We really enjoyed the experience. It was my first time trying. We ended up going with the 4 course deal and ultimately think it was the best money with what we wanted to choose. Obviously you can't compare this to a hotpot place since the concept is still a little different. I thought the cheese fondue was gonna be overwhelming because I don't really eat that much cheese at a time but it was great we ordered the Spinach artichoke I believe it's so good with the vegetables plates they offer. For the main pot I ended up going with the Mojo and she ordered the court bouillon. The soup was really good and I enjoyed the sauce selection they gave us. The best surprise was the dessert fondue it was amazing. The sea salt dark chocolate won our hearts with the fruits. This is my third go around at a "Melting Pot", and this time was to celebrate close friends. Let me start by saying, It's not bad, and it's always fun to sit and dip foods into a vat of cheesy goodness, but the food isn't 'grand' by any means. As a matter of fact it's just cut up raw meats, raw vegetables, raw seafoods, breads and fruits you dip. It's the cheese fondue or broths that add to the experience, and the staff mixes the ingredients for the pots at the table. We had the 4 course Feast with 5 people one child, and we bought the kid option for the child. The pricing can be a bit confusing if you are in a group of more than 2 people. Plus, it was disappointing for the kid option since they didn't have a choice of choosing their own fondue. Kid's don't always find wine-cheese to be palatable. Luckily, we chose the loaded potato fondue option, which was more to their liking. Staff was good overall, and they helped facilitate the experience of dipping at the table and making sure drinks were refilled and that we had clean plates, incase we contaminated them with any raw meats. So it is what it is. With drinks it was about 90ish per person, and 30 for the child option. We went for the experience of it, celebrating birthdays, so it was just nice for a different night out. Our server, Ty, was exceptionally friendly and provided fantastic service throughout the meal. We ordered the 4-course experience for the adults and the 3-course meal for the kids. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable--perfect for a family night out. We started with the Fiesta and Wisconsin Cheddar fondues, then chose the Court Bouillon for the kids and Coq au Vin for ourselves. Both were excellent, and we loved the variety of meats and dipping options. Dessert was the highlight! The Yin & Yang and Flaming Turtle chocolate fondues were absolutely delicious. We dined at The Melting Pot as a little celebration. My husband has never been. My last visit was probably 20 years ago. We were sat in a very comfy corner booth for two sitting next to each other. Very nice. We decided on the 4 course for two. Which consists of cheese fondue, salad, entree fondue and then chocolate fondue. A great choice for the full experience. First off, Michael was our server and he was excellent. He did a fantastic job of explaining what he was doing making the fondues and explaining the charcuteries of food for dipping each time they came out. The four course option lets you choose your fondue /cooking options, cheese, entree and chocolate. Salads came out first, I went with the house salad which was very good. Then we choose the spinach artichoke cheese which was a great choice for us since we love spinach artichoke dip. Plate of breads, apples, grapes came out. My favorite course by far. Then we went with the traditional oil for the cooking method. This is where we didn't think things out. My husband does not like fish or seafood. His entree consisted of all steak and pork. I ordered a combo of steak, chicken, salmon and shrimp. I waited until he was done eating before I cooked the seafood so it would not give the oil that fishy taste he dislikes. Neither of us cared for the batter we could dip our raw meat & vegetables in before cooking. Just seemed heavy and tasteless. It also fell off and burned in the bottom of the oil. The Melting Pot does have an online timer for all the meats which was pretty cool. You have three skewers so you can cook multiple at a time. This part is very messy and keeps you busy cooking& eating. We also felt very full after. Neither of us eat a lot of fried food...so, it wasn't the best cooking method for us. Then, the table was cleared and it was chocolate fondue time. We went with the turtle pecan which was another great choice. Plate of sweet cakes, strawberries came out. We were definitely stuffed to the brim when we left. Our thoughts later. It was a unique eating experience and we were glad we satisfied the curiosity of doing it. We chose the high tier which is $67 per person that includes everything. We did in fact enjoyed every course we have the waitress was super sweet. I get a craving for fondue about once a year and there really is not any other place in St. Louis where you can even get fondue. The cheeses are solid and their ability to provide basically everything gluten-free was a big plus. It seems like so little food but it does fill you up. The service was lovely - he was exceptional and knew everything off the top of his head and was very quick and attentive. That said... I just felt bummed when we got the bill and while we knew what everything costs it was sticker shock for 4 people (one being a child) of over $300. Two cocktails, two specialty lemonades, two cheeses, two broths, and two chocolates. No lobsters, no surf n turf to clarify. It just felt not worth the cost and I feel like I forget about that in between when I don't go for a year. You can't go wrong with any of it but don't be afraid to try something out of the standard, the best cheese is the loaded baked potato and the best dessert is the banana foster. I really love this Melting Pot location. It is easy to get to, charming and could/can be romantic if that is what you'd like. I started going here years ago on an awkward date that we made the best of... and continued to go as the years have gone by. It is true that even knowing the cost unless you are adding it up as you go it can get pricey especially if you do drinks and add ons. Every now and again they do special cheeses or chocolates and there are plenty of special evenings where you can save a bit. They also do have 1/2 price cheese and chocolate at the bar only during happy hour which is a deal if you aren't wanting the full meal. I used to come about once or twice a year but it ended up being my daughter's favorite place to go so we go probably more often than we should and spend every birthday of hers there. This location holds so many memories for us and what makes it so is not only the great food, but the staff at this location goes above and beyond to make sure all your requests are met. You get exactly what you want and that it tastes good On tonight's visit our server was Mark and he was very friendly and this was a night where it was the first time we had been when they had just a bit of a change to the menu. And let me add the changes are spectacular. More food on the big night out and instead of like six small shrimp you get two huge ones which since my moms plate came with little shrimp we figured that all said and done you are getting the same amount of shrimp. It's tastier and meatier and I really liked them and was happy with the change. Mark made sure that he gave us extra potato's and butter like we had asked for and stopped by as often as possible to ensure that we remained happy with our food I truly felt for Mark though. He had a big section and he worked it like a pro. Every time he stopped he was professional and friendly and didn't let the busy night get to him. I remarked to my daughter that he must go home and ice his feet after all the walking he does lol but I was impressed with the continuity of service that we received. When the bill came, we realized it was incorrect and flagged down a very friendly manager who found out what we needed to know and came back to tell us what was going on rather than having the server stop and fix it right that second.... It's always these little things that I notice about the staff and how they work that makes for a much better experience. One of the main reasons my daughter and I were set on going to the Melting Pot was the Dubai chocolate and I have to admit that no one really cared for this one, but they have other chocolates which are absolutely delicious. This one just was not the choice for us but overall we had absolutely no complaints. As always I would definitely recommend and will be returning! read more

I had visited the Delmar Loop Melting Pot numerous times before they closed, so I decided to check out this location for the first time last night. We had reservations for 5:30 and arrived right on time, but we still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. It was quite busy for a Wednesday night! Our server Jesse was wonderful. He was very attentive and energetic, and he checked in on us frequently. I definitely liked the interior of the Delmar Loop restaurant better than the Town & Country location. The restaurant was clean, but the overall mood is not as inviting. I was a little surprised by the amount of time it took for the food to come out, considering all of it comes out raw. Not exactly sure what might've caused the long wait, but the rest of our experience was great. The food was exceptional. We did the Endless Entree special for $54 per person, and it was a pretty good deal. I especially liked the seasoning on the chicken. We chose the Coq Au Vin fondue cooking style, which includes burgundy wine, mushrooms, scallions, and garlic. It was absolutely amazing! For dessert, we chose the Bananas Foster fondue. I previously visited the location on Delmar regularly before they closed. Figured it was time to try this location. The restaurant is not as nice or inviting as the previous Delmar location. This location is very worn down-- rips in the leather seats of the booths, fake marble looking/plastic tables, scratched and paint chipping wood that have all seen better days. We waited about 10 min for our table to be ready, although we had a reservation and were on time. Given the appearance of the place, I had low expectations for food but surprisingly it was great! Quality and freshness of meats were top notch (and I'm super picky). Portions were large enough that prices were completely reasonable. Loved all the sauces that come with the entrees! I am really upset to say that I no longer recommend the Melting Pot, but wow--the experience my boyfriend and I had tonight was astonishingly disappointing. To begin, although mentioned in the reservation that a guest was celiac the waiter was unaware. No biggie, but odd. Our waiter offered us three types of water; sparkling, still, and tap but failed to mention the still water was a $6 charge PER fill--which we found out at the very end when looking at our bill. We get the cheese course and ordered the andouille sausage dippers ($4 up charge) as well as requested extra apples for the cheese as we cannot have the regular bread anyway, neither of which we ever received. We move onto the salad course, I got the California and my partner got the Bacon and Blue cheese. There were no candied nuts as described on the menu in the California salad and the spinach in the Bacon and Blue cheese was almost all stemmed. At the end of our entree course we ordered the "Toothless" shark bite drink ($8) to try for fun--we never received the drink. Service overall was just incredibly slow, which I wouldn't usually have too much of a problem with as I understand that dinner service at such an establishment can be chaotic at times, however it was just making everything feel worse. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience that we aren't used to having at the Melting Pot and ultimately we do not plan to return. The expectations did not meet the price tag and I would urge anyone to look elsewhere if wanting to splurge on a nice date night experience. read more

Oh melting pot....what happened? So we got all nostalgic and decided to do a girls night at the melting pot....it's been years and I've never been to this location. We had high hopes.... Very friendly and when I said I was there earlier than my party directed me to the bar like I asked. This is where is kind of went downhill. The person I assumed was the bartender said hi but turned around and went back to cutting limes....ummm ok. I wanted a drink. Not really here for the lime cutting show. Waited a minute and then said I forgot my glasses in the car to the host and ducked out. Luckily there was a bar next door. Hopped in and got a drink right away and waited for my friends. Fast forward 30 minutes and we are all here so we went back to the melting pot. Seated quickly, very friendly waitress. We ordered drinks got them in a reasonable amount of time. After that time slowed apparently... we eventually got out cheese. It was good nothing extravagant. We were supposed to get some promotional items with the friends fondue they were running. We had to ask for them and when we were almost done with cheese were presented with a small bowl of meat. Probably not what it was supposed to be but ok. Salad took a while. Overloaded with dressing. We waited a long time for the chocolate course which let's face it that e-bike we are here. It was awesome. In the meantime we really wished we had seen our waitress again for drinks but that didn't really happen in time. All in all it was ok but it's way too bright and cafeteria feeling in this location. We weren't there for romance but I'm sure other people are. Turn those lights down! Unless I'm Taking kids there to just try it out once I probably won't be back. read more

Yesterday was Valentine's Day. We had 4pm reservations. When we arrived, the hostess told us that we did not have reservations for the 14th but on the 15th. Both my spouse and I were so disappointed, we didn't really know how to react. Seeing our disappointment and frustration with the confusion, the very accommodating hospitality team asked us if we would be willing to wait to see what they could do to help. With it being Valentine's Day, the restaurant has been booked solid for at least two weeks. As we sat there trying to decide what we were going to do, the hostess came up to us and asked us to follow her. She led us to a cozy private corner booth. It was so romantic with rose pedals on the table and a bouquet on the table. The hostess smiled as I we were so touched by her kindness. Our server, Brett, was incredible. Our experience wasn't just dinner but really a fun food journey and adventure in fondu. Brett explained how to use the cook pots to het the best results and went over and beyond expectations. Food was fantastic! Adam was our server and he was super attentive and he provided great service. The ambiance was super fancy and we loved it. The manager Karen, I don't know if she had an issue with me sending my drink back. But I didn't complain about it, and didn't ask for my money back on it. All I said was "oh I'm finished with this." When she asked if she could take something and I handed her a full drink that was personally way too strong for me. After that, she treated my whole table different rolling her eyes at us and just straight up ignored us. If it wasn't for her nasty attitude I would've been giving this place five stars.
