I stopped by the Monarch Grill after a round of golf at trilogy and it was OK. I have to say the chicken wings were good. They had a couple different styles and a short rib taco were fire. Our server was Jessica and she was very nice. She came right over set us over with the table for two and I got our order out before we knew it. Everything was excellent. Food was fresh, delicious, cooked perfectly and served promptly. Everyone in our group of six were happy with their meal. We had Branzino special, meatloaf special, pepperoni pizza, Niçoise salad, Cobb salad, Wagyu burger, and chicken wings. Burger had no lettuce was cold fries tasted like they where sitting for a while not fresh or even close pretty disappointing for the price they charge the burger had good flavor and was juicy but the lack of execution completely ruined its potential. The serlion steak special for twenty ninety nine Was delicious, The veg was a little undercooked but the steak was perfect, The red wine reduction sauce was delicious. The mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes. The service was very good. I'm glad they're waitress suggested the special It couldn't have been better. I hope it goes on the menu. Could have dined anywhere however wasn't up to drive today, so we returned based on previous experience as stated above. I noted one server being attentive to her tables, so I motioned her to assist us. Our server did not check on us!!! Server informs us (4 top) that they are out of pasta so none of the pasta offerings on the menu are available on this Saturday night. Server then informs us that the "special" is a pork chop but warns the pork chop is tough and may be hard to cut. Special? The menu has a charcuterie board that is served with questionable mystery meats. Menu states the charcuterie board is served with bread but turns out that was another menu misrepresentation. We were offered crackers instead. Hospitality, service and quality is a huge hit and miss after a $2.2 million dollar facelift on this place. Management needs to step up or step aside. read more

So came in as Monarch is always on the neighborhood connect so my hubby and I decided to try it out. Servers/Staff super nice. Space is nice enough. We work from home and needed wifi. It was not available to us so we had to cut our stay and take food to go. We order the triple grilled cheese. This was unfortunate. The cheese tasted like the singles out of the plastic, not a good cheese. I thought we would get some combo cheese. I did not get a bread choice but then they did not ask and nor did I. The salad on the side was fine but the sandwich came over not like a toasty grilled cheese but like a warmed up microwave to melt the cheese. Will I come back. Maybe if someone can tell me what the best dish is. I was reading the hype on the chef but there was really nothing to write home about. So one big maybe I'll try again. If Monarch sees this tell me what is the number one dish to try and maybe I will. Also did have the clam chowder Mehhhh a little watered down. read more

Lovely evening at the Monarch, although at first, I was dismayed by a chef salad that clearly was not a true chef salad, no deli meat no Swiss cheese I was not in the mood for that because I just started the Atkins diet and I needed low carbs and proteins . fortunately, my waitress Megan responded promptly returned by chef salad, and the chef came out to the table. A recommendation from the chef which was outstanding was the steak wedge salad. The service was exceptional, and the conversation with the chef was awesome. This chef by the name of John has talent well beyond Rio Vista. I encourage this facility to listen to his talent and desires to move this place up a notch Vickie also helped the evening with a nice spicy bloody Mary and kindly One on the house due to the inconvenience of the blah chef salad as a local I would like the opportunity to visit this place more often. Of note, this is not a five star dining experience, but more of a club atmosphere casual dining on the golf course. Give it a shot. read more

But then I was quickly pacified by the kind girls, Tangina and Amber, who were serving me. I ended up having a good meal with an even better atmosphere. The food is hit or miss and mostly a miss. I really want to love this place but just can't. When you have management yelling at their employees and customers it's time for a new management. Unfortunately, this one doesn't know how to manage. And we pay their salaries and have to pay for the lost revenue as well. Very very sad. read more
