I've arrive at The Glass Turtle to enjoy one of their legendary burgers, along with a couple pints of cold beer.
    Eric R.

The Glass Turtle is a fun, comfortable sports bar and lounge that serves delicious pub cuisine, with many choices of beer on tap, any mixed drink you can imagine. If you're a lover of the great outdoors, the restaurant features an amazing patio, where you can relax, enjoy a drink or a fine meal, and watch the world go by. The Glass Turtle is a great bar and a wonderful restaurant, located in Roseville, CA. The front door is located on the deck of the restaurant, and you'll note the sports pennants and beer signs, along with the California state flag. You've truly arrived! As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the long bar, with many bar stools, which were well-seated on this early Friday afternoon. The dining room is spacious, and furnished with tall tables and chairs, which make for comfortable dining. The bar features many beers on tap, which tend to run on the "premium" side of things. Besides beer taps, the bar is decorated with every type of bottle you would ever wish for, and in my case, many brands and bottles that I've never heard of, since I'm mostly a beer kind of guy. To enhance the "sports bar" feel to the lounge, there are television monitors, what at the time of my visit, were tuned to a major league baseball game in progress. The furniture is tall bar tables with matching chairs, all in polished oak, which makes for attractive furniture. The patio is located in front of the restaurant, on a wooden deck, and offers both tall bar table and chairs, and standard tables and chairs for your dining pleasure. The patio is covered, shaded, and there are heaters to keep things warm during cold weather. On this early July afternoon, with the temperature hovering around he 90-degree mark, I chose to enjoy my delicious "GT Burger" outside on the patio. From the "Large Plates" section of the menu, I went with the "flagship" burger, the "GT Burger," and a side of onion rings. As optional "add-ons" - for a small additional charge - for the burger, I added "Pepper Jack Cheese," along with "Applewood" bacon. I upgraded the "House Potato Chips" to "Onion Rings," again, for a small additional fee, but I was simply craving onion rings on this Friday afternoon. I wasn't disappointed! This delicious burger starts out with a third pound of premium Angus beef, cooked to order. I ordered my meat to be cooked medium, and it arrived as ordered, juicy, lightly seasoned and just a little crisp on the outside, and moist and tender inside. The meat was placed inside a lightly buttered and toasted bun. I ordered "everything" on my burger, and my burger arrived garnished with sliced tomato, white onion and a couple slices of lettuce. All veggies were crisp, fresh and chilled, which made an amazing contrast to the warm meat, cheese, bacon and bun. One of the criteria for a "top shelf" burger is the contrast between warm and chilled, and The Glass Turtle "nailed" this burger category. The burger arrived without any dressing, which I always love, as I prefer to customize my burger, and enjoy it MY WAY. A tray of condiments was placed on the table, which included mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, along with a bottle of "Tapatio" Mexican hot sauce, but the burger was so juicy and delicious that it didn't need any "enhancements" as I loved it the way it arrived. I upgraded my burger by adding a slice of "Pepper Jack" cheese, along with a couple pieces of "Applewood" sliced bacon. For the added taste sensation, I can afford to spend a couple extra bucks before contacting my banker! I paid an extra dollar for the side of "Onion Rings," as I'm not a fan of potato chips with a burger, as I prefer something more substantial. "Onion Rings" made the prefect side for the "GT Burger," The onion rings were light, crispy, and perfectly deep fried to a golden brown, with crispy fried batter on the outside, which complimented and contrasted with the tender white onion. The onion-to-batter ratio were perfect, and the onion rings were simply delicious. My "GT Burger" and side of "Onion Rings" were simply delicious, and perfect in every way. Burger lovers should take note that The Glass Turtle delivers an amazing burger! The Glass Turtle serves delicious food, ice cold beer, and if the weather is nice, you'll enjoy your amazing meal on the friendly and comfortable patio. Fine drinks and dining is to be enjoyed at The Glass Turtle, located in Roseville, CA.

Be sure to help customers when they are not sitting at the bar. It seems they don't care too much unless they are selling you a drink(s)!

All craft beer and I could definitely taste the quality of the brew! The staff was very friendly and the one gentleman that helped me was so great about letting me try different beers so I could pick the one I wanted to order. When you get service like that; repeat, order, enjoy. I ordered a 2nd pint mostly because I was interested in trying some more of their beers. They had great lunch specials with some diverse options that included lighter and healthier options for a very reasonable price. I ordered the Angus beef sliders, and I asked for them to be cooked, medium rare if possible. If you know sliders, you know that they are difficult to do a medium rare, but this chef came through; my sliders were a very nice medium, rare, juicy and delicious! The caramelized onion was beautiful, just very yummy. Well, darn, it got a little busy 3:00 ish and here I am writing this fabulous review and I think he forgot to bring me my 2nd pint of beer? I reminded him and he brought it right away! I don't drink beer very often anymore, but it was just that kind of day, and a cold beer sounded good. I tend to like lighter bodied craft beers with a strong ABV, but not too fruity and limited dankness. I enjoyed a pint called Flying Fortress it was a single IPA and then another called, Present Tense, = Hazy Single IPA. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to return.

Making a reservation by phone is super easy and staff is very friendly. The owner, Al Santos, calls back to discuss further details and confirms the order which I think is such a plus especially in a world where everything is digital. We can't say enough about Al's hospitality! And the fact that he is from Niles, we loved supporting a Bay Area native! Our reservations of usually 30 or more are ready for us when we come in - Al made sure there was a table for the team and then separate ones for the parents. They also accommodate different checks - not individual ones which is difficult but we batch together orders to make it easier on the staff. Drinks are solid and pour on the cocktails solid to generous based on what everyone received. Wait staff is friendly and attentive even when the rest of the restaurant is busy. Food is solid as well. We never felt rushed during our times there. The establishment is clean, has a nice atmosphere and offers outside seating as well. And if Al is there, he'll always come over and say hi and ask how things are going- definitely something we appreciate and it's what sets Goose Port apart! You'll be treated to some of the best pizza in town, along with amazing service, that's as friendly as it gets. As you enter the restaurant, you'll we welcomed by a friendly host, and you'll notice the full-service bar and the many television monitors, which give a "sports bar" feel to the restaurant. On the wall, next to the bar, is a list of specials when a game is being played. Scoreboards leans heavily towards a sports bar, and offers a great place to relax, and enjoy a game. On this late Saturday morning, not much was happing in the world of sports, but that wasn't my "plan," as I was content to enjoy the late morning on the patio, along with a "Classic Burger." From the "Free Agents/Burgers" section of the menu, I went with a "Classic Burger," with "Ciabatta" as my bun and "Thousand Island" for my dressing. To really make my classic "old school," I went with Cheddar cheese, which always works wonderful with a fine burger. All "Free Agents" on the menu include shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sliced red onion and dill pickle slices. Perhaps it was the beer talking to me, but today, I enhanced my "Classic Burger" with sliced avocado and bacon, to make this a special treat. The burger started with a half pound hand-formed patty of tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned beef, cooked to medium. I didn't ask my beef to be cooked medium - it arrived that way - which was fine with me, as that's how I prefer my beef. I assume you could have your beef cooked any way you choose by just asking your friendly server. The beef was placed on a buttered and lightly toasted ciabatta bun, which held together well, and helped to round out the juicy "bite" of the beef. As per my order, both sides of the buns were coated with "Thousand Island" dressing, and a melted slab of Cheddar cheese was placed on top of the meat. The burger was dressed with diced lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced red onion and dill pickle chips. The optional avocado slices and bacon added an extra "foodie" dimension to this amazing burger. Truly a delicious, "old school" burger to enjoy! The large side of fries complimented and enhanced this wonderful burger! What goes together better than a burger, along with an order of fries? The fries were perfectly deep fried to a rich, golden brown, deep fried crispy on the outside, soft, white and tender on the inside. Like the burger, the fries were perfect! From the "Free Agents/Burgers" section of the menu, I went with a "Turkey Burger" as my second burger, thanks to the "Buy one get one free" offer I had received online to redeem during the month of May. Like all burgers on the menu, the "Turkey Burger" gave you a choice of bun, dressing and cheese. I chose a "Ciabatta" bun, Cheddar cheese, and like my "Classic Burger," I opted for Thousand Island dressing, to make this an "old school" delight. Like all burgers on the menu, the "Turkey Burger" includes shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices and dill pickle chips, and includes a mountain of delicious fries. I opted for a "to-go" box for my "Turkey Burger," as it was my "freebie burger" - thanks to the promotion - and I had plans to take it home and enjoy it for dinner. The meat patty of turkey was BIG... one half pound, and amazing juicy, flavorful and tender. I admit that I was pleasantly surprised, as most turkey patties are dry and boring, but not so at Scoreboards Pizza and Grill! The thick turkey patty was tender, juicy and grilled to perfection. Seasoning was slight or maybe non-existent... no complaints on my part as the burger was simply delicious! Like the "Classic Burger," the "Turkey Burger" was placed on a buttered, and grilled "Chiabatta" bun. As per my order, the turkey patty was covered with a slice of melted Cheddar cheese, which worked well with the "Thousand Island" dressing to garnish my burger. Shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced red onion and dill pickle wedges rounded out the burger. Like the mountain of fries I enjoyed with my "Classic Burger," the fries were deep fried to a perfect golden brown, and made for an amazing side to this simply delicious "Turkey Burger." The "Turkey Burger," along with the fries were "on the house," thanks to the offer I received online, so I brought them home in the "to-go" box and enjoyed the delicious meal for dinner. Thanks... Scoreboards Pizza and Grill for the delicious dinner! Such an amazing restaurant in every way... FIVE STARS all the way for delicious food and amazingly friendly service.
