    Matcha Latte

I think Nitro Bar is overrated. In total, we waited around an hour (in line and for the drinks). An employee came by the line outside a couple times to hand out menus which was very helpful. Drinks didn't take long once ordered. We got a regular iced matcha latte with honey and an iced caramelized banana matcha latte. The flavor of the matcha itself was not great. I wish the texture was more creamy. The banana was good but a bit too overpowering. I'd probably give it a 6.5 or 7/10

Four words: whipped cookie butter latte! Yum! Nitro bar is always packed so my best tip is if you're a coffeeholic like me, go after 2pm. (I know, I know- super late for a coffee) but if you need afternoon pick me up that was the best way to get their coffee but avoid the line! The cafe is next to a bike shop but it adds character. It definitely gives "Providence" vibes.

Saying that I'm obsessed with their delicious cold brew and their unique flavors is an understatement! This is hands down one of the best cold brews I have had in a long time! A coworker and I came to the Nitro Bar after work and, luckily, the line wasn't too long so we were served fairly quickly! The place is small and VERY popular, so I wouldn't recommend coming on the weekends as the line will quite literally be wrapping outside the store and almost to the other establishment next to it! However, the coffee is 100% worth the wait!! I highly recommend trying their Dark Horse Cold brew with one of their home made flavors ( my friend recommended the cookie butter, but the caramelized banana is amazing too). Can't wait to be back for more!!!

I would love to give this place five stars, but it is very overly priced and the inside is so small and jampacked. The service is rush rush, which I'm sure it's because it's slammed in there. They really do need to expand their space because I was not able to enjoy my first visit here.. Prices are over moderate... $10 for a 20 ounce caramelized banana latte with their cold foam. They put way too much banana flavor in it. The cold from was delicious, but very, very thick and hard for me to get a sip of coffee through it, it's more like a whipped frosting. The coffee was pretty good too just overly banana flavored. I'm not sure when I will go back to this establishment, maybe if they expand the store. It was just way too loud and crowded.

The best and most consistently great coffee shop in town, even when super busy. The one downside is that the line on weekends can be super long. It's totally worth the wait, just make sure you bring your patience. Even on a weekday, the line may be short but to wait for food and coffee took about 25 mins to come out. Once again, patience is the key at Nitro and it's worth it every time. The coffee shop itself isn't anything fancy - you do get the bike shop next door if you want to kill time while you wait. There are a few counter seats but they are mostly taken up by people waiting. I wish there was more seating so you could stick around for a little longer or meet a friend. I love their fun drinks and their seasonal menu - the flavors they come up with are so good! I had the chai with maple sea salt whip on top - it was amazing. The cherry vanilla matcha was also very good. The pesto smash was delicious too. The egg was cooked perfectly and the avocado added a nice creamy touch. The breakfast sandwich was also great! You really can't go wrong with anything you order here.

My friend saw this place on TikTok so we had to stop by and see if it lived up to the hype. I really enjoyed my drink and even got help from the worker when deciding, which I really appreciated. I was debating between the cookie butter and raspberry matcha whipped cream top. But the raspberry mixed with the matcha was ultimately the better. There's seating around the cafe and it's also combined with a bike shop!

Ok so first time at the nitro bar so I had to try the nitro for my cookie butter drink. It is definitely strong. Very good, but if you're usually a latte girly like me, get it with the espresso instead! But that's a personal preference suggestion! My friend really liked hers with the matcha as well! My other friend tried the Caramelized banana one and was not the biggest fan of it all, but honestly to each their own! I always recommend trying it for yourself! Definitely threw me off when I walked in and there was a bike store attached to it! But I still the location is prime! Staff is very friendly and I'd definitely return again in the future!

YUM!!! So good. So delicious. So amazing. Honestly, that's pretty much all I have to say. The consistency at this place is insane. No matter what I order, it always tastes exactly the same, and I appreciate that so much because there's nothing worse than ordering your favorite coffee or matcha and having it taste different every single time. Here, it's always on point. The same goes for the food. Everything I've had has been absolutely delicious. The only thing I have to critique is definitely the prices. I paid $13 for a large iced matcha, and while it was delicious and honestly worth it, that's a little less than minimum wage for one drink. It's definitely on the pricey side. That said, the quality, consistency, and overall experience do make up for it. Just don't come here with a little bit of cash expecting it to cover your order because this is definitely not your average coffee shop. If you're looking for a really high-quality drink and meal, though, it's absolutely worth treating yourself every once in a while.

Tried this for the first time after seeing it all over TikTok. Went on a rainy/cloudy Wednesday at 12:30pm. There was about 15 people in line in front of me and maybe 5 people waiting on their orders. Only took 10 minutes to get to the cashier/order and another 2 minutes waiting for my drink. It's very small in there so half of the line you have to wait outside. I ordered a small caramel iced banana latte made with espresso and skim milk. Overall it's pretty good, but just average. Definitely better than Dunkin or Starbucks but not AMAZING like I was expecting (that might be TikTok's fault for hyping it up so much). The syrup sits at the bottom of the drink and is impossible to stir around and disperse in the drink. I appreciate the syrup using actual bananas but I also wish it wasn't chunky (banana chunks). Make sure you grab a straw too at the counter- you definitely need one to stir!! I would come back only because I'm interested in what specialty drinks for fall they will have. This place definitely has creativity with flavors as well which I like. The prices are pretty high too. $7.25 for a small? And a tip on top of that? Ain't no way. Also- they only have 5 bar seats inside, taken up by people working on computers. There was also a customer who brought a cat in and sat at the bar (I'm allergic to cats).

The food? SENSATIONAL. The coffee? Severely underwhelming. The line was out the door both times I went by, but braved it the second time. The location was easy to find and I like the vibes. The cashier was friendly and the wait for my items wasn't too long. Cinnamon Sugar Latte - 8/10. I got the version with cold brew and thought the flavor was good! It wasn't sweet, at all, which I would expect (and look for) in a drink that has "sugar" in the name. Needed more syrup! Caramelized Banana Latte - 7/10. I got this one with espresso. I think the problem is that the baristas didn't stir it at all. The banana purée was settled at the bottom which impacted my first impressions. Even when I stirred, it just tasted like it didn't come together. Another drink that I would expect to be a shade sweeter and needed more complexity. B.L.A.T - 10/10. Really good version of a BLT! The poblano aioli gave it the little punch to take it over the edge. Pesto Smash - 10/10. Fresh, bright, and so good that you don't even consider adding meat to it. Chili Crisp Foccacia - 7.5/10. I would only suggest getting it heated, if possible. The room temp version lacked any good texture and need more chili crisp or an additional topping. Coffee Cake - 8.5/10. Solid coffee cake!

As a pilot I'm an avid Tik Tok user killing time on the app while we are on delays and The Nitro Bar was always on there and it looked good. It's always hard to find good cold brew coffee. So when I was in Providence RI I had to try it. I walked 2 miles from my hotel to this place. There was a line out the door which is a good sign, the cafe was clean modern, it was in a bike shop and gave me a Seattle vibe. 99% of the people in there were ladies in workout cloths who probably just came from Pilates. What did I try? I tried their Dark Horse cold brew, I mean they got famous off of their cold brew and this was marketed as their extra strength cold brew, I also added the caramelized banana purée. Coffee and banana, yea that will work. I was excited. I also added a piece of their coffee cake. Total was $16. These guys are not cheap. I got the coffee and I stirred it up really well for my coffee cake out of the container and started my 2 mile walk back to the hotel. I took the first sip and was wondering on 2 things. Where is the banana and where is the coffee!? This was the weakest tasting coffee and no banana flavor what so ever. I stirred it up again and no change. The coffee was not strong at all, it was watery and to be honest Dunkin has stronger cold brew than these guys. Also I was expecting banana flavor which I got zero of. I was just highly disappointed. Maybe their espresso is better but this is literally what they are known for. I would hate to taste what their normal cold brew tastes like. Total waste of time and money. Coffee cake was just our average coffee cake. I will say that the staff was nice. Overall it was underwhelming and I won't be back because it's not worth the 2 mile walk at all. I'll just go to Dunkin or even Starbucks for a better cup of coffee.

When Foo little boy Foo's grandmother teach me to make and drink coffee. I love coffee like an addict. I hear Nitro Bar excellent coffee so I go to check out. The line very long it snaked back to the building's back and then some. Foo feel old in this line as it was a line of young people. They love coffee like Foo. "How long is wait?" Foo asked young lady next to Foo. "Not long, it goes fast.," then she turned back to Foo so I stopped talking. The coffee shop is nice and they fix bicycle next door. When Foo get to counter he feel nervous so Foo gets the merch. Foo get bag of coffee and a hat for my dad called dad hat. Even though Nitro bar makes Foo nervous because the menu is so full of delish drinks and pastries Foo get cold feet. "Do you have Portuguese egg tarts?" Foo asked. "No." "Ok, I buy merch." That how it went, nice place but I only got merch. Next time coldly brewed coffee for Foo. Yum!

The Nitro Bar- Providence Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Nitro Bar- Providence

Where does Nitro buy their cowboy cookie? Between the line and the fact that they sell out at 10am every day, I need a second option. Please and thank you.

I'm almost positive they make everything in house.

    Is this dog friendly?

Only outside. Because this is a business with food, RI law says dogs that aren't service animals can't be inside. But any outdoor seating is good to go!

Is there no online ordering at this location, nitro has it at all their others?

Does this cafe have sit down indoor seating at the moment?

When I went last month they didn't, but I think they plan to as soon as possible. They are super helpful, give them a ring!

Do they have indoor seating available?

Yes but it's just one long booth along the wall and about 4 small tables

Do they offer sugar free syrups for flavors?

No. I tried asking too/: they don't have any. Not at least when I went and I went not even a month ago

How is the parking in that area?

It's all street parking, there is no private parking lot. It is generally easy to park on the street.

I like the branding, brightness of the cafe, and the fact that there's a decent amount of seating. I got the Iced French Vanilla Espresso Latte + Espresso Teddy which was well-made, bold, and enjoyable. I think the Espresso Teddy is actually made with cold brew and not espresso which I expected given the name and would have preferred. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the slow melt and the boost of caffeine I got as I kept sipping. And it's super cute! The Iced Mont Blanc was also a good try; the sweet orange flavor was subtle and surprisingly enjoyable adding a bright taste to each sip. If I'm ever back in Providence, I would totally come back and maybe try their matcha drinks.

Definitely did not use the appropriate amount of espresso in this drink. The Mocha was not blended correctly and was grainy with a lot of sediment at the bottom of the cup. I was unable to finish drinking that. The friends we met up with mentioned they are surprised how many tables were open on a Saturday. In the past there was 'always a line' of people ordering and waiting for a table. During our visit there were several empty tables. The pastry were very tasty though, so that was nice. The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. There is a parking lot in the back, but I was not sure if it was for the café or apartments downstairs, so I just found street parking nearby. The inside gave me Spaniard vibes because of the cream, smooth walls and dark wooden accents. The following were the two things that instantly caught my attention when I walked in: They have merchandise on display for sale and it seems like high quality material and they had a vehicle made of croissants on display, maybe about 1.5 ft x 1 ft x 6 inches. They have their pastries on display which helps visualize what you're getting before buying it. They are unique and big in size. Their drink menu is good and includes a mix of teas (including matcha) and coffee. I went with the bee latte which was supposed to have honey, cardamom, and cayenne. I was interested in seeing how sweet, herbal/minty, and spicy would taste together. I was also [easily] self-convinced into getting a Za'atar croissant. After our order came out, we walked outside and sat at their patio area which has about 5-6 tables enough for two people each. The latte was good. I appreciated how it was not sweet, but I did think the cardamom was too subtle. It seemed like the cayenne was powder just sprinkled on top and I might've inhaled half of it on my first sip, so I was dying a bit. The Za'atar croissant was given to us in a brown paper box with the outside of their building drawn onto it. Since we asked for it toasted, it was warm and extra crispy/flaky on top. It was flat (about 1 inch thick) and about 6 inches in diameter, so big enough to share if you're just interested in a light snack. The inside of every swirl was packed with olive oil, middle eastern herbs, and lots of sesame seeds. Although it may take away from the traditional flavors and way of eating it, I wish it came with something to dip it into like whipped cream cheese or smashed olives. Nonetheless, it was delicious. On weekends, they have a laptop free policy which I think it good to allow for more people to enjoy, rather than people taking up tables for a while to do work.

Also, within a block of Brown University making the ambience modern, perky and resilient. I was thrilled at the food options being that it's a cafe. My wife and I started with a vegan breakfast sandwich (brioche rolls filled with vegan egg, sausage and cheese) I washed mine down with an Italian soda which was not too bad, but it was canned. Of course, I can't be in New England and not have New England clam chowder. The chowder had plenty and I mean plenty of clam in it but it did get a little cold due to the weight of my server. The service was absolutely amazing. The young lady was so nice and I got the feeling it was her first day though. So, grace given there. She tried hard to remain friendly and positive. She even returned to ask if my wife would prefer to add vanilla and cinnamon to her latte. Nice touch! The manager training our server had his hands full but still took the time to be nice to us. Caffe Nero was filling up with people while my server was busy trying to prepare my order. She's only human and I could see her becoming visibly anxious and overwhelmed however she held it for appearance sakes. Hats off to her! No complaints about anything because I've worked in customer service for many years and they all did a fantastic job. Thank you Caffe Nero for a remarkable and rememberable experience. By the way, my son said that the peaches and cream matcha was the best matcha he ever had.

The texture of the croissant was great, but the meat was too salty for my taste. Not a bad choice though.
