Absolutely loved this place. My bestie and I made a reservation for Saturday night at around 7. There was no wait but when we left, there was a long line outside to get in. I see why people love this place. Super cute inside, the food and drinks were awesome and our server was amazing. He recommended drinks and took good care of us. I would visit again. I hope it's soon !!

Came here on a Friday hoping to catch happy hour, only to find out it's now limited to Monday through Thursday... so just a heads up for anyone planning! Even though they were fully booked, the staff was kind enough to accommodate our group by seating us outside, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious... everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I'd highly recommend the duck. My nephew loveddd it! Definitely a spot I'd come back to. The only downside was the automatic 20% gratuity added for our table of five, especially since one of us was a kid. It felt a bit steep, but overall, still a great experience.

KFC are a must have on Mondays - they are on the happy our menu and one of the best out of a menu of exceptional foods. The staff is fun and inviting, always great to talk to them and have them join on the fun while enjoying the nice vibes that the moderne offers.

The Moderne really surprised me. After some other plans fell through for the evening, we found ourselves here on a Monday evening and it was unexpectedly lively. Monday is all night happy hour, which was a welcome surprise and even included some dishes that we were considering regardless. The Three Dots and a Dash was a very fresh take on a tiki drink and not too sweet at all. For $8 arguably the best value cocktail currently in Orlando. For food, we tried several pasta dishes including the miso cream noodle and the green curry pappardelle. I plan to return for the pappardelle alone as it was one of the more memorable and unique dishes I've had in a while. Our waiter also recommended the Korean fried chicken, which I will say rivals the beloved Domu wings. I would skip the ranch though as it was simply not needed. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a very intimate atmosphere, perfect for the impromptu date night we had. Location is awesome on Colonial. We did walk there so didn't have to find parking but there is a large lot behind and overflow across the street. On the service, our waiter seemed to simply have too many tables and subsequently service was a little slow. This didn't ruin the evening at all for us but worth mentioning. Overall, The Moderne was a solid experience with really unique dishes in a lovely atmosphere. It didn't feel like the typical fusion restaurant and its nice to have a higher end restaurant in this area.

The food, service and ambiance are amazing! Very satisfied with the experience. My friends & I had a great time! Don't forget to try their Korent chicken wings! Yum!

I am thoroughly surprised with this restaurant! We enjoyed several dishes, all of which were flavorful and well presented. The service was outstanding! The server was educated on the menu with great recommendations, passionate and communicative. We ordered the Yellowtail Ceviche, Chilean Seabass Skewer, A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Skewer, Beef Bulgogi, and the Miso Cream Noodle. My favorites were the Wagyu Skewer and Miso Cream Noodle.

I went here on a weekday after work to celebrate a friend's birthday. My first mistake was not making a reservation, fortunately, we were able to seat at the bar and that worked well for us. We started off with some drinks and most of us order the sake sangria, it was delicious and refreshing. We also ordered food including the croquettes, bao, sushi rolls, quesadilla and the seafood pappardelle. The food was great and perfect portions. The restaurant has beautiful decor and style but at the same time it felt pretty chill. I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.

I love the Moderne! The vibes, the service, the food are all incredible. A perfect date spot or nice night out with the girls, the Moderne doesn't miss. When I went with a friend, our server was so kind and gave us recommendations that were spot on. The only critique I have was that the miso cream noodle was a tad salty, but otherwise, each dish was packed with flavor that complimented each other. Definitely one of my top places in the Mills area.

Super cute but gets crowded fast if you don't have a reservation. My cousin and I went for happy hour on a Thursday and all the tables were full/already reserved. Luckily, there were 2 seats free at the bar. Happy menu is so fulfilling and cost effective. $8 STRONG cocktails? Yes please! Nice portions of food under $12? Yes and thank you. Everything was tasty, although some things needed a touch of extra salt and pepper. But I'll definitely go back. So many more things to try (moreso on the regular menu).

I recently spent an evening at The Moderne and grabbed a seat at the bar. The ambiance immediately sets the tone. The lighting is warm and moody, the décor feels modern and thoughtfully curated, and the whole space has that upscale-but-still-relaxed energy that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It's the kind of atmosphere that works just as well for a casual night out as it does for a celebratory dinner. Now for the food. A few dishes really stood out: * Miso cream noodles - easily my favorite of the night. Rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. * Asian sticky ribs - flavorful, and perfectly glazed. Definitely worth ordering. Some of the other items we tried were good but didn't quite stand out as much as those two. That said, the cocktails were fantastic and I would absolutely come back just to explore more of their drink menu. But the real highlight of the evening? The bartenders and staff. They were genuinely welcoming, full of great recommendations, and brought such positive energy to the experience. Sitting at the bar felt less like waiting for food and more like being part of the evening's vibe. Great service can elevate an entire meal, and that definitely happened here. Between the beautiful atmosphere, strong cocktails, and standout hospitality, this is a place I'd happily return to. Next time I'll be back at the bar with a drink in hand, another order of those miso cream noodles, and a mission to explore more of the menu.

This place is a vibe! Gorgeous decor and bar. Sat at the bar on a Sunday at 6:30pm, greeted quickly. Got one of their Feb special drinks and an original. Both were crafted with love & so much flavor, plus they're gorgeous (see pic!). Was so hard to pick what we wanted to eat, but we got a few things to share. Edamame (great but too salty for me), pork bao (wow!!), and green tofu curry (double wow!). I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it as a great happy hour or dinner spot.

Yummy food & great service! Overall, it was a good experience, but feels like something is missing to give it 5 stars. Definitely worth a try!

We really enjoyed the vibes, service, drinks, and food were all really good. It's open sitting so be prepared to wait or hurry to snag seats if needed if you're there with a group. It's great as well for a date night as well. If you sit at the couches you will have to go to the bar to order food. Overall I highly recommend!

Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. Conversations, music, the lounge itself .... all came together in a way that felt alive and IN THE MOMENT. When my LA friends visit, Alfie's is on the list. Go after 9 or 10 PM and plan to stay for at least two hours. That's when you really see the scene develop and come alive. Bring your ID: they card at the door. Even at my age, I still get carded. No complaining about that ! lol

The modern décor paired with classic Cuban music playing in the background created a classy, vibrant space with incredible energy and character. The standout dish of the night was, without question, the Squash & Burrata Salad. OH. MY. WORD. This may be one of my favorite dishes I've had all year. It was refreshing, slightly spicy, and packed with so much depth and texture. Every bite was perfectly balanced and left us wanting more. We also tried the lamb lollipops with cilantro-mint sauce and lemon garlic vinaigrette. The lamb was cooked flawlessly, tender and flavorful. The sauces complemented it well, although the vinaigrette leaned a little heavy on the lemon/vinegar for our taste. For our entrée, we shared the whole grilled snapper, and it was phenomenal. The fish was incredibly tender and well executed with savory and light garnishes. We especially loved the pickled peppers and the green sauce. The combination of mango and passion fruit was something I never would have expected to work so well, but the chef absolutely nailed it. To finish, we enjoyed the classic Cuban guava y queso pastelitos, which were the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. It evokes another era, the 1930s and 1940s, a hidden place where people escaped reality for a few hours and where every whispered conversation felt a little more dangerous than it should. There is something about saying the name out loud that feels almost mischievous. Even before stepping inside, it conjures images of old Hollywood glamour, forbidden romance, and the kind of longing that filled classic films. The sort of place where people met not because they had to, but because they couldn't stay away. The space itself more than lives up to the promise of its name. Death in the Afternoon is one of the most visually interesting places Orlando has to offer. It feels intimate, mysterious, and wonderfully removed from the ordinary. I couldn't help but think of The Great Gatsby, not because of excess or extravagance, but because of that same sense of romance, possibility, and yearning for something just out of reach. In fact, I visited twice in the same afternoon. My first stop was simply to satisfy my curiosity and see if the reality matched the image I had built up in my head. It did. So after completing the rest of my three-hour Mills 50 walk, I found myself drawn back for a meal and a chance to enjoy the atmosphere a little longer. The menu is limited, so choose wisely. The salmon entrée was excellent and easily the standout of my meal. The Caesar salad was pleasant enough, but the salmon is what I would come back for. As a perfect ending to the day, a dear longtime Yelp colleague joined me and we spent some time catching up on the latest news and gossip in our circles. Good conversation, a memorable meal, and an atmosphere that feels like it belongs to another time. Death in the Afternoon is not just a restaurant. It's the kind of place that stays on your mind long after you've left. Make sure your stay is not over 2 hours tho ..

The vibe is laid-back, the music is at a good volume, and it's a great place to enjoy dinner and drinks without feeling rushed. To start, we ordered the croquettes and the Caesar salad bites. The croquettes were very good and something I would absolutely order again. The Caesar salad bites, however, completely stole the show. They were insane and are a must-order every time I come back. For our entrees, we ordered the rigatoni and the chicken. This was my second time getting the rigatoni, and it was just as good as I remembered. Rich, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite dishes on the menu. The chicken was also very good and cooked well. That said, if you're looking for a protein entrée, I'd still recommend the tomahawk. My group ordered it on my first visit, and it's still one of the best dishes I've had here. The cocktails were excellent as well. I started with the Forbidden Bloom, which was fantastic. I also tried the Split Personality (Not pictured). It wasn't my favorite, but that's more a reflection of my taste since I'm not much of a whiskey drinker. I've also had the espresso martini on a previous visit, and it was phenomenal. Overall, Lamp & Shade continues to impress. I just apparently still believe that when oysters and $47 pasta appear on a menu, one should be able to hear the person sitting across the table. To be fair, the service throughout the evening was excellent and attentive, and the bourbon drinks ("Filthy Behavior") were genuinely good. We also ordered the croquettes, Caesar salad bites, 12 oysters, the spicy rigatoni with lump crab, golden rice with shrimp, and a discounted prosecco because it was oyster/prosecco Tuesday. The pasta itself was cooked properly, and the golden rice ended up being the least salty thing we ate, which unfortunately made it the standout. Everything else tasted as though the kitchen had recently suffered a tragic misunderstanding involving seawater. At one point we asked if the music was usually this loud because we genuinely couldn't hear each other speak. Our server kindly said she would check on it, but either management said no or the DJ entered a blood oath with the sound system. Conversation had become theoretical. Maybe this is the vibe now. Maybe dining is no longer about the food and meaningful conversation, with lighting so oddly bright--less intimate dinner, more "the club is closing, please locate your belongings"--while paying $220 for two people with automatic gratuity included. For me, the whole experience felt wildly overpriced--ordinary food dressed in extraordinary.
