I really like the Brown Bag Sandwich. This is a must visit spot if you are craving a delicious sandwich. It's a small spot with limited seating, and I have heard it usually has a long line. I was lucky enough that I visited during a slower time. I ordered the spicy chopped cheese, which is a chopped cheese with hot peppers and hot sauce. OMG! The sandwich was enormous. I know you can get a chopped cheese in any deli or bodega in the city, but this one was truly delicious, and you get to watch them prepare it right in front of you. They also offer chopped versions of other sandwiches.

This was my first time visiting Brown Bag Sandwich and I ordered two sandwiches. I ordered the Italian Sandwich and the Turkey Club sandwich. The sandwiches were good and the service was quick. I will return to try other sandwich options on the menu. I also learned that there is another location in Flatiron.

Small location for quick to go bag and couple of seats. Service was nice and quick but got the staple of a chopped cheese. Overall good size portion and delcious- solid chopped cheese and recommend

I have a high bar for Chicken Caesar Wraps and this one does really hit the spot. It is on the pricier side for a wrap but truly it is massive, so it can def be split into two meals or shared between friends. There isn't much seating in the restaurant itself, but that really doesn't matter because you should take it and eat it in Washington Square Park anyway. A great picnic food!

I came here with my friend to pick up sandwiches on a Tuesday evening. There's not really any seating inside, so we took our sandwiches to-go. I had the marinated eggplant and stracciatella sandwich, which had chimichurri marinated eggplant, red pepper romesco, stracciatella, and arugula and was served on a sesame Italian hero. The sandwich was, simply put, wet and sloppy. The bread was great, but the flavor of vinegar was so overwhelming and I felt like I made the wrong choice when ordering. I would come back to try something else.

Spicy chopped cheese was definitely spicy, but I liked it a lot. Would say it wasn't loaded with meat like it should be but it was very cheesy and saucy. Surprisingly not too heavy. Not the best sandwich I've had but definitely hits the spot.

Ordered three sandwiches for delivery, but they couldn't find someone to deliver so we waited an hour to eat our sandwiches. I'm not sure if that's why I feel our sandwiches were beyond soggy but when I opened them io to eat them, they didn't even look appetizing. I maybe should've ordered something else ? My eggplant sandwich felt super oily and I didn't end up finishing it. I would want to try something completely different next time

I loved the vibe kn this little deli.we were greeted with a smile and I think they realized how hungry my teen was after her performance at the bitter end and they offered her a brownie and a pickle. The chicken ceasar was delicious and the Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. Try this little gem if you are in the area.

Ordered: Chopped Cheese Sandwich (~$14): Ground Beef, Onions, Lawry's Seasoning, American Cheese, Tomato, Shredded Iceberg, Bodega Sauce on a Sesame Hero Aya's take: Brown Bag Sandwich Co is already pretty popular but for those not aware, chef Antonio Barbieri, who was previously at Eleven Madison Park, is the brains behind this concept. The interior is small, with only 6 hightop seats available. As a New Yorker, I knew I had to try the Chopped Cheese Sandwich. They also threw in a pickle which is always a welcomed extra! The bread is super fresh and soft; it kept the sandwich intact despite all the wet ingredients. This was very cheesy which of course tasted great but I couldn't really taste the quality or Lawry's seasoning in the ground beef. There's plenty of shredded iceberg lettuce which added a fresh crunch but it does slightly overpower the sandwich. Big fan of the bodega sauce and my only regret is not getting the spicy version of this sandwich! It's a well-made Chopped Cheese but it needed an additional element here which I think could've been accomplished with some hot peppers & hot sauce. Glad I got to try it!

Great service, delicious food, casual ambiance! Antonio at the cashier is incredibly kind and very humble about the success of this cute place. I tried the chopped cheese sandwich that comes warm and it was the perfect sandwich to eat on this fall day. It tastes very fresh and they prepare it from scratch very quickly. I also tried the house Mac salad and that was a perfect compliment to the sandwich. I will definitely be back!

Today I stopped by Brown Bag Sandwich Co. with my son, and it's the kind of place that reminds you how serious New York takes its sandwiches. Everything there is built around one idea: great ingredients make a great sandwich. Instead of cutting corners, they focus on quality and even make a lot of things themselves to make sure every bite is right. The menu is stacked with favorites. Their chopped cheese is one of the most talked-about sandwiches in the shop, and for good reason. Another standout is the hot roast beef and cheddar--simple, savory, and packed with flavor. They're also proud of their New York-style chicken Caesar wrap, made with romaine, Parmesan, croutons, shredded chicken, and a strong Caesar dressing that ties everything together. It's a short ingredient list, but every part matters. If you want something classic, the Italian hero brings together prosciutto, soppressata, sharp provolone, mozzarella, tomato, red onion, cherry peppers, lettuce, and Italian dressing on toasted bread. The roast beef sandwich is another heavy hitter, layered with their housemade sweet-and-tangy sauce, au jus-dipped roast beef, cheddar sauce, and fried onions. One cool detail: their new pastrami sandwich comes on a custom rye hero made with Breads Bakery, so you still get that classic rye flavor in hero form. Even the way they chop the sandwiches has a purpose--everything gets chopped in a bowl so the ingredients mix together better, giving every bite the same flavor. What I liked most is that the place feels very New York. It's built to honor the classic sandwich shops that came before it while still doing its own thing. The goal is simple: make sandwiches people trust, come back for, and maybe even add to their personal "top ten." And honestly, grabbing a great sandwich there with my son today... mission accomplished.

Finally came here after the hype went down and could get in at around 4pm on a weekday for a very late lunch. I got the turkey club sandwich and wow it was delicious. The bread was soft but warm, lightly toasted, and the sandwich was STUFFED. It was also a little spicy thanks to the hot honey which was a nice touch and it was not your regular turkey club. They really took a basic usually uninspiring sandwich and made it something that I'm salivating thinking about having again. I hope they continue to have a lot of success, I want to go back to try their caesar chicken sandwich as well, which is something they were kind of blowing up for months ago. There's a few seats by the window you can grab if that's your vibe. It's bigger than you think but it's not a huge space.

"Elevated" bodega sandwiches are what's promised here, and you can tell they do have solid attention to detail, but the execution is a bit hit or miss. Brown Bag has simple counter service and NYC deli classics such as chopped cheeses, Italian heroes, and chopped Caesar wraps. I got the hot roast beef ($18) which features roast beef in au jus. You can tell the meat quality was good but there was one problem: the sandwich was absurdly salty. Like, bordering on inedible salty for someone who enjoys a healthy dose of sodium in their sandwich. For an 18 dollar sandwich I found it pretty upsetting. All that being said I'd be willing to come back and try something else. I assume the saltiness was not intentional and I can see the vision here.

It seemed mayo-based, and the flavor came across more like a sweet honey mayo than a bold Sichuan mala. 4/10. Ordering was quick through the walk-up window, and there are benches outside for seating. It took about 20 minutes for the wrap to come out. The wait for the Duck Tsangwich was around an hour, so we skipped it this time, but we'll definitely be back to try it.

Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
