I came here after recently buying my first firearm. I previously took their introductory course and purchased a gun from them, so I expected my first solo visit to the range to feel welcoming and beginner-friendly. Unfortunately, that wasn't really the case. When I walked in, I made eye contact with the staff member behind the counter and explained that it was my first time shooting here since taking their intro class. Instead of any kind of greeting or friendly acknowledgment, he immediately asked for my last name. After looking me up, he told me (without much explanation) to go to the middle computer for the intro video and then the side computer for the waiver. When I asked for clarification on what "side computer" meant, he simply repeated the instructions with noticeable attitude. It set a pretty unwelcoming tone. The video and waiver were easy, and when I came back to the counter, I let him know I brought some of my own ammo since you need to declare that. He told me to "take it out" so he could check it. After that, he just listed off, "ear protection, eye protection, targets, ammunition?" I already had my own gear, so I asked for just a target and ammo. He instructed me to turn around and pick a target. After paying, he pointed me to a bay and reiterated rules that the safety video already covered, and that was essentially the end of our interaction. He didn't ask if I had any questions or clarify anything else. The actual range itself is functional and was a fine experience. But I'm glad I did some YouTube research about how gun ranges work beforehand, because the lack of guidance here would have been pretty intimidating. As a newer gun owner, I was hoping for staff who felt more approachable and patient. Overall, I was disappointed that the customer service for newcomers was so unwelcoming, especially from a place where I had taken a class and bought my firearm. read more

Staff is decently friendly I will say, which is a change from when I used to come here years ago. One thing I don't like is that they changed the silver membership that's supposed to be a "family" membership so that you can't have ur kids on it if they're over 21 can't remember which. It's literally just me and my son who want to share one but we aren't gonna spend the 300 something a piece we just wanna share a membership. Very lame considering it's just the 2 of us anyway and if he was just a year or two younger we would be fine. Other than that the range is nice I think they do a decent job filtering out dangerous people and keeping the range safe. It does get very very busy at times so be prepared to work around people, clean up after yourself, and most of all be respectful and safe for the people around you. They have a good selection of firearms if you get the silver membership you can pick form the pistols. I used to have one but since they made weird rules around it I refuse to get another ever and deter family and friends from the memberships too. The pistols the rent out do jam often and aren't always cleaned or kept up to personal standards. Other than that decent place. read more

The five stars with regards to this review does not have anything to do with the gun range itself. I've had one experience with the gun range many years ago, and it was good. They are, as they should be, attentive to safety. Most of my experience is not in the range but purchasing other items. The selection is decent for the size of their pro shop. I would say the value is in what your purchasing and if it's pragmatic. Cost of items these days are a bit much but the quality is high-quality merchandise. The staff is knowledgeable and excellent. I don't feel rushed or pressured. I feel as though I can have a conversation and learn about certain items that I'm not familiar with. I would recommend West Coast Armory North. read more

I've visited this location several times and have purchased a couple of rifles along with various accessories. I've consistently appreciated the way the sales staff interact with customers, they're knowledgeable, approachable, and helpful. The indoor gun range is a great feature, though I believe it could benefit from improved ventilation. Went in there to shoot with my gun and not going to lie I haven't shot my in about a few months and me thinking it's good to go when I got there so long story short my gun needed cleaning and as I've seen from this place online said they do clean guns so I asked the guy behind the range table how much it would be and is he the one doing it as the times before I've seen them always cleaning guns behind the counter and there own so a general person would think it's a clients gun but anyways the guy behind the counter proceeds to yell at me and say I'm not cleaning your gun your doing it yourself and proceeds to yell at me in front of everyone there and insulting me and saying that I need to go to his class there to learn my gun and telling me how dumb I am and that I'm going to spend the money to go to his class so I can not be lazy and have someone else clean my gun again it said online they clean guns and also my friend that I went with cut himself and they proceeded to also give him a peace of there mind of how dumb he is to but also to add in I'm very busy person as is I do know my gun but I highly recommend not going to this range as they bully you and are very rude to a customer might be cheap but you'll pay for it with verbal abuse by the staff there read more

The staff here is really helpful, with no "gatekeeping" or attitude. Highly recommended for new gun owners/shooters. I wanted to purchase a firearm and had never bought a pistol before. The staff in both the shop and the range were really patient and answered all my questions. I was not going to purchase there, but I was so impressed with my overall experience that I paid a little more for the pistol I was looking for in order to give them my business. It should also be added that I visit the range about once a week and I've been consistently impressed with the adherence to safety rules. I've also been impressed that there is no obvious political affiliation in the shop. I'm about as liberal as they come, and my gun ownership is not my main personality trait, and I'm treated with respect and like a regular. I was joined by 2 of my family members to find something fun to do while visiting. We found this place, thinking it would be a fun activity to try. When we got there, we made it clear we were new and asked for directions on how we could shoot. The elderly man behind the counter rushed us to a computer for educational training and registration. After which, he said "you cannot shoot here if you did not bring a gun." This was a total waste of 30 minutes which could have been avoided. Clearly, he was making a mockery of us. read more

I am new to handling guns. I have taken two classes and really enjoyed them. At first, I was nervous and questioned if I wanted to buy one. The knowledge and professionalism of both my instructors Jeff and Chris gave me the confidence I needed to continue learning. Martha was great at the counter helping me choose the gun I purchased. EVERY CLASS was punctual & informative & increased my knowledge & confidence in owning a pistol and shooting it. I have since purchased a Silver Membership and intend to use it often. I'm a long-time member of West Coast Armory in Factoria, which is unaffiliated with WCA North. We recently moved and I thought I'd check out WCA North. it only took a few minutes to see how different the two places are. WCA down in Factoria is clean, big, well-run, well-ventilated, and pleasant to visit. WCA North is none of these things. The staff is fine - very friendly & professional. It's the facility that's the problem - It's crowded: people were walking all over the place behind me while I was in a booth, shooting. Very cramped feeling. Much smaller than WCA in Factoria. It's dirty: the booths had stuff from previous shooters laying all over; there were thousands of shell casings in front of the shooting booths - it must have been weeks since the simple duty of sweeping them up was performed. It's poorly ventilated: At WCA Factoria, you don't smell gunpowder in the range. Great ventilation. At WCA North, the smell is pervasive in the booths. Gross, and no doubt very unhealthy. It's not a pleasant atmosphere: I walked out after only about 20 minutes -having driven a long way, expecting to see the WCA quality I'd become accustomed to, and completely disappointed when seeing the reality of WCA North. Bottom line, if you want a good experience, go to the Factoria store. I'll never go back to the North store. read more

I have found that overall WCAN is a top notch place to do business. I've been in several times now for transfers, pickups from internet purchases, as well as assistance in setting up a silencer shop profile with the kiosk. The staff has been knowledgeable, friendly, and considerate. I would have given 5 stars but unfortunately there's a severe lack of organization when it comes to the logistics of helping customers. Each person on the staff is eager to help, for sure, but, sadly when they get busy no one really knows where to go, queuing up for assistance can be confusing and it often necessitates even longer waits and at times some customer frustration as folks tend to misunderstand poor logistics with bad service. As I said this place has fantastic service they just need a little help with the organization. Selection is good, at least with what they can get and I've never found that my disability has been an issue for anyone there. In fact on more than one occasion I've been offered a little extra assistance such as a chair to sit on during a transfer as standing for long periods of time can be problematic and painful, which lends to my criticism about logistics and organization. However, the bottom line is that this place is a solid gun shop and while I haven't had the pleasure of using their range as of yet, for my mercantile business I give them a solid A and will continue to provide them with my business, especially in these times where it seems that more and more politicians are pressuring law abiding citizens and working harder than ever to suppress our 2nd amendment rites. Stark change from my membership of 2022. The older more knowledgeable and courteous staff is possibly no longer there? Now there are young adults running the pro shop. USPS could not deliver due to 'No Authorized Recipient Available' during business hours. I went in the next day and was told by the young clerks "USPS is lying." They left it up to me to handle any solution. There is no door tag. I have to reschedule the delivery when in actuality WCAN is the recipient, making the reschedule contact info confusing. The reschedule date has now passed with no delivery happening. I am left with a Postal Service package research investigation. I called the seller. I feel like the entire situation would have been avoided if WCAN didn't drop the ball on delivery day 1. Days later the saga eventually resolved when seller called the FFL to confirm 'lost firearm' and report so to the AFT when the FFL searched and suddenly they actually DID have the firearm. At this point I do not recommend WCAN for use as an FFL. -ymmv- read more

Ladies night is offered on Thursday's which means there is no lane fee for females. Unlimited hand guns (one at a time) can be rented for $15 with the hand over of ones license. Outside ammunition is not allowed with rental hand guns. Ammunition must be purchased on-sight for rented hand guns. If wearing prescription glasses, no further protective eye ware is required. read more

West Coast Armory North has both a range and pro shop. The employees we've dealt with have all been kind, helpful, and professional. They have a good rental program which allows you to try out as many of their guns as you'd like, which is extremely helpful. They do offer a bronze membership for active duty military, which is nice. Why I knock it a star: They say they have a military discount on their products (including guns and ammo). HOWEVER, what we didn't know, it that there are exceptions. Unfortunately, we didn't know this until we had gone through all the paperwork. Our purchase, for some reason, was an exception to this, which was a bummer (part of the reason we purchased here was because of the military discount we thought we'd get, otherwise we would have likely saved money and bought it elsewhere). Other bummer is that they're a membership-based facility so you do have to pay a membership fee. And if you're a bronze member, you still do have a lane fee + guest fee each time. read more

Nice place overall. The people are very friendly, especially considering that I'm Middle Eastern. Believe it or not I've been treated badly at other stores and ranges because of it. I have bought 2-3 guns there and the experience has been great. No one here is stuck up and they are all happy to help you buy a gun or anything else. I have been going to their range for the last 5 or 6 years. They were friendly and helpful from day 1. Obviously since I've been going there for a long time, people have gotten to know me and are even friendlier than before, and know that I'm a safe shooter. I am newbie gun owner, but my boyfriend is a seasoned hunter and gun collector. We both recently gifted guns to ourselves for our birthdays, so we wanted to go and test them out together. We looked around at a couple different places, but West Coast Armory seemed the best for environment, value, and availability. You do need a membership to shoot here, but if you plan on shooting even a few times a year, this is the best value. For a basic membership, you pay $25 a year, a $15 lane fee, and $10 for a guest. Most other establishments charge at least $18-20 per trip. The membership process was easy (via computer), and the employees were very helpful. If you wear glasses (like I do), you can wear those in lieu of safety googles. We borrowed ear muffs for free. There are various different targets you can use with the lane fee. I really enjoyed shooting here. It was clean, not too crowded, and they either blasted AC or warmth depending on the temperature, which was nice. Since I am a member, I will definitely be back, especially with guests, and I would recommend this place to any of my gun-loving friends. read more

My son wants to get me a new handgun for Christmas, so we went to try out several models. The shop staff listened without interrupting, took our concerns into consideration when suggesting the appropriate firearm. We then went into the range and tested out that particular gun and several others. The range staff was thorough and helpful as well, even going as far as coming out to our lane to help us with a jammed pistol. They made sure that we washed our hands with the lead-cleansing soap afterwards. They also help us pick out a gun safe so that we are doing the right thing in storing my handgun. I purchased a Groupon for Handgun Safety and Marksmanship for me and my husband for our 1st wedding anniversary. I was very nervous about the class because I have never handled a gun in the past whatsoever. I also did not know what to expect in class. I want to start out with how easy it is to make an appointment. Some establishments give you a hard time or doesn't give you the same treatment as a full paying customer bec you have a Groupon. I called to make an appt and the nice lady set me up with an appt quickly and also sent me an email for further instructions and reminders. Upon arrival to the venue, there were two gentlemen waiting outside the door. My first thought "they look scary." That made me even more nervous! But as we get to know them, Tracy & Benjamin, they weren't scary at all! Lol As we settled into the classroom, we were joined with 2 other couples. The class was 4 hours long. 1st 1.5 hours was lecturing. It was not boring for me at all because it was my 1st class and I was very interested in knowing what to do and how to safely and properly handle a gun since I've been wanting to buy my own for home safety. I like how our instructor, Tracy, does not give an intimidating vibe at all! He welcomed all questions and answered them all. I like how he the class was simple and straightforward. We took a 10 min break and then headed to the firing range. @ the firing range - I liked how the instructors are right beside you making sure you are doing things correctly. They were very attentive. My 1st 10 rounds was nerve racking! My legs were shaking so bad, it gave me Charley horse lol but that quickly eases up as I feel more comfortable with the gun I was holding. Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with our experience. We even purchased our 1st gun and a gun safe at their store! The process was also flawless and the person who sold us the gun was able to answer all our questions! We are looking forward into taking more classes there and will def use their shooting range to practice with the pistol we purchased. Sorry, too long! read more

Been a member there for 3 years now and it's been great. I actually moved from Lynnwood to Marysville but kept my membership because they are worth the drive, and with the silver membership it's still a great deal for me. I have only rented a few times there - very easy but you must use their ammo. Given that it is also free with silver membership it seems fair. Sale side is great. Guys aren't afraid to give their opinions on their inventory and they are as fun as they are knowledgeable and have great input on scopes/accessories. I have now bought multiple firearms /accessories from them - all seamless transactions. read more

I won't go to this place again. Used to go to the range every few months with my Silver membership. A while ago they decided I couldn't shoot my .308 there, so I dropped the Silver and went for Bronze. Last month the shop screwed up an FFL transfer. Yesterday they wouldn't allow 5.56 without Silver membership. Since most of their range staff are complete A-holes anyway, I'll be going to a different range east of Arlington from now on. They'll do up to .308 without an expensive membership. read more

After our initial visit we purchased a Silver Family Membership here, which is a great value if you are shooting with any regularity at all; and we love visiting the range and the Pro Shop! All of the employees have knowledge they are willing to share. Every time we leave, we remark to each other about how nice and helpful the person we just dealt with was. There are classes available, but even if we are at the range working by ourselves, they have never failed to help and/or answer any questions we may have. When we make purchases, whether it is ammo, equipment, or a new firearm, we are always able to consult and get input to help us make a decision, and we have NEVER been pressured by anyone. read more
