Omg ever since we tried it. I have been thinking about going back. Honestly this place has just became my Saint Louis top 5 restaurant. First of all, great environment, offer inside and outside seating. The drink selection were amazing, their mojito was so fresh and delicious. For the dishes we ended up with the risotto, the Yukon potato, and the spicy shrimp pasta. Honestly it blew me away. The flavor and taste was right on. For people who likes more bland and simple taste it might feel a little overpowering but for someone who grew up with Asian seasoning and flavor it was like heaven. I will be back many more times because I would like to try everything on the menu and I will be inviting everyone I know to try as well! Service was great, you can tell staff are busy but they are very attentive, parking could be a little tricky but there are many places you could park down the street or just in parking lots behind Main Street and just walk to the place. Went here again but this time with the in-laws and D. Ordered an app of spinach artichoke dip which was really good. The chips were more like slightly toasted pita breads. Adding the dip on top made it more of little pizza bites instead. Table favorite! Rigatoni alla vodka is my favorite pasta and I've had it at multiple establishments including my own kitchen and this one wasn't anything special. I actually couldn't taste the alla vodka part at all. It really just tasted like cheesy pasta with salmon. No real flavor. I guess that's why it's not listed as a crowd favorite. Ambiance is low lit and in the main dinning area, it can get really loud so if anyone is hard of hearing, it's best to get a reservation outside as it was difficult for one in our party. It didn't help that our waitress would step two steps back away from our table and let other waiters and waitresses pass in front of her instead of behind. Street parking is horrendous but my in-laws were able to find a spot right out front. We opted for the parking lots in the back as we don't mind walking a bit. Normally, we love eating here, so today's meal was disappointing. The service was excellent but the food lacked the finesse of the past. They no longer have Chicken Marsala, much to my companion's dismay. He opted instead for Spicy Shrimp pasta. It looked and smelled amazing. He said if Chicken Marsala was a 10, the shrimp dish was a 5. He ate it because he was hungry and he's not one to fuss. I thought the sauce looked broken, but maybe it was supposed to look chunky? At the bottom of the bowl remained a pool of oil. Ick. (See photos) I got a flatbread with gf crust (special order). The server said it had a mascarpone roux, and I appreciated his alertness. I took a pill before eating. The pizza crust was tender and flavorful. It needed another 3-4 minutes in the oven as the middle was doughy. The squash and cheeses made for warm, gooey comfort food. After one slice, the cheese was too much for me. If you say the cheesier the better, this is for you. Or share with several friends and consume a fitting beverage. We had such a great experience at Bella Vino Wine Bar! I attended a baby shower there and it was the perfect spot to host a gathering. The food was fantastic, the bruschetta and goat cheese salad were so yummy. The dressing on the salad was incredible and everything tasted so fresh. They even made non-alcoholic, decaf espresso martinis for us which were sooo good. The staff was also incredibly kind and accommodating. The upstairs space is super cute and perfect for hosting a party. I also loved the thoughtful touches like blankets available for the patio if you're sitting outside. I always love a nice evening out in Historic St. Charles! Of course there is plenty of street parking outside. The restaurant is very cozy and unrelated for date night or girls night out! Ambiance was nice and quaint on the inside down stairs. Nice lighting with candles makes it perfect for setting a relaxing tone for the evening. Service was fine, nothing great- just average. All the dinner courses and drinks were delicious, I will definitely return to Bella Vino. I do recommend the spicy shrimp pasta, it was not spicy if you like spicy food. Small but inviting wine bar in old town St Charles with outdoor seating as well. Only thing they don't have is a bar to sit at for solo diners. I was sat at a high top in the corner and kinda felt on display but not too uncomfortable. I like the option of a half bottle when dining alone. The chicken pesto flatbread was a great dinner choice. Great little restaurant that I happened to find while staying in St. Charles on business. They easily accommodated me as a solo diner, and I had a great meal. The broccolini was crisp tender and delicious, and the balsamic flatbread was a nice maybe New Haven-esque thickness dough with the perfect amount of toppings. I ordered gooey butter cake to top it off which came with a nice scoop of cinnamon ice cream. The restaurant is small and intimate, and it almost looks like you're stepping into someone's house. Walk into this adorable historical looking house with cute front and back patios. The decor and the charm was just lovely. Went in for a drink and app, and ordered an espresso martini, old fashioned and the calamari. We have been talking about how amazing the fried spinach that was under the calamari for days! Went to Bella Vino for wine and tapas with some coworkers during a work trip. It's obviously a tapas spot, located in an old brick building in downtown St. Charles. Our large group had a reservation so we were seated quickly. I got some red wine, crab cakes, and the seafood risotto for an entree. The crab cakes were average. They were not jumbo lump, but a mix of jumbo lump and backfin. The rice grains in the seafood risotto were undercooked, but it tasted OK otherwise. Generally an inoffensive experience. read more

Highly recommend reservations to get the seating you want. The front patio and back patio have fire pits and heaters which create a very nice ambiance. The inside if cutely decorated and intimate. Food here is always really good! Plates can be described as "large tapas" for most items. For example, my lobster mushroom ravioli was filling enough for a meal. Same with the flatbreads. The asparagus puff pastry(yum!) was also a nice size. I highly recommend ordering at least 3 items and sharing! I would recommend double checking on size with your server as some items such as the dates and calamari are smaller portions(but well worth ordering) Specials are always worth exploring here as well! Nice drink menu that unfortunately isn't posted anywhere online, So including the first page in my review. Oddly, no menus are posted on the website. They do post the food menu on Facebook but it can be hard to find. They do offer Gluten free flatbreads for those that may need to review menus in advance. read more

I made a reservation on the night of a holiday event. We were sat outside by a fire-pit. It was not yet too cold to enjoy the atmosphere. I liked that we could use blankets as well. The service was great, but we did have a bit of a wait for a server, but she quickly apologized for our wait. We always order the top notch bacon wrapped dates. They are on point! Their dates have ruined other appetizers that I've tried elsewhere. Amazing bites of heaven! Wednesday nights they do offer a small selection of half priced wine bottles. I do wish they didn't have such a small selection to choose from, because as one who enjoys wine, I definitely have my favorites. Now, don't get me wrong, I will always go back. For appetizers, we tried the Bella Bonfire and the Calamari. The Bella Bonfire is great for the gram - it's a four cheese fondue set on fire at the table. The calamari was crisp and fresh. For mains we tried the sriracha honey salmon, seafood risotto,spicy shrimp and the lemon rigatoni. Everything was delicious! The portions were smaller Tapas style but definitely filling. Perfect portion for one person. We tried few of their cocktails as well - the espresso martini and an Aperol spritz. Both drinks were well made. For dessert we had the gluten free brownie and the seasonal cobble which was a peach cobbler. Both the desserts were delicious! Service was very prompt . You need reservations and can select from 2 outdoor areas if you want out front to enjoy watching the shoppers stroll by, or can sit just back. Both have fire pits and heaters. We sat indoors because it was a cool and wet night during the pumpkin glow. We got lemon pasta and it was so nice and fresh with light olive coating. Always nice quality ingredients. We arrived extremely early and our table wasn't ready so they offered their back patio with heaters and blankets. The blankets and heaters heated up that room in 5 minutes and we decided to continue to eat out there. The inside was very quaint and set the mood and the back patio area was well lit and decorated with sting lights and flowers. I ordered an espresso martini to start of with and then we ordered a bottle of wine. For dinner we ordered the calamari, fried goat cheese salad, mushroom lobster ravioli, the special of the night (jambalaya ) and was blown away by all the food. After all the reviews, the location and my love for wine I was so excited to try this place. The menu looked great as did most of the reviews. Sad to say that our experience was by far the worst in town. It wasn't very busy but they did have a tasting going on later that night. No one warned us the kitchen would be so slow. I'm all for slow eating and savoring a delicious glass of wine, I would just expect that our server would check in a little more frequently. Had to ask for water 3 times and while we ordered right away it took over 45 minutes to deliver our first dish. Sat for over 2 hours barely got 2 glasses of wine and were mostly ignored. Cancelled our last dish since other tables received 2 dishes in between our 1 glass of wine and dish. I actually had to get up to go cancel and get the check. I felt bad for 2 other tables right by us one of which paid the 65 per person for the tasting and were completely ignored by the chef who came out to talk about the dishes as well as a couple who were ignored so bad they stayed for one drink and left cause no one came back to take their order. Can't say I would even attempt to go back for a second try after the terrible service we witnessed and experienced. The one thing going that we did enjoy was the patio with the fire pit.
