    Italian sub

Sad excuse for a sub. Italian had just meat. No lettuce. No onions. No tomatoes. No dressing. And $12? DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!

    Blueberry pancakes!!!

This is the only convenience store around that has a diner and gas station (24 hours with credit cards) for miles around. We've got a place up Rt 145, maybe 15 or 20 minutes and this place is a necessity. We had breakfast here and it was reasonable and good. The home fries, more done than we usually are accustomed to, were great, as were the blueberry pancakes. The convenience store has all of your necessities, some groceries, beverages, dairy, etc. When the nearest grocery store is more than a half hour drive each way, The Milk Run is a much needed, much used gold-mine.

Big, friendly fake cow out front.

Milk run is a country-style breakfast joint nestled in an obscure little area of Greene County. Their clientele is mostly comprised of regulars, mainly truck drivers and the like, but the food is pretty good. Although they offer a few basic "dinner specials" on their well-worn, plastic menu-cards, the real draw here is their breakfast: Omelets made just right, using local country sausage, bacon, and eggs. And the bread is delivered fresh daily from a bakery downstate...served soft and warm. Yes, it's a little out of the way for some, but if you're traveling through the area to attend one of the many local festivals, you might want to give this place a shot.

Turkey and cheese sandwich, excellent customer service! Fast serving! Solid 9/10

The ice cream tends to taste a bit watered down. Otherwise a nice little stop for things

This place has become a once a year pilgrimage with my visit to the Grey Fox music festival. Others…read morehere have described the vibe here as earthy and unique and I would agree. The food is simple but good. I ordered the not quite "grilled" (but rather melted) cheese and the half chef salad. Love the warm rolls that come with all of the meals too. Salad had a tangy vinaigrette freshly made dressing. I've not had their sandwich which is a big part of their menu but my friend had the classic Bristol fish and enjoyed it. I remember my previous visit here and the food being surprisingly good then too. I would also recommend the smoothie and chili. Service was good (food came quickly) and pricing made sense.

This Yellow Deli had a similar vibe, with the same earthy and "Middle Earth" feel, but I wasn't a big fan of the "Long Islander" sandwich I ordered. The creamy cauliflower soup, however, was good, and the strawberry banana smoothie was delicious. Unfortunately, our waitress wasn't very friendly, which was disappointing. That said, I still love Yellow Deli and picked up a bunch of items from the shop inside, like their homemade teas and soaps. I'm always fascinated by the intricate detail and decor of Yellow Delis--it's truly unlike any other deli. I still don't fully understand their religious aspect or what they represent, but I'm just here for the food! Can't wait to explore more locations!

Formerly West Winds, Pop's Place is a casual local family owned roadside restaurant serving…read morebreakfast (all day), lunch and dinner, which is located in Preston Hollow (Southwest Albany County) along NY Route 145 between Catskill and Cobleskill. The full service dining area has seating for up to approximately 48 people including hard booths, table seating and seats up at the counter. The walls are decorated with various old framed photos, wooden signs, pennant, and posters. They also offer takeout, sell newspapers, and cooler items. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast sides. The lunch menu includes burgers (with hand cut fries), hot & cold sandwiches (with chips & pickle), salads, soup, seafood baskets (fried shrimp-fried clams), and fried foods (hand cut fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms), and desserts (pies & cakes). The prices here seem reasonable, most items under $10. Pizzas, calzones, and wings are also offered on Thursday-Sunday nights. Specials are posted on the board and dinner offerings on their Facebook page. I stopped in at Pop's Place for lunch while driving through the Hill Towns of Albany County. I sat myself at a booth upon entering. I was greeted by the owner Heath and given a menu to look over and offered a drink. I quickly decided to order the special, which was Pastrami on Marble Rye ($8 plus tax) served with chips and dill pickle. I was offered to upgrade to hand cut fries for $1.50 more, but I was all set with the standard potato chips. The food was made to order by Amy (owner) in the open kitchen area and served nice and hot. The grilled pastrami sandwich had tender slices (not greasy) of lean pastrami, layered with melted Swiss cheese, and spicy mustard dressing between soft grilled marble rye bread. The ruffled potato chips (salted) were standard. After I finished my lunch, I was asked if I wanted anything else, but I was all set and needed to be back on the road. The grilled pastrami sandwich was very good, just what I needed for good lunch. The service was prompt and friendly. NOTE: Cell reception is nonexistent here.
