    Churros

Made a reservation to come here on a Sunday morning at 11 AM. Upon arrival, I was seated immediately. My server Nick came over and greeted me right after I sat down and brought me menus. They brought warm churros to the table and you could tell they were homemade. Very tasty. I ordered an avocado and eggs bowl that came with red potatoes and I added. Chicken. My friend got blueberry pancakes and she said they nice and soft. The server was always checking in on us and even gave us separate checks which makes every meal out awkward when it can't be split. I will be back!

First time here, very friendly service and welcoming one of the only restaurants that are open for lunch on Monday too! I got the chilaquiles flight, three different salsas an egg over each of them... it was made to share... and share I did not. I ate the whole thing. Just devoured it.. cute decor on the inside clean too, great cup of coffee with fresh cream. I'll be back

Once again we were searching for a family owned restaurant with good reviews that we had not been to. What a pleasant surprise to find The New Cafe & Bistro that opened July 2026 across the street from the Racine post office. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Relaxed atmosphere, great service & food. Haley was our server. She was fantastic. Stop in and say 'hi' to the owner Alan. Great guy with years and years of experience managing restaurants around Milwaukee.

New place still working out the kinks. Greeted with mini churros which were so yummy! I ordered the veggie potatoes with chorizo. It definitely needs more veggies--there were just a few small pieces. It also didn't come with cheese, which would've helped the flavor. I asked for sour cream, and they brought what they said was crema, but it was basically whipping cream. I also tried the small yogurt bowl, which was delicious! My kids loved their food too, and the coffee was really good. All of the fruit was super fresh and flavorful. My husband got the chocolate banana crepes. He said the crepes were great and the bananas were caramelized perfectly, but he was disappointed they used Hershey's syrup, especially considering how expensive the dish was. Our server was just okay, but not very attentive, and we had to flag down someone else for water and coffee. That said, the manager comped us and genuinely listened to our feedback. Another staff member (maybe a supervisor?) was very kind and helpful. We'll definitely give them another try

I am so glad I was able to experience The New Cafe which occupies the space where Dewey's was. The food was fantastic. We were there for brunch and our server Yasmin was wonderful. The place was slammed but Yasmin was literally running from one end of the restaurant to the other. She did everything either a smile and the most positive attitude I've experienced in recent memory. I had the birria bagel which was outstanding. I can't wait to return.

The food was horrible, very bland. The mimosas were also bad. The best thing was the side of fruit.

Yelp pointed us here, as it's a popular spot and I would have to say that we really enjoyed our meals. We got a variety of tacos - barbacoa, picadillo, asada, and carnitas. The ham and cheese quesadilla was really tasty. The carne asada plate was also excellent. I ate all of the chips and they offer five (5) types of sauce!! We also got a steak burrito to go and looking back on this afternoon, we would definitely come back to eat at this authentic restaurant. I say authentic because I think we were the only non-Mexicans in this restaurant, although I do identify as Mexican, so I felt right at home. I randomly wore a Manny Pacquiao Nike shirt today, which caught some attention, but it was all good....

From their chilaquiles, tacos, Gordita's, etc, to their Molcajate, pozole, menudo, etc, their selections have a quality take. Their food is quite tasty and fresh. In addition, the servers are highly welcoming and attentive to your wants; they will even accommodate some add-ons to specific dishes (I got lettuce, chopped onions and radishes added on to my chilaquiles). I highly recommend this place.

The menu features lots of excellent Mexican cuisine choices including quesadillas, birria/ chorizo/ or steak tacos, Mexican breakfast options, and a small kids menu. During our first experience here, my husband ordered the steak taco plate which included 3 tacos, rice and beans. He also ordered the birria ramen. I, myself, ordered the birria taco plate which included 3 birria tacos, the consume, rice, and beans. We thought everything tasted very good! Beverages include: Different Mexican beverages such as Jarritos, Mex Coke, Horchata etc. Once could also canned soda, coffee, or juice. Their horchata was delicious-not overly sweet or watery at all. As far as alcoholic beverages, they have those, too! Paloma's, margaritas, and I was informed that they will soon have a mocktail menu. Service: Excellent. My husband and I dined-in on a very busy Sunday and there was no where to sit except a high counter-top area. We placed our order and were offered a table as soon as one became available. While eating, we were asked at least 3-4x if everything was okay or if we needed anything by various staff members. Prior to leaving, it started pouring rain outside. My husband paid our bill then went to pull our car closer to the door. While he was doing that, one of the employees by the name of Lupe grabbed an umbrella and walked me to the car when he pulled up (it's summertime and I was in summer attire including sandals). When I ordered carry out and sent my husband to pick up, I only wanted rice and beans. For some reason, he did not check the bag before leaving. He ended up coming home with some else's entire order which had no beans or rice. The restaurant was set to close in 15 mins, thus I did not bother to call about it. Value: $10-$20 on average for a meal and regular beverage. Great value for the portion sizes. Ambiance: Nice ambiance, yet very small restaurant with a bar area. Few tables outside for outdoor seating. Location: 2343 Mead St, Mt. Pleasant, WI, 53403 Phone: 262-456-0154 *Parking is all street parking and not the greatest when the place is busy. Check Google for business hours before going as it seems to change often. Cons in my opinion: * Because the restaurant is so small, I didn't like that large families were dining in and being *dining squatters* by taking up a few tables and conversing with one another for a long time, which took up a lot of space for a lot time. *dining squatter- someone that dines at a place, taking their sweet time eating, and lounging around after eating. * this business also owns a food truck, so it seems that their restaurant hours of operation change quite often depending on when they will take their food truck out.

The food was awesome, the margaritas were fantastic and served in mason jars. This name of this place sounded familiar to me so we came here. We went in thinking this was the place and was seated quickly. They served chips and a green salsa right away, my riding buddy thought that the salsa we had before was red. We ordered our usual margaritas anticipating a good cocktail. When the drinks came we were a little disappointed that they were not in a mason jar. We were very disappointed that the margaritas tasted like there was no tequila in them, it was like drinking mix. I finished mine fairly quickly and when the server brought the food We mentioned how the margaritas tasted like there was no alcohol in them. He explained that the margaritas are pre-made in batches, a margarita should always be made fresh from scratch in my opinion. I asked for another and also asked that there be alcohol in this one. He brought the second one and the flavor was much improved, it no longer tasted like just mix. My riding buddy ordered a second and her drink still tasted like mix only so I ordered a shot. The service was good, the ambiance was great but the margaritas a big let down.
