Blown away by every bite! My mother ordered the lobster tail that she'd seen raved about online, and I ordered the peanut chicken because it sounded so interesting and unlike anything I'd had before. Both were absolutely incredible - perfectly cooked and with layers of flavor. To top things off, we ordered the tiramisu tres leches, made with coffee roasted in-house. We were also gifted a sample of the caramel flan, which was equally perfect. We were completely doted on by everyone, from our server to the chef to the pastry chef. Everyone was so kind, and VERY clearly knew their craft to a tee. They've made such fantastic use of the little diner-like space - it was very comfortable and welcoming. Come here for some amazing authentic comfort food. We all left with big smiles and happy memories. Service: so friendly and so welcoming. The chef, Memo, came out and talked to us. He told us how Memo's came about. He is from the Bay Area and was a chef for high end restaurants in Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Brought it right here in this cute little community called Isleton. A hidden gem in Isleton that I found on my way home from Sac., and I'm truly glad I made the pit stop. Service was great and food was even better! Plus everything was made in house. I tried the Chile con Queso, a very different version of a typical Chile relleno. This grilled Pasilla pepper was filled w/mozzarella cheese & mashed potatoes, served w/chunky salsa ranchera. It was tasty but I still prefer the standard chile relleno. I took the cilantro rice and black beans to go. The next day I made a burrito and it was good. The dessert, Queso Napolitano was to die for! It was rich & creamy w/caramel and topped with strawberry jam. I can't believe we waited so long to try this new spot in Isleton! The resraurant is small but the vibe is spot on and makes you feel comfortable. Hannah was our server and she was so sweet and very helpful with any questions we had about the menu. 10/10 service! Memo even came up to our table to introduce himself and ask us how we were doing. Three of us had lunch at this restaurant today and found it a delightful experience. One of us had the vegan skewers, one had a shrimp dish, and the third had street tacos. Awesome fat burritos featuring scratch made meats and salsas. Extremely high end quality, but reasonably priced. No low-end fillings. Staff and owner super friendly. Owner was explaining to us how he makes this special "tomatillo rice" for the burritos. Sweet espresso machine. All in all a great food experience. :) I used to spend 1970's and 1980's summers on my dad's sailboat tied up to the trees along steamboat slough near here, which was a HUGE scene at that time,,,tons of liveaboard boaters. And we'd sometimes drive here to isleton for gas. Ice. Food. Etc. It's nice to see this 19th century historic town revitalized now as a vibrant restaurant scene. So cool! We finally made it out to Memo's in Isleton and had a great experience. The cochinita burrito was excellent, the ceviche tasted incredibly fresh, and the sangria was really good. Just a warning, the salsa that comes with the ceviche is seriously hot. They warn you at the table, and they're not exaggerating. We finished with the coconut flan and tiramisu (yes, both), and both were unreal. The food was great, but the people running the place made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and clearly cared about what they were serving. Memo's is absolutely worth the drive. We'll be back a lot more often. read more

Memo's Cuisine is a sweet new restaurant to try. What a lovely little town and spot to rest from traveling. The restaurant is small and inviting. We received warm smiles and felt instantly welcome. It has an eclectic dinner menu with cuisine of a latin focus. Savanah took our order and was very personable and helpful with our choices. I appreciated her natural and honest serving style. We did in fact receive service from the entire front of the house, feeling doted on by everyone. We began with beer and sangria in a sultry glass. My husband ordered the airline chicken with peanut salsa. The peanut flavor blended beautifully with the dish though we thought the chicken was a tad overdone. I ordered the beef skewers with chimichurri. The chimichurri is on top of the steak. The dish was delicious and I was happy with my choice. Dishes were served with rice and choice of beans on the side. They are made to order. We started with the caesar salad that Savanah recommended because of its authentic dressing. Fresh, tasty, and satisfying, just as she said! We finished with flan that had a red berry coulis sauce on top with a touch of whipped cream. At the end of the meal, the chef came out for a table visit. Memo's cuisine are dishes close to Chef Memo's heart and you cannot go wrong by going a short distance from the beaten track for a bite to eat. I had a breakfast tower aptly named for the water tower across the street in Isleton! Talk about fresh ingredients, great service and presentation! The food was excellent, full of flavor with each bite. I had a vegetarian tower with egg, cheese, sour cream sliced avocado, grilled potatoes, zucchini , onion peppers, mushrooms along with black beans and cilantro rice. All I can say is, WOW. This place is great. Got there at 8pm on a Friday, Apple Maps claimed they closed at 9, but they actually closed at 8. We walked up to the door, saw they were actually closed and turned to leave but then one of the owners INSISTED that it's okay that we come in. I'll admit I was hesitant at first because most restaurants just stink eye you if you come in around closing time, but not memos. The owner was also the server, quickly sat us down and gave us menus and insisted we take our time choosing. The menu is relatively small compared to most restaurants, but honestly? It's perfect. There was basically a dish for any mood. We ended up also getting the guac appetizer, which was extremely good! My wife got the beef skewers and I settled on the pork chop. And again, WOW. The beef was so tender and the chimichurri was extremely flavorful. The pork chop was so soft and juicy. The veggies under it were also so perfectly seasoned and cooked. Both dishes were paired with beans, rice, and tortillas. The beans were phenomenal and the rice was so fluffy. My wife also got a sangria that some might call dangerous. Extremely good. Overall genuinely this place is 10/10 From the staff, to the food, and even the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. If you haven't been, I highly recommend. I found Memo's via Yelp when driving home from Bay Point in the East Bay. The reviews were spot on. It's charming, friendly, has a great wine list, and the food...OMG. I had a late lunch of shrimp taco and cochinta taco with a side of tomatillo rice and black beans...and wine. It was so good I waited for dinner service and took home their shrimp plate and the pepper stuffed with cheese and mashed potatoes to share with my mom. She's picky. She loved every bite, as did I. It's delightful to find a gem like this that cares about every element of their menu and elevates it. I thoroughly enjoyed the owners, as well. My friends and I had a fabulous lunch experience at Memo's on August 6th. I added "experience" for good reason. Our server, Jorge, couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. Then, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, carefully and beautifully prepared and presented with pride. Restaurant owner, Memo, also stopped by our table to chat and told us about his career in the restaurant business and how it led him to build and open his own restaurant in Isleton. It's a small restaurant with charming decor that feels very "homey." Their margaritas are delicious and they offer mimosas and many different wines. And they even sell bags of their own special brand of roasted coffee beans. Lastly, if you go you must try their dessert that's a cross between flan and cheesecake. It is served in light caramel sauce like flan, but it has the consistency of a rich velvety cheesecake. It's topped with whipped cream and berry puree and oh my, it was the best! A hidden gem in Isleton! Great Latin American foods with a emphasis on delicious Mexican. My wife had a fantastic "Surf & Turf" burrito with carne asada and shrimp while I opted for the carnitas special. The carnitas were lean and cooked beautifully served with a a mild green salsa. The service was exceptional and knowledgeable. The server answered all of our questions about the menu and portions. The outside of the restaurant is nondescript, although the outdoor service area looks like it could be great, but and interior was cozy and welcoming. Passing through on a road trip we stumbled on this place. We went in without high expectations. Just another little dive taco/burrito place. By the time we left we could not stop complimenting the entire operation. The service, the food, the cleanliness, all amazing. Normally we would look for a good place to eat near a destination spot but now this restaurant has become the destination spot and we are looking for other reasons to go to the area! We read there are some museums that preserve a lot of the history of the area. But Memo's will be the reason we travel there. We had 4 diggerent tacos, ceviche, chips and guacamole, and a surf and turf burrito. Usually I experience just choosing the meat in the tacos and the fixings are all the same. These are all unique tacos with intentional flavor pairing fixings to go with the choice of meat. If you like a salsa with a kick they have a citrus flavored hot salsa. We have never experienced cucumber for guacamole dipping but they pair very nicely with their very fresh guacamole appetizer along with crispy fresh toriltilla chips. The server explained each item when she served them before we would eat it.
