This is a unique and conveniently located baby/kids boutique in Midtown. We always find what we need here for baby and kid's clothing, accessories, toys, you name it. The owner is friendly and accommodating. I love finding the same items here as I would driving 40 minutes away to Nordstrom's at the Galleria. It reminds me of a tiny Goore's( RIP). After shopping here you can stop by any of the numerous small businesses nearby and get a coffee, lunch or shop the many adult clothing boutiques . I love this adorable shop and the midtown area. I am so happy I found this cute shop on Yelp! I wanted to find a local kid's store to find a cute outfit for my niece's birthday and The Moppet Shoppe did not disappoint! They have a huge selection of children's clothing, toys, and accessories for all ages. They also had a large quantity of sale items which was really great. LOVE this shop. I enjoy picking up gifts that are not mass produced. I prefer one of a kind, quality items not made in China (had no idea Posh Peanut is made in China). Although some items are, I am able to find many items that fit my preference, and lots of organic cotton. This shop has the cutest one of a kind baby items. My husband, 2 month old and I visited for the first time while taking a stroll in the neighborhood, and we left with the most unique onesie I had never seen before or anywhere online, & a book by Eric Carle I had never heard of before either! It's so nice to see quality items in-person. Will likely return to check out more of their books, their wonderful selection of sleepsacks (and other clothes) & to peruse their fall/winter items too! So, this one is compliments of my wife. We needed shoes for our little guy who just started walking but hates having anything on his feet. This is where parents and gift-hunters should go for all things tyke-related. Within the walls of this cozy shop you'll find a better selection of brands and unique kid duds than any of the larger stores combined. After just two months with an infant who naturally requires frequent outfit changes, I've grown tired of the common styles from big brands like Carter's. At The Moppet Shoppe (great name, by the way) you'll find some Carter's-type stuff, but also some much smaller boutique lines that until now seemed to only be seen on stylish kids in commercials. The only negative was when I started paying attention to some of the price tags. Some of these outfits cost quite the pretty penny. That's not to say I wouldn't buy something really special here, but it's hard to justify $45 for a onesie my baby will probably outgrow, or soil beyond recognition, in a few months. read more

Holy Cow, this place is just the absolute cutest on earth. It has such a variety of children's clothes, books, accessories, stuffed animals, and more. The owner was so helpful, and the most pleasant to deal with. Original items, beautifully kept, and so much fun to look around if you're shopping for a baby shower, or a kiddo's birthday, or just if you're a mom (I'm not). I finally checked out this place after walking by for years. This ship has a lot of gifty items for small children. Lots of specialty items that are rather high priced, like $18 toddler trucker hats, socks, Melissa and Doug toys, etc. Basically things you would buy someone else for their kids, but not of you had your own. I love The Moppet Shoppe... I used to frequent the store quite often when they were located in Elk Grove. My son 's barber was in the same strip mall. My daughter and I would make a beeline for the store while we waited for him to get a haircut. The customer service here is top-notch. The owner will offer assistance without hovering and you don't feel pressured to purchase anything. They have fun accessories and clothing and good quality shoes. I bought a lot of items from this store when my baby was first born. There's an asian lady who works there that's super nice. But after spending hundreds of dollars there, one time I had to return a few things because someone had gifted me a few similar pieces. The returns were not worn, not washed, folded neatly with their tags, had original receipt, and in the original bag. The person working that day (not the asian lady) gave me a lecture about how I should not buy anything if I'm going to return them because she gets charged a fee by the credit card company and when I return items she loses money. I never shopped there again. Not sure if she's the owner but she lost a frequent customer that day. Every time I went there I spent over $100 and I was there at least once a month since baby grows really fast. I was trying to shop local and I did like their selection. I didn't mind paying more (their stuff is pricey) but I only want to support people who are nice to their customers. read more

Wow! This little shop is packed so many surprises. KicKee is my favorite baby brand and their selection is fantastic! They even have matching baby blankets. My other "go to" gift for friends that I want to grab just a little something for are the WubbaNub pacifiers and there are always quite a few to choose from. Most important is the customer service. I absolutely love this place! Carol (the owner) is as sweet as can be and clearly loves her job! She is always so incredibly helpful when I come in to the shop. I always come here when my friends have babies to get newborn gifts. When I brought my 2 year old in, she was of course touching and grabbing everything, and Carol just laughed and entertained her so that I could shop! The shoe selection is really good and are the same prices or even better as online (saltwater sandals too) so I would much prefer to buy from here and support a local shop than a big online vendor.
