The food was absolutely amazing in a cozy yet upscale cottage ambiance. Many simple classics made with produce from the farm which equals a fresh wow factor. The fact chef takes his time to serve drinks and food was a very nice touch. Disappointed two items which should have come out warm arrived cold, including our soup. I left very satisfied and full, but my husband left still hungry. I'd say each course came about 30 minutes after the next and by the time the next course came he was starving. Everyone is served at the same time so their is definitely no chance in "rushing" the tastings. Hard to pay a hefty price for dinner and still need to get food on the way home. If you are an early to bed person or have something to do early the next day, this is not your place! We weren't expecting a 4 hour dinner....I think we were ready for bed by course 3 to be honest.

We love dining at Stone Soup during their special brunch and dinner events. The food is always amazing as well as the service. We love the ambiance of the old farm house and grounds and it's always decorated so beautifully for the season! I would highly recommend going to one of their events and don't forgot they have an amazing wine selection!

We have been trying to get a reservation for months and when we saw that they were closing, we were devastated! Thank goodness they opened back up for seasonal dinner series. I recommend following on instagram. This is where they post when their tickets go live. We attended the Spring Dinner series. They also offered a Parisian Brunch but that was sold out. There were 5 courses total and each were great! The wine pairing was exquisite. You can tell it is a family establishment. The chef's wife was the Sommelier and their son and daughter were the waiters. The chef personally came out with each course to explain the dish. The vibe is cozy and romantic. We can't wait to try the brunch!

Stone Soup Cottage is a delightful dining experience. Every month the menu changes. Located I believe on a farm, we almost passed the place up. I'm not too familiar with Cottellville and I'm pretty sure I just misspelled it. It looks as if it's in an old home but I think building is new. No matter, it's very charming and would be a great place for an engagement party or special event. They have a large patio that I can imagine would be great when the weather permits. The night we were there, it was hot and only early June. They have a very large gravel lot so no problems with parking. The menu is 6/7 courses. Sorry, it's been a while. Check the website for the current offerings. Everything was really good. The chef delivers most of the food and explains it to all at the table. If you like, you can order the wine flight which is a separate charge. I wouldn't pass this up as the wines were very good and well paired with the food. A separate server served the wine and answered questions. They do have a full bar with drink specials. We had Champagne at the beginning of the meal and there was no extra charge. If you have a special occasion and want something different, try Stone Soup Cottage. Make reservations early as they sell out!!

Okay so I have been dying to visit this place. Jeez is hard to get in. We made reservations more than 3 months in advance. But the wait was so totally worth it. Stone soup cottage is tucked away in Cottleville, down a winding private road. At the end of the road is a parking lot and stone soup cottage. It is a dimly lit farmhouse style venue large wooden doors and panels and understated elegance. I didn't get many pictures because it was so cozy and it seemed like a shame to click away and spoil the mood. Long story short, they have a 6 course menu and amuse bouche with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine with an option to get a wine pairing with each course. They also have wine, beer and cocktails. The place setting is formal and with a multitude of knives and forks, the portions are small and perfect and the leisurely paced. It is a very enjoyable experience . It is unlike any meal I've had in years. The food was delicious but I won't go into details because the menu changes every month. It is a truly wonderful and luxurious experience for a special occasion with a special someone.

I attended a wedding here. I loved everything about it. The service and food were unparalleled. The ceremony was outside, and the setting was very pretty. The atmosphere inside is warm and comfortable but modern. I loved the colors and the decor. The tablescape was simple but really elegant. We had a five-course plated tasting, and each course was delicious. The smoked mussel chowder was probably my favorite. I had a glass of cab, which was great, but they had paired a Bordeaux with dinner, which was even better. The bread was also excellent as well. I wanted to use it to sop up my soup and sauces, but the butter they served with it was so good, too! I didn't order any cocktails, but others who did said they were all great. The service was excellent. They very much go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience. I think if they didn't have something you wanted, they'd probably go out and buy it for you. Probably one of the best dining experiences I've had. The couple who got married are super foodies, and it says a lot that they shelled out to have their wedding here.

    Great presentation.

Cottage to Carriage was an excellent experience! She crab soup was amazing. Braised Beef Rib was fall apart tender. The Ginger Gateau with Lemon Curd was heavenly. Along with the bottle of French wine the meal was superb!

We were able to make one of each with great ingredients. I first made a savory crepe with turkey, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes and peppers. It's in a little strip mall in Chesterfield Valley. There are a few little tables outside on the sidewalk. It was a little cool so we opted to sit inside. There isn't a hostess stand, but a server saw us and came and told us to sit wherever we would like. There are about a dozen tables in there and I believe they all seat two, but staff would push them together for larger groups. When we got there, there were a fair number of tables open and by the time we left, people were waiting for tables. There are also four seats at a counter. It's not a huge space, but it's a decent size and really cute! We ordered our lattes and checked out the menu. We had to make hard decisions because everything sounded good! We decided we were going to get savory crepes. We both really enjoyed our meals - it was so good! Our server (can't remember her name) was great! The food was fantastic, the bruschetta and goat cheese salad were so yummy. The dressing on the salad was incredible and everything tasted so fresh. The upstairs space is super cute and perfect for hosting a party. I also loved the thoughtful touches like blankets available for the patio if you're sitting outside. They no longer have Chicken Marsala, much to my companion's dismay. He opted instead for Spicy Shrimp pasta. It looked and smelled amazing. He said if Chicken Marsala was a 10, the shrimp dish was a 5. He ate it because he was hungry and he's not one to fuss. I thought the sauce looked broken, but maybe it was supposed to look chunky? At the bottom of the bowl remained a pool of oil. Ick. (See photos) I got a flatbread with gf crust (special order). The server said it had a mascarpone roux, and I appreciated his alertness. I took a pill before eating. The pizza crust was tender and flavorful. It needed another 3-4 minutes in the oven as the middle was doughy. The squash and cheeses made for warm, gooey comfort food. After one slice, the cheese was too much for me. If you say the cheesier the better, this is for you. Or share with several friends and consume a fitting beverage. I'll go back and hope for a better outcome.

The restaurant is homey with deep booths, generous portions, and a great price point. They had a decent selection of wine and I distinctly recalled the steak was really good. While it was a touch overcooked it still was incredibly tender and flavorful. Their wine pours were generous. The staff was a bit hit and miss. Upon entering the hosts stared at me like I stepped off an alien spaceship. They just stared saying nothing. I tried to engage in conversation to break the ice and that didn't work. Finally they asked where I wanted to sit - bar or booth - and then was seated. Our waiter was uncertain but enthusiastic. It kinda was a charming combination as we had no time demands. When we arrived, the staff at the front desk seemed short with their responses and gave the impression they didn't want to be there. We were seated in a booth near the kitchen, and there was a strong odor that smelled like dirty, wet rags. There were also several bugs flying around our table, which made for an unpleasant dining experience. The restaurant itself looks nice inside, and although there is construction going on outside, they are open for business. As for the food, it was very disappointing. We ordered the Philly egg rolls, Caesar salad, Chicken Parmesan, and mashed potatoes, and none of the dishes met our expectations. Everything lacked quality and flavor, especially compared to our previous visit. To make matters worse, I became very sick after leaving the restaurant. This was the only meal I had eaten that day, so I strongly suspect something I ate was the cause. While I can't say with certainty what made me ill, I hope the restaurant looks into its food handling and preparation practices so that no one else has a similar experience. It's unfortunate because we really enjoyed this restaurant the last time we visited. Based on this visit, however, we won't be returning unless significant improvements are made.
