Huge shout out to Anchor Muffler! They came through for me in a pinch! I just purchased a used car, but the muffler needed to be replaced. The used car dealership said they would make it right before I drove the car home. Well unfortunately the first place they took it to did not have the part. So they made arrangements with Anchor Muffler to repair / replace the exhaust and muffler. We got there towards the end of the day and they were able to complete the work same day! My girlfriends SUV developed an exhaust leak, so I took it to my favorite mechanic. He put it up on the lift, accessed the situation, and suggested taking the car it to Anchor Muffler. He said they were great trustworthy guys who have been in business forever, and were well suited for this repair. I thanked him and headed right over. They are located on the southeast corner of Anaheim Blvd and E North Street. The parking lot in front is small and was mostly occupied, but there were a few spots available when I arrived at their 8am opening time. I walked in and spoke to Junior at the front desk. I explained the situation and he said they would take a look at it right away. They pulled the car into the shop, and I could see the technician looking under the hood and under the chassis. Then I heard Junior on the phone getting parts prices from their supplier. In only about ten minutes after taking my keys, he confirmed my suspicion that the exhaust manifold was cracked. He gave me a quote to replace it which seemed very reasonable. He also mentioned they would have to check to see if the catalytic converter was plugged up because any back-pressure from that could cause the same problem again. If that was the case and it needed replacing, it would cost a lot more. I crossed my fingers and told them to go ahead and start working on it. Junior called me later that afternoon, and told me they were close to finishing the job and that we could head over. He said the catalytic converter had some cracks on it, but that it should probably be fine. When we arrived at the shop, he actually showed us the broken exhaust manifold that was replaced. He also showed us some pictures they took of the cracks in the catalytic converter. It is pretty rare for any shop to actually show you the broken parts that were replaced. I'm sure a lot of less reputable shops would have blindly told me the catalytic converter had cracks and needed to be replaced. I really appreciate their honesty and concern for potentially spiraling repair costs. Junior was very friendly and personable. They inspected the car immediately upon arrival, and gave an accurate estimate quickly. Communication was great, and thankfully no further repairs were needed beyond the original estimate. It is rare to go to an auto shop and they give you two estimates XX and XXXX and you only end up paying XX, and not getting pitched a bunch of other things they recommend. I was recommended this shop for my vehicle repair. I needed a Cadillac converter replaced and they had the part to meet code in stock. It was close to work in Anaheim and the shop it small on the right corner of the street. Ask for JR. He was the one in the shop. Service was reasonably quick. I dropped off around 10am and picked up by 1 pm. I think the welds could have been a bit better only because I know welds. But the work itself was done. If all stays in tacked then we are all good. AMAZING SERVICE!!! we started our car one day and it was loud!! We looked under the car & our muffler and catalytic converter tube detached. We went to import auto service and they reccommended Anchor Muffler. They got us in as soon as we got there!! They lifted our car, saw it & told us exactly what they'd do to fix it! We said yes & waited in their lobby for 15 minutes & it was done!!! It was so fast my jaw dropped! All for $60!!!!! I couldn't believe it!! After their work - my car starts so quietly! I had the unfortunate situation of having to get my catalytic converter replaced. I called around and most local muffler shops didn't have any. I was close to heading to a dealership to spend over $2k for the parts and labor. A friend recommended this place to me and I called right away. I got through to someone instantly and told them my predicament. So maybe taking feed back from a customer could help ur business just FYI. Never had to deal with any thing at this business other than wonderfulness. I recently had some work done and it turns out that the catalytic converter maybe had a factory defect or something without hesitation they warrantied it for me and it was a non-issue. That is amazing I've never had a conflict there of any kind. It's just one of those feel-good places. My mechanic recommended them to me for replacing my catalytic converters, as I just need to get few years more life on an older car and other quotes were just ridiculous. The lady gave me a quote and I brought my car in shortly thereafter.They followed through and billed me what they had said. My only note to Anchor Muffler would be to ask if they could put down a piece of protective paper on the driver's side floor as the mechanic's shoes completely made my carpet black, however, I was able to clean my carpets and get it back to normal. It's a small thing, but just a tip. I will make sure I put down cardboard or paper myself next time. At any rate, I'm very happy with their work and I'm happy I found them. read more

Called to get a quote to install a new muffler. I had the part and just needed the labor. I told the person over the phone exactly what I had and for my make and model. I was quoted $50. I show up and they tell me I was quoted wrong and it was actually going to be $70. I ended up paying for it since I was already there and it literally took the guy 15 minutes to install. Fast forward two months and I buy another car (same car as my previous one) and want to swap the muffler again. I show up at the shop with my muffler expecting to pay the same price. The guy at the counter tells me it'll be at least $120 and that I was quoted wrong before. Shady business practice. Be careful! read more

I called in early around 11AM before coming in and was told to drop by at 1. Initially, it was a friendly and welcoming vibe as we discussed prices and discussed the installation of the x-pipe. However, as I went in for an x-pipe to be installed on my car, it turned out the part didn't fit. I apologized as I didn't realize this (manufacturer defect) and requested to have my stock mid pipes put back on and I would just pay them for the labor. As the guys put back my stock exhaust back on, I drove away and immediately noticed bad vibrations underneath the drivers side and the noise echoed throughout the entire cabin. I took it back and told them they forgot to tighten the clamps and received death glares and smirks from the workers. The worker with the mustache in particular kept glaring at me and even slammed the boards (the ones you drive on to get onto the lift) on the floor and seemed extremely pissed off. As they inspected it, it turns out they didn't even tighten the clamp holding my exhaust together! Not cool guys; just do it right the first time or don't get mad when you have to fix something that you didn't do properly. read more

I read the one start negative review mentioning the brake calipers. However, all the other were very positive 5-star reviews. I felt welding a cracked muffler bracket repair would not be a problem. They raised the car was up and the repair was done quickly. I did not time it but it was 10 or 15 minutes at the most. I asked what I owed and the boss said: "Nothing at all." I replied said I'd like to pay at least something. Without hesitation, he pointed to the worker who did the repair!, saying I could pay him directly. So I paid him a tip for his time. On advice from some friends, I used as a guide an estimated $60 per hour for a mechanic's time. This was totally expected and pleasant experience, that is not being billed for a quick relatively small repair This section of Anaheim has a lot of nice shops with both English and Spanish signs. Don't be deterred by the presence of the Spanish signs because they communicate well in English too. read more
