The caliber of time, talent and dedication that it has taken to create this detailed glimpse into the past is something to be admired, indeed. I remember when Baker Street West was just the upstairs to a really cool bookstore. Now it has been transformed completely. The bar doesn't serve alcohol yet, but there are soft drinks and pastries to enjoy. There is a tea shoppe, an apothecary and of course, Mr. Sherlock Holmes' personal study (complete with bear skin rug). It's so fun just to walk around the rooms and take it all in. If you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, this is your new favorite place.

THE SETUP Such a crazy fun environment that propels you back in time to some Medieval Castle-style Banquet Room! (Not quite - what was it with horses and Knight? "Knight's Table"? Not quite THAT elaborate, but still so.much.fun!) The guest list was mixed: there were 12 people in Bambi's party crew, and then there were two (2) smaller parties of six (6) each so there was total of 24(?) people (there were additions/subtractions of peeps leaving/coming off & on throughout the evening within each group). There was of course, the Banquet dinner! And then there was an aftershow (during dessert) with a bona fide Las Vegas magician who apparently flies in every Thursday to do this midweek show. THE FOOD! The courses were quite elaborate! Ahead of time, Bambi got our preferences for the main course (pretty much the same for the side dishes for each main course): Filet Mignon, Seasoned Chicken, Fish(?), and a Vegetable Lasagna. The dessert was a cheesecake! THE LOWDOWN Excellent experience! And it was all about the experience! You can go to a restaurant any ole time, but to celebrate a regal birthday with friends and loved ones takes it a notch up, sometimes the place itself deserves to be a notch up!

From the outside it doesn't look like a restaurant- but inside it is Beautifully decorated in an Elegant, dark Victorian theme! Once the chamber doors open, you are lead by the Hostess to your seat at a large dining table with approximately 20 guests. The 5-course dinner is Exquisite and carefully prepared and includes an appetizer, seasonal salad (ours had Summer strawberries), a palet cleanser Sorbet, your entree/veggies, then dessert. There are several entrees to choose from. We had prime rib was 2" thick; cooked to Perfection! Our Hostess was incredible - she was very attentive and made everyone feel special. After our dessert was cleared, a Magician appeared and the Magic show began! The dinner and show takes about 3 hours. We were very impressed. Chipper Lowell, the magician was super energetic, funny and impressive in his magic tricks as well as showmanship. The theater is a small cozy place where every seat feels like front seat. The show was super interactive and he involved and genuinely engaged with nearly everyone in the audience. The jokes were funny but yet very clean and family friendly. We all had a good time and would highly recommend. The location of the theater is super convenient in the Heavenly shoppes location and you could park in the parking lot across the street for 2 hours. We didn't purchase any food at the theater since we just had a late lunch. No outside food is allowed.

Near the Chocolate and Champagne shop. We arrived at 4:13 pm and entered on the ground floor. We assumed they were selling popcorn , as we could smell it, but sent us to the 3rd floor, without offering us any popcorn as an option to take to the show. It was a bit confusing as when we entered the show people had drinks and popcorn. They also had a bar right outside the theater to the show and I overheard someone say you can only take water into the show. Looking around after we sat down we saw many people with cocktails and other drinks. For those of you that are thinking about going to the show. I believe you can buy popcorn on the 1st floor and you can stop at the bar on the 3rd floor and get your drinks before going to the theater. In addition they allow you up to the 3rd floor early, but the doors to the theater open 15 minutes before the show. I also heard that the 4:30 show was geared to kids and the 7:30 show was geared to adults. This we choose the 4:30pm show thinking it would be pg. it was more like pg 13. Some adult humor was thrown in. I'm really glad we didn't go to the 7:30 show as that would have been too much for me. The magic show was great. I have no idea how he performed his tricks. He was both funny and entertaining. I highly Reccomend this as part of your entertainment when you're up in Tahoe.

They measure the pours at each machine and it's quite interactive, but it felt like a bunch of the kegs were empty (so the corresponding dispensers were not working), and there were definitely some issues with the RFID system that they, to their credit, did get sorted out. Chips and guac are good and hard to mess up, the carne asada tacos were very good, the chicken tacos were pretty forgettable. 3.5 stars. Tempted to rate higher but they seem to promise a bit more than they delivered.
