A quick snapshot of the interior of the restaurant
    Doug O.

My grandchildren have been eating there and have rave reviews. For teenagers, it is usually fast food that satisfies their taste palate. We took them up on their offer to have lunch there. Our visit there was definitely not disappointing. The interior decor is warm and charming. All the furniture, including the table were made of natural wood in the natural state. The staff are warm and very friendly and genuinely making you feel you are welcome. We al ordered sandwiches and soda. I can't possibly recommend any particular sandwich because we all tasted each other's and one was better than the other. Their soups are homemade and delicious. The special for this day was tomato basil. Delicious! For dessert try the yogurt parfait - it's a god size and definitely delicious Highly recommend this restaurant. It's a food lover delight. They apparently have several locations: Coxsackie NY and Oneonta NY and other places.

Love the decor inside and the food is pretty good. I would definitely eat there more if they offered wine .

Nice staff and good food. I bring my friends and family from out of town here. The building is an entire conversation of its own.

Formerly West Winds, Pop's Place is a casual local family owned roadside restaurant serving…read morebreakfast (all day), lunch and dinner, which is located in Preston Hollow (Southwest Albany County) along NY Route 145 between Catskill and Cobleskill. The full service dining area has seating for up to approximately 48 people including hard booths, table seating and seats up at the counter. The walls are decorated with various old framed photos, wooden signs, pennant, and posters. They also offer takeout, sell newspapers, and cooler items. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast sides. The lunch menu includes burgers (with hand cut fries), hot & cold sandwiches (with chips & pickle), salads, soup, seafood baskets (fried shrimp-fried clams), and fried foods (hand cut fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms), and desserts (pies & cakes). The prices here seem reasonable, most items under $10. Pizzas, calzones, and wings are also offered on Thursday-Sunday nights. Specials are posted on the board and dinner offerings on their Facebook page. I stopped in at Pop's Place for lunch while driving through the Hill Towns of Albany County. I sat myself at a booth upon entering. I was greeted by the owner Heath and given a menu to look over and offered a drink. I quickly decided to order the special, which was Pastrami on Marble Rye ($8 plus tax) served with chips and dill pickle. I was offered to upgrade to hand cut fries for $1.50 more, but I was all set with the standard potato chips. The food was made to order by Amy (owner) in the open kitchen area and served nice and hot. The grilled pastrami sandwich had tender slices (not greasy) of lean pastrami, layered with melted Swiss cheese, and spicy mustard dressing between soft grilled marble rye bread. The ruffled potato chips (salted) were standard. After I finished my lunch, I was asked if I wanted anything else, but I was all set and needed to be back on the road. The grilled pastrami sandwich was very good, just what I needed for good lunch. The service was prompt and friendly. NOTE: Cell reception is nonexistent here.

It's attached to the golf course, sort of. I am not sure it's ADA approved as you need to climb steep steps to get in. Portions were generous and the young server was trying really hard to please. She was super friendly, knew the menu really well, offered us tons of options for our selections and was very attentive the entire time. There was live music, a one man keyboardist who played easy listening tunes. We really enjoyed it :) this is a "don't judge a book by its cover" kind of place- the food was absolutely fantastic. We had 3, $25 strip steak special dinners and all were tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked. A Reuben sandwich had real homemade corned beef on it, kids meals were tasty and exactly as described. Vegetable cookery was fantastic, homemade dressings and plentiful portions. We will definitely be back, and we hope the chef and Tina will still be there! Glad to have found this diamond in the rough- go try it, good food for a great price! -The Belden Family
