    Italian sub

Sad excuse for a sub. Italian had just meat. No lettuce. No onions. No tomatoes. No dressing. And $12? DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!

    Blueberry pancakes!!!

This is the only convenience store around that has a diner and gas station (24 hours with credit cards) for miles around. We've got a place up Rt 145, maybe 15 or 20 minutes and this place is a necessity. We had breakfast here and it was reasonable and good. The home fries, more done than we usually are accustomed to, were great, as were the blueberry pancakes. The convenience store has all of your necessities, some groceries, beverages, dairy, etc. When the nearest grocery store is more than a half hour drive each way, The Milk Run is a much needed, much used gold-mine.

Big, friendly fake cow out front.

Milk run is a country-style breakfast joint nestled in an obscure little area of Greene County. Their clientele is mostly comprised of regulars, mainly truck drivers and the like, but the food is pretty good. Although they offer a few basic "dinner specials" on their well-worn, plastic menu-cards, the real draw here is their breakfast: Omelets made just right, using local country sausage, bacon, and eggs. And the bread is delivered fresh daily from a bakery downstate...served soft and warm. Yes, it's a little out of the way for some, but if you're traveling through the area to attend one of the many local festivals, you might want to give this place a shot.

Turkey and cheese sandwich, excellent customer service! Fast serving! Solid 9/10

Well, that's exactly how it felt when we walked in for a quick bite at Angel's in rural East Durham, NY. With a name like Angel's Café and the owner being a Spanish language speaker, the customer base leans in a totally different direction: more rural Americana than anything else. Stares aside, we were sent this way after wrapping up some errands in town. Clean and spacious with a menu full of variety, this café-restaurant has something for every taste. My Muenster and sliced tomato grilled cheese had just the right amount of gooeyness, pressed between buttery slices of rye (not my go-to, but it was either that or wheat). It hit the spot so well, I almost ordered another. Hubs, being the meat-eater he is, went for the burger patty club sandwich and had no complaints. While the space itself is spotless and inviting, the ventilation system could use some attention because I left smelling more like the kitchen than a customer. Still, the wide selection and comfortable setting make it a nice visit. Service was easygoing and for two solid sandwiches, a pink lemonade and an iced tea, our total was just $24. No fuss, no frills- just a satisfying small-town lunch.

They have a wide variety menu and the food was great and at a very affordable price. The servers were extremely nice and kind. The full service dining area has seating for up to approximately 48 people including hard booths, table seating and seats up at the counter. The walls are decorated with various old framed photos, wooden signs, pennant, and posters. They also offer takeout, sell newspapers, and cooler items. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast sides. The lunch menu includes burgers (with hand cut fries), hot & cold sandwiches (with chips & pickle), salads, soup, seafood baskets (fried shrimp-fried clams), and fried foods (hand cut fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms), and desserts (pies & cakes). The prices here seem reasonable, most items under $10. Pizzas, calzones, and wings are also offered on Thursday-Sunday nights. Specials are posted on the board and dinner offerings on their Facebook page. I stopped in at Pop's Place for lunch while driving through the Hill Towns of Albany County. I sat myself at a booth upon entering. I was greeted by the owner Heath and given a menu to look over and offered a drink. I quickly decided to order the special, which was Pastrami on Marble Rye ($8 plus tax) served with chips and dill pickle. I was offered to upgrade to hand cut fries for $1.50 more, but I was all set with the standard potato chips. The food was made to order by Amy (owner) in the open kitchen area and served nice and hot. The grilled pastrami sandwich had tender slices (not greasy) of lean pastrami, layered with melted Swiss cheese, and spicy mustard dressing between soft grilled marble rye bread. The ruffled potato chips (salted) were standard. After I finished my lunch, I was asked if I wanted anything else, but I was all set and needed to be back on the road. The grilled pastrami sandwich was very good, just what I needed for good lunch. The service was prompt and friendly. NOTE: Cell reception is nonexistent here.
