We ate here with family after seeing the fabulous Blue Angels presentation. We skipped the appetizers and we were served our salads with their house Creamy Pesto dressing!! I chose the chicken piccata which was good but I've had much better at other establishments. My all time favorite is the Maziyhra Cheese and Brown butter! The only reason this place gets two stars from me is because we loved our waiter. I didn't catch his name, but on my receipt it says "Gian." He was wonderful. Otherwise, this would have been a one-star review. I have a friend that I don't get to see very often, and we like to get together for dinner occasionally. Our go-to place used to be The Cheesecake Factory at Chesterfield Mall, which no longer exists, so we've been looking for a new place that's about a halfway point for both of us. We've tried a few places, but they just didn't grab us enough to make any of them our new meeting place. We tried The Old Spaghetti Factory a few months ago, and we liked it so much that we both felt we had finally found a place we liked well enough to make it our new spot. Then we came back. In the few months since we were last there, they've drastically changed how they operate. Now, you are REQUIRED to purchase a three-course meal, whether you want one or not. ALL entrees come with a mandatory salad and a mandatory scoop of ice cream for dessert, neither of which I had the slightest interest in. Too bad. It's required. I never touched my salad, and when it came time for ice cream, I just asked our waiter not to bring it. I wasn't going to eat it, and it would have been wasted, just like the salad. I don't mind the concept of a three-course meal, because maybe some people want that. I'm just not one of them. I don't like being told what I have to order, whether I want it or not. Great experience! We stopped in last minute with a large group on a Friday night and they were able to quickly seat us. It was a quieter environment and with the four young kids we had it was nice to have a less hectic environment. Our server did an excellent job handing multiple tabs and making recommendations. I've only ever ordered the spinach tortellini and I got it again - and when I say that's the ONLY think I order I mean that every visit multiple times a year for 25+ years that's what I get. Once there was a spinach recall in '08 and upon ordering was informed they didn't have it, so I got up and left (true story). All of that to say my dish on this particular Friday night was superb. Food was delicious. Still love the Spaghetti with brown butter and Mizithra cheese but could have done without the 2 hairs that were in my dish. I still give it a higher than average rating because despite the mishap with my dish, this is a place that is always consistent. You know what you are getting especially if you have been here before. You also get a little ice cream treat at the end which if you like spumoni or vanilla ice cream is a nice way to end the meal. The staff were friendly and efficient when I ordered my food and the wait was not overly long. I have not ordered to go from here in quite a while so I dont know if this has always been the way or not but I liked that the brown butter and cheese came in little cups rather than on the pasta so that if I needed to reheat my spaghetti I could do so without ruining the delicious cheese. I don't come here often because for what I order, it is cheaper to make it myself, but feeling under the weather I decided to splurge and get the dish from Spaghetti Factory. A bunch of my co workers and I came here before a concert at the factory and it was perfect. We had a group of 10 so we made a reservation. When we got there we were seated right away. The waiter came up and got our drinks order very quickly. To eat I got the lobster crab ravioli and it came with a salad and dessert. With the salad I got the creamy pesto dressing and it was delicious. The ravioli was also very good and was the perfect amount. For dessert I got the spumoni. This was my favorite part! This was the perfect place to come for our big group where we could get in and out (1.5 hours) with plenty of time to get to our concert. read more

In the past we have always visited the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown St. Louis. We opted for this location as it was closer to our travel destination. We had a reservation and arrived a few minutes early. Several groups walked in after us, without reservations, and were seated before us. It wasn't a huge deal, but we only had a group of 2 and these groups had 3-5. Our server was attentive and pleasant. The Factory Punch was more sweet than anything else, I didn't really taste the sour hint in it at all. The spinach dip was delicious and paired excellently with the grilled bread. We were provided with a complimentary loaf of bread which was warm. There wasn't anything really good or bad to say about it. I paid an additional $2 to add a meatball to the side. The meatball was a good size and warm, but somewhat lacked in flavor. The entree I chose was spinach and cheese ravioli. The first couple of bites I had I did not enjoy. However, once I wiped away the marinara sauce they put on the ravioli I did enjoy it. We ended dinner with the complimentary ice cream, which was delicious as always. They were having an anniversary sale on some of the dinner selections so we got those. Prices were extremely reasonable. The bread was good. The salads and soup were perfect. Of the 4 entree's, the 2 Spaghetti with Meat Sauce was dry, the Spaghetti with Mushroom Sauce was served with burnt mushrooms. The Spaghetti with Mizithra Cheese was decent. The Italian Sausage was tasty. Asked the server for fresh mushrooms to replace the burnt once and after 20 minutes, I realized the cook was not going to deliver. If I decide to come back, I hope to have a better experience. Note: The cook knew the mushrooms were burnt when he placed them on the dish to be served. Great food with a beautiful ambiance from a huge fireplace in the lobby and a bar on the opposite side to the dining area itself! The Dining Area has a replica of a Street Car that you can sit in as if you are riding along down the streets of St. Louis while you eat your meal. I'm ecstatic that they brought back the Chicken Picatta that has been gone since covid. There was a limited menu. I highly recommend this dish. The broccoli was good but normally it's better. There's usually more down butter. A portion where I tasted the butter was excellent. I usually can get some extra from the serving plate. That was missing. We went for my father's birthday and our waitress didn't know how to attend to a table of her life depended on it. She placed a tray of bread on top of a drink menu almost toppling the whole thing over and when we asked what the birthday dessert was directly she said she had a surprise. All our meals came with ice cream and the one for the birthday boy was an ice cream with a candle. She could at least been direct and said we don't offer anything for birthdays but a candle. Also when the bread was done no one picked up the tray and I felt like I was throwing plates at them to take instead of them asking to clear our table. Went to the spaghetti factory earlier this week with a couple of friends to catch up. They set us in the back of the trolley, which was a perfect booth for us. As always, the food was really good. Had not been here in a while and thought their prices have gone up quite a bit but I guess everybody else is have as well. I have attached a copy of the most recent menu. I always get the manager special with half Rich Meat Sauce and half Mizithra Cheese & Brown Butter cheese. It seemed like their portions got a little smaller. But for 1895 you get a salad, bread, pasta, and spumoni for dessert. We had a great time and sat there talking for three hours. Definitely the perfect spot for catching up with a friend. Wish this place was better. I came recently for dinner and basically had a dinner set, which comes with salad, bread, and your spaghetti of choice. There isn't much to comment on the salad and the bread; both were fine. As for the Spaghetti, I got the half and half since I wanted to try more than one sauce: I got the white clam sauce and the rich meat sauce. I firstly didn't think there was a ton of pasta included, which was curious since it's a pretty cheap item if you want to pile on a bit more of. The white clam sauce was a cream based sauce, which I was really not expecting because it didn't say this on the menu ingredients, and also because this isn't what white clam sauce typically looks like (I think? maybe it's done different in St. Louis). As for the rich meat sauce, curiously I really couldn't find any meat in it, even though it's in the name. I get that maybe it's more about the sauce flavoring, but I kinda felt the sauce flavor was just okay. Lastly, I thought the pasta was a little watery; they probably could have drained the excess water a little better. I think overall this cost my like 20-25, which I felt was a lot of money for decidedly average pasta. I love this restaurant, which has been in San Pedro Square since before I moved to California, 40 years or so ago. Its not an elegant place, but it is a warm and inviting Itaillian restaurant with good pasta, a great wait staff and very reasonable prices. When you are there, you're fam....oops got confused for a second, it is consistently good pasta, has a very nice wait staff and accomodates large parties. Came here on Presidents' Day after a toddler playdate because the Olive Garden had a half-hour wait, and I'm glad the Old Spaghetti Factory was nearby! We had a large group for a family reunion and decided to go to Old Spaghetti Factory in Chesterfield since they were one of the few places that would take a reservation for a large group and also because of the fun ambiance since we had several children in the group. It exceeded our expectations. The service was great and food was delicious. I recall going to the original location in St. Louis on Lacledes Landing decades ago as a renowned meeting place. The bread and garlic butter always scrumptious! I just came from having lunch with a few friends. Food was wonderful. Perfectly cooked. The service however was awful. My friends and I ordered from the senior menu (we are all over 60, but we're a "young 60) mostly because the portions/options and price were ideal. According to the menu, the senior deal is a soup or salad, lunch portion main entree and then a small dish of ice cream. We all selected the salad, which comes with a creamy pesto, when we asked about different dressings we were told there wasn't anything else we could choose. I thought that perhaps it was pre-mixed/tossed. Acceptable reason. That was not the case. The dressing was poured on top. No apologies no reason was given for the lack of dressing choices. Whatever. Moving on. Entrees came. They were delicious. We were given the bill after finishing our entrees. We were never offered the ice cream. So we asked about the ice cream included in the senior special. We were told it was not included. Wow. We checked the menu again on the way out and confirmed that it was indeed included in the special. Another note, the restaurant was clean and looked to be well maintained. Management should look into retraining at the very least this server. Terrible service. read more

High energy and friendly, we gave her several compliments! I haven't been to OSF in many years and decided to try thr Lasagna... it was great! Ample size, I could only finish 1/2. Several layers, cheesy and great flavor in the meat sauce. This meal qualifies for the Salad (or Soup) and the Spumoni or Vanilla as dessert. Oh, the spumoni! The bread, the dressing, the sauces. What a meal. Yes, it's a chain, but it's one of my absolute favorites! My family and I have been coming here for many years. The downtown location is awesome, and has wonderful character, but the area down by the Landing isn't the best, in terms of safety, and this one is closer for us. I always go for the Potpourri: a sampler of Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter, Meat, Clam and Marinara Sauces. The best part is when it all meshes together and you get bites of two or three of them mixed together. Sop up the sauce with some soft, warm bread and it's positively heavenly. The spumoni comes with the meal - and never disappoints. You won't walk out hungry. Great atmosphere, and fast and friendly service, consistently. read more

I absolutely loved loved loved my garlic shrimp fettuccine. I mean (insert chef's kiss)!!! My husband had spaghetti and meatballs. Unfortunately, he hated his. He said that his meatballs reminded him of old dried up wrinkly balls and had absolutely no taste. They also only put a very small portion of red sauce on His noodles which made his pasta super dry. My nephew and neice had chicken Parmigiana, and they were not impressed either. They compared their meals to fazoli's, but triple the price.
