Food is good, the waitresses are nice, the younger girl that goes around refilling drinks is the head of the "I hate my job" club. The interior is a bit out dated with it's decor, with a strange mixture of paintings that are hung super high on the walls, and don't match anything else in the diner. The restaurant is well lit, and has plenty of room between tables. We ate lunch here one day, and my fried chicken, bacon and cheese sandwich was ok. Everyone else had no complaints with their food either. We went back the next day for breakfast, I had the French toast with a side order of link sausage. Everything was good. From the outside it doesn't look like anything fancy. Once inside, we were greeted with a friendly smile. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us without overdoing which I appreciate. The breakfast was very good. The overeat eggs were yolky without the white being runny. Really good. I asked for extra crispy corned beef and home fries and they delivered. It's very much a basic diner place with good food. I took a star off because there was no non-dairy creamer for coffee. I am really disappointed about that. They serve breakfast all day and coffee would've been nice. It always upsets me that businesses can't keep a small non-dairy creamer for customers at a cost of a few bucks. Tried to bring my mother to breakfast here this morning as this is where she comes at least three mornings a week for breakfast. I was accompanied by my service dog. I was immediately approached by the owner with the balls to ask me what my disability was. I was mortified! For one it's morally wrong to ask somebody what their disability is, but more important than that it's against the law to ask me or turn me away because I have a service dog. I offered to show him the dogs ID and he said I can't ask for the ID. But he could ask what my disability was specifically? I told him he's wrong and he can't ask that and he asked me to leave. I know I did not have to leave, but I chose you because I'm not gonna spend money in his establishment and I will never come back again, nor will my mother. read more

There's not a lot to say about Bob's. It's exactly what it sets out to be, a cheap, old-fashioned classic hometown diner serving up the basics. And it does it exceptionally well. The prices are very reasonable. The food good old fashion American diner fare. What really made this place shine to a five star review was the service. I wish I could remember our server's name. Young woman; unusual name. But she was quick and attentive and did the one thing that even servers in 4 dollar sigh NYC restaurants never do; she asked my husband if his bacon was cooked soft enough. It was. And he almost never gets it right, and never has a server until now asked if it was cooked right. That alone made the meal. I discovered this spot thanks to Yelp. I was doing research on eateries in Hudson before my day trip to this area. I realize Hudson draws big crowds from the NYC area these days, which may be the reason for expensive menus at other restaurants. If you go to Warren Street, the main drag, you will pay a premium at the restaurants. Coming to Bob's was great, the prices were fair! We stopped in here for breakfast on a weekday morning, it was quite busy. I can imagine this spot is packed on weekends. This place has a cute and old time feel. I love diners like this! They had a really nice size breakfast menu and their lunch selection looked great too. I noticed they had a breakfast special for $2, can't beat that! My blueberry pancakes came out quickly and were tasty. They forgot the spinach in my dining companions omelette unfortunately, but it still tasted good. This is a regular degular diner that was nearby our Air Bnb. We came here twice during our stay and the staff was attentive and friendly. My only complaint is that their coffee is light and not very strong. I prefer a dark roast that has a more robust strong flavor. We got the country breakfast which was biscuit and gravy with eggs (whichever style you prefer), they were good. They offer Tabasco or Frank's red hot for hot sauce choices. I got the Farmer omelette (I think the one with all veggies no meat) it was a decent size with home fries and toast very filling. We also got the apple pie pancakes they were good just could've did without the mountain of whipped cream lol. My wife was impressed by the pudding saying "it is my Mom's" Service was friendly and informal while not intrusive. We came less than an hour before closing time but felt no pressure to hurry our meals. (Though we did leave right at their closing time of 4:00 PM).
