blueberry maine pizza and apple pecan salad
Janice K.

Amazing service and food! We ordered the blueberry pizza, mortadella sandwich, and a salad. Tables were clean and there were plenty to choose from. The food came out quickly and tasted great! Pizza had a hot and crisp crust, great combo of flavors for the topping, and was a generous size. Sandwich was nice and warm, with crisp but soft on the inside bread, good pistachio cream. Really enjoyed the food, service was amazing and attentive, and enjoyed our whole experience there!

1 Blueberry "slice" and 1 pepperoni slice

My first time there- staff was great and made it comfortable even though I was new and wasn't quite sure how to order or what to order. I ended up getting their blueberry pizza- my boyfriend got a regular pepperoni. I'm pretty sure we both just got a "slice" which was a half of a pizza. It was the ones they had setting out. But they were not giving "I've sat out all day" they were both so fresh and delicious. The crust was unlike anything I've ever had for a pizza and I loved it! Blueberries on a pizza? A little Sus! But omg it was amazing. Nothing bad to say. 10/10. Okay done 9.9/10 only because the prices ARE a little steep. But that is no reason to not come here. Portion size is great, taste is great, customer service is great. I can't wait to go back

This is where we are the pizza. The restaurant is on the right.

Bit of old country charm. Pizza was delicious. There was a nice place to sit outside and eat it. The servers were very pleasant and fun to talk with.

Soprano Pizza

We are a west coast couple. We were traveling to New England for our nephew's wedding and decided to do a few extra days of sightseeing in the area. We did some research and decided to stay our first night in Kennebunk, Maine to explore the area. After a full day of airline travel, we checked into our cottage and were getting hangry for some dinner. We decided to find some comfort food and what's better than pizza. Looking through multiple reviews, we found Pinsa on Port Road. Upon arrival, we located an eclectic looking old yellow house that has been converted into a restaurant. We parked in their rear lot and found our way inside. It was a bit late, but we were immediately greeted by a sweet young lady server and an equally nice gentleman, who we discovered was the owner. They were both so nice and explained our options. We ordered a Caesar salad to share and the rectangular Soprano pizza, which included bacon, meatball, sausage, red onion, sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The salad and the dressing were good, the pizza was absolutely fantastic! The service was great as well. Nothing disappointed! If you are looking for a great pizza and experience in Kennebunk, Maine...give Pinsa a try. You won't regret it!

This tiny takeout pizzeria was in close walking distance to our lodging so decided to get takeout on our first night in town, a Friday. Most of the patrons seemed to be locals who called their orders in, but there still were a few, like us, that ordered at the counter. It took time because they were quite busy. There are not inside tables, but there are a few outside. Pinsa as we discovered is not just the name of the restaurant, but a style of hand-pressed pizza dough that has been part of Roman artisan baking and cooking for over 100 years. The crust was light, the toppings delicious and it now ranks as one of our favorite styles of pizza.

Amazing pizza and wonderful service!! Owners are super friendly and delightful. Pizza is authentic just like Italy. Visited twice in 1 day!!

Batson River is the latter, and we loved our lunch outing in one of the adorable seasonal outdoor ice fishing sheds. We chose a few "handhelds," including the blackened haddock tacos and fried haddock sandwich, both of which are served with a red cabbage slaw. I enjoyed the tacos - the ratio of fish to slaw and aioli, etc. was just right. And the sandwiches are served with a generous amount of crispy French fries. On a weekday in March, many of the local shops and restaurants were closed. It was an unseasonably warm day, and we were happy to stumble upon Batson River for a fun and memorable lunch!

We had lunch here on Sunday, just after seeing Santa on the boat from the bridge down the street. Highly suggest putting your name in before you want to eat (it was about an hour wait when I put our name in at 11:45). Their reservation system sends you a text when they put your name on the list, and from the link they send you, you can also check your position on the list. They text you when your table is ready. When we arrived with our dog to check in, we were given a couple of seating options in the outside heated deck area. We chose seats looking outside, which were topped with fur warmers, which made them comfortable to sit on. There are plenty of heaters on, which made it nice and cozy. Also, the plethora of Christmas decorations inside and out, made it also feel cozy, and festive. For lunch, I had the blackened fish tacos, which comes with mango pico, red cabbage slaw, chipotle aioli, cotija, on corn tortillas. They were super flavorful, and delicious. I stuck with fries, and they even had sour cream for dipping them. We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!

"Take me to the pilot, lead me through the chamber Take me…read moreto the pilot, I am but a stranger" (Elton John) Our convention committee was in town celebrating last summer's successful event after years of planning. Five of us headed for lovely Kennebunkport, but where should we meet for lunch? Choosing a lunch spot could've taken all afternoon, but a trusted local steered us toward the Pilot House. So that's where we met up -- and it ended up being a terrific lunch. It has a scenic location in a harbor on the Kennebunk River, where the whole waterfront is dotted with boats. The big dining room is equally pretty with colorful nautical flags covering the ceiling and maritime décor everywhere. Pilot House was packed, I mean pretty much every table and every barstool, but after a short wait a table opened up for us. Our server, Carley was great- with a super nice attitude and quick water glass delivery. Pilot House's menu has plenty of seafood options among its appetizers, soups, salads, baskets, sandwiches, and entrees. I went with their Fish Tacos ($19) - "Golden fried haddock, red cabbage slaw, queso fresco & house made candied jalapeño aioli. Served on flour tortillas". I asked Carley if I could get the fish grilled instead of fried, and that was no problem. I loved the tacos; the fish was plentiful, flaky and tender and that jalapeño aioli was excellent. One of the other meals at our table included an interesting one. Ever hear of a Haddock Reuben? It was $21.00 for a marble rye sandwich with fried haddock, coleslaw, 1000 Island & Swiss cheese. Not a morsel was left behind. Two of us went with a Fried Baby Shrimp Basket ($24), a huge feast of golden fried baby shrimp, French fries, coleslaw & cocktail sauce. We were seated in the far-right side of the dining room by a bank of windows, and I noticed what looked like a huge yacht connected to the restaurant by a walkway. Turns out there is a restaurant bar up there. I so wanted to scoot up there for a few photos, but it wasn't open for the season yet. Oh well, maybe next time. Just another reason to visit the Pilot Hose because the food and dining experience were top-notch.

The Pilot house to me is very similar to several other restaurants down here in the dock square…read morearea, both in menu and in reliability. They have all your standard seafare bar food, as well as some other options. I love the variety in vibes depending on where you sit. The restaurant has 3 floors, with the upstairs feeling more upscale in vibe and the downstairs more family oriented. In the warm months, they also have seating on the big boat outside, which is super fun. I always bring out of owners here just for this boat vibe alone. The drinks definitely taste like they are made using premade mixes, and purées, so their price tag feels very high for what you get. The food is definitely average, with some items better than others. The clam chowder is THICK but it has exceptional flavor. The fried pickles are solid. All in all, I would highly suggest coming in the summer to grab a beer or drink on the boat while sharing some apps with friends, but skip it if you are looking for a high quality meal that will leave you wanting to return for dinner.

The online presence and menu for Casa Seventy Seven has always been a bit underwhelming from a web-visitor point of view which kept us away. Well we finally made our way down and I'm glad we did! On a whim we thought we'd try the big sister upstairs, Ultramar, however you really do need a reservation. No worries, they said, check out downstairs. It's funny how when you're hungry and sitting, the menu looks a lot more agreeable! We both got clam chowders to start and they're definitely not your traditional New England Clam Chowder. They had a lighter, less cream based broth and it was really full of clams, potatoes, a bit of corn maybe, something crunchy. Also it came out hot. Like hot-hot. It was legit good. Like 9/10. We also sampled the Hamburger and the Caesar Salad. Both were great! Tones of flavor. Not too heavy. Caesar salad had some yummy fresh anchovies. I will say that the salad did look a bit tossed together and it could have been a prepared with a bit more care but the flavor was still great. I'd definitely come back to enjoy some sunshine and fried seafood on the cute patio, watching the professional fisherman do their thing.

It even seemed it might be a stretch for the server in the Bar to be able to walk 25' to our NEW location. The Food was very tasty. The bottled water was chlorinated, so we bought a liter. The 2 liter Gigantic green water bottles were attempting to take the place of center pieces, but you can't lift them (4.4Lbs) safely. I worked in a few HIGH Level Restaurants as the maitre D'. I always catered to the customer's needs. AS for Bandaloop; With improved customer service that does not take a "guarded attitude", it would be a more gracious place. I was not attacking anyone. I mentioned that a 2 liter bottle cannot be picked up and poured with ease. "It's a new thing changed by the manager."--------- It was not well thought out. Try to pour a 2 liter bottle of wine or water with one hand. We also had to use another napkin as a placemat. What is on those tables? Bee's Wax? Use some Dawn soap.
