I received an email for $15 off and decided to visit since I have not been in years. Upon initial greeting, the hostess was not very welcoming and there was a different lady that walked us to the table who was even more unfriendly. My date and I decided to ignore as maybe they were not having the best day? The ambiance is always beautiful. We sat on the patio. Dominic was our server and was very friendly and attentive. We ordered lamb chops, pasta for entrees. Order happy hour appetizers, shrimp and eggplant. My two favorite dishes were the lamp chops and shrimp/eggplant. 5000/5, everything was amazing with the exception of initial greeting. I would go again but please coach your front of the house hosts. Enjoy as Brio did not disappoint. This could be one of my favorite, they just need a few tweaks. read more

My family and I had a bad experience on 5/14.. We (22 people) were there for my daughter who graduated from high school that evening. I was able to talk with the General manager after filling out the online form and calling an out of state location to reach the GM. Travis, the general manager contacted me to discuss my issue. I don't know how the issue was handled with his staff but I hope the bartender that got into business that was not his business was handled. *My issue was with the staff but I will add that the chicken and or shrimp alfredo was not a hit. As a part of our graduation week, the family took the graduate out to dinner at Brio Italian restaurant. The restaurant is a well lit spacious spot with a main dinning area and outdoor patio. When we arrived the facility was packed! The appeared a lot of families sharing a bite. Anyway, after our table was prepared we were seated within few minutes. The front of the house was welcoming and apologized for the brief delay. Our server was new to the job but her colleagues stepped up to provide her support. We we a party of twelve and there were several large dining groups this day. We bypassed appetizers and ordered drinks, while a couple ordered dinner salads. Three in the party ordered the chicken fettuccine with added shrimp, two ordered Lamb chops with grilled asparagus and roasted fingerling potatoes, and another ordered Pasta Brio (which included Rigatoni, grilled chicken, mushrooms, spinach, red peppers, roasted red pepper cream sauce). I ordered the lobster and shrimp fettuccine with added salmon (which also included roasted grape tomatoes & green onions in a light cream sauce), another in the party ordered the Salmon salad, another the Chopped salad with grill salmon, and another the Chicken and Spinach fettuccine. Most enjoyed there meals as we didn't hear any complaints. We were just enjoying our dinners and each others company. I've visited this place a number of times, mainly for the ambiance. Most recently I visited with a friend who experienced a tragic loss. Because she wanted to find away from others, we asked to be seated on the patio. For the first time I tried the chicken and spinach Alfredo and was a little disappointed. My friend trued a flatbread and was pleased. We both tried the advertised flight spritzers, and they were absolutely not our thing!! But...I want to give a huge shout out to our server, Grace, who had several tables in the inside {lunch time rush} and still managed to handle our multiple requests while remaining professional, polite and catering. Came here with my coworkers after work on a weekday and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is spacious and the interior is well decorated and organized. Service was excellent and the staff checked in on us regularly. We got the raw meat appetizer which was delicious, also shared the bruschetta sampler which was tasty and easy to share. For entrees, I had the salmon dish and it's full of flavor and perfectly buttery. Overall, great options in a nice setting and a prime location. I would definitely come back again. read more

Brio is big with high ceilings and beautiful columns. With plenty of seating, it is good for big groups. The big booths are comfy and spacious. There are 30 locations across the US, but just the 1 in STL area. Service and food are good, albeit a little pricey. Complimentary bread is nice and warm, a great way to start the meal. Shrimp and Eggplant appetizer $20 - 6 pieces of shrimp on top of lighted breaded and fried eggplant covered in delicious black pepper cream sauce. Pasta Al Vodka $24 - My favorite dish here. Pasta pouches filled with riccota cheese, covered in spicy red sauce and topped with bacon/pancetta. Add a salad for $8 Pasta Brio $22 - The cream sauce was good, but the rigatoni was little too al dente for my preference. They will split dishes for you at no extra charge. Costco have discounted gift cards for Brio ($100 or $80) and you can also get a discount if you use inKind app to pay. Reservations can be made through OpenTable. read more

Got here at 719pm - I just ordered my glass of wine at 752pm after waiting on our waitress because she said she had to clean before waiting on us - I have yet to receive my glass of wine and it's 832pm. Oh look, it's here now because my friend went up to the bar and grabbed it for me. I will come back with another update after our dinner is done. So far the service is TERRIBLE! EDIT: After posting my earlier review, it clearly caught our server's attention and she made that known. She approached me and said, "Whoever Lauren is, sorry for the terrible service," in a noticeably condescending tone. The irony wasn't lost on me as she had time to read the review, yet hadn't had time to bring my wine after 40 minutes of waiting. I was simply documenting our experience as it was happening. As a server myself, it was upsetting to be confronted like that, especially because I would never treat guests the way our party was treated. What makes this disappointing is that the food was genuinely excellent. Everyone at the table had great feedback. I ordered the shrimp and scallop risotto and it was bursting with flavor. After we finished eating, someone who appeared to be a manager came over to ask how everything was. We were honest and said the food was spectacular, but the service fell short. There was no apology. I explained that I had every right to write about our experience and shared that being confronted by the waitress before I even received my dinner felt unprofessional. He responded with silence and grabbed boxes for us. Our party left feeling frustrated and uncared for. At the end of the day, I don't regret writing the review as it reflected our experience in real time. If anything, it seemed to give more attention and assistance at our table after multiple in person complaints went unresolved. It's unfortunate this was our experience, especially given how good the food was. read more

(March 2025) I was here for my beautiful coworker's bridal shower so we had a select menu of: -Fresh fruit platter And entree choices of: -Tuscan Scrambler -Avocado Toast -Berries & Cream Wafles -Stuffed French Toast There were also mimosas and sangrias. I chose the Stuffed French Toast for my entree. We had an amazing wait staff who kept our drinks a flowing and our entrees out at the same time. I will admit for some reason that day, it was really warm and thankfully they were able to turn the heat down. Another coworker shared her Tuscan Scramble with me so I was able to sample two entrees. I did enjoy the Stuffed French Toast more. I was not a big fan to Italian sausage in my egg scramble. The Stuffed French Toast had the perfect balance of sweet and acidic (orange zest and orange cream cheese). That was my first time having brunch there and it was pretty good! read more

I have never experienced the "horror" stories of some of the others on this site. Always had someone to greet us, always had very attentive staff and food has been really good. I've had lunch or dinner there at least 25 to 30 times over the years. Prices are a bit high but most decent restaurants cost more today. I give it a thumbs up. read more

In my opinion, this restaurant is underrated. My friends and I have enjoyed the appetizers and entrees we've had here - including the shrimp and eggplant, sausage rigatoni, and pasta alla vodka. The bread came with butter but you can request olive oil and balsamic vinegar which I always prefer! I like the variety of menu items for both food and drinks. We ended up at Brio Frontenac because the wait was too long at our original restaurant choice and we are so happy that we did. Our server Brooke was delightful, professional, and efficient, and her recommendations were spot on. We always have the shrimp with eggplant, because it's delicious, original and a combination I've never seen anywhere else. The signature pasta dish was also perfect. The ambience is casual but white tablecloth elegant, the food is delicious, the drinks are ample, and, as I told Brooke, the same price as cheesecake factory with a much more upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. The outside has powerful heaters so that it's pleasant even when it's 50°. I hate to give it too good a review because it's been our sort of secret go to spot. Five stars for sure. read more

Brio Italian Grill used to be one of favorites and visited frequently. We haven't been there for a while so we decided to give it a try again with some friends. The place is still very nice inside with great ambience. The food was terrific. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their dishes. The pricing is definitely on the high side. The chicken Milanese I had was $30. Most pastas were $25+. Food was good but probably better values around for same or better quality. The service however leaves something to be desired. I guess we live at an age where handing all the guests, their silverware, plates, water glasses, drinks, meals, etc. is a thing of the past. Our waiter like others we've experienced of late just set everything on the corner of the table, and we had to pass them around to each other. He was kind enough to drop off 3 leftover containers at the end, again all stacked together on the corner of the table so we could box up our leftovers on our own. We saw another waitress boxing her tables leftovers so I'm guessing this was just our guys process. Finally dropped off the checks, again just setting them down then returning with them in their little folios all stacked together on the corner of the table for us to figure out who's was who's. When you're paying $30 for a pasta dish I just guess I expect a higher class of service than what we encountered. Other than that, it was a great meal. read more

Brio has become one of our favorite spots for an early dinner during happy hour. They offer a large selection and variety of special drinks and delicious food items portioned large enough to make a meal or fun to share 2 or 3 plates, all more than reasonably priced. Some of our favorites are the flatbread pizza, the Brio burger and fries, the awesome strawberry Balsamic chicken salad, the fresh avocado caprese, the shrimp and eggplant dish and the calamari. They have a nice large oval bar area with additional high top tables as well as a big beautiful patio just outside the bar area with lots of seating, which is so enjoyable on a pretty day! The excellent service from our bartenders and servers is what makes our experience extra enjoyable. We came at 2:30 pm the last Sunday in December 2024. My family and I had a great dining experience and we truly believed it was the server assigned to our table. Our server from the moment we walked in was attentive and made sure to get our orders out in a timely manner yet made sure everything was accurate and she amazed us. My only concern is I did not write down her name so we could ask for her in the future when we return. Brunch menu is where I ordered my meal and I found the smoked salmon and eggs Benedict to be an item I would order again although I want to try other brunch items off the menu next time we visit during brunch hours. This is a nice restaurant and we were lucky enough to sit outside on a beautiful evening. Our cocktails were very good. The bread service was just so so, nothing spectacular. We did love the bruschetta sampler though, excellent and very flavorful. For dinner, our friends ordered a lasagna and split it in half because it was so huge and they still both had some to take home. My husband had chicken Milanese and I had the chicken Caprese. He and I both enjoyed our chicken dishes. We also split a Caesar salad, which was not good at all. There was no dressing on it. Basing it on food I would say a 3 1/2 to 4. The service however last night was very very slow. I don't know if it was just a very busy night with proms going on, but that was probably our biggest complaint was the service. InKind is new to St. Louis so there are only 4 restaurants that have partnered with the app. Brio was the only one we hadn't been to. I hadn't been here before but my boyfriend had years ago. He remembers liking the food. We got a Friday night reservation. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant is very dated but appears clean and well kept. Our server was friendly and attentive. Because we wanted to make sure we spent $100, we ordered more food than normal. We would've gotten a bottle of wine but I am a bit under the weather. The table bread was warm. Of the 4 plates that were on the table for the bread 2 were dirty. We ordered 2 caesar salads and a tomato caprese salad along with our entrees. Everything came out at once so we hurried through our salad to make sure the entree was still warm. The caesar salad was great! Maybe my favorite thing I ate. The caprese was okay. I wouldn't order it again. Tomato slices too thick and the mozzarella was not fresh. Our entrees were good. I ordered the Ravioli Di Bello. The mushrooms and mushroom sauce were a little salty. My boyfriend ordered lobster and shrimp fettuccine and loved it. I was able to get hot tea and lemon after the meal which I greatly appreciated. We weren't charged for it either. Overall an okay meal. The inKind coupon made it worth it. We're definitely City people who prefer The Hill for a nice Italian meal. I don't see us returning. read more

Freshly cooked replacements were,at best, warm. However the creme brule was hot and looked curdled. This is Applebee's level food at two times the price. Look elsewhere. read more

Brio is a spot I used to go to only for special occasions growing up with my mom. Back visiting St. Louis, I needed a good mid-day lunch and this was the choice. As soon as I read the gorgonzola lamb chops I knew that's what I wanted. They were excellent, great flavor and very tender. Could've been larger portion. The sautéed spinach on the side was a nice touch, but it just wasn't enough. It needed a broccolini or even more premium a Brussel. I also felt the dish needed a side of mashed potatoes, so I added one as soon as I saw the order come out. Overall everything had a good flavor and it's worth a try. It has good classy casual vibes, something moreso you'd find in a LA, Miami or Chicago but it's in St. Louie. My bartender was great also btw. read more

Huge fan of Brio! I work in the area so it honestly has become a frequent of mine. Rather I'm dining in or carrying out they've never failed my tastebuds. When I'm there I love to sit at the bar and get a nice Hendrix gimlet which they make very well. For my meal I typically stick to their shrimp & eggplant with a cup of lobster bisque . Let me tell ya! You cannot go wrong with that combo. The complimentary bread is also a huge plus of course.
