept (she did not elaborate on which)! The Meadows is close to our home, but I would gladly drive farther to leave our dog. He has been going 1-2 times weekly since he was 6 months old. It is very different from a facility we used for our previous dog in southern CA, so it took me a while to get used to it. They are far more protective of the dogs which is probably very good. Our dog had a fair amount of anxiety, but he loves everyone a Camp Canine and goes willingly. We also had to board home for a night or two unexpectedly when my husband had a heart attack. They accommodated us easily and were so kind. I have no hesitations making recommendations. read more

Before I even got my pup I researched various daycare/ boarding facilities within 45 minutes of our home. It was immediately clear upon meeting the owner, Heidi and seeing both the beautiful grounds and facility that this was the place for my girl. I was also impressed with how Heidi assessed and interacted with my pup. Mia has been going to the Meadows regularly since she was six months old for both daycare and boarding. She's very attached to me but will go happily off with one of the wonderful staff members, tail wagging away. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here with our pup. There was a lot of very poor and confusing communication. Additionally, there was numerous events of misleading information. This establishment doesn't really seem to understand how to deal with dogs who have anxiety. Instead of being willing to work with us and our 10 month old puppy who we are trying train, they dropped us because it was "not the right time in my dogs life." I guess my question is to them; if not now then when? I've never heard not to train my puppy and wait until they are an adult. But I hope others have a better experience, but we will not be recommending this doggie daycare to anyone. read more

After rescheduling twice, and trying to stick my dog in a mobile groomer this place SHAVED MY DOG EVEN THOUGH I EXPRESSLY SAID NOT TO!!! The owner is crazy, made my wife cry, and when I asked her why they shaved my dog she said: "I don't care about you, its about the dog. We didn't have time to groom her out so we shaved her." I highly recommend the Meadows Canine Camp! I put my beloved doggie in their care weekly. Since my doggie has been going to the Meadows Canine Camp, he has become less apprehensive around other dogs and people. My doggie receives attention from the friendly staff and enough romping round that he is ready for a long nap when I get him home. The care for the dogs appears to be top notch. They have a lot of space to hangout in. Booking appointments is fairly straight forward through email usually, or over the phone. The rates are pretty fair for the area. I had one fairly large issue come up, it was handle pretty well and resolved within a day. I still choose to use them because of the way it was handled. Based on my experience with Heidi and some of the other reviews I can say that it is sometimes hard to talk with her. I think she speaks dog better than human. I can say it doesn't seem to have any intention of being rude, it just comes off that way. If you can get past that, she can be helpful and the rest of the staff is also very friendly. read more

This place is great and we are crazy for our dog. We know we think our dog is special and we feel they treat him that way. They know him by name and I love the fact that I never hear a bunch of barking dogs. We have had the bad experiences so were really nervous. We drop him off more that I thought we would because he is happy at the end of the day and I do feel guilty if my work day was longer that expected. I can't say enough good things about this kennel! I have always been very nervous about leaving my dog at a kennel because she is so attached to me and has separation anxiety but when I leave her here I feel like I'm leaving her in great hands. The facility is like a dog paradise, and there are always plenty of dogs for her to play with. The staff is wonderful with dogs, and they really know what they doing! The owner Heidi expressed judgement upon my dog in comparing him to one that she has a lawsuit with, Guinness. I went for a preview and they immediately tried to take my dog from me without me even giving a tour or looking at my vaccinations. The owner, Heidi is a complete nut job and rude. Yes, they screen individual dogs ahead of time and they turn dogs away they believe are not compatible with the others, but that is exactly what I want for our dog and all the many others who are happy and healthy day in and day out at The Meadows. The owners and the employees treat and interact with the dogs like their own. They are proactive when it comes to taking measures that protect the health of the client dogs. All I can say is that our dog loves this place and we would not hesitate to recommend this kennel for boarding or daycare period. We've been going here for years and have never had a problem, nor a complaint, except from our dog who always wants to stay longer. ;) Incidentally, before the Meadows, we took our dog to Paradise Pet, DairyDell and Olivet kennels and we wouldn't knock them, but they weren't for us. The difference between them and The Meadows is how happy our dog is to go there and how we never have to worry about him when he is under their care even though he has specific health issues. Also, I want to mention that I have never reviewed on Yelp but I am doing so after reading the negative reviews of Max B and K-Bizzle (fo shizzle?) and their comments about Heidi (note that the dates of both reviews are on the same day...hmmm). Anyway, I just wanted to get the word out that there have been a lot of haters of this business from the beginning and after attending all 3 public hearings, I wouldn't put it past some people with an axe to grind, to write a really negative review. I can't speak to the grooming here because I had to take my dog home early. The owner Heidi is crazy and has a limited sense of reality. She is incapable of communicating with her clients professionally. From the moment I drove into the parking lot, she had a scowl on her face and kept telling us that she had a lot of dogs to deal with that day. She was rude and short with us. Later, I received an emotionally charged phone call from her after she couldn't get in touch with my husband, and wouldn't allow me to speak. I am a very reasonable person, but she kept interrupting me as I was talking and was so angry that she told me she didn't want to talk about it and ended the conversation like a 2 year old in a tantrum. I decided to take my dog home mid-grooming. She probably cares about animals, but I hope she realizes that it's her attitude, rude and unprofessional behavior that will make me never return here again. My Gracie loves, loves the Meadows. Gracie is a rescue dog and needed help with socialization. Heidi Nieman, took the time over a 2 month period of time to work with her. I was about 2 1/2 years old when I came to live with my mom. I was very frightened of everything and most everyone. Well, my Mom decided we should try to help me like other people and other dogs.
