Came here to try their brunch because we heard good things, but let's just say I'd come back only to try the actual New Mexican dishes... The restaurant only had a couple tables occupied when we arrived on a Saturday before noon, so we were seated right away. I got the "Loco Moco" with chicken fried steak, which was basically ordering a CFS with rice. As a person who loves eating everything with rice, I would've enjoyed it more of the gravy wasn't so sweet but it just made the entire dish less appetizing. My friend got biscuits and gravy, which was simple and nothing to write home about. We also got a cinnamon roll to share, and I actually quite liked it especially because they warmed it up. Service was good so I want to give them another chance, but I'd skip on the brunch.

What we were served. After returning, the same plate, we had eaten off of, it was returned with warm & cold chicken thrown on top.

Disappointed - Quality Drops Without the Owner Present We've had great experiences at New Mexicans in the past. The atmosphere was always lively and welcoming, thanks in large part to the owner, who would personally check in with each table and bring a warm, friendly energy to the space. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a major letdown. The owner wasn't there, and it showed. Service was subpar--staff were disengaged, some sitting at the bar on their phones, others behind the counter doing the same. Their interest seemed more focused in the game playing on the big screens than in attending to guests. We ordered chicken nachos, and only after eating a few bites realized there was no chicken. When we pointed this out, the server took the partially eaten plate and returned it with cold chicken dumped on top. It felt careless and unprofessional. We also had to wait for basic things like water and napkins, and the attentive service we were used to just wasn't there. It's disappointing to see such a dramatic difference in quality when the owner isn't present. Until there's more consistent oversight and staff accountability, I'd sadly recommend spending your money elsewhere.

I think my expectations were too high. Very friendly servers. The house made chips were good. I give the guacamole and the queso 3.5 stars. You pay a little extra for the carne asada tacos and it was disappointing because it fell flat in the flavor department lacking any seasoning. The pulled pork sliders: The pork shows up already soaked in bbq sauce. Some peeps might like this. I personally like to taste the smokiness of the pork with a small amount of bbq sauce on top... but that's just me. Otherwise, great atmosphere. Friendly people. Street parking.

I want to like this place as it has a great vibe and it's near where we live, but the quality and taste just isn't there. The margaritas in particular taste as if they're simply lime juice and tequila. The queso is Velveeta and Royal with no added spices with a tiny portion. Once was enough for us unless the quality improves.

Was going to a Silvertips game on a Saturday night with my wife so we decided to give this place a try. When we entered we weren't sure if we should seat our selves or if there was a hostess things were kinda buy so we grabbed a table for two. Shortly afterwards one of the workers came and gave us some menus we made our selections for food and drink. We both chose a Cadillac margarita for our drink, my wife went with the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese while I chose the smoked chicken enchiladas with beans. While we waited I took some time to check out the restaurant, it actually has a kinda small dining area that morfs into a bar/ kitchen. Place was clean and well staffed we got water with our drinks before our meals arrived which arrived quickly. Both of our meals were good mine had a slight smoke and savory flavor with tender chunks of chicken inside, the beans were ok but nothing special. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich both meals were good sized we left full and we went on to watch the Tips beat Seattle 6 to 1. An enjoyable night if you're in Everett for an event and want a quick dinner before it this a solid choice.

We accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant. We actually thought we were at the restaurant next door, but it was a happy mistake. The waitress was very friendly and offered excellent suggestions on what to order. Decided to go with a top seller, the smoked chicken enchilada. My husband went with the brisket sandwich. Both were superb! Will definitely return

Finally crossed The New Mexicans off of our "must try" list! We went for "breakfast" around noon after a night at the casino, and we were lucky to get the last open table. Pleasantly surprised to hear that breakfast was served all day. Expected a wait based on other reviews. The atmosphere was lively, and at times maybe a bit too loud for our liking, as the Seahawks were playing and being broadcasted on the large TVs. IF you are seeking a quiet experience in which you can hear your dining partner, perhaps this is not your place. My husband and I both ordered the Huevos Rancheros. You can customize it with how many tortillas and eggs you'd like, which sauce you want, and add on a meat of your choice if you so desire. The reason I'm docking a star is that the menu was not at all descriptive, and we were forced to rush into a decision when ordering. They apparently have three or four difference sauces, both green and red, ranging from mild to hot. The meat options were not listed, but included pork, smoked brisket, and a few other things that were rattled off so quickly that I didn't catch it. It would have been really nice to know this info in advance so we would have had a chance to think of it. As is, it felt rushed, and to be honest, I wasn't completely crazy about my choice. It's seems customary that these options would be spelled out on the menu, but alas, they were not. My husband chose the mild green sauce, which was a bright and fresh, and tasty sauce that was just delicious. I chose the medium red sauce, which was a darker, smoky, heavy on the cumin sauce, that some people will love, but it just isn't my favorite flavor combo. It was good, and I ate it all, but I definitely would have chose differently if given more information about what my options were. We also got two cinnamons rolls to go, which were huge, heavy, with a bit of icing and no raisins (yay!). They were fairly average IMO, but I didn't go there for the cinnamon rolls anyway. I'm looking forward to returning and trying lunch, but next time, I will know to ask a lot more about the menu before I order. I saw a lot of plates come out that looked really tasty. They also had mimosas if that's your thing. Prices were fantastic, by the way... Our dishes were only $12, but to add the brisket was $5 (and worth it). It's been a long time since we've gone for breakfast and had a reasonable bill. You get a lot of value for your money at this restaurant, and really good service. I would recommend coming at off times if you don't want to wait.

Pulled pork sliders and smoked kielbasa
    Jason K.

My wife and I went to happy hour and tried the carne asada tacos, pulled pork slider and the smoked kielbasa. The smoked kielbasa was fantastic, the carne asada tacos were just ok, the seasoning on the carne asada fell a little flat. The pulled pork sliders had a little to much BBQ sauce for my liking. Me personally, I don't like my pulled pork soaked in sauce. I like to taste the smokiness of the meat and add my sauce as needed. All in all, the staff was great, the venue was good however, there is a good chance we won't be back.

Our kids loved sitting up at the counter to eat , tapped into phones awaiting their food.

Wonderful fun friendly family runs the place, making so much from scratch! Went here today for lunch with our three kids (twins 13 and a 16 year old) and everyone loved it. Yummy homemade cinnamon rolls and homemade shell for the fresh taco salad. I got the green enchilada plate with two over medium eggs on top. Very fresh and filling. Kids all commented on the great atmosphere, asking to come again (that's unusual for them). The five of us sat at the 'bar/counter' of this family friendly restaurant and got to interact a bunch with the people who make this homecooked-tex-mex style place. Lighter flavors, mild and very natural, with new twists on things like nachos. Adore being able to get cool breakfast plates mid-day! And my son really enjoyed the huge serving chicken fried steak plate! Give this place a try. Seems like somewhere to become a happy regular.

Tacos salad... or just a pile of lettuce with very little meat.
    Tami A.

Pre-hockey dinner choice. Got a table right away, but then waited... and waited... and waited.. I was feeling like Carne asada, however.... Everyone is in a tortilla or a bun, everything has rice or beans. Meat is extra. Huh. Can I just have a green enchilada without a tortilla? Oh, no. Those are pre-made and impossible to change. Oh. Red enchilada? Well yeah, but it's just lettuce onions and cheese. Okay. Can I have a taco salad without beans? Sure! Here's the taco salad... with beans. Sigh. And honestly there's so much lettuce, and maybe 6 pieces of meat? Will not be back.

It was an excellent return (to the space) and what a great meal we had here. It was such a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience that I am going to drop a five star score. Colibrí is Hummingbird in Spanish and we figured that out fairly quickly in addition to the signage and saw this particular bird. It's also one of our favorite birds that come around our house. We were pondering if we wanted appetizers but we held off and went straight to drinks and a meal when it came to ordering. I got the absolutely fantastic Enchiladas Colibrí with ground beef. This was a trio enchilada plate in which each enchilada is in different sauces. One has a green sauce, another a red sauce and another was in a molé sauce. All three enchiladas were absolutely delicious as well as all three of the sauces. Ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors had a great "personality " to them. It was a great choice to get. My plate also came with rice and beans. When it was put before me I was wondering if I was going to be able to eat it all but I did and was feeling just right. For dessert we had a great tasting flan. Whenever we are in a Mexican restaurant and a flan opportunity arises Steve often time seizes the opportunity to get an order. It too was quite good and a great finish to the meal. I also got their Cucumber Margarita which was very refreshing and the Cucumber essence was a great fit to the rest of the meal. The Tajín rim was a wonderful touch to the drink. Very, very good meal and nice, friendly service gives Colibrí a five star score with ease.

Andrew (our server) introduced us to his sidekick, who was in training. Love that personal, hands on approach for a mew team member, and Sidekick did a great job in monitoring our table and replenishing water. Have to stop here and express my appreciation for Andrew and how he took the time to explain the philosophy and genuine team vibe of the restaurant. Oftentimes when a restaurant adds a flat 20% gratuity, you get the feeling this is not passed on to the servers. Not so here. He explained that it's shared among the servers, bar, and other staff, with only a bit retained by management, but even that finds its way into their wages. Terrific work environment and happy to see it. It definitely shows in the level of service. But we're here to eat. Didn't take a picture, but one of my dining companions ordered the burrito with red chili sauce and it was very good. Just the right amount of heat in the sauce. The Cantina celebrates Taco Tuesday, so I took advantage of this. You get the opportunity to try 5 different street tacos for the low price of $15. For another $4 you order it fully loaded which is a steal (guac, pickled onions, lettuce, giardano, crema, and another lovely sauce). Each of the tacos were really delicious and packed full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and the beef. Was surprised how much I liked the popcorn chicken - still juicy and not greasy in the least. Andrew treated us to a round of the hatch green chili. I was delighted because it was a dish I wanted to try. He described it perfectly: a little kick, but you can't stop eating it. He was right. A bowl of this in the winter with their cornbread (which I'm confident will be delicious) will preempt a winter cold. The sauces on the table are not to be ignored either. The green chili sauce was fruity with a little heat, the scorpion chili brings the heat, but their homemade chili oil is phenomenal. I could put this on everything. In short, the Cantina delivers. Excellent food, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun staff, and a cool vibe. I'll bet the cocktails will also be good. Definitely adding to the regular rotation!
