I got regular polish. For my manicure I asked for gel. The lady was so distracted or something cuz she cut me doing my cuticles twice. Great place for a pedicure. I love their setup. It might be a tiny bit awkward getting into and out of your chair but it's worth it. They use stand alone bowls that can be sanitized. That's the only way I can do a pedicure. The ambiance is second to none. You can see how beautiful it is in the pics. I got the Old Market Pedi (top of the line). I hadn't had a pedicure in several years so I was hoping she could take off more dead skin, but she made my feet presentable and that's all I could really ask for. Unfortunately some other guests were there with their elderly mother getting a pedi for only the mother before a wedding weekend. I know all about the relatives traveling in and what time they are meeting for the rehearsal dinner, etc. That's not the fault of this business, but I really would have enjoyed not listening to them banter about relatives/travel/wedding details. Fortunately she had gotten an express pedi and was not there the entire time I was. The daughters did pick a perfect shade of pink for their mom who was very indecisive. I appreciate the polishes this place used are all vegan. My nails looked great. I'd go again in a heartbeat. Visiting town and this nail shop was a quick walk from my hotel. It was easy to make an appointment online and I was able to do a same day appointment as well. I chose the express pedicure because I didn't need a callus scrub but didn't read over the description very well because it also didn't include any kind of foot scrubbing, foot massage or lotion pre or post polish. It was a very quick service. It felt rushed but again I booked express ($40) and they stay true to the 35 min timing on that so it's perfect for those who just want an in and out. I wish I would have leveled up my service to better enjoy my overall experience. Next time. The decor and quietness of the shop were both amazing. It was unlike any other nail shop experience I'd ever had. I'm come back here for the peace and quiet alone. I like how the nail polish is vegan and free from harsh toxins. There are plenty of colors to choose from. They have a rewards program you can join but I'm not sure what it entails. I'd love to come back here and try a longer service. read more

The nail shop is a really great place to get your nails done AND relax! Once you step in to the shop, it is already relaxing. There is calming music and not too many seats for mani's or pedi's, so there's not many people, so it's pretty quiet. I've been here two times so far. I've done my nails twice and a pedi once. The quality of service is so good! My cuticles were done perfectly and the nail polish has lasted so many weeks! The only reason I needed to go back was because my nails grew! The pedicure was amazing, hot stones, candle wax body oil, the whole 9! A did my manicure and pedicure. They both look amazing and she was so gentle and great at what she does. My finger nails look so clean and she really did amazing. I've had my nails done in the past where the cuticle part is uneven or they miss a strip in the edge of the nail... not here! seriously they look amazing. Super relaxing ambiance. No TVs or loud radio. Calming music and gentle lighting. Pretty art and woodwork. Felt more like a spa day than a pedicure. Pro: was able to walk in on a Saturday afternoon. Cons: -employees are not friendly. -$22 just for them to remove nail polish and paint a new color (did not get a pedicure) I needed to get my nails done asap for an event or I would not have gone here. -when she finished / after I paid I noticed there was still red nail polish on my skin in multiple places and some of the nails she did not paint fully. It looked like I did it at home. -asked her if we could fix it. She got someone else to fix it, since she had a new customer. All the new girl did was cake on the polish and it still looked bad. With each stroke she got more polish on my skin and had to use nail polish remover each time. Did not seem skilled to me. -they have no UV light dry area or fans. You have to sit there and wait for them to air dry. She told me to sit for FORTY minutes. -She told me a color change usually takes 15 minutes. For me it was 30+ Beware: this is not somewhere you can get in and out in a timely manner. I took off the polish when I got home and re-did it myself. This place seems like it'd be a good experience but it is not. I do not recommend for anyone. read more

I visited this nail salon a few weeks back August 8, early in the week mid afternoon. The location is beautiful and in the heart of old market area. I showed up, no appointment. I wanted a pedicure and I was helped immediately. It was embarrassing how bad my toes looked since I had gel on them previously and I took off as much as I could. My nails were soaked with acetone cotton balls to remove the gel. Then my feet were submerged in this metal warm bowl with water! The water was comfortable and relaxing. I opted for their organic lacquer in a deep rose. I recommend this business and I can't wait for my next pedi! read more

I've seen great reviews for the nail shop and on a whim called to make an appointment. They were able to accommodate me and a friend 30 mins after opening on a Thursday. Upon finding the shop, I was surprised at the location! I have eaten at Matsu before and never noticed them being right next door. We were greeted promptly, and given water and a relaxing station. The aura here is more spa than acetone smelling nail shop, and I certainly enjoyed a departure from the acrylic dust and nail polish remover scent. The technician was so polite and cute and did a great job with my gel/shellac mani. At the end they do a little oil hand and arm massage which was awesome. I recommend using the park Omaha app to pay the meters- we were in and out within an hour. Overall, they are definitely worth the extra money, as they run about $10-15 more for a shellac mani than some of the cheaper places in town. One thing to note is that they only work on natural nails- no acryllic or gel manicures here (hence no smells). If you can hack it, I highly recommend them. Loved it! read more

While the atmosphere and the staff are more than welcoming and professional, I would not recommend this nail salon. Be aware that this salon only has one brand of polish and it is a more natural polish that does not perform like OPI or Essie. There are also VERY limited color options. The polish is straight up ugly and I would've walked out but I needed my nails done for an event the next day and didn't have time to go elsewhere. I had my nails done here Tuesday the 12th and by the next day the polish was already chipping. By today, the 15th, my nails look like absolute garbage and The nails themselves are all scraggly! This is unacceptable for 3 days post Mani. I get my nails done about once every week or so at my local salon and never have my nails looked this bad so soon after a Mani! I did not think the work or the polish was high quality. My nails looked subpar immediately after the service and uneven. As someone who gets her nails done about once a week, I was highly dissatisfied. Not to mention this salon cost about $10.00 more for a Mani than most salons. I travel for work in Omaha often, and I will not be coming back. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Aveda or anywhere else but here!!! read more

Stayed in Omaha on a layover and really needed my nails done for a wedding that I was leaving to as soon as I was finished with my work trip. I wanted to do dipping powder but they don't do that here only gel which I agreed to as I used to get gel manicures in the past. I won't lie the manicurist was lovely and she did a good job with the manicure but in all the yrs of getting my nails done this was the absolute WORST gel job I ever had done! I got back to my hotel and about an hour later got in the shower the sides of the nails began to bubble and peel I had to jump out the shower and squeeze them down to smooth it out. An hr later the tip of my thumb nail lifted up n peeled off. Less than 24 hrs to me getting it done the sides of my nails peeled off. I have no way to get my nails redone before leaving to Mexico for this wedding and I am stuck with nails that look a hot mess. Truly disappointed and furious I wasted money!!! read more

I decided to give The Nail Shop a try with a friend of mine this past weekend. We're weren't familiar with Omaha since we're both active military, so we looked up nail salons and decided to give this place a go because of the amazing reviews. We walked in around noon. Once we entered and approached the receptionist, she was very tight-lipped and rude. I requested a fill, to which she rudely replied, "We don't do fills here, you'd have to take them off." I still wanted to give this place a try, so I requested an acrylic removal and gel manicure; my friend requested a gel pedicure. The receptionist proceeded to tell us that'd the next available appointment would be at 2:30 p.m. that same day. She took down my name and my phone number and said, "I'll give you a call to come in, once our technician arrives." With that, we left to explore Omaha. My friend and I kept ourselves occupied and managed to lose track of time as we explored the city. When we checked the time it was 3:00 p.m.! We never received even ONE phone call from the receptionist at The Nail Shop as a reminder or even to notify us that we were late/missed our appointment! We really needed to get our nails done, so we had to find another place in Omaha. EXTREMELY disappointed. I didn't expect this service, especially from a place with so many great reviews. Definitely will not be returning and not recommending to any friends/family. read more

This is the best pedicure I have ever had. The atmostphere is spa like - the massage was outstanding, the attention to detail is superb. This is not your typical in-and-out rushed nail experience. This is a place where you go to relax, enjoy, and receive phenomenal service. Yes, it's slightly more expensive than other run-of-the-mill nail spots (by a very neglegable amount - like $3) and is well worth it. Go here - you won't regret it. I agree with others 1star comments. The youngest lady there has no experience with manicure at all. The polish nail is ugly, limited colors and the price is way too high for this poor service. I took 2h to get my nails done since the person couldn't figure out how to get an even coating. These photos are from the 3rd time they were doing it and another person had to make it. This was my first time here. I saw Yelp reviews and decided to try this place out. When I went to the front desk of my hotel to request a shuttle drop off, the receptionist told me I'd made a great choice. She also recommended a nail tech. I didn't request the technician upon arrival, but the young lady who did my nails was awesome. The price she quoted for shellac, however, is not what's listed on the price list at the front of the shop. It was cheaper though, so I'm not complaining. She charged me $22, and the price list said $42. I loved the artwork, loved the jazz playing, and her work was extraordinary. I'll be back whenever I'm here for work. read more

My mom and I had such a great experience at the Nail Shop while visiting Omaha today. We decided to treat ourselves after seeing many positive yelp reviews for this place. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and asked to pick nail polish for our pedicures. As it was not too busy (for a Friday afternoon), we were able to be seated right away. This is my first time experiencing a pedicure in a leather chair and it was really cool! My manicurist was extremely nice, offering us water and always checking on our comfort level. We chose the "Old Market" pedicures, and loved the hot lotion candle massage and callous scrub! My toes/feet felt rejuvenated afterward! A lovely, spa like atmosphere and kind staff that welcome you. This place is a bit different in that they do not have spa chairs but you still soak your feet in a hot basin of water and sit in a comfy leather chair. The color selection isn't huge but they have all the basics and I found a color I really liked. The express pedicure is the cheapest and you get a nice foot scrub with it. I might try the hot stone some time but not sure I need to splurge for that . The employees are attentive and detail oriented. I appreciate the hot stones and the comfy chairs on platforms. As much as I love those massage chairs and every other nail salon, these arm chairs are so much more aesthetically pleasing to sit in. As I sank into the chair, I felt like I was coming home to unwind for the day. In regards to the service itself, I have nothing to complain about. This salon is more "natural" based, so they don't do acrylic. I went with the the shellac options and the color selection was decent enough to give you choices, but not too much that you were overwhelmed. The Nail Shop gas become my favorite nail salon in Omaha! I don't have my nails done often and when I do find the time, I look forward to it to being a relaxing experience. That is exactly what you get at this gem in Old Market. The space is beautifully decorated and has a calming, zen like feel. There are a variety of services available from a basic mani or pedi to their deluxe Old Market mani or pedi which includes an exfoliating scrub and massage with warm candle lotion. While they don't do acrylic nails, they do gel manicures and pedicures and have a terrific selection of colors. Polishes are high quality and vegan and so far seem to be holding up better than other gel manicures I've had in the past. I highly recommend a visit and will definitely be returning! read more
