We came to Mystique Dining to celebrate my husband's birthday because he really wanted a magic show with dinner. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea at first, but since it was his birthday, we made his wish come true! Ordering tickets on the website was easy and straightforward. The dining room is intimate, with one large communal table and two high-top tables for couples. We arrived about five minutes before doors opened. I was honestly surprised by how cool the decor was. It's a little cheesy, but it totally works. The lighting, ambiance, and overall vibe pull you in and make it fun. You can't help but enjoy it. Our two hosts were personable and professional. They served all the dishes and explained the rules for the evening. Once everyone finished eating, the magic show began. The food was super delicious and I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. The prime rib is absolutely the way to go. It was soooo good, and the sides were cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also offer chicken and pasta. I saw a few people order those, and they didn't look as appealing, but the prime rib definitely delivered. The cheesecake for dessert was amazing and perfect ending to the meal ! It's definitely on the pricier side, but the food and overall experience made it worth it. The magic show itself was a little "meh" ....not super mind-blowing, but the magician was kind and entertaining. He and the hosts made a special effort to wish my husband a happy birthday and even included him in part of the show, which made the night extra special. We loved the evening. I'm already planning to come back in October for their Halloween-themed dinner show!

What a fun experience! The dinner is delicious, the atmosphere mysterious, service was excellent ( especially Steve) and the magician, Jade, remarkable! She engaged the audience with her incredible magic and left all of us asking "How did she do that ?!" Highly recommend , especially for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.

Looking for something different to do that is actually fun, exciting, and won't leave you feeling like there could have been more? This is the experience you actually want to get in to. Mystique is a 'dinner and a show' venue in old town Folsom on Sutter Street. Making reservations online was easy and you get to pre-select your meal online when you make those reservations. They also run gift certificate specials so be sure to look for those. Pricing may seem high at first. BUT take into consideration what the evening will entail. This is a first class dinner AND a first rate show for your evening. The seating is very limited and they book up quickly. The interior dining venue is elaborate and 'magical' in design and decor. Perfect for a magic show! Our hostesses were friendly, humorous and specific about how the evening would proceed. All of our fellow guests were super friendly, talkative and all of us had a great time and conversations throughout the night. The 5 course dinner (4 plus a palate cleanser) was excellent and a tremendous amount of food was served. Most people took home food for later. I was rather surprised as how large the portions were. And, it was all well prepared and very good. The entire room of diners were all quite impressed. Now, on to the show.... After our meals were completed, and dishes cleared, our magician host came out and the show began. Experiencing a magician performing up close is something to behold. He was excellent with his talents, and had everyone in stitches with the comedy. This is an audience participation event which is fantastic. Most everyone played a part in one or more of his feats of illusion and mind bending abilities. My partner and I woke up the next morning still attempting to figure out how he was able to do them. I highly recommend getting online and consider an evening here. And dress to impress. This is a fine dining experience.

This place is the best. They have the BEST entertainment in town. They have completely made right the discrepancy!! I cannot wait to go back!!!

What a great and unique dining AND magic show experience. I surprised my husband and took him here for his 52nd bday. He was soooo happy and he can't wait to go back for their Halloween dinner which per the ladies that work there is super specials. Now, it's not cheap by any means. BUT, look for their coupons online for some great savings. Prime Rib was a 10!' Staff was super friendly too.

Service was absolutely amazing. Found this through Facebook and went to celebrate my friend's birthday. The food was absolutely incredible. Started off with appetizer, salad, palate cleanser (no picture), entree and dessert. Loved the ambiance, the decor, and everything about it, would def want to go again and see the different shows they have to offer!

Came here for my birthday it is an expensive visit but if u can find online coupons you shouldn't be spending too much. But the food was different and delicious they atmosphere is cozy and fun then the show itself is amazing and group interactions are fun also i would highly recommend for birthdays ( it is kid friendly ) & date nights. The servers where nice the service was immaculate one of my better birthday experiences

This was hands down one of the best experiences I've had! The venue was absolutely beautiful and created the perfect atmosphere for the evening. The hostesses were professional, welcoming, and had such a great sense of humor -- they really made everyone feel comfortable and engaged. The food was fantastic -- everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. It truly elevated the entire experience and made the magic show even more enjoyable. Speaking of the show, it was entertaining, interactive, and so much fun from start to finish. You can tell a lot of care goes into every detail. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable night out!

Outstanding experience from start to finish. The high quality food is full of bold and well-balanced flavors. What really sets this place apart is the magic show included with the meal!

Amazing experience! My friend and I went for our belated birthday celebration. They open the doors at 6p. The dubbing room had an elegant and cozy atmosphere. The servers were friendly and energetic. Every course of the meal was delicious. We got the veggie lasagna and prime rib. Portions were generous with plenty for leftovers. The wine bottle prices are reasonable. The magician was entertaining. I would definitely go again.

I'm big on reading reviews before I go somewhere and I definitely was not disappointed. We learned there are different themes depending on the season (Jan-Aug is normal decor, Sept and Oct is Halloween and Nov and Dec is Christmas). I recommend the Mac and cheese. It's truly so delicious and did not disappoint. My husband and I got prime rib but will be getting the Mac and cheese next time. You get to enjoy all the food first and then get to participate in a show after.

From the food to the incredible magician Jade, our family had the best time celebrating my husband's birthday. This wasn't our first visit, but it was definitely our best. Jade was personable and truly talented, such a highlight of the night. She even kept our teens engaged the whole time--that says a lot! We'll absolutely be back.

We had a group of 6 grab tickets for the Manifestations show at Mystique Dining that celebrates the works of Edgar Allen Poe. It was a very intimate setting for about 20 people total and included a 5 course meal as well as a magic show. Expect the experience to last about 2.5 hours. The dinner was excellent and included a bacon-wrapped fig app, a salad, a sorbet palate cleanser, main course, and a dessert. I was impressed with the food and the generous portion of the main dish. I had the prime rib which was enormous and had a flavorful crust. Dave Cox was the magician for the night and there was lots of audience participation. He was fantastic! In terms of value the whole experience was around $125-150 per person which I felt was fair for dinner and a show.

Ask the Community - Mystique Dining

Is it family friendly? Is there an age limit?

Honestly it's for older children age 10+. It's fine dining and there's a lot going on with courses and the magic show. The whole venue lasts about three hours. Even though my 9yr old granddaughter could handle it; I would be hesitant to take her…

What time do doors open for 9:00 show?

I think their website stated that guests should be there 15 minutes before the show. The one I attended was the 8 pm one and the people started gathering in the hallway around 15 minutes before but they waited until all the guests checked in before…

Is food paid fort separately or is it included in the ticket price?

Yes food is included and delicious and plenty. There are add-on food items like shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms and lobster tail. Alcohol drinks are extra too.

If reservations are at 6, what time do you go ahead of time to hang out in the bar? Or is there a bar area?

No there is not a bar. They will not let you in until 5-10 mins before.

    How long is the experience?

    2.5 to 3 hours

What are the seating arrangements ? From the photos it looks like guests sit with strangers at one big table.

Correct. There are also 2 separate pub tables that seat 2 ppl each located in the back of the room.

My Husband doesn't eat veggies, can he get potatoes instead?

Absolutely! Just make a note under special occasion when you place your order.

This place looks great! Are there any vegan options?

Yes - according to their website, they now offer a vegan "surf and turf" option - Gourmet Mushroom Medley, Fire Roasted Haricot Verts, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes and House Chimichurri.

Are you open and what show is playing currently if so?

We are accepting reservations now for performances beginning Nov. 4th

    How is the vegetarian options?

4 cheese Mac and cheese!!! And veggies on side (asparagus, potato...) It was delicious!

After walking in and being greeted by the front desk, we had mentioned that this is our first time here and that we had already purchased tickets. The guy at the front counter scanned my QR Code and then printed tickets for us. Being that this was our first time here, he then proceeded to tell us that we could either order food at the bar or from the QR Code at our seats and then the food would be delivered. We got to our seat after walking a little bit and then when we walked into the Theater let me tell you that the place is VERY Clean and that as we sat down I realized that the seat was comortable and it reclined. We then ordered Popcorn and a Medium Sized Drink and after about 5 or 6 minutes the Popcorn came in with the Medium sized drink and let me tell you that the Popcorn was very salty and there wasnt alot of butter. The Mr Pibb on the other hand was great but the price of $28 for the Popcorn and the Drink was WAY too much. I normally dont spend that when I get a Popcorn and a Drink but I guess, it is, what it is. The thing I can say is that while the seats were comfortable, the movie was wonderful but the prices here are a BIT much. It's not like I wont return to watch another movie, Its just that I wont order Food, besides a Popcorn and maybe just bring my own drink. As I looked over the QR code at the food I also noticed that there was a lot of different pricing for food that I also think was a bit high. Great experience over all.

Because the whole experience depends on hearing what others are saying, that made participating in the mystery frustrating. It felt like it could have been a really fun event, but the noise and acoustics made it hard to follow what was happening. There was also one issue with the food service.
