Had an enjoyable birthday celebration for a friend here the other night. I joined a couple of my friends and their kids for a milestone birthday. It was us three adults and 4 children. We were seated at 5pm and walked through the menu/options- lots of options! We got a couple of the four course options and then added two kids meals and that was more than enough for all of us. This place is definitely a splurge - for both the stomach and the wallet! But it is worth it, especially for such a special occasion. Be careful not to fill up on the cheese alone, because you could easily do that. Anyone who actually has room for chocolate at the end is doing something wrong! I enjoyed the assortment of fruits and breads in the first round, the salmon, chicken and steak all went great with the main course. And melted chocolate to top it all off - nothing more needs to be said. Service was friendly and attentive, especially considering we had 4 children all under 10 years old in tow. I've driven by this spot many times and am glad I finally had a reason to stop in and enjoy a feast. Very pleasant experience. Came on a Wednesday evening at 6:30pm for their Crave Combo. $38 for two for a cheese and dessert fondue, bar dining only. There were three bar seats left so I was able to snag two for my friend and I. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I liked that they did notice my friend and I were catching up and talking a lot so they did minimal interruptions which is always appreciated and didnt feel forced on their behalf either. We decided on the alpine cheddar fondue with came with vegetables, bread, apples and grapes. The smell of the cheese was not the best but it was very delicious. We added the sausage dippers and it was very delicious. I also added their garden salad which was delicious! It tasted super fresh and the vinaigrette gave it a sweet but subtle taste and it all paired well with the cheese fondue. We decided on the ying and yang chocolate fondue was it was great to enjoy a nice sweet treat after the cheese and catching up with my friend. All delicious. Came with brownie, rice crispier, starters, banana and pound cake bites. It had been a while since I had visited and im glad I did. I don't even know where to begin! We had a reservation at 8, and were seated within minutes of being there. I paid extra for candles since it was our anniversary, and had told them prior that it was. Madisyn was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. This isn't just dining, this is a wonderful experience. She was so wonderful with explaining everything as it was my first time there. Me and my boyfriend had the absolute BEST TIME! We had Maddyson (I hope I spelled that right) as our waitress and she was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Alex the manager was nothing short of AMAZING! In our reservation we included celebrating a birthday, and they didn't do anything for it. Even asked the waitress and she said she would ask her manager and never came back with anything. We usually go with the 4 course dinner for two and these are some faves: 1) Cheese: Spinach artichoke fondue. Just give me all the bread and apples! 2) Salad: California salad because candied pecans on salads with a berry dressing is always the move. 3) Entree: For broth, we stick with the traditional court bouillon. Can't really go wrong with any of the meat combos but I usually get the Pacific Rim and that teriyaki steak is BOMB, especially with all those yummy sauces -- you can just dip to your heart's content! My husband loves the duck. 4) Chocolate... all of it. ALL OF THEM. Flaming turtle. Yin and Yang. S'mores if you're an OG. Love the brownie and blondie dippers. Soo good! I went with my mom, and a friend and her mom for my birthday and it was such a fun experience! We got the cheese fondue and then we got the baked potato fondue, and for dessert we got the cookie butter crunch fondue. Dinner was very good and the service was great! They brought a plate with bread, fruit, and other things to dip in the two cheese fondues. For dessert they brought brownie pieces, waffle pieces, pound cake pieces, and more! Plus the main reason to go here is for the experience! I recommend signing up for their fondue club, where you put your email address in and your birthday and anniversary date... They'll send you a coupon for six free chocolate dipped strawberries! Make sure to sign up in advance and you'll get that coupon for the month of your birthday ... Ordered a la carte and started with the Fiesta Cheese Fondue. It tasted very similar to queso but nonetheless amazing. For the entree, we got the Steak Lovers Fondue. The entrees also come with vegetables so if you're vegetarian like me, you won't have to order additional sides. The waiter was extremely quick, friendly, and helpful. The service was fabulous, from the friendly greeting we received at the door, to the personable and talented waiter who treated us like family (best service ever!!) to the manager (maybe owner?) who chatted with us and told us some history of the restaurant. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious and our guest with gluten free requirements was extremely happy with the food selections that were available. We are seasoned Melting Pot diners. We have been to many different ones from 3 in Chicago IL, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, and now 2 locations here in NC. Our server Ryan was amazing, his timing was perfect for us, we expect a very long dining experience, and we love to eat slowly, enjoying each other's company. We could not have asked for a more perfect server than Ryan, he was personable, professional, and truly knew his stuff! We enjoyed meeting him. The food was sensational, truly, sometimes we have had great service and meh food, because the seafood wasn't exactly the freshest it could be, or the bread was a bit on the stale side. Nothing too major, not enough for me to ever hammer them here. However last night everything was spot on 100%. Every bite was amazing from the cheese to the meat. We had to do a to go on the chocolate We just couldn't eat another bite. I must have said "I can't eat anything more" 5 times and then made another Green Goddess battered mushroom and ate it, long uncomfortable ride home lol. So Im coming to a part where I am usually constructive, however, this was something that no-one could control, a man in the booth near us was very very loud and vulgar to the either hostess or someone else, none the less, he did not improve through dinner, though the vulgarity slowed down. On this recent trip we realized we enjoyed putting the curry sauce on the mushrooms. You are given plenty of time to enjoy your meal. One word... HEAVEN The atmosphere is over the top romantic. I love it. If you make reservations you can request a booth that is by itself. Restaurant week is a good deal but this time we went as a celebration. Melting pot asks about whether you are celebrating an anniversary, event, birthday, etc. They also ask if you have any food allergies, which is an added perk for those that do! You cook/dip all of your food into a fondue pot. It's actually really fun and feels like you are eating so much more food because it comes out in courses. I always pick my own (choose 3). It is a lot of food. Cheers to those that can eat 4 meats in the four course meal. It can be overwhelming if it's your first time because you have to order everything at once except for the dessert. I always go with the Wisconsin cheese. They bring out a tray of veggies, apples, and bread. Remember you can request more veggies if you want! I get the California salad, my husband gets the Caesar. The salads are fresh and delicious. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the teriyaki steak. It's really hard for me to get other meats because I think it's so delicious. I usually double up on that and then pick a third item. It changes every time. For sauces the goddess is everything. I need like three plates of that sauce.... seriously. For dessert I go with the turtle and always request extra brownies because they taste sooo incredible. Melting pot is SUCH a treat for me and my husband. I love the experience and the ambiance.
