The valet parking was horrible. The line was out in the road. No where to park the cars. We were in the turning lane for 10 minutes. Cars were coming towards us head on. Griffin from valet was extremely rude. The valet runners were very young and inexperienced. There was nowhere to put the cars. It was extremely stressful. We finally got inside and had a 7 pm reservation and were given a buzzer and were finally seated at 7:20. The waitress wasn't friendly. We ordered an appetizer. Nobody ever cleared our appetizer plates and dinner came out. The food was absolutely delicious. If we didn't have the valet issue and had to wait I would have given it a 9 or 9.5 but due to all the issues gave it a 7.5. It was also very loud. You definitely couldn't have a conversation. Not sure we would go back. Disappointing! Spoke to the owner regarding the parking and he never followed up with us. Many people were beyond frustrated with the parking situation. read more

Came with my dad on a Saturday night and they were PACKED. Host station was efficient and we were seated within a few minutes. Service was friendly and attentive (multiple people offered us Parmesan and pepper). Food was just good, not great. For apps we got the mushrooms stuffed with crab meat (Dad said it was good but filling) and I had the bruschetta "classic" board which was 5 big pieces - an app to share for sure. Tasted good but it was like the Parmesan wasn't salted (maybe it was really Romano?!?) so it lacked something. For entrees Dad got the Scalapini Angelini with veal which he said was good. I got the homemade cacio e pepe which was just okay. The dish was unsalted (including the pasta which didn't seem to be cooked in salted water) but I asked for some salt and that helped a lot. Enjoyed our dinner last night at Angelina's and I'll give it 4 stars. Mallory our waitress was very nice. The food was good except they overcooked my steak. Started off with a meatball appetizer which was good but not great. They are giant size meatballs but for $18 they better be. My ceaser salad was good but not great. My wife's Alfredo with broccoli was good but not great and it was amazingly expensive at $32. My steak was over cooked. Every thing was just good not great. What was expected to be a beautiful Friday evening dinner turned out to be one of the most harrowing experiences I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. My lovely bride and I ordered the Gnocchi di Roma to start, and might I say they rename it to Gnocchi di Undercooked! Never felt a texture quite like it. We painfully endured the appetizer hoping it was a one off and moved on to the entrée. I ordered the Rollatini while the wife ordered the veal parm. While her entrée was surprisingly cooked correctly, my Rollatini was dry, bland and was a painfully small portion. Upon delivering my comments to the wait staff, I was greeted with dismissive and insinuating rebuttals that frankly shocked me. Not to mention, my catalytic converter was stolen during dinner! My previous review is included in the photos... My opinion has changed. 5 stars on food, service, and atmosphere. So why the rating with a one star review? We had a mix of families with two young children. With children we intentionally made our reservation for 4:30pm. Our waiter, who by his statements is one of the owners, was phenomenal (professional and kind); our backwaiter/server assistant was amazing and very kind and understanding to our children; however, the host, was incredibly rude. At the end of our meal my 2yo niece fell and hit her head. As any 2yo would do, she cried, loudly. Her father attempted to console her, but realized she was very upset and removed her from the restaurant. As he was exiting the restaurant the host/manager (David) made inappropriate comments regarding him needing to get her out immediately. When confronted regarding this, the host became argumentative and lied regarding the statements he made. He refused to take accountability for his actions or statements. I spent 20+ years in the tourism industry in a business that prided itself on excellent customer service. If any employee of mine spoke to customers like that in front of me, I would be livid. If you want a phenomenal meal, with a decent chance of horrendous customer service, then this is your place. I'm sure the restaurant will reply to this, as they seem to do frequently, and will offer some other variation of the truth. If you only want to cater to adults and couples only, then you might not want to operate a business in a family friendly tourism driven area. Reply to David: Not once during our meal did any staff approach our table regarding noise or complaints from other guests. We were in a side room with no other guests until the very end of our meal, when my niece fell. At this time there was one other family at one of the two tables. Additionally, the interaction between myself and the host occurred at the host stand, in a different area of the restaurant away from guests. As predicted, you have created a web of lies to support your host's inappropriate behavior. Your reply solidifies my experience, as well as many other reviewers' similar experiences with management. To the owners: David informed me he was just an employee, and not an owner. Time to write a new review for Angelina's. My wife and I have been back at least a half dozen times since our last review. Every time the meal has been excellent. In fact we went last night. My wife had the Rigatoni Bolognese and she raved about it. I had my favorite, pork chop parmigiana with pappardelle and puttanesca sauce. It did not disappoint. The sauce was one of the best, fresh and just the right taste. The portions are plentiful. We finished with carrot cake which also was great. Angelina's completely exceeded our expectations! We started with the incredible meatball appetizer; tender, flavorful, and generously portioned, and the fried mozzarella, which was crispy on the outside and perfectly melty inside. David's chopped salad was also a standout..fresh, vibrant, and large enough to feed all four of us. For our entrées, we had the homemade lobster ravioli, chicken pesto pasta, and cacio e pepe. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. It's clear everything is prepared with care and attention. And then there were the chocolate mudslide martinis... absolutely to die for! While vacationing in Maine in October we stayed next door to this Italian restaurant and it was walking distance so we gave it a try. Although the front hostess kept us waiting almost 15 minutes before opening and was gold and rude, the server and food were above average. Went with a large party of 10 I'd say 9/10 orders were fantastic. The 10th, however, was garbage -- inedibly tough veal on dry pasta. They didn't speak up, though, so... shame on them! Ambiance was great but with such a large party we practically turned a whole section into a private room. 3 stars because the valet and entire end to the meal was the most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed in a restaurant. Someone asks us how many cars we have between us. We don't think anything of it because the parking is a known nightmare. The lot is too small and it's always backing up onto the main road. We were in the middle of dessert but apparently the valet was closing so 4 guys bust in yelling and waving keys. Ok. Take the keys and tip (not sure why, because we will be collecting our own cars from... somewhere?) Why did they ask how many cars? Oh, because they added a per car valet charge to the bill without any notice. Again, not sure why, since the valet left (the restaurant wasnt closed, just the valets were leaving), and we'd have to find our own cars. Classy. Edit: Reduced from 3 stars to 1 star after being personally attacked and called a liar by the management. Like I said, classy! Apparently all the other reviews/comments about the valet are some sort of mass delusion we're experiencing. Good thing the management has the free time to set us straight, personally attacking any critical review, rather than actually provide friendly or productive service! Anyone reading this update is free to see management's other comments/arguments to draw their own conclusions. To clarify, the food was overwhelmingly delicious... I hate to say this, but Angelina's was recommended by so many people we know and we were quite disappointed. We started off sharing a Caesar salad which, for $14 was tiny and lacking dressing. I had the grilled salmon with risotto and spinach. Everything was so over seasoned with salt and pepper. I couldn't eat the spinach. The risotto was good, but again, the salmon was covered with large pieces of pepper. My husband had the house special and he said it was "pretty good" but the shrimp still had the shell tails on. For an expensive dish that was covered in a creamy sauce, you couldn't tell that the shrimp still had its shell on. We spent over $100 without drinks for a very disappointing meal. We won't go back. The service, however, was wonderful. read more

Dining at Angelina's is like stepping into an episode of a culinary reality show. This restaurant has been a go-to spot when visiting Ogunquit, despite the Manager/Owner's unpredictable demeanor (Definitely not Mr. Sunshine ). Our experience wasn't exactly "unpleasant", but definitely memorable. The veal chop was perfection, and the Rollantini Di Pollo was outstanding, although it wasn't actually "rolled." The parmesan risotto lacked flavor. It was as if the cheese had a fear of commitment and decided to ghost us halfway through the meal. My friend's shrimp scampi was practically swimming laps in butter. Last time, it was sautéed to perfection, but this year, it seemed the shrimp were in training for the Olympics. Service is another consideration, especially on vacation. We received a brusque "Do you have a reservation?" greeting. We did, for the bar, but were told there was a time limit on those seats. So, we opted for a table. We were seated in a corner with menus piled on to one plate. Water arrived quickly, which was nice, and soon after, the bartender approached and asked if we were ready to order drinks. I don't remember his name, but he's been there for years and is always friendly, accommodating, and attentive. All the bartenders, including one who looks barely old enough to be in a bar (he is, I asked ), make amazing drinks and are very friendly. I've only sat in the bar area, so I can't speak to the service for the rest of the restaurant, but the bar has never disappointed. The highlight of the evening was when the manager approached our table, opened a door clearly marked "Not An Exit," stared into the abyss for a moment, closed it, and walked away without a word. Maybe he was checking for a secret stash of parmesan missing from the risotto? I thought it was a bit rude until he showcased his vocal prowess by shouting to the bartender across the restaurant while we were trying to converse. Clearly, he flunked Manners 101. I'm guessing Nonna would not approve. In summary, the food was good but inconsistent, the drinks are amazing (extremely consistent), and the bartenders are professional, friendly, kind, and approachable. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, had a reservation and was told upon arrival they were "just setting our table" which is funny because after 30 minutes of waiting past our reservation time and finally got called in, we sat down to an empty table with no utensils. Food: the slab of provolone was as good as it sounds, and the sauce that was with the ravioli aragosta was wonderful. The chicken parm was nothing to write home about and the sauce that was with the pasta was spicy, which caused me to only eat one piece of the chicken before I called it quits. My friend enjoyed the scallop risotto which had a seafood stuffing that was really good. And the side of mac and cheese that came with my other friends was out of this world delicious and packed with flavor. I think food wise I would only come back for the Mac and cheese. Atmosphere: it was quite dim inside and also loud. They have a good amount of space inside. Service: The young man filling water and clearing plates, (I think his name was Travis) was super nice and attentive! And on the other side our waiter whose name I don't remember had a real piss poor attitude. Seemed bothered to have to take our order and deliver our food. Outstanding food. The menu has basic Italian like pasta, meatballs and sausage which are homemade and delicious. I've had the seafood selections and they are excellent also. Salmon puttanesca was the best and if they have it on the menu, I highly recommend it. It's busiest in the summer but we were just there in winter, right before Christmas by the Sea in Ogunquit. Service has always been top notch and our server Meaghan was prompt, friendly and helpful when it came to making suggestions. The inside has multiple rooms, none of them real large so it's not noisy, except if you're in the bar area. This is one of our destination stops when we're in Maine. I would suggest always making reservations since they're usually busy. The parking lot is small but they have valet parking which is a huge benefit. read more

Celebrating our wedding anniversary & went to Angelina's Italian restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine, yesterday. Food is excellent. I had Veal scaloppini, with fingerling potatoes & bean & carrots medley. Appetizer was calamari. Entree & appetizer Absolutely perfect in every respect. Waiter-Evan- great job-seated us in a small round intimate setting, while we observed him doing double duty as bartender & he pulled it all off. Nice seeing a pro at work. Definitely worth your time to experience this nice place. No one rushes you, and portion size means you can't eat it all. We're having the leftovers for dinner tonight. read more

My DH and I have been coming to York/Ogunquit area for about 50 years with my mother, then my own family and now my grandchildren. We arrived at this Ristorante with reservations 1/2 hour early for a 6:30 reservation so that we could check in and then go to the bar for a cocktail. First things first they charged us a $5 Valet fee upon arriving so that they can pack in cars like SARDINES. People were lined up about 2-3 deep waiting to be checked in at the entrance... this was not a good sign. I checked in and was told that they overbooked and our reservation would not be until 6:45. They also said we couldn't go to the bar as they were using it to serve as a dinner counter! We needed to use the cross walk and go to the restaurant across the 2 lane highway and have drinks with their remote and they would let us know when our table is ready. Ok... we'll go outside and just wait no cocktail just standing around with the rest of the sardines! Finally we were called in and seated right near the stairway kitty corner to 10... 30ish year old girls celebrating a birthday... doing shots raising their voices with f-ing language and just all around being very boisterous not caring that everyone else is trying to have dinner. Now mind you it's not the restaurants fault that the girls don't know how to act in a restaurant but if the owners didn't pack people in.. it wouldn't be so loud in the room. And mind you we were packed in cars and people! Refer to the above SARDINES comment! I had fettuccine alfredo and it was decent but ordinary. DH had Seafood Fra Diavolo and said the sauce was good. So my reasoning for the 2 stars I'm giving this review is because the food was good but the ambience was horrid! The noise level in the room was unacceptable. Won't come here again! read more

As a frequently returning customer to Angelina's, I was sadly disappointed by our visit last night. Chris, as always, greets you with his warm inviting smile! No reservation, but was sat immediately for two. My partner and I ordered drinks (dry martini with a twist and rocks on the side and a beer), but when the server brought the drinks to the table she spilled the martini on her serving tray and pretended it didn't happen. It seemed like it was almost a third of the drink, which for a $20 drink is a lot. The drink also had olives in it which was incorrect, but we didn't say anything. It was an oh well accidents happen no biggie. We ordered the fra diavlo mussels as an app and it was delicious! Spicy, flavorful, buttery mussels that had us licking the bowl clean. For the main dishes, I ordered chicken/eggplant parm and my partner ordered spaghetti noodles with red sauce. The server asked no meatballs, sausage, or meats? We replied no meat just noodles and sauce, we even joked that the mussels were really my partner's main dish saying she just loves the fresh pasta and red sauce. Main dishes were brought out and my partner noticed 2 massive meatballs on her pasta. We told the server that's not what she ordered to which she apologized and walked off. I thought it was no biggie oh well again. Dinner was delicious as always with leftovers. Server boxed up our leftovers which was the 2 giant meatballs and some pasta and my dish. Check comes and immediately see we were charged for the meatballs that we didn't order, but was given by mistake. I asked the server why were charged for it and the server apologized saying she would take it off the check. The server returns and states since we have the meatballs in a box to go we would be charged for them or she would have to take them and throw them away. That honestly shocked me. A. We didn't order them, was given them by mistake and she tried charging us for it. B. Saying if you don't pay for it, we're going to take them and throw it away. We weren't going to pay for things we didn't order or want, but it was more frustrating due to the server throwing away the meatballs which had some of my partner's pasta leftover(which we paid for) as well. To me that seemed very unprofessional and honestly not very classy for such an amazing place. We come to Angelina's many times through the year with friends and family, I just hope this isn't going to become the norm. read more

I hate giving bad reviews but I want to be truthful. As in reading other reviews this place came highly recommended but my wife and I couldn't have been more disappointed. The service by our waitress Sherri was excellent but that is where it ended. Food- we started with the eggplant tower for an appetizer. It was breaded and over deep fried, the breading was burnt and it tasted like you were eating pure grease. Main dishes- (me) Spaghetti alla Vongole (red clam sauce). The Spaghetti was not even edible. It was stuck together and like chalk. The sauce was bland and had no taste. (wife)- Chicken Parm with rigatoni pasta. They over cooked the chicken and the pasta did not have 1 drop of sauce on it, it was bone dry.... We also got a side of meatballs, I will give them a 3 out 5 and ironically they came with a full bowl of sauce. I hate writing reviews like this but it is the truth. read more

We didn't know what to expect as we had found this by looking for Italian restaurants on our journey on google maps and this one looked interesting. We are so happy we picked this place to stop. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic. I got the lasagna and my wife got the chicken Francese. Both were delicious. Veal dried out, and laid on top of the rubbery ziti. Obviously they precooked the pasta and reheated it. Very overpriced for what you got. Spouse had basic spaghetti and meatballs with sausage. One meatball that was very tough and sausage had decent taste. Sauce on both dishes very sparse. So overall not a very good meal and a piece of cake that was ice cold. read more
