Relaxing atmosphere with some retro diner decor. Menu with lots of choices from biscuits to sandwiches that is sure to satisfy the pickiest diner. Staff service rapid and very friendly. Highly recommend it!

We stopped in for dinner before a concert nearby. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was so pleasant and chatty. Really enjoyed her! My husband ordered breakfast which is why we stopped in. I got the loaded burger bowl and it was amazing! I love the option for a bowl. It was different and tasty!

It's not bad it's not great. It's just another chain breakfast place that doesn't season anything. The biscuits are hard which happens to be one of my fav things. :(. The service was good. Friendly. The restaurant itself is smaller and very close together!

Out with my friend having lunch today. Really cute diner and great staff. The young lady that sat us was so sweet and she had us sitting in Lindsey's area.. Lindsey was our waitress and she kept good eye on us, filled our drinks and gave us time to chat before we ordered. You can not ask for better waitress!! You can order breakfast all day or chose something else from the vast menu. It was hard to chose but I wanted breakfast my friend wanted fish and chips! She substitute Cole slaw for decent sized side salad which only cost $1 extra.. it was quiet today but we came late morning. We were not rushed by any means and Lindsey brought us Togo boxes when we finally decided we were done. Really cute place with good food and pretty big portions. I saw the order of chicken and waffles go to table behind us and it was huge! I highly recommend giving it a try there's something for everyone.. next time I go I wanna do the mimosa flight!! lol

I've had my eye on this place for a little bit now. The decision to finally go was well worth it. We were greeted right away and sat. The waiter was quickly to our table and had our orders to us. The food was cooked well and tasted great. The prices are not bad for what you get. The inside is open and appealing to the eye. The noise isn't bad inside and it seemed to be very clean. Their sanitation score is pretty good also. The only bad thing I can say, they need to be easy on the grease. The bacon and hash browns were soaked with it. The food still tasted great.

My Brunch experience today was not like the experiences others have had here. Our server was not very friendly at all. The place wasn't as clean as I would have wanted and the food was subpar. The biggest reason I was upset was because my friend called ahead of time and asked if they Bloody Mary's and they said yes. They even have them listed on the menu. So when ordered one, the server tells me that their bloody Mary's are made with sake. What the heck? That's not a Bloody Mary and I don't even know how they can claim that to be. It was awful! I ordered a cup of the chicken noodle soup and ate about half and didn't take it to go That says a lot right there. I also ordered the eggs beside g with broccoli instead of hash browns. It was so average and so meh. My friend has the mimosa flight and one of her glasses had stiff floating around in it so she had to send it back. Her chicken and French toast was so huge it was ridiculous. Was not my place for sure

Busy! But we got seated within three minutes. Waitress was nice and once I told her that it was our first time then she gave us additional information. So I would suggest that you let her know if it is your first time, otherwise not sure that she would have said anything about the menu. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu but we had to wave her down to take our order. Don't get me wrong, she was friendly and sweet but not attentive. Maybe she just had too many tables. I had the Philly sandwich ($12.99) and it was VERY Good. The cheese melted in your mouth and the meat was tender and flavorful. I asked if the coleslaw was made there and she said yes, so I got it. It was good but could have been colder. Maybe it sat under the lights to long, or they leave some out for serving. My daughter had the chicken salad sandwich with fries, which she liked. Not over the moon but good. I took a bite and had to add salt. Daughter had half and half tea but we had to flag her down our girl to get a refill and she had no idea what she had. We told her half and half but she ended up bringing back raspberry tea and unsweetened. We then could not find our waitress to correct it and had to ask another one if she could help us. The second waitress was a little rude but brought back the perfect tea. We were done and sat for awhile until we finally were able to flag down our waitress. So, bottom line, busy, be patient, food good, and atmosphere similar to a Denny's. There is a sign by the front that says that Guy from DDD came in to the store in Florida.

Southern Harvest Soul Food - 3 out of 5 stars…read more I hate to be the guy who leaves bad reviews, especially after giving a place multiple chances, but this was unfortunately the last straw for me. I drove nearly an hour to get to this restaurant, excited to try the oxtails. Upon arrival, I was told they were no longer being served because they were out. This marks the third time I've driven there specifically for oxtails and was unable to get them due to being out of stock. This wasn't late in the afternoon either--I arrived right at lunch opening. I know what some of you are thinking: why not call ahead? You're absolutely right. That mistake is on me, and I've definitely learned that lesson. On a previous visit, I tried the shrimp and grits, and I'll give credit where it's due--they were actually phenomenal and easily the best thing I've had there. Unfortunately, my other experiences haven't matched that quality. The last time I visited, I settled for the brisket burrito. While sweet and savory can work together, this one was overwhelmingly sweet and just didn't hit the mark. I also asked for a Diet Coke and was told they only had Sprite, regular Coke, and water, which was surprising. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy, which had almost no flavor. For a southern soul food restaurant, that was pretty disappointing. I don't plan on coming back. I'm not mad--just disappointed. I hope this review helps others avoid making a long drive expecting a specific dish only to find out it's unavailable.

Fried chicken was flavorful batter and they do provide sides of ranch and hot sauce by request. But pretty pricey for the amount of food considering the Onslow County area. Inflation is real. Also have a seasonal cocktail menu, we got the caramel mimosas which were pretty small again considering price. Definitely nice brunch spot in Jacksonville coming up considering growing up here and this use to be a Scholtsky's Deli. I forgot I was in Jacksonville. Located in a relatively convenient spot from anywhere in the Jacksonville area, the restaurant has lots of room for customers, and so I've often found a table even in some of the traditionally busier times of day. The food and the service are always reliably great. Omelets, pancakes, French toast, and even hash browns (which, in most other diners, along with their fellow traveler in undesirability, grits, are best avoided), are far better than most other diners. A lot of thought, care, and, presumably, serious on-the-job training must go into the food. The efficiency and dependably rigorous quality are not surprising in a military town. If you're visiting from elsewhere, you will be humbled by the atmosphere, at certain times, when the young service members are having meaningful, hushed meals with their beloveds. Thinking of the hard work, brutal training, and potential life-threatening danger that such absurdly young looking people are enduring will make your worries about mice in the garage, smudged eyeglasses, and forgetting your travel pillow feel awfully insignificant and trivial. Unless you're a fleshly flaneur like me, in which case, a travel pillow and a heating blanket, are still pretty nice. Service is fast and just the right amount of attentive and friendly. On my most recent visit, Elaina was particular kind and efficient.

I asked our very helpful and sweet server Jersey if she had only 2 choices with one being chicken fried chicken or the daily special Taco Salad, which would she go with and she said the taco salad. So, that's what I ordered. It was very tasty, loaded with 2 types of cheese a side of Jalapeño (which I gave to hubby) alot of fresh tomatoes and lettuce, a side of salsa and sour cream served in a somewhat crispy tortilla shell. And the shell is the only reason for a 4 star vs 5, the shell wasn't as light and crispy as I like it. It tasted as if they fried it several hours ago and honestly, I get why they did it that way as it saves time but the shell just left me disappointed. Hubby ordered a patty melt with fries. We came into town to scope out the Jacksonville Landing for future bass fishing mornings and when I told him we were stopping in here for lunch he already knew he was having the melt. I mean, he thought about it for 90 minutes lol. I've had their melts before and it is yummy. I think though the fries were the star on his plate. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside and topped with something akin to Old Bay Seasoning. And they were HOT! Y'all, i mean, they're only fries but rhey were PERFECT! I am seriously alreasy looking forward to our 1st fishing adventure just so we can have lunch at the Kettle once we've caught all the bass. Jersey was quite attentive, but not hovering and warm friendly like only you'll find in the south. Oh, bestie told me to get the chocolate torte because she said, literally, "it's life altering." However, I forgot to so, just another thing for me to enjoy after our initial fishing trip. In some ways, you can go home again.
