As you enter... we were here for a to-go only!

Stopped here for a couple of to-go dishes as we weee in the area for some work and wanted to get some quick lunch that we could consume once we returned home. Service was courteous and with a smile. Food was passable but even the North Indian dishes were made in Andhra style. Will need more compelling reasons to return

I got pickup. Corn starter was great! Chop soy was too sweet. That's not authentic. I would try it again in person and try more dishes before making up my mind on the restaurant!

Made a random stop here. Saw the sign and pulled up for something new. Busy place. The nice hostess up front explained the menu and led me to a table out on the patio. The menu is IndoChinese and traditional Indian dishes. I ordered the Kadhai Chicken and a butter Naan. The kadhai was tasty but being from Karachi I'm biased ! Regardless I would order it again just call it by some other name. The naan ended being more like a roti. I like mine nice and fluffy and fully cooked. Service was prompt and friendly. This place could have received a much higher rating except for one major issue - I found out that if I leave a tip on a card then the server does not receive it. A big issue for me and I'm unlikely to return for that reason. These poor kids working there deserve better.

What a gem in Castle Hills Realm! Indo-Chinese that's authentic with unique dishes to satisfy your taste buds! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The ambience is soothing, with cool lighting and easy going atmosphere. There is plenty more f seating for small and large groups. The menu features what you may expect but also has some unique Monk Specials like the Corn Chat Patai, which was an awesome appetizer that made my mouth dance!! (The best I can describe this is like an Asian version of elote, minus the mayo and cheese) and I loved the chicken tandoori momos!!! They are plenty big and filled- and the spice level was perfect! I also enjoyed the Monks Special Noodles w with all the veggies and chicken - though I did have to ask for the sweet chili sauce to add a bit of sweetness! - Yummm!! Overall this food was great! Not overwhelming with any particular flavor or spice - good to have every day even! Saying this to say, we will definitely be back!

We visited after a fun evening out with family, hoping for a great meal--especially since my partner had enjoyed the Irving location. Unfortunately, our experience fell short. The ambiance was inviting, and the naan was well made, but the rest of our meal was disappointing. We ordered saag paneer with naan and bandi noodles, requesting a spice level of 3 out of 5. The server didn't clarify how spicy that would be, and the noodles arrived much hotter than expected--so spicy we couldn't eat more than a few bites. The saag paneer was watery and lacked flavor, though the naan was fresh and soft. When we mentioned the spice issue to the manager, there was no effort to address our concerns. We ended up taking the noodles home and, in an attempt to salvage them, ate them with peanut butter. While the setting is nice, the food and service need improvement to match the reputation of other locations. Would not recommend for those sensitive to spice or looking for attentive service.

We love everything about The Monks! Honestly, we probably come once a week. The staff have become like family, and are so kind. They are always thoughtful about the fact that we bring our kids, and give us paper plates and plastic silverware for them. They know and remember that we appreciate their drinks coming in plastic cups. The chairs are also great for small kids at a table because they contain them well and they can't fall out. For such a beautiful restaraunt, they make it so family friendly. The service alone is enough to keep coming back, and I haven't even mentioned the food! It's too good to share, so my husband and I each have to get our own mango lassi, Dynamite Chicken, and Mugalai.

Absolute ridiculous quality with to go orders, and the food always feels like it's been warmed up in a microwave just before being served.

Food is really good and reasonable. People at front desk are so nice. They open until midnight during weekends.

40% of the items on the menu were not available including peanut masala . Drinks also seem they were watered down.

A visit from local favorite bartender Matthias caused the need to visit this bakery, which doubles…read moreas a bar a few nights a week. Full stocked bar with some interesting ideas for drinks. Square top peninsula bar to the left as you walk in and lounge area sofas and arm chairs to sit in groups to the right. Place is clean and just FYI it has one unisex bathroom and the place opens at 7 PM. This Friday night featured an appetizer menu, what I will call a munchies menu of tacos made by another vendor, and bottle cap bingo of all things. I tried the pecan bourbon old fashioned ($13) and found it to be good. I try to limit the add-ins somewhat and so I just stuck with Buffalo Trace on a large rock for the rest of the night. My wife had several mixed drinks that were in the $12 range. Matthias came up with a drink that was, per my wife, "sweet and strong." I thought maybe she was thinking of me when she ordered but she nixed that idea pretty quickly....LOL Mini-charcuterie ($12) I thought left something to be desired. Beef jerky added with just a toothpick of cured meats. Not sure how they fit three different types on there but they did and it was just enough to make you want more. Cheeses seemed to be basic run of the mill diced. Per my wife it was ok, but she would probably pass on ordering it again. It's not meant as an entree to be fair and there is a good portion as a whole, but just overly simple and a little light on proteins. I'd cut down the cheese and double the toothpick, also 86 that jerky stuff and probably have a decent plate. Maybe even through a couple extra strawberries on there. Two sisters sitting next to us ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. They said the dip was fine but the baguettes were way over-toasted (i.e. too dry) and that seems like an easy fix. Later in the evening during bingo I tried a couple of tacos. They are brought in and stored, reheated when ordered. Unfortunately it seems like it as the flour tortillas are quite soft and it just doesn't come out fresh. The relleno burrito is just a relleno wrapped in a flour tortilla; the potato and chorizo had my wife's approval and mine as well. Laura runs a good bar over there, and some of you may remember her from Torchy's down the road. Fair pours and prices commensurate for around the area. Bingo runs pretty quickly, even the blackouts and the organizer had a plinko game a la price is right style. Was a fun run down memory lane for me. In a bit of irony, we never ordered dessert, which is the main focus of this business during the week. The samples I saw looked pretty good and it seems like the bar is just a way to make use of the space off bakery hours which I can appreciate. To me though they are nearing that price range where I'd expect a little better from the kitchen for appetizers. About $120 was the overall tab which we capped with a 25% tip. Went home after having a good time but just felt they fell short on the food.
