I didn't know such a nice breakfast place was here in Jacksonville! The ambiance reminds me of back home. This establishment is on the pricier side, but that is due to their fresh and organic food options. I tried their salted caramel coffee (5.99) which is VERY sweet and very affordable considering how loaded they make it. It reminds me of those fancy coffees from erehwon or whole foods. The breakfast is delicious and not overly salty! The sausages are generous side, nothing scrawny like ihop. Big fan of them keeping a jug of water at the table and complimentary hot coffee. Our total for 2 was around $60. Waitress was nice and made sure to check up on us often. This place is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. A fabulous first experience!

My fiancé and I have attended the first watch in Jacksonville the last 3 years when we don't feel like cooking breakfast at home. At least once every other month. The service is always the best! Food always comes out quick and always fresh. The only thing I can say I've never liked about 'first watch' throughout the country are the grits (very plain and never consistent) and the potatoes.

I am a big fan of First Watch, so this was a clear breakfast choice for us while visiting. We came around 8:30am on a Sunday and it was not yet packed. We were seated quickly and our food came out fast as well. I ordered the egg white breakfast wrap. It was scalding hot! So be warned. I also ordered their caramel crunch cold-brew but it was way too sweet for my liking. I would not get that again. The food was great.

Never a bad time. This seasons French toast was amazing please make it permanent omg I could eat it daily lol!!! Service as always 10/10 Jacksonville got all the best servers and said you all have to work at first watch!!! I've been sitting on the patio the last few times and it's been pleasant temperature wise as long as you're in the shade! Add a side of million dollar potatoes!

The customer service was the best thing about this place. Our waitress was delightful, wonderful and friendly. The food was okay. The potatoes taste like they were cooked in an over at 500 degrees. one side of the potato is BURNT (like charcoal) and the other sides are gooey. The eggs are light and fluffy. The "MILLION DOLLAR BACON" should be called the $1 bacon. It was gooey and flavorful, but the bacon tasted old, hard and cold. Oh and stay far away from the grits

    2 for 2!

You can never go wrong with getting some breakfast or brunch here at first watch. The flavors never miss and their specials are something you should always give a try! Come here for delicious eats with a cozy vibe.

FW is a causal chain that serves breakfast & lunch. This one is conveniently located on a main street Ruth plenty opf parking. Expect waits on weekends that aren't too bad. Staff here is very friendly & professional. First thing you notice is the menu. Everything sounds amazing and they do offer alcoholic beverages and a juice bar. Wraps, sandwich, omelettes, etc etc However most of the items we had were good to very good, but nothing amazing, which is OK. Expect the pricing to be much more than your local IHOP or Cracker Barrel. But again, there are many great choices here and I found it hard to pick. Good thing there were 8 of us so we ordered items for the table to share as well. DRINKS..... Let's start off with an AMAZING breakfast cocktail called Cinnamon Toast Cereal Milk with RumHaven Coconut Rum, cold brew coffee, oat milk and agave nectar. OMG! Sooooo good I had two. From the juice bar came another excellent beverage called Purple Haze, made with Lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and a hint of lavender. THE FOOD.... --Floridian French Toast with thick-cut brioche covered with fresh banana, kiwi and seasonal berries then lightly dusted with powered cinnamon sugar sounded & looked amazing but was just a good average French Toast --Million Dollar Potatoes ( side dish) had a lot going on; cheesy potatoes, bacon, etc. I found it a little too much and salty. --Cheese grits ( side dish) was average. --Regular bacon ( side dish) 4 pieces for $5 seemed a bit steep. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It is a good option. I'd go back mainly for the beverages and a bite. You should definitely try it out at least once.

The service here is so delightful and friendly, portions are a good size, and the inside decor is casual and cute. Came with a big party for breakfast, and they seated us quick, we all really enjoyed our different dishes.

MELISSA had excellent service. She's frequently ensured that we had everything that we needed. She even recommended the delicious Blueberry Lemon Cornbread

    French toast was tasty.

I have been to First watch here in Arizona and was completely underwhelmed. However, my family and I were in North Carolina and they wanted to go for breakfast. I ordered eggs benedict and unfortunately I am an egg Benedict snob. Let's say I've had better eggs, Benedict. The eggs were slightly overcooked. I like a runny yolk so that when you cut into it, the yolk runs down the side and mixes in with the hollandaise sauce. Speaking of hollandaise sauce the hollandaise sauce was a little too lemony. The potatoes were pretty good but again I've had better. The French toast was quite tasty though. To me first watches nothing to write home about.

Southern Harvest Soul Food - 3 out of 5 stars…read more I hate to be the guy who leaves bad reviews, especially after giving a place multiple chances, but this was unfortunately the last straw for me. I drove nearly an hour to get to this restaurant, excited to try the oxtails. Upon arrival, I was told they were no longer being served because they were out. This marks the third time I've driven there specifically for oxtails and was unable to get them due to being out of stock. This wasn't late in the afternoon either--I arrived right at lunch opening. I know what some of you are thinking: why not call ahead? You're absolutely right. That mistake is on me, and I've definitely learned that lesson. On a previous visit, I tried the shrimp and grits, and I'll give credit where it's due--they were actually phenomenal and easily the best thing I've had there. Unfortunately, my other experiences haven't matched that quality. The last time I visited, I settled for the brisket burrito. While sweet and savory can work together, this one was overwhelmingly sweet and just didn't hit the mark. I also asked for a Diet Coke and was told they only had Sprite, regular Coke, and water, which was surprising. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy, which had almost no flavor. For a southern soul food restaurant, that was pretty disappointing. I don't plan on coming back. I'm not mad--just disappointed. I hope this review helps others avoid making a long drive expecting a specific dish only to find out it's unavailable.

Love to have more local spots versus the franchise trends in the area. Service 5/5 Really attentive service even with Saturday morning crowds weekend before Christmas. Booked reservations via Open Table because this place gets really busy. Food 5/5 We got classics fried chicken with waffles and French toast. Fried chicken was flavorful batter and they do provide sides of ranch and hot sauce by request. But pretty pricey for the amount of food considering the Onslow County area. Inflation is real. Also have a seasonal cocktail menu, we got the caramel mimosas which were pretty small again considering price. Definitely nice brunch spot in Jacksonville coming up considering growing up here and this use to be a Scholtsky's Deli. I forgot I was in Jacksonville. Hope to try more items on future when I'm back in town.

Located in a relatively convenient spot from anywhere in the Jacksonville area, the restaurant has lots of room for customers, and so I've often found a table even in some of the traditionally busier times of day. The food and the service are always reliably great. Omelets, pancakes, French toast, and even hash browns (which, in most other diners, along with their fellow traveler in undesirability, grits, are best avoided), are far better than most other diners. A lot of thought, care, and, presumably, serious on-the-job training must go into the food. The efficiency and dependably rigorous quality are not surprising in a military town. If you're visiting from elsewhere, you will be humbled by the atmosphere, at certain times, when the young service members are having meaningful, hushed meals with their beloveds. Thinking of the hard work, brutal training, and potential life-threatening danger that such absurdly young looking people are enduring will make your worries about mice in the garage, smudged eyeglasses, and forgetting your travel pillow feel awfully insignificant and trivial. Unless you're a fleshly flaneur like me, in which case, a travel pillow and a heating blanket, are still pretty nice. Service is fast and just the right amount of attentive and friendly. On my most recent visit, Elaina was particular kind and efficient.

I asked our very helpful and sweet server Jersey if she had only 2 choices with one being chicken fried chicken or the daily special Taco Salad, which would she go with and she said the taco salad. So, that's what I ordered. It was very tasty, loaded with 2 types of cheese a side of Jalapeño (which I gave to hubby) alot of fresh tomatoes and lettuce, a side of salsa and sour cream served in a somewhat crispy tortilla shell. And the shell is the only reason for a 4 star vs 5, the shell wasn't as light and crispy as I like it. It tasted as if they fried it several hours ago and honestly, I get why they did it that way as it saves time but the shell just left me disappointed. Hubby ordered a patty melt with fries. We came into town to scope out the Jacksonville Landing for future bass fishing mornings and when I told him we were stopping in here for lunch he already knew he was having the melt. I mean, he thought about it for 90 minutes lol. I've had their melts before and it is yummy. I think though the fries were the star on his plate. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside and topped with something akin to Old Bay Seasoning. And they were HOT! Y'all, i mean, they're only fries but rhey were PERFECT! I am seriously alreasy looking forward to our 1st fishing adventure just so we can have lunch at the Kettle once we've caught all the bass. Jersey was quite attentive, but not hovering and warm friendly like only you'll find in the south. Oh, bestie told me to get the chocolate torte because she said, literally, "it's life altering." However, I forgot to so, just another thing for me to enjoy after our initial fishing trip. In some ways, you can go home again.
