I was out from both services in less than an hour. They were rushed and no attention to detail. I left feeling like I still needed a pedicure. So Sad. I could have done a better job on myself at home. Additionally, during my time there they had to turn away 4 people that had booked appointments online. They didn't have them down in there book upon arrival. All women were very upset but extremely graceful despite the situation. I also got an eye brow wax. And the woman took off the end tip of my brow. I wanted to cry because now my brows are uneven. She proceeded to give me a $5 discount and still charged me $15 for service. I am not one to make a big deal and be a "Karen" when I am upset by lack of care in a situation like this. So I paid and still tipped her. I just felt so sad about my poor uneven brows. I love this place! I started going here a couple months ago for facials by Kelly. She does custom facials on me and makes sure my clogged pores get cleaned out every session! So far I've had 4 or 5 sessions and I plan to keep going at least once a month because she always takes really great care of my skin. I also appreciate that most of the products she's recommended for my skin are cruelty free/vegan. I also go here for gel manicures and I'm always happy with what I get. Let me tell you, this place has set the standard. Kim was the one who did my nails and they are BETTER than how I wanted them. I love my nails! I use to work downtown and I never knew this salon did Acrylic nails but today I went in and they do. They are a little pricy with $5 more For different shaping and $10 for the kind of paint I wanted. I ended up spending more than double Of what I expected but my nails look amazing & the service was great too. I will definitely ask for Angela again, she took her time and when a nail didn't look right to her she kept at until it was beautiful and I appreciate that! DANGEROUS THEY DID NOT STERILIZE TOOLS!! I hate to leave bad reviews , but unfortunately when a service jeopardizes peoples health, I feel that I'm obligated to do so. I realized after the pedicure  that they were not sanitizing or cleaning the tools. I watched the one woman take the tools used on our feet and rinse them with water "no soap" and then put them right back into the drawer to use on the next customer. The tool that was used to cut our cuticles was not cleaned at all ,she just placed the cap right back on it and dropped it back in the cart. The products they were using were extremely dirty as well. The massage was unacceptable and rushed. Worst pedicure massage I've ever had. We are now very concerned on what we may been exposed to during our time there. Once again I would like to say that I am so disappointed I have to leave this review. I know everyone right now is going through a rough time, but I feel obligated to write this, the salon is dangerous. I want to support women run businesses and I plead with the owners to do better. Your customers deserve better and nobody's health should ever be jeopardized just so someone can make a quick profit. read more

Update: the nail technician that messed up my daughter's nails responded on Facebook, and I updated my review to 1 Star. See the screenshots of her comments. I have no words for how unprofessional and rude this person was! My daughter and I have been coming here since she was little, for special mother/daughter time. We decided it would be a great idea to go for her 13th birthday! We scheduled our appointments for 3:00, and were 10 minutes early. They had my daughter sit at one of the manicure stations, and I told them she wanted the little miss mani/pedi. They sat me in one of the pedicure chairs, and started trimming my nails. My daughter sat, unhelped, for 15 minutes, until I asked if someone was going to start on her nails. They moved her to the pedicure chair by me, and started trimming her nails. I received a mediocre leg massage by a second person, while the first person worked on my daughter's nails. Her nails were trimmed and painted before my massage was even done, then they moved her back to the manicure chairs. The same girl trimmed and painted her fingers, left rough spots, and unpainted sides on her pinkies. Everything felt very rushed, and the people that did our nails didn't even try and talk. The girl helping my daughter overheard us talking about how it was her 13th birthday, then when I went to pay, she told me that she was charging me full price for her mani/pedi, because the "little miss" mani/pedi is for under 12 (which isn't noted anywhere on their services brochure in the shop). I mentioned that my daughter didn't receive the full mani/pedi experience (the little miss is shorter, no leg massage) and the girl told me she did! Came here for the first time ever yesterday, and I'll never be back. So many issues and I was annoyed the whole time I was getting my full set done, honestly didn't even want them to finish it anymore. I came in to get a pedicure and manicure done for my wedding. I had about 4 shades that I wanted to try on for my pedicure since they were all light pinks and it is hard to tell what color they will look like once painted on a nail. When I brought the colors over, she said "Oh my god", as in, wow, that's a lot of colors you want to try. During the pedicure, she was seated next to another manicurist who is giving my friend a pedicure. My aunts all speak Vietnamese so I can tell when they are gossiping and these two ladies were definitely gossiping (not about me and my friend though). Afterwards, I told the lady that I needed to get my nails done for my wedding and that I wanted nail art for my hands. I showed her pics of what I wanted. We settled on a shade for gel and I definitely wanted a light pink that was opaque and not see through. The color on my nails ended up being way lighter than it was on the sample where they have all the colors painted on fake nails. I asked for as second layer and the lady said, "one layer is enough" which definitely was not. Even after the second layer, my nails were still see through. I had also asked her to cut my nails since I didn't like them long. She only cut them on one of my hands. And then when I realized the nails were not cut on the other hand, she just filed them but they were still too long. I didn't say anything else at this point since she seemed to be inconvenienced by the request the first time. I wanted mainly glitter and then for one nail, have several jewels in a circle and then in the center, wanted a white circle .25 inch in diameter. She put on the jewels to create the circle and then I asked her about the white circle inside like we had discussed and like the picture that I showed her several times. She takes her brush, dips it in white and then dabs a dot in the center and says "there!". The dab was not even filled in, it just looked like a lazy brush stroke with little gaps/holes. The glitter did not look like the pictures either. I think in the pics, they used real glitter versus at the salon, they used gel glitter polish. Overall, I was very unhappy with the experience. The manicurist did not listen to me, felt annoyed when I tried telling her what I wanted, and forced me to like things that I didn't like versus trying to make me happy. At one point, I almost got up and left and also considered getting all my nails redone at another salon. This was the shorter older lady with glasses sitting right by the entrance. I went here when I was visiting Portland for the day. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a go. I actually called a few places and this was the cheapest place to get a shellac mani for $27, but if you check in to Yelp they give you 10% off. I was immediately greeted and was half an hour early to my appointment, but they took me early. They had a lot of nail polish to chose from, which I loved and made my choices harder to decide. The process was fast, the place seemed a little dirty meaning it needed a little extra cleaning. I like my nails, everyone was friendly and nice. The music needs something else besides elevator music. Like someone else said. The real test would be to see if my nails last. Recently had my nails done at lace beauty, I showed her what I wanted and as you will see in the picture they turned out horrible. After contacting the manager she was able to give me a refund and I store credit to bring me back to the salon. Here's the hard part I love 40 minutes from the salon and the next day was my brothers wedding. So I had to go to another nail salon spend another 2 hrs to take them off and get them redone. What a find this unpretentious salon is and right in the middle of the Pearl! I was needing to waste some time because I had tickets to see some jazz at Jimmy Maks. The show was a few hours out. There are many factors that go into a GREAT experience and I feel that every time a client/guest walks into a spa it should be a complete experience. I believe that attention to detail will make or break my experience. At the last minute I decided to get a pedicure and was able to get a "walk-in" appointment. When I entered the spa two therapist were sitting at a manicure station chatting. I got a, "hello" and then a stare. I asked if there was availability for a pedicure and was told, "YES" and then I got another stare. I seriously stood there for a few seconds with them looking at me and me looking at them before one of them got up. The therapist in her HOT PINK sweatshirt was very nice and did a wonderful job with the clipping and massage. She finished up with hot towels! I highly believe in some sort of uniform or attire. Even if it's all black. Wearing your normal day attire doesn't look professional. During my treatment a man walked in who seemed as if he was friends with the staff/owner. He sat in the pedicure next to me and started chatting with my therapist. Then another therapist entered the spa, pulled up a chair and started chatting with this man and my therapist. The man said, "aren't you going to ask this guy if he wants something to drink" and the therapist, who was slouching in the chair, then offered refreshments after a least 15 minutes into my session. If you couldn't offer when I arrived, I don't want it now. At check out, the girl couldn't even look me in the eye and say Thank You, Did you enjoy your visit? How was everything? All I got was..."That will be $27" and when I paid and left I got a very dull "Thanks" For a Pearl District Mani/Pedi spa I expected A LOT more from the customer service and experience. I even by passed several places downtown because I felt this location would do. When I, a guest in your establishment, invest into your business I expect a certain level of detail and service. Please do not confuse this with ego. Because of my work experience in the Spa and Hospitality business for the past 10 years I have high standards. I have seen the best, I have worked for the best and I have been treated by the best. Whether you are a mom / pop salon or a 5 Star Resort Spa your attention to details need to surpass your guests expectations! First impressions are everything. I am an esthetician/nail technician and I have to say, the service here is poor. My gel manicure (which should last 2+weeks without chipping) chipped an hour after I had them done. She also left black nail polish on my toe from where she messed up during my pedicure. The nail tech I had didn't seem to care much about her job until the very end of my services when I told her I was there with the owner of the spa in which I work. I wasn't offered a beverage or warm neck pack. The pedicure massage was horrible. It felt like I was stepping on legos for two minutes... yes, I timed her. I don't usually leave comments on yelp but this place definitely deserves mine. I went here on Sunday and booked my regular technician Jenny. It was a bit of a long wait than usual because this poor girl had to work on such a rude and poor-mannered customer. Not only she was verbally abused, the customer even refused to pay for her service which was ridiculous being we're now in 2016. When my turn was up, I asked Jenny if she was ok as the poor girl was still sobbing and in tears. I offered to pay for that rude customer, but Jenny said it was ok. She gave me a great pedicure and 20 min massage. I just hope everyone that goes here and other nail salons would have some respect for the technicians and for themselves. read more

Totally sloppy pedicure. With all of the competition in the Pearl there is no luxury to be sloppy. Came in at 5:30 place was almost empty and they clearly were trying to roll out even though they close at 7. Total pedi time from polish removal to dry was 20 minutes. No callus removal nothing even though i asked for it. It was lame. Almost nothing other than removing old polish, putting my feet in water and getting fresh polish. Nails were cut sloppy with rough edges, had to refuel when I got home. Polish was uneven and not even shiny and my feet feel like sandpaper. Great, had to refuel and do my own callus removal at home. And they charge more than the other places that are far more professional. Won't be returning here, ever. read more

We put down a cash deposit, and confirmed, not once but TWICE. Yet unbelievably, when we arrived at 5;20 for our 5:30 appointment, the place was dark. The doors were locked. Despite many,many frantic calls and numerous texts there was zero RESPONSES. This is the very height of unprofessional. The bride's mother was in shock and tears. We were left with the most unpleasant task of calling lots and lots of nail places at 5:45 p.m.trying to find someone to take us in. Not fun. The next day we were given the flimsiest explanation, and offered a paltry 15 percent off a service. NO THANK YOU. PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR EXPERIENCE AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Who does this! I had the pleasure of service from cosmetician Met on both occasions. She did a wonderful job on both pedicure and manicure. My pedicure has lasted over a month!
