I came here for the Holly Jolly Bar and there were some hits and misses. I'll start off by saying all of the staff were friendly. They went all out with the decorations so there were definitely a lot of cute picture moments. It got me more into the Christmas spirit. Now here is where improvements could have been made. When you purchase your ticket it is for a specific time slot of 1 1/2 hours. My party and I got there right on time and there were still people inside from the last time slot so all of the standing tables and seats were taken. I know this because each time slot had a different color wristband. We had to stand around for a while which normally I wouldn't mind but this place was a lot smaller than expected so there was not much space to move around. I felt like we were always in people's way. The ticket comes with one free "welcome drink" and any drinks after you had to pay for. They were super festive but I honestly did not enjoy any of the drinks. They were EXTREMELY sweet and mostly consisted of syrups and liqueurs. I couldn't even finish any of them. Overall, I made the best out of it. However, I don't think I would go again or recommend this specific location for the Holly Jolly Bar event.

I was very excited to check out the Holly Jolly Christmas bar after all the hype on social media, but unfortunately the experience was underwhelming and disappointing. You're required to book a time slot, yet there was still a line when we arrived. We got there early so it didn't impact us too much, but it immediately made the booking system feel pointless. Once inside, the space felt extremely cramped. Crowd control was poorly thought out, especially considering the timed entry. Many of us were just standing around, unintentionally crowding each other, with nowhere to go. We ordered the spiked hot chocolate and it wasn't that great. It tasted like it was made with water instead of milk, and the flavor was unpleasant. I only drank a few sips. There were absolutely no seats, so we ended up leaning against a pool table and placing our mugs on the edge of it just to manage. Because of the crowding, lack of seating, and poor drink quality, we didn't feel like we got any value for the entry fee. We were gone within about 30 minutes. The photo ops are cute, but that's really the only redeeming part of the experience. Overall, it felt very overhyped and rushed; like they were trying to push through as many people as possible without ensuring everyone could enjoy themselves. After leaving, we went to another holiday pop up bar. Several people there mentioned that they'd just come from Holly Jolly as well, which says a lot. The decor and concept are cute, but the execution could have been much better.

It's all about the Christmas Cocktails at the Holly Jolly Christmas pop up at The Mint. Service was okay, I mean let's face it they were very busy, the bar was cranking! And we were here for the drinks! They really "Decked the Halls" for Holiday Festivities! Super cur Christmas Theme and a fun date night!

I was excited to try out the Holly Jolly Bar here! When checking in we were able to get in right away. The hostess that greeted us outside in the front was nice! They had the place split up in two sections. One for the Holly Jolly Bar and the other half was the regular bar area. It was a lot smaller than I was expecting so there weren't too many seats available when we first got there. Inside was cute and I did like the Christmas decor. The ticket came with a drink so I chose the "Rockin' Around" as my first of the night. I did not enjoy it. I tried to drink about half and decided to try another one. I went with the Ginger Snap which came in a cute gingerbread cup but it was just not for me. Overall, the experience was okay. I probably would not go again.

Super nice bartender. We went Wednesday night just for a few drinks. Played pool and chatted it up. Place is dark inside. It wasn't crowded. Lots of ample parking. Felt safe.

A group of friend and myself gave The Mint a go. All were hyped to try it out. We had made resos for 7:45 and thy got us in right away. It was tiny in there and they had it all decked out with Xmas decorations. The entry ticket came with a drink ticket but not sure if the Bartender was new or just was having an off that night because the drinks were all super strong. We all thought maybe since it was the complimentary drink they were bad but even after ordering from their menu we had to send some back. Cool little spot to chill but they have to work on those drinks. I wouldn't recommend it to friends.

We came to the pop-up holiday bar, and were really impressed by the decor, the drink selection, and the friendly cocktail server. My only complaint is they have 1 bartender for dozens of customers who are ordering fancy cocktails, so it was a bit of a wait to get a drink. It's a very small venue, so seating was tight, but the live music, holiday decor, and the celebratory atmosphere made this a fantastic date night.

Decided to check out the Holly Jolly Christmas pop-up bar at the Mint Tavern and it did not disappoint. The bar was nice and cozy, complete with holiday decor, affordable drinks, and a local-bar vibe rather than Las Vegas-style glam. It nails the holiday spirit without going over the top, and it pairs nicely with the tavern's existing charm: good cocktails, easygoing atmosphere, games, and friendly bartenders.

Great spot! I came here before and they have always had a great vibe. I attended the holly jolly pop up and the drinks were amazing. The bartender looks like she was new because she had to keep looking at how to make the drinks, but she was such a vibe. Definitely recommend coming here.

Fun tavern on Sahara! Won $40 so that was good! Great service by the bartender, only had drinks so can't comment on the food but I'm sure it's good! Love all the activities you can do here outside of gambling! Pop in & see for yourself!

We have always wanted to check out this tavern and since it is a few doors down from the Golden Steer we checked it out after dinner. This is a very nice quaint tavern with friendly staff. Interesting thing is we made reservations on line, but it sounds like you really don't need then (the staff was also surprised that this option was available). They do have periodic events here such as swing dancing lessons on Friday nights at 730pm, The Fluff Follies coming up on 16 March 2024 at 830pm (door cover), etc. Interesting thing is that the bartenders have a selection of special solutions, that I call secret potions, like a 2% salt solution that they use for ingredients in special mixed drinks. Drink prices are reasonable, and staff is attentive and fun to talk with. We definitely will return to check out upcoming events and glad we stopped by.

This place is pretty chill. We have a reservation at golden steer but need to wait for the rest of our group members so we decided to go here. Drinks were very affordable and the server Curtis is very friend and provided awesome service. The drinks were great. I only took a picture of one of our drinks. Definitely will go back when we are in town.

At first we had a difficult time finding the place because we were expecting to see a big sign but there was none. Locate the Art's Square sign and walk toward the double doors straight ahead. The vibes are very intimate, emphasizes the arts, and every bartender and server is very friendly, even the hostess! First off, loved their menu booklet. I learned a lot about different drinks. I also loved that they had pictures that went with their drinks too. Seriously, lots of options! I also loved that they gave us a little card that had their most popular drinks based on taste. Our check came in a DVD plastic too, super nostalgic. I have not seen one of these in forever. Lol My friend and I ordered our first cocktail off this card and they were both incredible. I ordered the Crimes of Passion and she ordered the Dreamsicle. I like my cocktails sweet and these were both great. We ordered truffle fries off their small bites menu, which was enough to hold us over. For the second cocktail, my friend ordered the Nocturno Espresso. She liked it a lot, but it wasn't my preference since it was just a little bitter. I ordered what my bartender recommended me. I mentioned liking sweet drinks and he asked if I liked strawberries to which I replied "of course!" He made me a cocktail named the "Two Step" that I couldn't find on their menu but it was exactly the kind of drink I was looking for. We recommend making reservations. We tried to walk-in one night and they had a 30 minute wait, so we ended up booking a reservation on OpenTable for another day. They only take reservations for 6 people or less, this place is intimate after all. Looking forward to stopping in again!

They had completely changed the menu. The reason was because they have a new chef. The food was good, we had the spicy tuna, Caesar salad for starters and the Pan Fried Salmon and Hanger Steak for the main course. The Espresso Martini was fantastic! Only complaint is they haven't updated their menu. It would be helpful if their menu was current because this menu was very limited. They didn't have dessert. We were told no a lot on things we asked for. To me, that's bad. The staff was great and the service was good but I probably won't be back.

Our waitress was super friendly and really encouraged us to try some things because we really weren't sure about the menu. She was super attentive and we really appreciated that. The reason I'm giving this a three star review (and I feel bad doing so) is because I genuinely hated the drinks. Like viscerally hated. The menu really was a struggle as someone who's a gin drinker. There wasn't a lot on the menu which I'm often used to, but the drinks were either cloyingly sweet or incredibly tart and bitter. There seems to lack of balance and there were a lot of really weird flavors that really didn't seem to go together. Now I can't speak on every single drink on the menu, but I did try a couple that are either premixed or on tap and I really struggled with them. I was excited about the ginger drink, and I was given a taste of their homemade ginger beer, and it felt like it was going to burn a hole through my stomach. Which is typically not my reaction to anything gender flavored. I just think the balance of flavors are not quite right and so certain things overpowered other flavors. I ended up really not wanting anything on the menu because everything was so rum based and I really don't like rum, so they offered to make me a cocktail with some flavors that I liked. They told me they had passionfruit, which I was really excited about. It usually is a really nice combination of sweet but not too sweet and good fruity flavor. I had a passionfruit gin drink made, and it was absolutely gorgeous coming out. Unfortunately, what I didn't know was that the passionfruit that they have is on the very sour and tart side (contained by a staff member later), which has never been my experience with passionfruit in the past. One of the things that I told the waitress was that I really don't like sour. I like citrus but not something that is so overly sour that it tastes like I'm eating a warhead. And the drink that was made for me had both lemon and this really tart passionfruit to the point all I could taste was this awful sour flavor. I felt bad and drank it and was not about to ask it off the bill because they were so kind about everything. The drink ended up only being nine dollars and I genuinely wonder if they undercharged me, but I felt a lot better that that's all I paid for it. Aesthetically it was beautiful, but it tasted horrible. I tried my friends drink, which was a play on a margarita with Mezcal, and that was also incredibly bitter and sour. I'm not someone who needs disgustingly sweet drinks, hence me not liking rum, but I do need a balance of sweetness with the other flavors. My friend thought her drink was OK, but she said she wouldn't order it again. I would definitely give this location another shot if I could figure out a drink that would work, but it seems their drinks either are very sour or very sweet and I'm hoping that at some point they will be able to find a good balance between the two.

They have such a variety of seating, they have large loungey couches in the front, smaller couches with chairs and tables as you go inside, long and larger tables for larger groups in the back, a massive bar area with seating, as well as a gorgeous patio with bar seating as well as tables and loungey bench areas. The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.

I feel like this place can be easily missed since the building is all black, but definitely worth stopping in for. Vibes are very dark and intimate, yet lively. I am not sure how to explain it, but I liked it. Lol Somehow you can make a reservation, but I haven't looked into it. There were a bunch of seating against the wall on the couches but they were all reserved. My friend and I ended up at the bar in the "standing room" which was fine! Their seasonal menu is Conspiracy Theory based. I from that menu and my drink was called the Moon Landing Hoax, which was recommended to me but pretty strong in my opinion. I will say that the aesthetic of the drink was super cool with the astronaut. My friend ordered from their regular menu. She enjoyed her Repo Espresso Martini and she would order that again! All in all, I still like this bar a lot! I would come back again.

We were sat at a super cute table (there were 4 of us) and looked through the menu. The decor was super cute! Sort of old vintage looking couches around some tables, dim lighting, I loved the vibe. We each ordered something different from their cocktail menu from our very nice server. While waiting for those, our friend went to close out the tab and ordered shots, but asked for something that would be good. They proceeded to give us something with muddled strawberries, I was blown away at how good it was! Best shot I have ever had, so fresh. I love when you give bartenders freedom to play and create something so good! Our cocktails were so interesting and very tasty. I'd love to come back when we have some more time and try some of the other drinks. Everything about this place was amazing to me! Vibe, staff, the drinks, I had a great time!
