Beautiful shellac manicure on a Sunday afternoon. Will see if the DND brand (made in USA) will withstand my test in the upcoming week or two. Very clean and they let you take home your file and buffer "kit" because they only use once; this was the first time I've ever been sent home with one and wonder why more places don't do this if they're just going to throw it away anyway. read more

Every time I've been here, it's been during my one-hour lunch break, and the nail technicians work quickly to get my nails done. Oftentimes, I'll just go here for an acrylic fix so timing isn't really an issue, but twice, they gave me a fill during my hour lunch break, then I came back at the end of my shift to get the color on. I've gone here many times but no longer after last visit. The work done looks great BUT they use the same dip powder for every person. When you go in, you aren't told to wash your hands. I didn't know about the dip powder process but went with it. When she was dipping my fingers into a jar of powder then letting the powder fall back in to same jar I was surprised. I thought I might be being a bit much but when I left I read about dip powder. First line in article says... If they are using same powder jar on everyone then RUN out of there. Very unsanitary. I should have gone with my gut feeling. read more

I dropped in during a stay at the Embassy Suites next door to get a pedicure. I ended up getting a design on my big toes because I wanted to treat myself while on vacation. You could tell that the lady painting my toes took a lot of pride in her work. The end result was SO pretty. I admired them all the way back to my hotel room where I immediately put my regular shoes on for dinner. I promptly marched myself back down to the shop to ask them, rather sheepishly, to repair the damage that I stupidly caused myaelf. They were able to salvage the majority of the design, and it still looks awesome almost two weeks later. It was cute how the other ladies were so concerned about the flowers on my toes. If I lived in Portland, I'd definitely go back here for another pedicure. read more

I stopped by yesterday to this salon and Annie did an amazing job! She went above and beyond and I have to say the best pedicure I've had in a long time. It was so great that I got a manicure too. Downtown has taken a beating this past couple years and I used to work down there. It was refreshing to go downtown and get such a great service. This is my go to place. Not because I live close by, but because I DO get excellent, friendly service and great nails! Plus the people-watching here downtown is wonderful this time of year. Holiday shoppers, out of towners staying right next door at The Embassy, plus super close to cafés. Tonight, I decided to get a pedicure with a beautiful sparkly gold color. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I went in for a nail repair and was treated like crap. The ladies acted as if they didn't want to help me, finally received help and she literally slapped a crooked tip on my nail and rushed through my service. I will not be coming here ever again. Last time I checked my USD spends the same as anyone else's. It's very disappointing that as a paying customer , a place of business feels comfortable being disrespectful to someone patronizing their business. They will never get a dime from me again! read more

I stopped by here to get a pedicure while I was visiting the area for a wedding. I was super happy with the service! I opted for a pedi with salt scrub, hot stone, etc...the lady who did the pedicure was super friendly (maybe owner?) and did a nice job. She didn't rush through the service. My boyfriend wanted to treat me to a mani & pedi and the tech was the sweetest. She offered my boyfriend a pedi because I told her he had an ingrown and she gave him a comfortable pedi and got the ingrown out without any pain. She even stayed after hours to finish. Downstairs from my hotel. Never know what to expect from random nail places in Los Angeles (where I live) but I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Tina did an amazing job with my gel mani. My pedi was a little light so I went back the next day, they added a coat at no charge. Only complaint is I wish they had done more scrubbing to remove more skin on my feet. If I'm ever back in this area I'd come here again. read more

I've gone from a girl who only wore her hair in a ponytail or braids to keeping it unbound. I've gotten so many compliments and I just love the cut -- I can wear it straightened and curly and it looks just as good both ways. I've found the person I want to keep doing my hair, and I will be back!

I had a mixed experience recently here- Gretchen was very nice through the appointment and seemed…read morevery knowledgeable and helpful. She responded very quickly to my message quickly when I expressed dissatisfaction with my hair afterward, and offered to redo the color but I'd rather wait for my hair to grow out as it's several inches too short and already has layers of color in it. I arrived at 11am for an appointment that my confirmation said would last until 1:30pm and we didn't finish until 4pm. She did my cut first and then did the baby lights- they added nice color and dimension to the hair as desired. But she then did my roots and combed the color through. While my color was processing, someone arrived for a haircut and had their haircut done while my color sat. Around 45 minutes later, my color was washed out and was darker than I expected- most of the baby lights were no longer visible. She mentioned the color will fade to be lighter as expected, but the result was surprising. I also asked for 2 inches or so to be cut, and mentioned I wanted to be able to put my hair in a ponytail still. When facing the mirror, the length was going great and she showed me it could still go in a ponytail. When turned around, I lost several inches for some reason and there was no going back. She took off even more in the back, and I left unable to put my hair in a ponytail. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication and she thought I wanted the grow out to be able to be in a ponytail, but I don't think so since she initially showed me she could put it in a ponytail. By 4pm I was tired and hungry and ready to get home- she asked if I wanted to see the hair blown out and styled which I did but just wasn't up for given the 5 hours I'd been there so I said no. There was also another person waiting for their 4pm appointment to start. When I did straighten it at home, I was surprised by my hair. I've gotten cuts that suit curly hair on many occasions and have always been able to wear the cuts straight too. This cut when straight appears uneven and choppy. The transition to the short back is awkward. She'd mentioned that at the end she'd go through and do any evening, cutting of long pieces etc needed but by then, as I'd mentioned, someone had shown up for another appointment at 4 and no additional cutting was done. I'm not sure if it was an off day, if my hair just took a few hours longer than expected or if she typically stacks appointments but things seemed rushed between the clients. I've never had someone try to do a whole haircut while dye sits on and I felt like my dye was likely left on too long due to it which resulted in the darker hair and missing baby lights. I've included pictures of my hair before the appointment length wise, what I asked for, and what I got. Given the many positive reviews, I'd say this could be chalked up to an off experience but given the starkly different results I thought it was worth sharing.

Vibes, off, they let a dog who was whining the entire time inside. As well, made me pay for all of this. Incredibly frustrating I want nothing more than to explain to them that my appearance was my job. I have none now.

Great service, I don't mind the language barrier at all. They are super friendly, nice and does their job with enthusiastic. Very well through Linda and Kim had given me a great massage and they are very adorable!! GREAT way to end up having beautiful nails with a gorgeous flowers on top! Their deluxe pedi was the best. They have so many additional things that was added compared to other nail salons I have been to! I love it, definitely coming back again! read more

Worst shellac mani EVER! The woman rushed through it and there are little hairs and bubbles all under the polish. Also, the polish is very uneven, and even missing on some of the sides. They were very rude, and scheduled too many appointments for how many people they could serve. Go somewhere else!!! This was my second time here, I hated my first experience and thought I'd give them another try. Mistake!!!! Would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

I went back to see Kim and the second time was even better than the first time. I enjoyed my pedicure very much! The staff, although small, was very friendly and accommodating. The Natural Nails will definitely become my regular nail salon now. It's good that I work nearby or else I'd spend a lot on gas :) read more

The natural nail salon is my best salon so far. I love the way their service. Nails technicians's were super friend and kind. Place is clean & nice. Many gel colors were offered, mine lasted for couple weeks or more. I will recommend any one try this place. I am definitely coming back again. read more

This is my favorite nail salon. I have been here a couple time & i loved it. Nail technicians' were super friendly and kin. My pedi was on $19 on happy hours! Great deall with great service. Many gel colors were offered, mine lasted for about 3 and half weeks. I am coming back again. read more

I got my nails done at this place a few times; even brought some of my friends back to this salon. Services were extremely amazing and the view were stunning. The workers were so lovely, i love them. Definitely coming back again, totally worh it! read more

I requested a French tip with chrome powder on top, which I have gotten many times in the past at other salons. I haven't done my nails in months to let my nails get strong and was excited to have them look pretty again. My middle right nail had some dust/residue on it after being cured and the nail tech asked me if it was okay -- I asked her if it could be fixed, and she offered to cover it up with a flower for free as it was her mistake. I asked for it to be fixed instead -- I don't like flowers on my nails and did not want a flower on just one nail. She fixed it, and they looked good in the salon. I even tipped 20%! As soon as I stepped out in the natural light I could see that almost all the nails were bumpy and had residue cured in, quite literally all 10/10 nails. I turned around and went back less than 5 minutes later and apologized for not noticing in the salon, but that all the nails had the bumpy issue she had "fixed" in the middle nail. I asked what could be done, and she said that she could remove them all and refund me $10. I have to go to work, I can't sit for another hour to have my nails I just got during my lunch break removed. I asked if anything else could be done and apologized again for not noticing sooner, as the issue wasn't obvious under salon light and my station did not have a lamp on. She said this happened because of the chrome powder, and I said I've gotten chrome many times and that this is not what happens. She shrugged and said she could refund me $10 but that is it. I agreed. We went to the front and she was struggling with the refund -- I told her to forget it and left. I'm sorry, but this is what my nails look like when I try to do gel myself at home, which is why I went in the first place. I wanted them to look smooth, which is reasonable! Will never return or recommend.

She took the time to give me a thorough detox pedicure. It was simple to make my appointment. And Mary was able to accommodate a schedule change with ease. Often came back in a few days after getting my nails done because a nail broke. I would request they make them ticker because they would often break and still didn't stop them from breaking (going somewhere new and I don't have this problem). Frequently able to get in for an appointment same day.
