The inside of the place definitely needs some updating, but service was friendly and we were very pleased with our food. We got the French dip and Americano panini with turkey. Really nice flavor on both sandwiches and, while not piled high, a decent amount of meats and toppings. Don't know why we've never tried it before but we will be back. read more

I have never been in Big Town Hero but I do think I have had catered sandwiches at meetings in the past. And they were fine. Teen and I are in the middle of a project. Mom! Mom! Mom! MOOOOOOOM! Um ok what? I. AM. HANGRY. Seriously I think the kid is having a growth spurt ( at 17? is this a thing?) because it has been like this for weeks. AND Mom! you can choose! Just FEED ME. Little Shop of Horrors moment there. Anyway. I said " find me a tuna melt." Because some days are tuna melt days. Now I could make one just fine, in fact, an ex of mine said my amazing parmesan crusted albacore tuna melts were his favorite thing that I ever made, but sometimes I want others to make me one. Long story short we ordered panini from here. Delivered. Teen had the " Italian" with pepperoni, salami, ham, provolone, peppers etc on it. Mine had cheddar, tomato, pickles, and a quite decent tuna salad. The bread was like a folded fluffy flatbread, nicely grilled, the cheese was melty. Sometimes places do not nail the melty cheese part which is the whole dang point. Yes I know you're not supposed to eat tuna salad out for safety reasons. I liked this sandwich and I would do it again. I think their offerings are fine. It is probably a 3.5 but our delivery was super fast ( so they were ready fast) and everything was correct. Teen inhaled that Italian quickly so no photo of that one. P.S. You can get a side of fresh avocado for $1 ( small), $1.50 (medium) or $2 ( large). Since new ownership took over this shop is sooo much better. The subs were always tasty, but the previous owner was not friendly at all. The new owners are always smiling and welcoming. They also fixed the place up making it a nicer spot to eat if you are going to get your sub there. I've been back several times since it changed hands always with a positive experience, so don't let the low ratings discourage you from getting lunch here it's likely from the grouch that used to run it. read more

First time here & pretty disappointed. We ordered ahead of time (put in an online order at 11:15am for a 1:10pm pick up). Not only was our food not ready when we got there, but no one was at the counter to take orders/inquiries. Then when someone did emerge, all of the in-store orders took priority over the online order we put in well over an hour before hand. We received our sandwiches 35minutes late & the food was very unimpressive. I ordered the 'Avocado Sandwich'--it had hardly any avocado (see photo) & WAY too much mayo. For a nearly $15 sandwich, I would expect the name of the thing to be the main ingredient. The timing mishap could have been forgiven if they seemed very busy and/or the food was amazing, but neither were the case. Ultimately, I am very unhappy with my one & only experience at this location, and would give zero stars, if I could. I will not return & honestly this has probably turned me off from trying other Big Town Hero locations. read more

Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday they offer Cheesy Garlic bread which is hands down the best bread for a sandwich place in town! It's fresh baked daily and always delish. They have hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, soup, and salad. They serve Pepsi products, which is great for this Mt. Dew loving gal. My fav, pictured, is the turkey bacon avocado, subbing lettuce and mayo for cucumber. All of that and an olive on top! I'd eat here every week if I could! read more

I like Big Town Hero, not the best in the world but it's good. We used to go to the Tualatin one and come to this one now that we live out here. It's good, at least the turkey sub I normally get. Way prefer this over subway, but I feel like it's often closed. Before the Corona shut down. Not regular hours you could count on and service wasn't always the quickest. Definitely not in a great location either, would go after shopping at Fred Meyers. But I do like their turkey sub and bread. read more

The owner of this place is a total jerk, went to order a reuben he seemed surprised that I wanted rye bread, like it was a big shock to him "We've never had rye bread" Well that's weird considering most reubens come on it. You should pay more attention to what the client orders. When they order a sandwich w/o tomatoes, pickles and cheddar cheese the sandwich SHOULD NOT have tomatoes, pickles or cheddar cheese. Having to pick off said items from my sandwich should not be part of the experience. read more

After reading the other reviews here, I guess I was lucky on my visit here. I did not experience any of the issues that some of the other reviewers reported. I ordered the Italiano Panini, which was pretty good.It's basically an Italian sub but in panani form and topped with creamy italian dressing. Tested great and was warm and gooey when it landed in front of me. The staff was friendly and the service was pretty fast. I went here because I was looking for something simple that was close to work and different than Subway. For me, it was a good experience - I would come back here again. read more

I think this location recently changed ownership. Looks kinda run down BUT the sandwiches are good! My husband gets the Italian and I typically stick with one of the veggie items. Bread is soft and delicious, sandwiches have great flavor. Fountain machine has been down for a while so only can soda and bottled water options for drinks. Not a great chip selection however I can't complain because my favorite (Doritos) are always in stock. Overall I really enjoy this hole in the wall spot! read more

I come here for lunch on a regular basis and order the same thing, every single time. The regular lady working during the day knows who I am and what I get. Today, new lady behind the counter, her attitude made it clear she didn't want to be there, and it was super off putting. I ordered my sandwich, asking if they could do it in a mini, instead of the medium. She rolled her eyes, gave a big sigh and said, yeahhhhh I guess we can do that...., made me feel like I was really causing a huge inconvenience. I even said, I'll just take the medium if it's that big of an issue. I then had to ask for her to punch my stamp card, after I'd placed it out when I paid. She then hurried into the back without a word, so she didn't have to be bothered any longer. My sandwich comes out quickly, as there was no one in front of me. I get back to work and open it up 15 minutes later, and only half the meat is on my sandwich. I ordered a turkey and ham, there's no ham... I debated if it's even worth calling the store, what are they gonna do, over a $6 sandwich. Apparently my intuition was right, because they couldn't have cared less. I called anyway, because my entire experience was negative and ruined, for a place I've been frequenting since high school. Same lady answered the phone and I explained that I was just there and my sandwich isn't right. She offered to make me a replacement if I wanted to drive down there right then, which wasn't happening, as my lunch break was already about over. She let me know there wasn't anything she could do to remedy the situation, to make up for the money I wasted on food they made incorrectly, nor did she care to make an effort to, as she left the phone call in awkward silence after I said I wasn't wasting another 30+ minutes to come back to the store, right this second. Now, under normal circumstances, I would never post this. If it was any other time I've been in, and this happened, no biggie, shit happens. The horrible customer service, compounded with the bitchy attitude from the get-go, and incorrect order, I don't want other people to waste their hard earned money and time either. I use to love this place but today I was completely grossed out. I went in and ordered a sandwich. The lady who helped me had nasty long nails. After taking my order she went into the back, grabbed bread and started making my sandwich. She didn't wash her hands and she didn't put gloves on, she used her bare hands. I was so extremely grossed out that I ended up tossing my sandwich because I couldn't even think about eating it. I'm looking to complain to the food handlers because this is horrible. read more

I like BTH - I like BTH a lot. I get myself the pastrami and salami sandwich on white bread without the lettuce, tomato and pickles. I don't need a lot of extras - just give me the food. I lied, sometimes I get the BBQ chips and smoosh them on the sandwhich for an extra OOMPH of flavor. I've been to a few BTH's in the area and this one stands out. Each time, the sandwich is perfect. The owner recognizes his regulars. The bread is fresh, as is the heart of the sandwich (in my case the meat). It typically only takes a few minutes to get the food after the order & they go as fast as possible. The biggest downer of this location is that it's closed on Sundays always! read more

I really like these sandwiches. They're much better than Subway (blah). I like the bread, soft, and fluffy. It's usually the predominant smell when you walk into any Big Town Hero. I usually enjoy the pastrami sandwich with everything on it. The prices are pretty inexpensive and it's usually really fast. This one's located in a Fred Meyer mall, so parking isn't going to be a problem. It's clean, but small. read more

I visited this spot at lunch today. The sandwiches were pretty great, and even though they were obviously backed up it only took about 10 minutes to get my food. The man on the register was obviously overworked and exhausted, he was getting pretty frustrated but still managed to get my food to me quickly and apologize for the wait, which again, there really wasn't any. I feel bad though because it was an obvious issue of understaffing or perhaps ill prepared for the restrictions to be lifted on part of the owners/management that was causing the workers to deliver this treatment.
