I was looking for someone to make some custom down pipes for my Audi RS4 and am very, very glad I found Josh. I am very picky with my car and actually try to do most of the work myself, but after reading these reviews and finding good recommendations about Josh on some other car forums, I decided to check him out. I could tell from the first moment we spoke about my car he knew his craft and what he was talking about. Josh had no problem with me watching while he worked and he explained everything to me as he went along (answering all my nosy questions without a hint of annoyance). After he quoted me a very reasonable rate and started work, he thought of a couple other custom options to try, which could a while and required a lot of custom fabrication. It was already past 5 o'clock on Friday but Josh had no problem finishing up the work and taking his time. And then after all that extra work, he still only charged me what he had quoted me earlier, although he did significantly more work than he had quoted me for. The TIG welds are beautiful and his lift easily accommodated my lowered car. He is a real stand up guy and I couldn't recommend his shop more. read more

Easy experience. I had them put a muffler delete on my 17' sti. He's very straight up with you about how much it'll cost. I went there to get a crack on my muffler welded together so this might not be a great review of the work they do but from the moment I got there their service was excellent, I was greeted immediately after getting there and was addressed in a matter of minutes. Great, fast, affordable service. Called around to a few shops because my exhaust pipe had a hole in it, got prices of a little over $100 to replace the whole thing. This shop had the same price for replacement, but unlike the other shops they said it might be possible to just replace the damaged section of pipe. They cut off the damaged section, shaped a replacement, and welded it in. Total cost: $40, total time: 30 minutes. read more

I was told I needed to have the gasket on my muffler replaced so I called The Muffler Man this morning to get an estimate. He quoted me $25 but thought he might need to order the part and asked me to bring it in. When I went in Josh was VERY polite and friendly and informed me that I jut needed to have the muffler re-welded, not replace a gasket. He re-welded it and I was out in 30 minutes. The best part? Josh and Jake and the crew at The Muffler Man are great! WARNING: This place is not a sterile corporate chain with upcharged prices, so if that's what you want for your car stop reading. What The Muffler Man is though is a good old-fashioned family run business owned by nice folks who work hard and are honest with you. After getting a high quote from a cheesy corporate chain place and then reading all the Yelp reviews here, I stopped in to see about replacing the cats on my pride and joy Ford Bronco. I spoke with Josh and he was honest about the time it would take and the price, and we set up an appointment for several days later. This place does brisk business, so you can't waltz in and expect to get your car worked on immediately, unlike the 1 star lady reviewer here. Schedule it a few days in advance, like any reasonable shop, and they'll be ready for you. I showed up for my appointment with a few magazines, Josh and Jake were ready for my Bronco, and I plopped down on a big sofa in the office for two hours and watched Jake do his thing on my Bronco. Josh's wife runs the front desk and is a nice young lady, and we chatted off and on for two hours while the work got done out in the shop. I drove away with two name brand catalytic converters and quality welds for the exact estimate he quoted me a week earlier, and for a few hundred dollars less than the corporate chain at the mall wanted for the same work. There's street construction and some detours in this neighborhood in '13 due to the Orange Freeway widening project, so you need to look on the map and know where you want to go. But it's not hard to find, even with the construction. Quality work at a very fair price done by an honest family run small business. Awesome! read more

I had a bolt on catback with some test pipes (previously installed at another shop 15 minutes, 40 bucks) that had been touching my heatshield when i would engine brake or make a left turn. Really nice people but i got charged 40 dollars to listen to them talk about dogs for 40minutes and to only MAYBE fix my problem in about 5 minutes with a pry bar. Jake (whom I think is the owner) is the man! I have the 2016 Toyota Tacoma, so there are not many aftermarket exhaust systems available for it right now. I yelped exhaust shops near my area, and The Muffler Man had the best reviews, so I went ahead and called. I spoke with Jake, and he told me that he could custom build a catback exhaust with a flowmaster delta 40 muffler for my truck. I decided to move forward with this shop. I arrived at Jake's shop thirty minutes prior to my appointment, but he went ahead and started early on my truck. He finished in less than an hour, and he did a stellar job. To top it off, he gave me an awesome deal. My tacoma sounds like a beast now, and the custom exhaust tip he installed looks so clean. Three years later and I came back to muffler man to have my Remus exhaust removed and stock exhaust reinstalled. Price is still great, competitive just like it was 3 years ago! I have been to many muffler shops in the past. I yelped for a muffler shop in the OC area because I am currently working in the OC area. After seeing their reviews and seeing how pleased people were, i gave them a call to ask a few questions. The guy that answered the phone was polite and generous. Not like some other shops who are too busy to speak to you on the phone and try to blow you off. I went the shop later in the afternoon to check it out. The guy helping me was beyond helpful and gave me a few suggestions for a particular look i was going for on a dual exhaust. I got a quote and was amazed at how fair the price was, I went ahead and had the guy customize the exhaust same day. He did an excellent job and will refer my friends to the muffler man. This guy is awesome. I brought in my 2015 Camaro ss for a muffler delete and to get my new exhaust tips installed. He worked quick and efficiently removing my mufflers, cutting my diffuser in the right shape and wielded my new exhaust tips on there in just little over an hour. All this cost me 200 dollars.
