Massa's is a well known local favorite for Italian food. Recently visited the Bridgeton Mo location and pleasantly surprised at the upgraded flooring and it looks great! Unsure when it was done but there was carpet in the past.... This is a smaller dining area and there is a full bar in the back where you can pick up to go orders as well. Upon arrival we did not have a wait to get a table (must have been perfect timing). Our waitress came over quickly to take drink orders and brought over the tasty Italian bread! Our choices for the evening was a large salad to share, carbonara pasta and the Cajun pasta. We knew to only order one meal, but ordered two and had plenty of leftovers! The salad was amazing as always! Great dressing, cheese, artichokes, what's not to love! Our pasta arrived in large white pasta bowls. The Cajun pasta is loaded with the most delectable, creamy sauce and shrimp! The Carbonara was creamy with perfect noodles and the best flavors. Truly think this location has the best pasta! I was in the mood for pasta and decided to give this place a try since I'd never been. I came a little after they opened and was welcomed by several people. Someone immediately came by to give me water and menus. Before I came in I saw that they had pesto, so I knew I was going to try that. When my server came by, I ordered the peach martini and got a side Caesar with my pasta. The drink came first followed by the salad. The cocktail was so refreshing and was even better than I expected. It's on the sweet side but isn't overpowering. The salad was probably my favorite out of everything (including the pasta). The dressing isn't like a normal Caesar as I found it to be tangy but in a pleasant way. I also love that they didn't skimp on the parmesan cheese! Last but not least was the entree. Pesto is my favorite and while I wouldn't go as far as saying im a pesto snob, I know what its supposed to taste like and also, when it's not quite right. Unfortunately their pesto fell into the latter. It was def missing a couple ingredients as it didn't have much of a taste. I found it to be bland. I had a few bites but wasn't interested. I boxed it up bc I felt bland leaving behind a lot of pasta. Overall, my server was incredibly sweet and the service was great. I'm not writing this place off but def won't be getting their pesto again. There's other dishes that are worth a shot, so I'll try those next time. read more

I didn't realize there was a Massa's in north county. It's very close to the airport and I found it on my way to get gas. I'm partial to Massa's since my wife and I went to the south county restaurant on our first date over 30 years ago. I didn't have much time so I just ordered the fried ravioli to go. They were delicious and hot. Love the marinara. The inside of this restaurant is pretty swanky. I'd like to go back when I have more time. The waitresses were hustling but very friendly. read more

Massa's was so nice to accommodate our group of 13 very last minute without hesitation, and that's hard to find these days. I was a first timer but others in the group were so excited to find out this was our destination. It's a dark, cozy, romantic atmosphere. Old school, just how I like it. Nice little gem of a restaurant with super flavorful food. My family walked in without a reservation and were served well. The atmosphere gives date night ambiance, and I will be back. We went as a group of five on a Friday night and the place was packed. It is a small, intimate setting but due to being so busy it was extremely loud. We had to shout across the table to hear each other and the two people at the end of the table just had to have their own conversation because we couldn't hear each other. I only say this because on a busy night, you too will probably be shouting to be heard. It wasn't bad, it was like a loud Italian wedding! We had the Italian salad with sweet vinegarette. This is a staple and I love it! And a portebella with seafood - excellent! The waitress, Mary, was so nice, she was helpful, and kept us in warm bread! There is live singing! It is an unassuming building but Mary said this was the original Massas! The restaurant is in an old house,The prices were reasonable and the servers were pleasant and attentive. I had the chicken parm which was tender and delicious. Others in our party had chicken with broccoli in a crème sauce, fettuccini Alfredo and spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms. All enjoyed their entrees. I had the combination dish. Overall, it wasn't bad. I'm not sure if they use provell cheese in this dish, but it definitely had a cream taste to it. That I really didn't care for. My wife had the cannelloni dish, and she said it was wonderful. The daughter had the chicken Alfredo, and it looked amazing. The building is tired they really need to reinvest back into the building. It's a good thing the lights were really dim inside. Otherwise, I'm sure most customers would be appalled. Finally the service was excellent. From the hostess to the waitress. Penne noodles with hearty Cajun sauce. Simple but great. All meals are served with complimentary bread. Service was a bit slow, but I do understand due to the long wait I had to get a seat. My wife and revisted an old fave and if not for a couple of minir things we were happy to see the food was still fanatastic - filet with broc and cheese for me and tutta marre for my wife. My wife's dish could have used a more creamy sauce and more of it. My filet was spot on. Fun, dimly lit, little Italian place with excellent food and outstanding service. Went in tonight and was greeted by a super enthusiastic young lady who showed me to my table immediately. After looking over the menu she offered a couple of suggestions and made me promise the next time in town I would try her favorite filet dish. I tried the chicken parmigiana and it was excellent. I am normally a salad fan, but this house salad with ranch was the best I have ever had. My waitress kept me well stocked on warm bread and drinks. This Italian restaurant was highly recommended by the staff at the hotel I was staying at this past week. Both the front desk representative and shuttle driver recommended the Cajun Pasta, so I had to try it out. The flavoring of the cajun sauce was not to my liking, personally. Not sure if it was due to my expectations or just not my style overall. It was not that it was too spicy or any of that as it did have a kick, I just wasn't a fan of the overall flavor. That being said Adam at the bar made the overall experience worthwhile and is the only reason I would go back to this location. I would definitely be willing to try out some other dishes and sit in the bar area again for Adam's service. I also tried a side Cesar Salad that is made in house, you can taste the anchovies in the dressing. Not my thing but that is as authentic as it gets from a Cesar perspective.
