3.5 stars I came to…read moreFarmer in the Deli cause of the hype it has on social media for thier viral chopped sandwhiches. I arrived and of course thier was a line. I waited for about 45 minutes, while waiting I picked up my chips and a white peach ginger ale. I also talked to the girl in front and she explained that you can get your sandwhich on a hero or roll. I ordered a chopped honey turkey with onions, pickles, lettuce and mayo. The guy who made my sandwich was soo friendly and patient. I just put my trust in him to hook it up lol. He also asked if I wanted to add the chips and I did. Overall my sandwhich was better the next day after it firmed up. The flavor was good but the texture was soft, mushy and just not what I want in a turkey sandwhich. It ran me about 12.00 and it was worth the experience.

The original name was called laurose and tuna salad chopping has been happening for over four decades. My fort green family really know what it is. My cousin and I stopped by yesterday and picked up a couple of heroes. I had to get my beef salami and 3 pepper colby jack cheese, extra mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles, on a whole wheat hero (10.99) . Much love to a family staple for years. Definitely a place for you to pick up a sandwich that won't break the bank.

Today I stopped by Brown Bag Sandwich Co. with my son, and it's the kind of place that reminds you…read morehow serious New York takes its sandwiches. Everything there is built around one idea: great ingredients make a great sandwich. Instead of cutting corners, they focus on quality and even make a lot of things themselves to make sure every bite is right. The menu is stacked with favorites. Their chopped cheese is one of the most talked-about sandwiches in the shop, and for good reason. Another standout is the hot roast beef and cheddar--simple, savory, and packed with flavor. They're also proud of their New York-style chicken Caesar wrap, made with romaine, Parmesan, croutons, shredded chicken, and a strong Caesar dressing that ties everything together. It's a short ingredient list, but every part matters. If you want something classic, the Italian hero brings together prosciutto, soppressata, sharp provolone, mozzarella, tomato, red onion, cherry peppers, lettuce, and Italian dressing on toasted bread. The roast beef sandwich is another heavy hitter, layered with their housemade sweet-and-tangy sauce, au jus-dipped roast beef, cheddar sauce, and fried onions. One cool detail: their new pastrami sandwich comes on a custom rye hero made with Breads Bakery, so you still get that classic rye flavor in hero form. Even the way they chop the sandwiches has a purpose--everything gets chopped in a bowl so the ingredients mix together better, giving every bite the same flavor. What I liked most is that the place feels very New York. It's built to honor the classic sandwich shops that came before it while still doing its own thing. The goal is simple: make sandwiches people trust, come back for, and maybe even add to their personal "top ten." And honestly, grabbing a great sandwich there with my son today... mission accomplished.

That's not how they did it at Zaca." The ambiance is a perfect reflection of Bed-Stuy-African/Afro-inspired art, warm colors, real character. It feels like your Auntie's dining room in the best way: intimate, cozy, and full of soul. Seating is snug (I can see it getting tight during peak hours), but when I went it was relaxed and inviting. There's even a little outdoor space if you want to eat with the city humming around you. Now let's talk about the hospitality because who says you can't get it in NY? Miss V-my waitress- was everything. Attentive and effortlessly on point. The food is made to order, which matters, because this is a conversation place. A linger a little, laugh a little, feel at home kind of spot for us. Welcoming, local, and full of personality. But that food??? Honey... hush. HOT!!!!! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked with intention. The kind of meal that has you quiet at the table for a second because you need to focus. Every bite made sense. They know what they're doing up in there!!! This place is a gem. Comfortable, soulful, and confidently good. I left full, happy, and slightly offended there isn't one of these in Texas. I'll absolutely be back. Wait for me Zaca!!
