Newly opened restaurant, replacing a previously closed down one at this same location. Oak house has few other locations. We were able to reserve a table few minutes before the restaurant opening hours on Saturday afternoon. Plenty of parking right next to the restaurant. The restaurant has beautiful exterior and equally nice interior. Wonderful ambiance, huge spacious bar and well designed dining area. The menu is well curated, not over blown with too many items. We tried the mussels, that came with bread, excellent dish served in juicy tomato soup like broth. For entree we had brozino and spicy shrimp risotto. Both were fantastic. Branzino had vegetables and crab meat, a well balanced dish. Risotto was creamy, with whole shrimp on top, and chunks of it mixed in the risotto. It wasn't overly spicy, but had enough kick. We ordered few drinks, that were well made. We ended up ordering them again. Servers and stuff were very nice. The ambiance and decor were absolutely gorgeous, corner bench seat was super comfy, and our service was excellent! That is so important to me. The food had generous portions and was delicious! Appetizer: Calamari was nicely seasoned and everyone enjoyed, but it was too greasy for me so I can't recommend Dinners: I loved my half chicken! So juicy and flavorful and falling off the bone. Everything about our dine-in experience was absolutely fantastic and right off the bat, can't wait to go back. For starters, the ambience, decor, seating... all of it was beautiful. Dramatic lighting, rustic, and clean. We sat at a booth by the bar area and it was neither noisy nor a hassle to be served. We had a few cocktails and couldn't be happier with them. The food itself was timely, hot, and a little unique in its own way: the mozzarella sticks are as good as it looks / everyone says. It was so light & crispy, yet the cheese was perfectly melted. Started with French Onion Soup no bread and a crisp on the Cheese and it was perfectly executed with the crisped cheese placed atop the soup and not at the bottom of the soup bowl which usually occurs when ordered without bread. Kudos to staff. Colossal Shrimp Cocktail was good but not as good as it usually is. Shrimp were not Colossal and were 13-15's at best and lacked their normal pop and flavor. Up next was the Prime Rib Prefix Dinner served with a slightly thickened A jus, Mash Potatoes, Salad, and Dessert. The 16 oz Prime Rib was seasoned and prepared medium rare to perfection, Mash Potatoes could have been more mashed and creamier but had real potato flavor and with some melted butter and fork action, I did the fix table side and wha la creamy yummy potatoes. Blue Cheese Dressing for the salad needed some blue cheese crumble. Tiramisu Dessert was amazing. I am a fan of this restaurant and some other menu items that I can highly recommend are the outstanding all lump crab cakes, prime rib sliders, smashed burger, short ribs, and the triple fudge brownie served hot with a very creamy delightful ice cream. At the Oak House I have experienced pleasant service oriented staff, sophisticated but casual environment, and excellent food which is reasonably priced. Listen, I liked the vibe and the new layout & decor - it all started out good. I ordered a salad for dinner and my guest ordered a burger. My salad came out relatively quickly. I was waiting for his burger to come out to start my meal. 10 mins passed, 20...half hour...maybe at 35 mins the burger finally came to the table. I'm not a picky customer and pretty patient. The real problem was that our server just avoided our table the entire time, no eye contact, no communication whatsoever. Mistakes happen, but just saying nothing and not offering a glass of wine, dessert on the house or removing something from the check is a big miss and would have gone a long way. After saying we wanted to try this place for a while, we decided to come here for dinner one night over Christmas break. I made reservations the day of, and not that many times were available but we don't mind eating late. When we arrived, it was valet parking. When we entered, the place was nicely decorated for Christmas with lots of garland. first impression when we walked in with the ambience was really nice and I loved the decor l. When you walk in the bar is to your left and it was a nice size. We would definitely go back and have a drink and apps (or maybe their happy hour) at the bar. Service was great. Our waiter (I believe his name was Mike) was really attentive. I like how he first took our appetizer order and then later came back for our entrees. To start we spilt the BLT salad which was huge. It had so much blue cheese in it and was delicious. I wish we ordered it without onions since we aren't the biggest raw onion fans. For an entree my husband had the steak sandwich which was soo good. The fries were addictive. They were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the Chilean sea bass which was cooked perfectly and had a nice caramelized crust on top. I didn't love the butternut squash risotto it came with, it was a little too much cinnamon and apple tasting for my liking. But the fish was so good, I didn't mind. The interior was beautiful, a big difference from the former Charley Brown's restaurant that was there before COVID. The tables at the front section of the establishment were high tops, and those at the back were lower. We had an amazing waitress, Amanda, who was very kind and professional, as well as an attentive and friendly wait staff. The food we ordered was delicious, sizable, and not too pricey. We sat in the back room, which was nicely decorated for the holiday. I ordered an expresso martini and it was very good. We split the homemade mozz sticks and calamari as apps. I was told to come here specifically for the mozz sticks and they did not disappoint--great cheese pull, seasoning was good and the marinara was sweet and savory. The calamari was okay, good crisp but it wasn't my favorite. For our mains, we both ordered the steak sandwich with truffle fries. The sandwich was soo yummy, we both took half home and a good portion of the fries which were delicious and crispy. Our waitress was very attentive and everything came out in a timely manner. Drinks are overpriced for sure. &16 for a lychee martini. Service, sadly, is terrible. We sat with dirty plates in front of us for at least 20+ minutes. I really love that the oak house has come to our little neighborhood! First of all, it's beautiful inside! They spent a lot of effort making the space feel cozy and earthy - I especially love the giant photo of Anthony Bourdain! The children's chicken and fries is delicious! Wedge with Danish blue cheese, bacon, Campari tomato, onion, blue cheese dressing was very good and enough for 2 to share. --The Hot Honey Pizza with Ezzo pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce, hot honey drizzle was good. Not too spicy. Enough for 2 to share. Entrees- I had the 16oz. Delmonico Rib Eye served with a little watercress salad and some french fries. It was cooked to medium rare perfection although there was a little too much fat along the edges. (some is OK, this needed a bit more trimming) --Spicy Rigatoni with Calabrian pepper cream sauce, fresh burrata & basil was done very well. --Berkshire Pork Milanese served in a Panko crust, with arugula & red onion salad, with house dressing & Parmesan was huge; it covered the plate. Very good too. We were told all desserts are made in house. We tried apiece of the Special Butternut squash cheesecake which was OK, but I think we should have had the coconut tres leches cake. This was our second time dining here. I convinced my family to give it another shot after slow service the first time. Well, this time will be our last. 3:15 reservation, so definitely not a busy time. After we were seated, it was minimum of 15 minutes before i was able to even make eye contact with a staff member to get a server. The bus boy disappeared and 5 minutes later a server came and took our full order-drink, apps, and dinner. Unacceptable to wait as long as we did but I was hungry and looking forward to forgetting this bad start with some better service. Apps and children's meal came out together- wonderful. I like that the kids could eat. It was almost 50 minutes before my husband and I received our dinners though! And it was sandwiches nothing crazy! I asked the waitress not once but twice about the order and she apologized saying she would check on it that it wouldn't be long. The second time she said the kitchen was backed up (again middle of day not busy). Insane! We packed the remains of our dinner to go and asked for the bill. It took forever for the bill to arrive! At that point I asked for a manager because the other option was to just walk out without paying. The manager took forever to arrive too! When he did show up, he was rude and unwilling to take ownership of the horrible service time we received. Never again. Read the reviews. Seems hit or miss. A lot of the 1 and 2 stars are because of poor service so this is a common theme here. Very sad because we are local and I was giving it a second chance. There will not be a third chance. read more

The Oak House has replaced the Old Charlie Browns restaurant in Oradell. It's a much needed eatery in an area with limited sit down choices. The Bar was pack with people engaged in lively conversation at the bar and booths. There's a large dining area so don't be discouraged when you drive by and see a full parking lot. Which is one of the downsides, there's not enough parking to hold even a 1/2 full restaurant (was also an issue with Brown's). For dinner we started with Fried Calamari, Mozzarella Sticks, and Burrata every thing came out very quickly and was hot. I enjoyed the Calamari very much. For Dinner we had the Hot Honey Pizza, Lasagna Rollatini, Ribs, and Baked Chicken. Again everything came out quickly and was hot. We all enjoyed our meals and portions were all good especially the Lasagna which could be shared. The lone exception was the Pizza which was flatbread size and at $17 I'd skip in the future. Desserts are $10 and we had the brownie and tres leches cake. The brownie was large and could be shared it came out hot with a scoop of ice cream. Drinks are all over $10 except for beer. The oak house is a good neighborhood restaurant for occasional dining due to the prices. A couple having a full meal can easily spend $150+ read more

We tried this place for the first time today and learned a lot . first the hostesses were super nice and tried to find a table that was quieter but that was impossible. the noise level in the place is ridiculous And you have to shout over it if you have any chance of conversation . my apple watch was warning me the whole time that the decibel level was dangerous and it was miserable. the server was nice but not organized but it is a new place so that's ok. it was almost impossible to talk to him though because of the immense noise the food however was extremely slow to come but very good. portions were not generous but ok. probably a bit on the skimpy side but not bad overall it was good food but no way i would go back. i literally wore earplugs the whole time. also there was a manager walking around like a drone. it's good he was taking an interest i guess but he could have smiled and asked people how they were doing and enjoying their time . i'm read more

Jess who is the owner made it easy to organize everything. She is very helpful and offers suggestions and replacements, she works hard to get you what you want.
