We came for happy hour, it was BOGO on appz. We shared poke nachos, wings, and regular fries. I love everything honestly. The wings were very flavorful and there was so much poke on the nachos (I loved the mangos on the nachos, I thought it added a nice touch). We sat outside and people watched and just enjoyed the view. The server was kind to us as well. I recommend coming here if you're on the island!
This would be my recommendation. The patio stays full and tourists seem to gather or congregate at this end of the beach.
On the last day at Catalina, my friends and I decided to go down and have dinner at a restaurant. This one seemed to have a pretty good online menu and higher ratings than most, so we picked it. Upon arriving, we got sat down quickly. The views were nice. However, it took the server a while to even take our order, considering there were hardly any people there. When we asked for water from the tap, she refused us and said they only sell bottled water. It was strange because they had a bar and bars typically give free water- but okay. Once we ordered, the food took almost 30 minutes to arrive. Again- there were hardly any people. It was a slow Sunday afternoon. I got these Ahi tuna nachos I was excited to try. They were okay. The chips tasted purely like oil. Definitely will not be coming back, and the service was extremely slow as I mentioned.
This has been one of my favourite dining spots on the Island in the past. While still decent, I'd say it has lost half a star in my opinion. It's a small space, mostly outdoors, on the ground floor of the Bellanca Hotel. Inside is the bar (full menu available), while outside has about 4-5 high tops and a bar with seating that faces away from the restaurant, right along the sidewalk and street, with bay views. I recently have been visiting Catalina in the winter, when Naughty Fox has extremely limited hours, Friday-Sunday 9am-7pm (sometimes 5 pm I think). So that's a late-ish breakfast, lunch or early-ish dinner. I was only able to eat here this time because I changed my arrival date to Sunday due to an ominous weather forecast. They always seem short-staffed here. I have better luck sitting at the bar, where on this Sunday there were several parties here primarily to bar-hop. Service can be slow, but the bartender was nice because a couple next to me who clearly had been to Luau Larry's (they had on the hats) befriended her. The mocktail she created (they don't have a spirit-free menu) was delish and pretty inexpensive to boot. I ordered 2 dishes I have enjoyed in the past--the ahi nachos and frito misto. The nachos, my past fave, were still good but lesser. The wonton chips were thicker, the poke sauce more assertive, and the mango hardly detectable. The frito misto also was lesser. Everything was overfried, the scallops were tiny. The calamari and shrimp were okay, but the veggies (squash, carrots, onion, broccoli) were sliced so finely that they were indistinguishable from each other, just unidentifiable fried blobs. I asked for chopsticks for easier eating. I remember getting some spicy-sauced rice in the past, but I may have ordered that separately. Lastly, be aware that Naughty Fox, like pretty much all other restaurants in Avalon, does not serve free tap water, you must buy a bottle, or a box in their case. I bring my own water bottle when I visit the Island. While not as great as past visits, I would still return here, because the menu is still pretty unique for Avalon.
We drove past this place a bunch of times both during the day and night, and it was always popping, so we finally stopped in for brunch to see what the hype was about. The views are unbeatable. You're looking straight out at all the boats docked in the harbor, watching golf carts zip by nonstop. It's basically peak Avalon people watching. We grabbed champagne and just sat there soaking it all in. For food we ordered the breakfast burrito and the oatmeal. The oatmeal surprised me in the best way. Perfectly cooked, not overly sweet, just really well done. The breakfast burrito was solid too, and I asked for both red and green sauce. The red sauce was the winner for me. I really wanted to try the buffalo milk, but I couldn't bring myself to commit to a whole serving, it felt heavy. After way too much internal debate, I skipped it...and now I'm regretting that decision as I write this. It looked so good. All in all, great food, unreal views, and a super relaxing vibe. Definitely stop by if you're visiting Avalon. Oh one thing I didn't like....we asked for waters and they brought us boxed water. It tasted like plastic, so gross. Don't order water here. We wouldn't have asked for it had we known it was going to be boxed water!
We came here for the simple fact that I searched the BEST poke nachos multiples times (because of internet issues) and they came up with an insane picture! Turns out the place more than matches the picture of just the nachos. Leah, our waitress, is simply fun. She was so welcoming and fuming to chat with that we should have just bought out her day-time pay rate + tips and had her sit with us! The view...cmon.. Avalon harbor...not too shabby. Checkout the pic! The one questionable...the Famous+Naked drink. The green chartreus threw me. No idea what it was, but Leah came to the rescue...she said...try a little taster of the green chartreus...so I did...and wow, a stronger version of a Jäegermeister with green pine needles thrown in. The drink...'amazing.... The nachos...ok, the nachos are simply the best we have ever had. No poke out matches the wonton chips, no bland poke stack...this was a legit flavor bomb of mangos, spicy mayo, tuna, with nori powder over every chip!!! Don't question it, just come here...
Enticed by the name, we decided to swing by this place after landing on the island. It's not too hard to get to this spot, it's technically a hotel's restaurant. It sits right in front of a roundabout that then faces the beach. Very cute, service was also fantastic. The salad was great but the tuna nachos were a bit lacking. It still tasted good but I wish there was. just a bit more tuna or other toppings. Would recommend it as a nice place to just relax

Service is great. Everyone is friendly and cool and just here to help you have a good time. The poke nachos were phenomenal. Best appetizer and perfect to share! We tried the buffalo milk, it's like a milkshake with a shot & the pepino cooler which is perfect if you're looking for a refreshing drink. It's such a beach vibe and you can't go wrong with sitting at the bar or outside. Really loved this place!
This place was disappointing and whoever was the OGM on Saturday July 19th, you need to learn better customer service. I came to Catalina to celebrate my mom's birthday and we decided to try out this place. We get there and they don't have seating that fits our party of 6. So the server asks if we're okay splitting up to 4 and 2. We were hungry so we said we were okay with it and would wait for the table that does seat our whole party to open up in the mean time. So my bf and I sat on the patio area while my family sat at a table near the bar. We were hoping that the other table near the bar would open up soon. Our server was attentive and was nice and we appreciated him trying to accommodate us the best he could. My bf and I ordered drinks and the other server brought one of our drinks over to my family's table and my sister told me that he could barely form a sentence. He handed them our drinks and said Order?? But later on, my sisters would overhear him talking to the other tables perfectly, in complete sentences. So that was a little weird. While waiting for our food to come in, we saw a small table open up next to my family, not the big one but at least it was a table near by. We asked our server if we could move over there so at least we were next to my family and he says sure. But as we go to sit down, the other server brings over a party of 2 and says it's already reserved. And then the OGM swoops in with her blazer and says that theres a queue if we want to sit down and that we need to leave. Obviously it was just a misunderstanding, and my bf and I don't mind if it was already reserved for another group. It's not like we got up without asking someone first if we could sit there. But the OGM was rude and just assumed that we went and sat down there of our own accord. Which was weird because I had made eye contact with her plenty of times before when we were sitting on the patio, so it's not like she didn't know that we were already seated customers there. And as a manager, she couldn't go about the situation a little more kindly? Instead she just straight up tells us we can leave. We told her a server said we could sit there and shes like which server? We tell her and she just walks away. My bf and I go back to our original seats and we're frustrated with her tone and her rudeness. Our server comes by and apologizes, but theres not much he can do with her as a manager. Then to add more fuel to the fire, my bf and I saw that the large table finally opened up. We ask our server if we can all move there now. He says he'll go ask his manager. As we're waiting to hear back, a party of 3 white ladies that were sitting next to us move over to that table without asking anyone and the OGM sees all of this and doesn't say a word. Where was the swooping in that she did for us? Where was telling them that there was a queue and they needed to leave? The group didn't even ask and they weren't even a full party of 6. On top of all this, the food wasn't even good. I ordered the shrimp linguini and it's just dry noodles that tasted like mac and cheese with 4 barely cooked shrimp. My family didn't like their food either and it was way overpriced for what they gave us. Also ordered the buffalo milk cocktail, it was nasty. Just a huge disappointment and horrible customer service from the ogm there. Our server we had was very nice and is the only reason I'm giving two stars to this horrible establishment. If you're debating eating here, find another spot!
We love this restaurant! Love to sit on the patio on the rail. Our favorite is Julian. He's always so great and his service is perfect, he knows us when we come in 4x a year. Today we noticed the restaurant was out of everything and the buns for the burgers were store bought cheap small ones. The owners need to get with it! This is a great location and has good workers. I'd hate to see it fail from poor food quality. Just my $.02

Located at the end of the main stretch in Avalon, the Naughty Fox is a cheekily-named small restaurant that's part of the Bellanca hotel. Seating is limited, so it's important to go early to snag a spot either outdoors or inside at the bar. I ordered a chili mango margarita, which was strong and spicy-- loved it! My lobster BLT was just okay, though: I felt that frying the lobster was unnecessary, but otherwise it was okay: the bun was crispy and buttery and inside was chockful of bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. Our server was nice and accommodating, although I could tell that the place was understaffed. It would've also been nice for the restaurant to have the umbrellas turned up at the start of the day, as well as more room to cover the seats-- but with limited space, it was a challenge. Overall, good service and decent, but overpriced food. read more

Came to Catalina Island for vacation & if you're visiting I would recommend this place! Eggs Benedict mahi 7/10: the egg was perfectly poached, the fish was a bit tough & salty, but overall was very enjoyable. The fries, however, AMAZING!! I have no idea what they are lightly coated with, but I think about these fries A LOT! Blood Mary 9/10: beautifully made Bloody Mary with just the right amounts of tomato juice, Worcestershire, & Tabasco sauce only thing missing was a celery stick! Service was wonderful, we sat at the bar & chatted with Angie, who is very kind hearted Overall ambiance was perfect! We walked passed this restaurant a few times and every time it was packed so we decided to give it a try. We sat outside and had a great view of the ocean & boats while we had our lunch. We ordered the Poke nachos/ frito miesto for our meals & mimosas to drink. The poke nachos were very good but the frito miesto was mid. The drinks were made well but then again it was just mimosas. The only good thing about this restaurant is the view of the water, and that's only if you're sitting facing it. Food is absolutely overpriced for the size of portions. I got the naughty tacos for $24 and they were basically a snack! They are the smallest thing I've ever received at a restaurant. The mac, burger, and fries had no flavor profile and they didn't even offer us water or ask if we wanted drinks. Food also took forever to come out and the servers really did not seem interested in helping us. Do not go here unless you want to be robbed in broad daylight. read more
On our last day on Catalina Island, we stopped by for breakfast. There was no wait and we were excited to sit outside on the patio. The service was great, our waitress kept our water glasses full and checked in on us periodically. The Bloody Mary was refreshing with spices added to give it its signature flavor. It was an enjoyable cocktail to have in the warm morning sunshine before getting on the ferry back to Long Beach. The pork belly eggs Benedict had very tender meat with rendered fat that melted in my mouth. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and had a sweet taste that complimented the pork. The breakfast potatoes were salty and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The sausage eggs Benedict was with a savory sausage that was split in half. Opening the sausage gave each bite a consistent texture of buttery hollandaise, seasoned sausage and the poached egg. The fruit was cold and refreshing with a great variety of flavors. Overall the Naughty Fox was great and was attached to the Bellanca hotel. read more

So we took a day trip to Catalina did a lot of fun stuff like zip lining and all I heard a lot about the naughty fox and how the nachos were so delicious so you know I had to stop by upon arriving I waited about 3-5 min before getting seated the server was very attentive and gave good recommendations we sat outside and let me tell you it was very relaxing the cucumber drink was the best one in my opinion overall the nachos were a 10/10 the mood was very chill and relaxed I'll def be back again when I decide to take another trip to Catalina ! read more

I'm a poki nacho fanatic. I try them everywhere I go and this was no different. Reviews and pics look great so I had to go for it. It is at the end of the walking strip when you land in Catalina. Probably a 15 minute walk from the ferry. Most the seating is outdoors but they have heaters. Bar seating is the only inside seats. It was about 12pm on a Wednesday but it was starting to get a little busy. Waitress was attentive and quick. I ordered the poki nachos (obviously) and my sister got the Mac and cheese with bacon. Both were 10/10. I love love loveeeee them. Top three poki nachos and Mac I've had. I would come back everytime I'm in Catalina just for these two items. Special mention to the mango marg. Tasty and good pour. Overall, worth it. read more

Great corner location with great views located at The Bellanca hotel. Indoor/Outdoor bar and eatery. Breakfasts are fantastic but the only downfall is they close the kitchen on Sundays. At least when we were there 7/2024. Lovely place. read more
First time visiting the island and I read the Yelp reviews and decided this is where I wanted to go for a bite to eat before we rented a golf cart. My husband and I shared the ahi poke nachos since this is one of our favorites to order. The nachos were good. We only wish there was a bit more ahi and avocado to ensure each wonton chip had at least a piece of ahi and a piece of avocado on it. We would have also wanted a bit more heat like maybe a wasabi sauce or siracha. The restaurant is very small, mostly a small patio area seating with bar seating inside. Overall we really enjoyed our light lunch and the view and we will definitely return to try more eats on their menu. read more

Enjoyed meal here. Front row seat on the harbor. French toast looks great. We got here just after noon. Strict noon cutoff so no brunch for us. Maybe that's why I took off a star which is not strictly fair, but reasonably some of the other brunch food looked fair. Mahi sandwich was good. Comment was "juicy"", but a little on the small side. I had shrimp bowl that was really delicious. Rice w mango and coconut may not be for everyone. They also have a nice cocktail menu. So it was good enough that we went back to try breakfast. Got here at about 20 till 12 or so. Got to table at five till 12. Mentioned to server that we knew breakfast ends at 12 and asked if we could order right away . He said no we'd have to order from the lunch menu because he still had to clean up the table. We said Goodbye.. read more

I will be honest and say I came to this place solely for lent hint and one thing only. The ahi poke nachos were divine. The restaurant is right on the strip and you can't miss it. It isn't very big but we came after the lunch rush and were seated right away. Our servers were very sweet. The vibes were very cute and I enjoyed the music and ambiance. I will say we weren't interested in trying any of the drinks because of how pricey they were (even the food was pricey). If you only get one thing from here - make sure it's the ahi poke nachos. read more

The Naughty Fox is absolutely the best way to kick off a vacation day with your husband on Catalina Island. We sat outside on the patio, and the entire experience was pure bliss! The outdoor seating is fabulous--it's coastal-chic and totally relaxed, giving you that great loungey vibe you want without any pretension. The food was genuinely amazing; they have a fantastic, elevated breakfast menu that was the perfect splurge. We were luckily enough to grab lunch where when it wasn't busy in the afternoon. It's a smaller restaurant that isn't really made for big groups but our party of 8 was about to sit on the outside patio facing the ocean. They have a small menu with a good variety of food. The poke nachos, mac & cheese, and Chicken sandwich I got hit the spot. read more

Stopped by to get a quick bite & drink before parasailing. There is indoor & outdoor seating. Didn't like my first drink the spicy margarita (spicy for me) they were nice enough to switch my drink and only charge me for one. Loved the outdoor patio! read more
The Naughty Fox was one of my favorite places on the Island because it is tucked away in the corner with a good patio view. It's attached to a hotel which we didn't realize until we saw a bunch of purple walk past us to check in. We came twice and mostly had drinks. Next time we will for sure make it a point to enjoy more of their food. We did, however, try the ahi tuna poke nachos and I could eat that every time! It was really fresh and delicious. We came once for brunch and ordered the mimosa flight. You get a bottle of champagne and can choose up to 4 fruit flavored purée with it. Our favorites were watermelon and pineapple! My favorite cocktail was the Foxy Lady! See, I told you guys we mostly went to drink! definitely go try it out! read more

Food: - First Impressions: beautifully created drink. - Lobster BLT: Based on previous Yelp pictures, the bread wasn't what I expected so I was a little disappointed. However, it was still delicious. We came here based on the suggestion from a blogger who recommended their pole nachos and it did not disappoint! Fish was fresh and of great quality while the chips were fried and had a great crunch. We all got different dishes and they all tasted amazing. The wait was close to 40 minutes and it seems like they're constantly busy without a break so be patient and/or come outside of popular lunch/dinner hours. The servers were doing their best and were very friendly but they may have been a tad understaffed as it took a long time to get water refills and other things we asked for. Went straight here after getting off the ferry, and it was a perfect experience. Vibes were immaculate! Couldn't have asked for a better first meal in Catalina. Had a slight wait, but was seated after about 15 minutes during a pretty busy time! Definitely recommend checking this spot out. read more

I checked out the Naughty Fox for lunch during a day trip to Catalina. It is near the waterfront and walking path, so you can comfortably people-watch if you choose to. I did not have a reservation and was sat quickly. The server appeared knowledgeable on the menu and could provide recommendations and let us know they had box water available for purchase ($4.99) and did not give out glasses of water. We got the Ahi Tuna Nachos, Shrimp Tacos, and Wings based on the menu selection. Ahi Poke Nachos They were seasoned perfectly. The tortilla chips were crispy, along with the fresh avocado. Overall, it is my favorite of the three dishes. 4/5 Naughty Tacos - Shrimp The shrimp tacos were okay. Shrimps were deveined with purple cabbage and pico de Gallo with a spicy aioli. They were ultimately underseasoned, but the aioli with a squeeze of the lemon slice was the saving grace. 2/5 Grilled Chicken Wings The wings were cooked perfectly. The fact that the wings were grilled made the ginger scallion vinaigrette. They were seasoned with a taste so much better. Overall, I enjoyed them. 3/5 The overall service is quick and good. The ambiance was great; people were stopping by for a bottle of champagne or some of their signature drinks before making their way to their next stops. I was expecting a greater variety of dishes, but overall, it was a positive experience. read more

Probably my favorite place I ate at on the island. It seems newer and has a good selection of cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. It's located in a great spot where you have a view of the harbor from the outdoor area. The only caveat about sitting here, especially at the high tops along the outer edge, is that you smell the fumes from all the golf carts and vehicles driving by. I'm sure some of it landed in our food and drinks but oh well, it was too late for us at that point. If it's something that will bother you, maybe grab one of the tables closer to the inside of the restaurant. I got the Strawberry Svelt because the balsamic sounded interesting. It was a little sweeter than how I normally like my drinks but it wasn't bad, almost like drinking vodka and eating a fruit roll up at the same time lol. The poke nachos were such a great snack. The crispy wontons made a great vehicle for the ahi, avocado, seaweed and other toppings. It was also a beautiful looking dish! The Naughty Fox provided that perfect "fuel for the day" breakfast in a nice and modern hotel restaurant on the beautiful Catalina Island. Sure, it was overpriced and service was a bit rushed, but the food was good and the view was great and it was the perfect way to start our visit. Clean restrooms as well. It is a very very tiny restaurant so be prepared to possibly wait. read more

New to the Island and conveniently located at the roundabout is the Naughty Fox. It is easy to find and great for people watching who are walking to the Casino to/from town. Being right on the sidewalk and at the roundabout, at times it was quite noisy. In the early afternoon we chair-danced to stay in the shade, but noticed in the later afternoons the patio was predominately in the shade. This is mostly a patio dining environment. If you sit on the railing, the staff attended you from the street side - while it was more steps for the servers, it was nice to work with staff face-to-face. We stopped by for beverages: G&T and their Illegal Tonic. The G&T was as we expected. The Illegal Tonic was a bit a different for us. Both were refreshing on a perfect Catalina day. We were first-timers and asked a few questions. The servicer was impatient and then service became slow thereafter. read more

Best food we have eaten on the island for the last 2 days Fresh vibrant and delicious .. all of it Great service and a very chilled out vibe makes it a perfect breakfast brunch lunch or dinner spot We had the blackened prawns which were sensational with genuine tasting blackened seasoning and nice char, would def order again .. tip make sure you squeeze the lime over the shrimp and just as important the rice , with the mango & coconut it's bang on delicious The poke nachos also sensational great size serving perfect for sharing with a nice little zing in the toppings and dressing , pretty to look at and easier to eat Chicken wings , cooked perfectly and not drowning in salty seasonings but a subtle smoke from the bbq flavour and a nice Asian style dressing - perfect One of the better fresh food dining experiences found here Oh and that view over the Marina is sensational as well , it's on the roundabout so traffic is constant both golf carts and pedestrians so plenty of people watching on offer as well Will def be coming back ! read more

Food was good, we loved the potatoes side they give with all the sandwich/ burger options. The views are amazing, sitting outside looking at the bay is beautiful. Service could have been better. At first the service was super slow, we noticed people that were sat around the same time as us were calling for the servers. They don't server lunch items until 11am so be warned if you got a little early and want lunch not breakfast. We waited and ordered the lobster BLT which was amazing!!! So many different flavors probably the best sandwich we have had! It came with two sandwiches so we split it! The drinks were good but not great! I ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich with the papas bravas & a spicy mango margarita? soo good! my mom ordered the Blackened Shrimp Bowl which she really enjoyed. Definitely recommend! the service was great, we sat at the bar as there were seats available but otherwise you're looking at 30-45 min wait to sit outside. read more
