I came here for the Holly Jolly Bar and there were some hits and misses. I'll start off by saying all of the staff were friendly. They went all out with the decorations so there were definitely a lot of cute picture moments. It got me more into the Christmas spirit. Now here is where improvements could have been made. When you purchase your ticket it is for a specific time slot of 1 1/2 hours. My party and I got there right on time and there were still people inside from the last time slot so all of the standing tables and seats were taken. I know this because each time slot had a different color wristband. We had to stand around for a while which normally I wouldn't mind but this place was a lot smaller than expected so there was not much space to move around. I felt like we were always in people's way. The ticket comes with one free "welcome drink" and any drinks after you had to pay for. They were super festive but I honestly did not enjoy any of the drinks. They were EXTREMELY sweet and mostly consisted of syrups and liqueurs. I couldn't even finish any of them. Overall, I made the best out of it. However, I don't think I would go again or recommend this specific location for the Holly Jolly Bar event. read more

I was very excited to check out the Holly Jolly Christmas bar after all the hype on social media, but unfortunately the experience was underwhelming and disappointing. You're required to book a time slot, yet there was still a line when we arrived. We got there early so it didn't impact us too much, but it immediately made the booking system feel pointless. Once inside, the space felt extremely cramped. Crowd control was poorly thought out, especially considering the timed entry. Many of us were just standing around, unintentionally crowding each other, with nowhere to go. We ordered the spiked hot chocolate and it wasn't that great. It tasted like it was made with water instead of milk, and the flavor was unpleasant. I only drank a few sips. There were absolutely no seats, so we ended up leaning against a pool table and placing our mugs on the edge of it just to manage. Because of the crowding, lack of seating, and poor drink quality, we didn't feel like we got any value for the entry fee. We were gone within about 30 minutes. The photo ops are cute, but that's really the only redeeming part of the experience. Overall, it felt very overhyped and rushed; like they were trying to push through as many people as possible without ensuring everyone could enjoy themselves. After leaving, we went to another holiday pop up bar. Several people there mentioned that they'd just come from Holly Jolly as well, which says a lot. The decor and concept are cute, but the execution could have been much better. read more

I was excited to try out the Holly Jolly Bar here! When checking in we were able to get in right away. The hostess that greeted us outside in the front was nice! They had the place split up in two sections. One for the Holly Jolly Bar and the other half was the regular bar area. It was a lot smaller than I was expecting so there weren't too many seats available when we first got there. Inside was cute and I did like the Christmas decor. The ticket came with a drink so I chose the "Rockin' Around" as my first of the night. I did not enjoy it. I tried to drink about half and decided to try another one. Having to pay $20 for admission we had higher expectations of what to expect after seeing the bar featured on social media. Once we arrived, there was a long line waiting to enter and everyone had reservations. We received tickets once we checked in for the welcome drink and upon entering we noticed the space was a lot smaller than it seemed on social media. There was one tiny bar where you could grab your drinks. We opted for the spiked hot chocolate. Definitely wouldn't recommend. It tasted like a hot watered down tootsie roll. After we got our drinks there was nowhere to sit within the decorated area, yet they were still letting people in. The experience felt thrown together and unorganized. I wouldn't recommend or be back. We ended up leaving to another Christmas themed bar and ran into others who had also just left the Holly jolly bar. A group of friend and myself gave The Mint a go. All were hyped to try it out. We had made resos for 7:45 and thy got us in right away. It was tiny in there and they had it all decked out with Xmas decorations. The entry ticket came with a drink ticket but not sure if the Bartender was new or just was having an off that night because the drinks were all super strong. We all thought maybe since it was the complimentary drink they were bad but even after ordering from their menu we had to send some back. As a local, I was genuinely disappointed with my experience at The MINT Tavern. We attended specifically to enjoy their advertised holiday special and purchased tickets with the expectation of a festive and well-executed experience. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of what was promised. Upon entering, the bar had an unpleasant odor that immediately detracted from the atmosphere. The bartenders were disengaged and provided little to no customer service, which set a poor tone for the evening. The "complimentary" drink included with the ticket was, without exaggeration, the worst espresso-based drink I have ever had. It appeared to be watered down with club soda and made from powdered coffee, rendering it nearly undrinkable. The only redeeming aspect of the visit was our waitress, who was attentive, professional, and clearly doing her best despite the shortcomings of the establishment. Her effort did not go unnoticed and was the sole bright spot in an otherwise disappointing night. While I appreciate the nostalgic, vintage Vegas aesthetic the bar is attempting to capture, the execution simply missed the mark. Atmosphere alone cannot compensate for poor service and low-quality offerings. Holiday-themed experiences require extra care and attention to detail, and in this case, it would have been better not to offer one at all. I would not recommend spending your money on this experience or visiting this bar. There are far better options in Las Vegas that deliver both quality service and ambiance. Rating: 2/10 -- those two points are entirely due to the outstanding effort of our waitress. read more

I was fortunate enough that I was not a regular tourist last weekend. While visiting a special friend of mine, he took me to some of the local bars and this was one of them. I loved that you can watch or do karaoke whichever one you prefer. I am more of a watcher lol. The staff was absolutely amazing and wonderful to meet. We have always wanted to check out this tavern and since it is a few doors down from the Golden Steer we checked it out after dinner. This is a very nice quaint tavern with friendly staff. Interesting thing is we made reservations on line, but it sounds like you really don't need then (the staff was also surprised that this option was available). They do have periodic events here such as swing dancing lessons on Friday nights at 730pm, The Fluff Follies coming up on 16 March 2024 at 830pm (door cover), etc. Interesting thing is that the bartenders have a selection of special solutions, that I call secret potions, like a 2% salt solution that they use for ingredients in special mixed drinks. Drink prices are reasonable, and staff is attentive and fun to talk with. We definitely will return to check out upcoming events and glad we stopped by. read more

I really enjoy The Mint as a bar. It pleasantly surprised me with its extensive selection of liquors, including some rare finds like Negronis, which you don't often see in bars of its type. One pleasant surprise was the minimal cigarette smoke; I was expecting more, so that was definitely a nice plus. However, I have to deduct a star because they surprisingly don't have Bombay Sapphire Gin! It's such a classic, and I was a bit disappointed not to find it on their menu. Nevertheless, it's all good--they still offer a great selection overall. The Mint is a nice chill spot with friendly staff and a surprisingly good liquor selection. Pounders, with its unique charm, was a cut above. While it could have exuded more elegance, the experiences it offered were truly unforgettable. At The Mint Tavern LV, despite the substantial $5,000 in play over many months, the lack of equivalent alcohol comps and the underwhelming free play and specials have left much to be desired. The value proposition here needs to be more compelling to retain the interest of my social circle. You can save more money gambling at Ahern, a nearby casino, and stores for drinks. They have a more extensive selection at the casino and other neighboring bars. I don't mind paying for drinks, but the venue is just a waiting queue for the Steer nearby. It's a bummer because it could be fantastic. They offer swing lessons, a magic show, a Burlesque variety show, some open mics, and other events, but they're all just eh. Even if you come here as a repeat customer, you're not remembered even if you tip $20s or $ 100. After tipping, your treatment isn't improved, and you won't be thanked any different than if you stiffed. It says Karaoke is on Thursdays, but they last had that long ago. The Sunday and Monday karaoke was here, but the staff could have been more excited, and neither were the patrons. It only works if the staff could care less about the events they promote to encourage more drink sales. The ice machine and ice are so immaculate, which is a plus for me regarding cocktails and rock drinking. Many guests here are cheap and complain about the play-to-drink conversion, a policy where you earn points for every dollar you gamble, for points played, coins, and cash. They piss off the staff so often that the staff has an automatic response of being pissy with you whenever you do gamble plenty and ask for a drink. You could lose $500 in cash and rake in thousands of points. Try to get a second drink; they quickly remind you to play more. You have to make them pay attention. Again, after tipping before I even order or get a hello, they will still ignore you, flirt with pretty guests, and shmooze their friends. There's a clear need for improved service, regardless of the venue's busyness or the frequency of guest visits. Bartenders often seem preoccupied with their phones, even during peak hours. Their experiences from previous workplaces should translate into a more professional service here. The current service level often falls short of expectations. Blackjack and other games will have something different than what you expect as a veteran casino gamer and gambler. Let it ride; insurance, split, and double downs are altered to where you will be at an even more significant disadvantage. You can't get ahead like you would at preferred machines. Gaming here six days a week for many months has been a disappointment. If I had spent the same amount at a franchise, chain bar, casino, or my favorite spots, I would have easily gotten thrice the value and with less stress. The lights and sound here are better than most, but they must still be in the higher tier. You'll often hear buzzing from the equipment here. The folks operating will mistreat it, and the lighting must be dimmer for many events. The ventilation is inferior, and it gets SO HOT. It reeks of cigarette smoke, and you need a shower every time you visit. For quite some time, they'll be vagrants and down-on-their-luck vagabonds hovering around all night, every night. They cleaned it up more recently, but the clients at the dispensary will still be a pain late at night. Don't leave any valuables in your vehicle. Two of my pals' cars opened up and robbed of valuables in this plaza's parking lot. They last had food a long time ago, and even with the addition of Pizza, it still needs to be better and worth the purchase. Late nights, the bar, lounge, bathroom, windows, edges, ledges, and much more need cleaning. The building is so old that many parts are falling apart, and the doors are difficult to open and close. It's just a lame experience. Sadly, many of my favorite bars have closed, relocated, and gone downhill, and this location has followed suit. read more

I just want to start off by advising the decor is wonderful. They truly outdid themselves as far as making it festive and enjoyable. However...for about $30 a person it is NOT worth going. You are not guaranteed a table or seating. It is first come first serve regardless of your reservation. They provide you with one drink ticket with your reservation purchase. They have a whole holiday menu BUT only THREE out of maybe 9 or so drinks are available for your "free" drink ticket. And one of those drinks is a mocktail that you can PAY an additional $5 to add alcohol to. Not to mention one of the free drinks was absolutely awful. Even the staff agreed. I purchased the ginger snap drink and even that was bad. Entirely too sweet and syrupy. Then, right on the dot at 7:30 they kicked us out. AFTER making us stand in line. So your reservation may start at a certain time, but it could be 10-20 minutes after your reservation. And they kick you out regardless. Quite frankly, if you weren't forced to pay to enter we probably would have enjoyed it more. Or if they provided more options for your free drinks. Which wasn't actually free, really. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our server was great. The woman behind the mini bar was just overworked and the line was too long. I felt bad for her. Overall, I was highly disappointed in Holly Jolly and will not be recommending nor returning. I hope they do better next year. read more

Went there one day and got accused of bothering a guy there when he was clearly the one bothering me. I won't ever go back there because clearly they don't protect women or have their best interest. Another customer (female) had to save me from the situation I was in. Rob was the guy that didn't bother asking me if I was okay. He actually gave hostile energy towards me. Rude bartender. My fiancée and i came by this awesome place after having dinner and i am so glad we did. We went in and had a few drinks while listening to the swing music we love so much. The dance floor was pretty big and many people were dancing and just having a great old time. The bar is very old vegas classic which we really enjoy and have been looking for a place with this type of music. The decor is very vintage vegas, very random objects around which make it very unique. The drinks are very reasonable and bartenders are very friendly. A bar with a theme of a classic. If you like old Vegas history check this out. The Mint Tavern is themed after the old hotel and casino that was on Fremont Street. Has a lot of the old decor. What a trip. It has a selection of classic cocktails. Some are very old school. They have some newer ones too. Basically just a place to get drunk. They no longer have a food menu. I checked this out recently while trying to get something to eat at the restaurant next to here. They have a stage area where there's live music so you have another reason to hang out. It seems chill. The bar has video poker so you can fuck around while waiting for orders. I like getting the Tommy's Margarita. It's $9 for a pretty okay size. This is made with agave, fresh lime, and tequila. It goes down real easy. They have plenty of other cocktails to check out. Cool bar. It's fun looking around at the history. Bars like this are a little hard to find.... from the the glitz and glam of building exterior all the way to the live band playing in a theme what seems to be a nod to the Sinatra Era in Vegas. This is a dimly lit, cocktail club where you can come in enjoy some music and cocktails. Keep in mind the live music is pretty loud but if it's good music who cares right?. The place is spacious and separate room for live music stage. Seems great right? Theres just one flaw....this place has a horrible smell in the air. The whole venue had such a terrible nauseating odor and i couldnt determine where It was coming from or what the cause was. Just like Vegas used to be, I gambled some money in their machines and they had absolutely no problem comping all my drinks for my play. That's the way it should be everywhere . We had a great time as we did two years ago when visiting from out of state. Bartender Danny was awesome! He visited and talked with us and brought us drinks while we played poker and keno. So nice and so much fun! We visit LV every year at least and have made this our favorite place! Feels like a locals bar that we visitors can be welcomed like locals. July 28th was my first experience at The Mint Tavern. I'm a local, independent ballroom dance instructor and I was looking for a fun place for my students & myself to experience some Swing dancing "out on the town." One of my students had heard of The Mint Tavern so I decided that we should check it out. We attended the Swing class at 7:30 followed by social dancing at 8:30. Right away when I entered The Mint, Kurt, the bartender made me feel comfortable and at home. To my surprise, Kurt and I already knew each other from another previous establishment that he used to work at. It was such a wonderful surprise to see him again!! I truly had missed him. The Swing class was fun & the instructors were awesome and patient with the beginners. The core crowd was very friendly. My students felt comfortable and had a blast! They offer some cool rat pack history with added oddities such as a lonely typewriter with the first page of Hunter S Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". You'll walk into a dark U shaped bar lined with video poker machines and the smell of smoke, just like Vegas used to be! Very Vegasy! This is a typical hole-in-the-wall local tavern, close enough to downtown LV to reach out and touch it. There is plenty of free parking, which is a novelty on this side of town. It has amazing pictures of old Las Vegas, as well as videos running on the monitors of old Vegas stars and events. When you first walk in, you realize that it's much bigger than it appears from the road. The bar is big enough to sit about 15 people, each with video poker/blackjack games; then there are the tables and chairs. The drink prices are reasonable, and the bartender was a lot of fun. They do not have table service, you have to come to the bar. The bar itself is in a separate room from the larger room with the stage and couches. I came for karaoke and a friend's party. The host (Big Sexy - who can forget that name?) was funny, charming, and an amazing singer. He used modern equipment so that the rotation was clear and you could always see who was coming up next. He had an endless supply of songs, so no limitations. There is plenty of room for dancing. Overall, this is an easy-to-find venue and great for mid-size parties or get-togethers. read more

I had an amazing night here tonight. The bartender was amazing and everyone seems to know each other. He also makes pretty good drinks! The place has a bar on one side and a dance hall next door for people that wanted to learn how to do the swing dance. Although I am not a great dancer I enjoyed watching everyone having a nice time dancing and laughing. It'll be a great place for a group of friends a and or even date nights. They have swing dance classes I am not sure of the dates and fees I just saw it on the billboard ads when I was there.
