He kept me informed throughout the entire process, was polite and efficient. My move took less time than anticipated because those men hussled and I was glad to have saved money. They are more expensive than some of the other local companies but qell worth every penny. Our furniture was well secured, they disassembled and reassembled our beds and other items and overall did a great job. I highly recommend them.

I even called office to make sure that was their policy. The other company told us all could be left in drawers (including 4 file cabinets). The other movers price was not a lot more. This doubled the amount of work we had to do. Packing every drawer, then finding boxes and unpacking. 2 of the movers were great (except they left my mirror hanging on bedroom wall in old house). The other 2 didn't seem to know much. I'm pretty sure one who looked so young had never done a move since he didn't even know how to take plastic off furniture.

Two men and a truck claimed they fixed my damage items but that it not true. They only fixed items…read morethat were damaged that we physically saw them drop. The images show it all that they clearly neglected my items when THEY stored them. I would not know what damage was caused from how THEY stored my things until we moved items out section by section. Which is why I took pictures of items before they were moved so it would be clear who was responsible for the damage. Their response was I should have notified them 96 hour after the move. I guess they thought we should have move out all of our belongings with them within 96 hours of them moving us to show that they damaged the items to only have them move us back into the unit until we were ready to move....that clearly makes sense.

Were they careful with our items? Yes. But...then, we had a few hiccups, of which the last was the one that would make me not recommend their services to others. Things that went wrong: 1.They arrived late. We did receive phone calls updating us, but still was frustrating as we expected to be done moving by the evening. 2. They showed up with 3 movers and we were apparently quoted for 2 movers. At no point was it asked if it was ok, or anything, and it wasn't mentioned until we were discussing payment, and Carlos told us that the discount from Angie's List included only 2 movers. 3. Carlos and his team didn't have the supplies to wrap furniture and didn't have enough moving blankets. In fact, as they unloaded the truck, I noticed that they used some of our throw blankets to protect the furniture without asking if that was ok. 4. Their truck wasn't big enough to fit all of our items in one trip. We were moving from a smaller house about 750 sq ft. We were asked over the phone how big our house was and approximately how many boxes we had. Carlos and his team made one trip with a full truck. Then we filled our cars and still had to go back the next day for the rest of our stuff. He offered that they would go make another trip for the rest of the items for the additional hourly charge. 5. Payment - this was the one that killed it for us. As others have mentioned, we were quoted an affordable price over the phone. We had a discount through Angie's List. The woman on the phone told us that we would be able to use that discount and quoted us accordingly. When all was said and done and it was time to pay, Carlos told us it was going to be $400 over what was quoted to us. We talked to him about it and he was not budging on what was quoted over the phone vs what he was charging us. We tried to negotiate since they were late and ran out of supplies at their previous job and since we had to load our cars with items and still go back for the rest. He would not compromise, and actually was upset that we were even questioning the issue. I have no problem paying for good service. I have no problem tipping for good service (I still tipped his team even though Carlos screwed us on pricing). I do have a problem with being quoted one amount and then being told to pay a DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT amount. He even had the audacity to ask us not to write a poor review. He clearly knows that what he is doing is wrong. Yes, he and his team work hard, but he should be upfront about the cost. It is not ok to quote one price and have such a large difference between your quote and actual cost. Customer service goes a long way, but he and his company certainly lacked in that area.

I did some research and although they are not the cheapest in the area, they are also not the most expensive. Pros: -Tazon (Tazin?) was our team leader today, and he and his moving partner were great. My walls at my old place and the walls at the new place all still look good. They were very efficient, the entire move only took about 2 hours. -White Star is very easy to contact via email or phone, I used both to communicate with them. Cons: -I was told that I could put my preference for an 11:00 a.m. move. On Friday, I was told I had been assigned the 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. slot. I had my mom call to see if we could secure 9:00 a.m. instead, and they agreed... Unfortunately today the moving crew showed up at 8:00 a.m. However, White Star agreed not to charge me for the 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. hour. -Something I didn't know is that the minimum you can reserve is three hours, they call it a 3-hour mini move. So even though the job only took two hours, I was billed for three. I was fine with that because that was the amount I had been quoted, but no one had mentioned it was a "mini move," so I thought that was careless on their part. Tazon/Tazin said that this happens a lot and sometimes he gets pushed back from customers about it, I definitely understood it was not their fault but corporate needs to communicate that with clients such as myself beforehand. -They do take credit cards but there is a 3% fee, so I opted to pay with a check instead. However, because the movers themselves were so great, this is still a four-star review from me instead of a three-star, and I would use White Star again.

That being said - I don't want others to fall into the trap I did. My experience was similar to the many other voices here on yelp. I was provided with an "estimated hours time" to complete my move . . . everything in the house was packed and ready to load. Three men showed up late. One young guy was on his phone every time I walked outside to check progress on loading. A completely rude man kept asking to use my bathroom and then informed me I was out of toilet paper and did I have more. Needless to say I had a clogged toilet. They took more than twice the anticipated time to load the truck and behaved outrageously when I said I didn't have enough cash to pay them (since I planned for half the time). The man wanted to stay (alone) in my empty house while I went to the bank to get money. What kind of legitimate business demands payment in cash?! But the real reason I am writing this review is because most of what I loaded into the truck went into storage for a year. I just moved again and was able to unpack my things......crushed storage boxes, soo many broken items I can't even count, damaged furniture AND my very expensive commercial sized treadmill is broken. The day of the move I watched the bathroom idiot try to pick up the console by himself and as I was beginning to say, "don't....." - he dropped it upside down on my concrete drive. I was hopeful that since it was wrapped in foam and moving blankets it would be safe - but I should have known better. When I called the owner he started swearing at me and insisting everything was my fault and his men told him I was "difficult". Don't trust this man/company with your possessions! The clowns he hires to do the moving are unprofessional, rude, lazy and don't give a poo about how they treat your items.
