Traveled to Vegas to celebrate a friends birthday and decided to drop by this bar and I must say it was not a mistake. From the moment you step in you are greeted with an immediate shot of nerdom! Every inch of this place is filled with various artifacts from various franchises. Its overwhelming but awesome! From Star Wars to Warhammer, this place has something for everyone to enjoy. The decor isn't the only thing that is awesome, so are the drinks! They even have a D20 shot menu! you roll a D20 (twenty sided die) and whatever you land on is a different shot. The best part is a 20 is a free shot! (Critical success!!) and a 1 a random bartender made drink (which he assured as would live up to the critical failure that is a roll of 1!) I can't remember his (Michael maybe) but our bartender was amazing! Made awesome drinks and was welcoming from the beginning. If I make another trip to Vegas I am definitely stopping by here again!

Went with friends to a Taylor swift themed party at this bar and enjoyed it! As a millennial their decor spoke to me especially the Star Wars pieces throughout the space. I ordered a drink and it was good! Service was awesome. Definitely would go back! Parked for free in a restaurant parking lot nearby but I'm not sure if I just got lucky they didn't tow my car.

It's cute in a very cheesy, emo-teen kinda way. Def a vibe for the dork society which I am a proud member. When you walk in, you think you're about to have your breath taken away because the bathroom doors are so brilliantly painted. Then you walk through the threshold into the actual bar, and you're just like... "oh, okay" It feels like a hastily curated nerd showroom that started off with a Victorian-era motif but was abandoned halfway through the decorating process. The oddly placed pillars (which I assume are structural) add to that theme while also obstructing your view. Butttt truly, it works. Kinda. All the memorabilia from different movies is super fun to spot. It's like a treasure hunt for your eyes and mind as you try to remember where each piece is from. One piece I was delighted to see was one of the stones from The Fifth Element, randomly placed on a wall. I love that damn movie!! There were swords from this movie and helmets from that movie. Just all kinda stuff. Theres even stuff on the ceiling - writing. what it is? no clue. It's all very fun, but I think the fact that nothing is well-lit, staged, accentuated, behind plexiglass, or labeled with little info plaques... well... I don't know. The lack of curation kinda makes it all look like cheap replicas plucked off eBay, or kids' toys someone collected through a multitude of garage sales. Which isn't a baaaaad thing! It's just... very "young teen boy bedroom." Like, I'd be shocked if a woman was in charge of setting up the decor. This is definitely a place I'd hang out at with friends--but not a place I'd take someone to impress them. But I would take someone here if I wanted to convince them that I was a certified member of Alt Culture or Nerd Society--which I, in fact, am. And maybe that's why I wanted more from this place. IDK - maybe. I loved that they had a plethora of board games to choose from. However, I hated the couches. They look cool but feel terrible. felt like I was finna melt through that thang the base was so low. The drinks were decent, served in your run-of-the-mill off-strip dive bar plastic cups. No issue there. The crowd is eclectic and diverse AF. you've got: the flaming homies, the sexy goth girls, the "geek-to-chic" types, the NEETs, the Lolicons, the Renaissance fair regulars, the hip-hoppers, the curious... Loved to see it. The night I went, karaoke was in full effect, and I couldn't believe they had a live DJ curating it from inside a strip club/radio station setup--plexiglass and everything. The sound system they use for karaoke is the worst thing ever. It sounds like chaos and destruction making love. But the singers did not give a flying squirrel fck. They belted out EVERY WORD--and after my fifth almost-ear-bleed, I decided to take my leave. It wasnt fantastic it wasnt bad it was a solid place to feel welcome and be yourself. I took off a star for the worlds most uncomfortable couch, the ear canal destroying karaoke and my carbonless Ginger Ale. Would I go back? Prolly for Cosplay Night--which seems to be a Friday/Saturday thing. And I pray there's no karaoke.

Located near downtown is the ultimate geek bar. Everything is comic related and it is awesome. Friendly bartender and quick service. There is something going on every week. The bar has so many different opportunities to take photos with your friends. Last and not least is the comic cocktails listed. Get her asap to impress your geek friends.

This place is nerd heaven, and I love it here. The vibe is super chill and welcoming. Come in as dressed up or down as you feel like, and they'll still treat you to like family. Everyone is super nice and friendly (and happy to mix up pretty much any concoction your heart desires). One side of the place is an open activity space - somtimes they have art shows there and Halloween weekend they had face painters (totally awesome). The other half is comfy tabes and chairs for lounging and enjoying. The place is decorated in true nerd fashion, predominantly Star Wars, but plent of other fan favorite stuff, too. They also have a cabinet of boardgames to play free of charge. I definitely recommend stopping in.

This place is great! If you like a low key bar full of pop culture stuff, surrounded by interesting people, fun and delicious drinks, this place is for you. I tried several different cocktails and they were all delicious. And they serve food now! Everyone was super friendly and I will definitely be back.

I looooove this bar!! So cool with so much to see!! The colors, atmosphere, the whole set up is so good. I'm not into sci-fi or cosplay and I still loved this place. The menu has very unique drinks. I had ginger beer which weirdly enough was a half cup serving. It was delicious. Staff was friendly. I had a great time!

At first we had a difficult time finding the place because we were expecting to see a big sign but there was none. Locate the Art's Square sign and walk toward the double doors straight ahead. The vibes are very intimate, emphasizes the arts, and every bartender and server is very friendly, even the hostess! First off, loved their menu booklet. I learned a lot about different drinks. I also loved that they had pictures that went with their drinks too. Seriously, lots of options! I also loved that they gave us a little card that had their most popular drinks based on taste. Our check came in a DVD plastic too, super nostalgic. I have not seen one of these in forever. Lol My friend and I ordered our first cocktail off this card and they were both incredible. I ordered the Crimes of Passion and she ordered the Dreamsicle. I like my cocktails sweet and these were both great. We ordered truffle fries off their small bites menu, which was enough to hold us over. For the second cocktail, my friend ordered the Nocturno Espresso. She liked it a lot, but it wasn't my preference since it was just a little bitter. I ordered what my bartender recommended me. I mentioned liking sweet drinks and he asked if I liked strawberries to which I replied "of course!" He made me a cocktail named the "Two Step" that I couldn't find on their menu but it was exactly the kind of drink I was looking for. We recommend making reservations. We tried to walk-in one night and they had a 30 minute wait, so we ended up booking a reservation on OpenTable for another day. They only take reservations for 6 people or less, this place is intimate after all. Looking forward to stopping in again!

They had completely changed the menu. The reason was because they have a new chef. The food was good, we had the spicy tuna, Caesar salad for starters and the Pan Fried Salmon and Hanger Steak for the main course. The Espresso Martini was fantastic! Only complaint is they haven't updated their menu. It would be helpful if their menu was current because this menu was very limited. They didn't have dessert. We were told no a lot on things we asked for. To me, that's bad. The staff was great and the service was good but I probably won't be back.

Our waitress was super friendly and really encouraged us to try some things because we really weren't sure about the menu. She was super attentive and we really appreciated that. The reason I'm giving this a three star review (and I feel bad doing so) is because I genuinely hated the drinks. Like viscerally hated. The menu really was a struggle as someone who's a gin drinker. There wasn't a lot on the menu which I'm often used to, but the drinks were either cloyingly sweet or incredibly tart and bitter. There seems to lack of balance and there were a lot of really weird flavors that really didn't seem to go together. Now I can't speak on every single drink on the menu, but I did try a couple that are either premixed or on tap and I really struggled with them. I was excited about the ginger drink, and I was given a taste of their homemade ginger beer, and it felt like it was going to burn a hole through my stomach. Which is typically not my reaction to anything gender flavored. I just think the balance of flavors are not quite right and so certain things overpowered other flavors. I ended up really not wanting anything on the menu because everything was so rum based and I really don't like rum, so they offered to make me a cocktail with some flavors that I liked. They told me they had passionfruit, which I was really excited about. It usually is a really nice combination of sweet but not too sweet and good fruity flavor. I had a passionfruit gin drink made, and it was absolutely gorgeous coming out. Unfortunately, what I didn't know was that the passionfruit that they have is on the very sour and tart side (contained by a staff member later), which has never been my experience with passionfruit in the past. One of the things that I told the waitress was that I really don't like sour. I like citrus but not something that is so overly sour that it tastes like I'm eating a warhead. And the drink that was made for me had both lemon and this really tart passionfruit to the point all I could taste was this awful sour flavor. I felt bad and drank it and was not about to ask it off the bill because they were so kind about everything. The drink ended up only being nine dollars and I genuinely wonder if they undercharged me, but I felt a lot better that that's all I paid for it. Aesthetically it was beautiful, but it tasted horrible. I tried my friends drink, which was a play on a margarita with Mezcal, and that was also incredibly bitter and sour. I'm not someone who needs disgustingly sweet drinks, hence me not liking rum, but I do need a balance of sweetness with the other flavors. My friend thought her drink was OK, but she said she wouldn't order it again. I would definitely give this location another shot if I could figure out a drink that would work, but it seems their drinks either are very sour or very sweet and I'm hoping that at some point they will be able to find a good balance between the two.

The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.

I feel like this place can be easily missed since the building is all black, but definitely worth stopping in for. Vibes are very dark and intimate, yet lively. I am not sure how to explain it, but I liked it. Lol Somehow you can make a reservation, but I haven't looked into it. There were a bunch of seating against the wall on the couches but they were all reserved. My friend and I ended up at the bar in the "standing room" which was fine! Their seasonal menu is Conspiracy Theory based. I from that menu and my drink was called the Moon Landing Hoax, which was recommended to me but pretty strong in my opinion. I will say that the aesthetic of the drink was super cool with the astronaut. My friend ordered from their regular menu. She enjoyed her Repo Espresso Martini and she would order that again! All in all, I still like this bar a lot! I would come back again.

We were sat at a super cute table (there were 4 of us) and looked through the menu. The decor was super cute! Sort of old vintage looking couches around some tables, dim lighting, I loved the vibe. We each ordered something different from their cocktail menu from our very nice server. While waiting for those, our friend went to close out the tab and ordered shots, but asked for something that would be good. They proceeded to give us something with muddled strawberries, I was blown away at how good it was! Best shot I have ever had, so fresh. I love when you give bartenders freedom to play and create something so good! Our cocktails were so interesting and very tasty. I'd love to come back when we have some more time and try some of the other drinks. Everything about this place was amazing to me! Vibe, staff, the drinks, I had a great time!
