I had a poor experience at Pizza Napoli the other day when eating with my boyfriend. I'll give it two stars for the outdoor seating. Inside, however, gave me bad vibes, and was crammed. Our serve took forever to get back to us when we asked for a couple minutes. We ordered the pizza, which we thought would be good, hence "Pizza Napoli"....we got the Pollo BBQ Pizza, which basically tasted like frozen pizza...was far from good. read more

If you're looking for a great brick oven pizza and antipasto you will not be disappointed. The wait for a table on a Tuesday night was about 30 minutes. Service was great once we got a table. Opted to try the house sangria and was not disappointed.if I had to find criticisms it was the dirty plate and tight parking in front of the restaurant. We witnessed a hit and run on a vehicle while we ate dinner. Unfortunately no one could get the license plate of the car that pulled out. Pizza Napoli is one of the best around! Their pizza is delicious as are their chicken wings, sandwiches and salads. The servers are always very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant provides a nice, inviting atmosphere with a fireplace in the winter and outdoor seating for the warmer months. We went on a rainy and windy night which is not great when a big part of the seating is outside. After what we thought might be a big mess with seating turned out to be a great hostess who went above and beyond getting us seated despite rain and small indoor space. We split an "all-dressed" pizza and lasagna and both were amazingly delicious. All that was left was a slice for lunch tomorrow. Well worth the wait and it's reasonably priced. We didn't feel like going out to lunch, so we decided to get delivery from this place. The delivery man looked as if he doubled as the chef, but that is besides the point. I got a ham and chicken calzone which was very tasty and bug enough for 2, if not 3 meals! My aunt got a salad with chicken on it which was pretty tasty, but on her words, "how can you screw up a salad with roasted chicken on it?" Our only gripe is the parking lot------it really needs to be bigger and set up better; we ended up parking two buildings away after being "trapped" in the narrow parking lot by other cars who barely had room to turn around. read more

Sat outside on a beautiful night but the annoying music on the deck was so loud I could not carry on a conversation. I asked to see if it could be turned down a bit only to find out the the volume dial on the radio was 'broken' and the volume could not be fixed. Had a sangria and was disappointed as it tasted like pineapple juice with a splash of wine. Ordered a salad but never got it and the pizza was soggy. Went for lunch as we were out for a drive. Stopped as we were in the mood for pizza and this looked like the best option. It was between normal lunch and dinner times. We got the garlic bread which had chunks of garlic which was different then the normal garlic butter which left me indifferent on it. The pizza itself was thin crust and seemed to take awhile to come out. It was also a bit burnt when it did arrive. Maybe thin crust isn't my thing as it did fall apart when I folded it over and the topping kept falling off. The flavor wasn't the worst but average at best. This is perhaps the worst dining experience of my life, and unfortunately my kids witnessed much of it. We came to Ogunquit and stopped to eat before going to the cottage, myself and four hungry/thirsty kids just off the road. The food was marginal at best, the apps (mozz. sticks and chicken tenders) tasted like fish, and the marinara sauce to dip the sticks was cold. But.. whatever.. My son used the bathroom and came back to report that an employee had used the bathroom before him and not only didn't flush, but the sink was dry when my son walked in (i.e. the man had not washed his hands!) I quizzed my son how he knew it was an employee and my son described the man's outfit/uniform. I was pretty much ready to leave at that point, but we ate our pizza and asked for refills on the fountain sodas. The server then informed us there was A CHARGE!... for a refill of fountain soda!! I couldn't believe it. On top of everything else, now this. The kids got water, we got our leftovers and I asked for the check. The drinks are $2+ each, and for chocolate milk, $2.50 for milk and an additional .50 for chocolate. REally? So close to $12 for drinks and no refills. I asked to speak to a manager, just to let them know I didn't think this was fair, that perhaps I should pay half or something for the drinks, or at least to let them know they should let people know before they order fountain drinks (there is nothing on the menu). She was less than receptive. I let it go. But instead of just swiping my card, she apparently sent out the head manager. This is where it went from bad to downright awful. This man absolutely belittled me! He was loud and basically made fun of me for "trying to get something and not pay for it" in front of the other table (which I' already told about the drink thing). The manager then turned to them and told them THEY could have free refills, but not "people like her" (meaning me). I couldn't believe this! I told him I would just note his policy on Yelp. He said people who write on Yelp are morons and people who read Yelp are morons. So ... readers... you are all MORONS. This man is absolutely obnoxious. My kids were down the steps and heard this guy ranting and basically threatening to throw me out (over suggesting that I should pay less than full price for drinks that we did not even get refills on). They were very upset by him. I paid and left. That's when my son told me, "Mom, that was the guy... the guy who didn't wash his hands or flush after using the bathroom." YUP, the manager! I wouldn't eat here unless you like overpaying for a bad meal, and being called a moron by an obnoxious blowhard who never learned proper bathroom hygiene or foodhandling practices. read more

It gets two stars because the rest of my party had good meals. I'll also preface this review by saying we were trying to go to its sister restaurant (Angelina's) next door but it was so busy they were turning people away. So this place was slammed with the over flow so I'm not holding the long wait time and sparse service against them. That being said I ordered a small buffalo chicken pizza. By far the worst pizza I've eaten in my 45 years. No buffalo seasoning at all on the chicken and blue cheese dressing drizzled on top. At my party's request I didn't complain but I just can't let it go. I ate one piece and left the rest. Horrible pie. Don't know about other combos but the buffalo chicken sucks badly. read more

Worst service and pizza ever! To start off, parking is tight and very minimal. We were seated quickly, but it was all downhill from there. We waited 40 minutes for our pizza , and when we began to question, were told "the pizza takes much longer than the pasta" , "we need more pizza ovens" and "you need to come when it's not as busy." NO, Pizza Napoli, YOU need to figure out how to accommodate normal summer crowds. When the pizza finally came, the crust was burned, tough,and tasteless. The Caprese pizza, which was supposed to have fresh mozzarella (verified by two staff people we mentioned it to, ), was covered in a tough, rubbery cheese and had no flavor. Hands down the worst and most bland Italian food I've ever had. To boot, severely overpriced. Moreover, I had meatballs that were the size of fists delivered to me hard and cold in the center amongst the other barely edible dishes and when I complained I not only didn't get ...a care - never mind an apology, I got yelled at basically verbally badgered by the manager who was not only the rudest I've ever encountered but clearly had extra disdain for me due to my being a woman. DINER BEWARE! FAMILIES stay clear...go someplace else. By the way for an Italian restaurant don't expect any chicken parmigiana, or cream sauce/Alfredo of any kind. To clarify, I have never in my life asked for a gift certificate from a restaurant. I was explaining that the party I was with, and I, were talking about what might be in the envelope that was delivered by the delivery person and guessing it was a gift certificate because some of us have, in the past, experienced a restaurant including a gift certificate as their way of saying "hey sorry for the mix up please accept this token". Please know that we were not wanting a gift certificate from Pizza Napoli. I'm sorry you interpreted it that way but your perception of the situation is way off. There was no agenda on my part or the part of anyone else in my party that evening. We wanted a quick bite to eat before a show, nothing more and nothing less. To say I was trying to "blackmail" you for something that I assure you, I did not want, is absurd. We did not want a "gift certificate" from Pizza Napoli. I do not need to be told by you how to behave in the future when visiting restaurants. Perhaps you would consider taking some of your own advice and reflect a bit on your behavior. I believe that when an opportunity for improvement presents itself it truly is a gift that one should humbly and graciously accept. You have confirmed what we heard, your reputation preceded you . we should have picked up a frozen digorno pizza for a few bucks...the positive yelp posts we read did not reflect the reality of one of the worst pizzas we have ever been over charged for. we did take out and although it smelled good on the ride home, we didn't have enough spices to make the flavor worth the price - the restaurant looked nice both inside and out and we were thinking we might go back sometime to eat there . . . nope. read more

Family of 12 made a reservation for a Friday night. Waited well over an hour for our dinner. Waitress, Donna was rude, and gave us an insincere apology when we called her over to ask about our order. No freebies were offered for the poor service, and management did not come over to sincerely apologize. The pizza was not worth the wait, and my sister's bolognese had a small bone in it!! Since our party was so big, we automatically had to pay the 18% gratuity. Though it may not have been our waitress' fault, a better restaurant would have offered us free apps or desserts, or at the very least had the boss come over to sincerely apologize. Pizza Napoli is an insult to pizza and the people of Naples. Ordered a large half pepperoni, half sausage pizza. The crust was underdone, the sauce was watery and tasteless. I really want to like this place. I love thin crust pizza. The crust here is thin but it is more like a flat-bread, The toppings are first rate and the sauce tastes fresh and bright. The positive comments stop there. The service over 5 visits here has been at the bottom of the barrel. The owner once made the excuse that there weren't enough people on. (to cover 4 tables) I've sat at the bar unattended while the bartender also waited on all the inside tables. I was delivered the wrong pizza and a salad with the wrong dressing. I've waited for an hour for a pizza with only three other tables full. A large pizza a salad and a couple of drinks and a couple of beers will easily set you back $70 here and never a comp or a coupon for long waits or the wrong order. You will get charged to refill your soda though. This restaurant is managed poorly and it has showed clearly on all of my visits. read more

For the price, the food and drinks were excellent. I also liked the set-up of the restaurant and the outdoor patio. However, we ordered an appetizer and were specifically asked if we would like our appetizer before our food, to which we said yes, but our meal was brought out with our appetizer. This is something that really bothers me at restaurants. We also tried to order a pizza that was half cheese, half BBQ chicken, which apparently is not something that can be done. We started our night by sitting in the restaurant but it was way too cold so we asked if we could move outside which was much better. We ordered a Caesar salad, mozzarella sticks and a meatball pizza. The salad and mozzarella sticks were fine. When the pizza came out the edges were black as well as the bottom of the pizza. We tried it and it was overly crunchy and what was strange was it was burnt but the sauce, cheese and meatballs were soggy and slid off the crust. We had to get our waitress to let her know we were unhappy with the burnt pizza. The hostess came over and when we told her, she said she would have to call the owner to see what he wanted to do.....we wanted the pizza off our bill due to time we were already in the restaurant and had plans to be somewhere soon. While we were waiting for the hostess to come back the customers at the next table commented on our pizza and told their waitress to make sure there's was not like ours. OVERCOOKED! We also checked out the other pizzas around us that all of them had a brown crust not black. The hostess came back and said the owner said the pizza gets crispy in a 825 degree oven....we know the difference between crispy and burnt. The pizza was taken off the bill but not the waitress or hostess apologized for the pizza or asked if we wanted anything else. For me to write this review means the situation was really bad from the burnt pizza to the bad service. I don't write reviews but this needed one. read more

My husband and I came for a quick pizza and drinks.... We got our drinks fairly quickly but the pizza took over an hour. We complained to the waitress and the manager and all we got was that the kitchen was busy with a huge take out order and got backed up... We almost walked out but we were hungry... Finally got the pizza, it was good but we would not come back..... We were never offered anything for the unacceptable wait; a drink or dessert on the house would have been nice. I think management should get a clue and customers in the restaurant should take precedent over takeout orders. read more

Great restaurant with a very friendly, helpful staff. We stopped in during a busy afternoon with a party of 8 and they quickly accommodated us. Great menu and fully stocked bar. Everyone loved their meals, and the pizza was delicious! read more
