Why 4 stars? Because it was a perfectly fine experience. --- --- --- After landing at IAH, I was on the hunt to grab something quick on the way home. I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area. read more

Cleanliness Service Family friendly Flavor I loved the staff and their attentiveness. But the flavor, seasoning, and execution of the food needs work. If you don't like spicy or seasoned food, this place works for you and you don't need to continue this review. If you do care for those things and you try this place, you might agree that the flavor profile is catering to the demographic of the location that the restaurant is in and not the authenticity of the culture that it should represent. I know of another location, but this is not to take away business for one restaurant, but to help encourage this one to lean more into its authentic flavor. Even if that means moving locations because your demographic may not care for it. I had chicken Biryani (safe for an American) but the chicken was dry and with minimal flavor. The rice lacked flavor. The raita was ok, if you like everything blended together. The onions and lime/lemon you might usually have on the side was not offered with this. Fried cauliflower with chicken 65 seasoning, had a good spice level, but it was soggy. read more

I chose this place because of the good reviews. They offer two options a buffet or ordering from the regular menu. We ended up doing the $20 buffet. It looked really good, but unfortunately it was the worst Indian food I've ever tried. Even the better dishes weren't that great. It's been at least six times I've ate from here, and I have yet to eat inside-- it's mostly always pick up or a catering event. The dish that has been the stand out dish to me has been the chicken biryani. I feel like in the North side-- this is the best we have, so I will continue to order from here. They do give chutney which they call raita, but if you think it's the one with onions and cilantro in it, it's not. I do like that the chutney/ Raita whatever they want to call it is thick-- I'm always annoyed when it's as liquid as water. They charge a dollar extra or any extras. Now for the cons: I had picked up a catering order before and the food wasn't ready when they said it would be. I waited a while for it which wasn't a huge deal for me but it would be if you had hungry guests waiting to eat. It makes the host look bad when the food is late. I wanted to get a take out my menu for next time, and apparently they don't have any menu that you could take with you so I had to take pictures of it. Also, if you need any catering prices, you have to call them to get it and they we still haven't word for an upcoming event. I think it's weird that they don't have any take out menus or a catering menu-- it's almost like they don't want to do business. I checked fb and insta to see if they have deals but they only have a couple of recent posts, everything else was old, but didn't see any. I did see that they do buffets now so I might try that out. As long as the biryani continues to be good, I'll keep coming back for more. read more

Wow, this was one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to, and I'm surprised to find it all the way in Spring! The vegetarian thali was incredible. So flavorful and full of spice. I believe I ordered the mixed vegetable masala, aloo gobi, and channa daal fry. Very filling dish even with the absence of meat. The garlic naan was pillowy and fresh! Very friendly service as well! We have ordered takeout here before but this evening was our first time to dine in. We were greeted very warmly and were explained to that the phone systems were down and therefore no ambient music could play. We were also proudly informed that the buffet was recently opened. After browsing the options briefly we both ordered the buffet. I think we tried one bite of every item. Some of our favorites were the standby basmati rice and tikka masala. Some other favorites were the mixed vegetable curry and the signature chicken tandoori. There was a small salad bar and dessert area that included homemade dressing and fresh fruit. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and the overall vibe inside was clean and nicely decorated. I ended up ordering the Butter Chicken Curry and the garlic naan. Our go to Indian restaurant. We've only eaten there once but they were kind enough to give us free lassi when we burned our tongues with spicy food! The ambience is really nice, people were also very nice and friendly. My husband loves their Karachi burger. I love their chicken lollipop. It's so so delicious. I ate their biryani on my wedding day. Couldn't think of anything more appetizing on a day filled with anxiety. We love you curry masala!! read more

The very sweet mother figure of the restaurant was as knowing as she was charming: though I mentioned I tend to not enjoy sweet dishes, she advised I order this certain app that is partially sweet (but also partially spicy). I'm so glad I took her advice! I thus discovered their stunning appetizer of eight puff shells of Dahi (Meethi) Puri. Sweet, complex and flavorful: red onions, mint and tamarind chutney, garbanzo beans, yogurt, date sauce and a special spice mix. Food here was great, and definitely satisfied my craving for Indian food! Curry Masala is a quaint and cozy family operated restaurant with an extensive menu! My boyfriend and I ordered the following to try family style: butter chicken, beef bihari kabobs, dahi puri, and two smoothies. Each entree comes with a choice of basmati rice or naan bread, and the portions were very generous! We loved everything we ordered. The beef Bihari was a bit on the salty side, but the meat was very tender nonetheless. Butter chicken was good, as always. The smoothies were AMAZING, so I highly recommend to order one to pair with your meal. Service was very friendly. Only thing could be improved is the order that the food comes out. We first received our entrees, then our "snack" (dahi puri), and our smoothies came last when we were done eating. We got full from eating our entrees, so we couldn't really enjoy the other food as much. Nothing takeout couldn't fix though! read more

I lived in India (Mumbai) and ate street food. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to Indian food. As long as it's not westernized. I order from here about 2x per month. This place offers really good food. The Chana Masala is excellent. The Saag. Terrific. My kids LOVE the Tandori Chicken. And don't get me started on the Vegetable pakora! So, why not 5 stars?? Because there's a place in Sugarland and two others in Austin, and that one place in the old Mall in Dallas, that are absolute musts when I'm nearby. But this place ticks all the right boxes. I will gladly drive from the medical center to Spring for their food! Any Houstonian knows that is the ultimate compliment. Everything was absolutely excellent. The chicken biryani was moist, flavorful and the chicken breast was cooked perfectly. Kabobs were a flavor explosion. The lamb was eye watering delicious with the garlic naan. The mango lassi was quite delicious. I should have ordered another to go. Excellent food, great service (We went on a Saturday at 2pm) and wonderful ambiance. Turns out one of the owners and my family are from the same area in Karachi. She is such a delight and takes so much pride in customers enjoying their experience at Curry Masala. When me and my husband crave Indian food this place is the only place will come to eat it! Simply it's just the best from the service to the food! I decided to finally leave a review because usually we always just pick up to go but this time we decided to dine in and honestly with the service we received they deserve 5 stars and some recognition because I have not once ordered from here and not liked the food or received bad service. I do have to say though the portion with the chicken in the dishes like butter chicken or chicken tikka has definitely cut in half even the goat dish I can't really remember what it was called our server recommended it I wasn't a fan I would've gone with the butter chicken bc it's absolute my favorite but I wanted something no spice and this dish was perfect for that but it barley had any meat! It was like one little chunk of lamb maybe cut into pieces. I understand with inflation everything has gone up but it just sucks we always loved this place because how big their portions used to be we always had leftovers for lunch the next day but now not any...I will still continue to come here though bc simply they have the best Indian food in my opinion! read more

Just seemed pretty in professional. Also when we got there, the door was locked at 4:30pm when it opened at 11am. This is easily the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. I feel dumb for not coming here when I lived 5 mins down the road. The service was A1. Everything we ordered had so much flavor. The chicken tikka masala was really good not too sweet. The "yummy in my tummy curry" was the best curry I ever had. I was full and still finished the whole thing because it was so good. Both naans were hot and fresh. The fried cauliflower is called "cauliflower 65" on the menu. I cannot pinpoint what the flavor tasted like but it was so good we couldn't stop eating it. This is the best restaurant in the Rayford area. The inside was very homey and nice. Definitely will be a regular customer here. read more

I'm a newbie to Indian food and I realized I needed some more culture so went here. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was really good, especially with their naan bread (which they're real generous with). Honestly, there wasn't a whole lot of spice but the flavor made up for it. My folks ordered butter chicken and the chicken pakoras which, while well seasoned, honestly felt kinda dry even with the included dipping sauces. The Awesomosas were criiiiiiiispy tho, you should definitely order those the next time you go in. Overall, this has been a great introduction to Indian/Pakistani food for me and I definitely recommend it. Also the decor is fancy lol, I was astonished. read more

Came by for lunch the other day. The front of the house was run entirely by this nice lady. I ordered a thali plate so can I can sample a few things, vegetable masala, paneer, and daal, and they were all delicious, at the normal American Indian spice level.
