The chicken Milanese appeared to have been deep fried in a fryer rather than pan fried per tradition. This made the thin slices a bit tough and chewy which was unexpected. Disappointing that I didn't listen to my server who tried to steer me in a different direction as he advised. We haven't been wowed here the last three visits but will give it another shot in a few weeks to see if things have changed for the better. Listen to your servers, people!!

Next both of us got The Godfather sandwich with added chopped bacon... it came out undercooked in some parts of the meat hut after the face for sending back the nachos, I sucked it up and just ate the edible parts... in addition to this though, they don't serve it closed. It is not an open faced sandwich, but served open-faced...not terrible, but just weird to me. Probably to prevent room on the plate for more fries to be added. So now the meal has ended, we ask for the check and notice a couple of unusual charges... I had 2 Belvedere and 7up w a lime and my wife had two Spicy Margaritas. We were each charged $25.00 for our 2 drinks...no issues...where it gets nutty is the additional separate charges listed vaguely at $7 and $4. Now the complaint isn't about cost per se, but rather the sneakiness and seemingly dishonest approach by the bartender that was unnecessary. My wife questioned the charges and we were told some nonsense about having to up charge because it was a larger glass for a margarita and it doesn'tcome in a smaller glass...WTF? First off, she didn't ask for a larger glass. Next, why isn't there just a charge for a margarita at one price? If you only serve it in one size, why do you need an up charge on a taller glass? That was the explanation for the 7.00 charge, 3.50 for each drink she had. The 4.00 charge I couldnt even make sense out of ... she explained that it was because margarita's have more than 1 liquor so she had to add an additional liquor fee. What in the holy hell is going on with the pricing for this drink???? So now as far as I can understand we have a $12.50 FLAT fee for a margarita according to its initial charge on the check. Then 3.50 extra for each drink because it is served ONLY in a pint glass... and a $2.00 per drink for extra liquor because more than 1 type of alcohol was put in the Margarita... so now a $12.50 Margarita on the menu becomes an 18 dollar upsell when no one asked for anything larger or additional, other than the way it should be poured according to the drink menu... it was sneaky, underhanded and it made us feel like we were targeted as unsuspecting patrons who wouldn't be back again and the upcharge didn't matter. Well she was right and wrong... wrong that it doesn't matter and was not wrong to do, but she was right that we won't be back again

The Benedict was tasty, but the English muffin was a bit overcooked and we were expecting a bit more short rib on the plate. Service was attentive despite how busy it was. Our server checked in on us regularly, and when they noticed we were going through a lot of water, they kindly left a pitcher at the table, which was very appreciated. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially during peak hours, but they do utilize a nearby convenience store lot for additional parking, which helps. They also have a great-looking dessert case, but we were way too full to try anything this time--hopefully next visit. No hello, no Happy Mother's Day, no "your server will be with you shortly." It then took about 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee and we had to ask to be waited on We placed our food order at the same time, and about 20 minutes later the waitress came back and asked us to confirm what we ordered. Needless to say, everything took forever after that, including getting the check. We were in the diner for about an hour and a half. Everyone understands restaurants can be busy on Mother's Day, but it wasn't busy when we got there, and even when places are busy, no one should be spending an hour and a half in a diner for breakfast. What's disappointing is that this is actually the second time we've been there since the renovation, and unfortunately we had the same experience with the service both times. From now on, we'll gladly take the extra 20-minute ride to the River Edge Diner in River Edge. The service, food, and staff there are excellent, and you actually feel welcome and happy to be there. Food here was OK, but the service and overall experience were disappointing. We will not be going back.

WOW - cancel next weekend's plans. You must dine at Adelaide. On a weekend visiting my in-laws, and with the reassurance my 11-month-old was fast asleep and cared for by his doting grandparents, my husband and I decide to venture to Adelaide for our first dinner out since our 1-year anniversary. The ambience is pristine. I enter a well-appointed foyer where a young and friendly hostess greets me and hands me a cocktail menu. She takes my overcoat and with it, all the stress building over the course of a much-too-long workweek. We peruse the cocktail menu and unwind at the intimate 7-seat bar, where bartenders provide everything from light conversation to suggestions about which libations to order; we have found respite here. I am enjoying myself and wonder what's different? How could I already be enjoying myself before I've even had a morsel of food or a drop of drink? I realize -- I can not only hear myself think but also hear my husband speak at a normal volume. The background music is perfect because it is just that -- playing in the background. I hum along to the tune and my "French Pain Killer" is ready. One sip and I know it'll be my regular drink. I get ready to order another when my husband nudges me; our table is ready. It feels too soon! I am escorted by a strapping young waiter to our table. It is there that I realize the lighting is perfect -- just bright enough yet I can read the menu without whipping out a phone flashlight, and warm enough that I do not feel as though I have entered a room with LED surgical floodlights. My husband and I order everything on the menu - and cannot decide which dish is our favorite. The bread is divine and it takes every ounce of self discipline to stop myself from eating every last crumb of that stuff, which I learn is baked in house daily. Luckily, the pasta arrives and I do not fill up on the fresh bread (though I don't think it would've been so bad to do that). The pasta is full of flavor in the very first bite. Immediately, I am sad that social convention requires that I share some of it with my husband. To my great fortune, more dishes start coming out. Our terrific waiter Trevor educates us about each one and each is more delicious than the last. I start to feel full and become disappointed I will not have enough room to try every dessert. I recently tried Adelaide which absolutely blew away my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt intentional and thoughtfully crafted. The first thing you notice is the open kitchen concept. Being able to watch the chefs work adds an entirely new level of appreciation for the meal. I would say this is something foreign to the Bergen County scene. This immediately changes the game. What truly set this place apart, though, was the staff. The service was incredibly attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Every recommendation felt genuine and every plate was explained with enthusiasm. You can tell the team takes real pride in what they do. I am not sure the specific backgrounds of the staff, but it felt as though they had worked together for years even though the Adelaide has only been open for several weeks. The menu is carefully curated and thoughtfully designed so that every dish feels purposeful. Each bite reflected quality ingredients and balanced flavors, making it hard to choose a favorite. Whether you're planning a cozy date night or gathering the family for a special evening out, this spot strikes the perfect balance between elevated and welcoming. It's the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. P.S. There's also a staircase that seems to climb up toward additional tables above the main eating area, almost like it's leading you to a hidden dining experience. I had an incredible experience here. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. When we walked in it honestly took a good ten minutes just to take in the scenery and the atmosphere. The space is stunning and immediately sets the tone for the meal. The food was spectacular across the board. The golden beet starter was stellar and I loved how the different ingredients complemented each other and came together in a really balanced way. The tomato bisque was delicious. I personally love bright acidic flavors and this was exactly the kind of flavor profile I enjoy. The half roast chicken was phenomenal. The quality of the chicken was clearly top tier and the texture and flavor of the crusted skin were absolute perfection. My favorite dish of the night was the mushroom fettuccine. The sauce was incredible and the mushrooms themselves were cooked beautifully and full of flavor. One surprise highlight was the non alcoholic white tea drink. I normally would not go out of my way for a non alcoholic alternative but this was genuinely amazing and easily a ten out of ten. The service was also excellent. The staff were very kind and attentive and were extremely helpful when my friend and I were trying to decide what to order. I loved the whole vibe of the restaurant....the decor is warm and inviting, the entire staff is AMAZING and the food is simply delicious! You can tell that only the finest ingredients are used to prepare the dishes. Starting off, the focaccia was so good especially with the tomato butter. The beet salad was beyond tasty and the pasta course was so fresh and fabulous! I did decide to go with the Adelaide Burger for my main dish and I have to say it really was one of the BEST burgers I have ever had! It was just SO GOOD!! What an absolutely amazing experience at Adelaide! I had the pleasure of dining upstairs to celebrate a birthday and felt the staff, food, drink and ambiance really made this celebration special. Our wait staff had a clear understanding of the food, being able to make good recommendations and wine pairings. They were more than attentive and made our table feel like we were the only ones there despite it being fully booked. The cocktails and food were both delicious. As an at home cook myself, I really enjoy being able to go out and have meals/flavors that I wouldn't normally have at home. Adelaide definitely was that. I see a negative review from a while ago but service is excellent! Our waiter was great! The owner stopped by to say hi. Just awesome! We started off with the flatbread and Stracciatella. It was so tasty and flavorful! Two of us had the steak which was excellent and one of us had the scallops which was excellent as well. Recommend all. Even the chocolate cake for dessert was yummy. Our server and the entire staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel completely taken care of. As for the food -- absolutely immaculate! We started with the focaccia and beets, both of which disappeared in about three minutes. We then enjoyed two of the house made pastas which were incredibly fresh and full of flavor. Best Pork Cutlet I've Ever Had! I just had an incredible meal at Adelaide in Woodcliff Lake. The stunning open kitchen gives the whole place such a great buzz and yet incredibly welcoming. A huge thanks to the hostess, wait and bar staff for being so friendly and making us feel right at home. The food is unbelievably fresh. First of all, the restaurant is beautiful inside. The Open Kitchen concept is great and the bar elevates the space as well. As for the food, you could tell there was a lot of thought put into the menu. Although small it is seasonal and rotates often. Everything we had was delicious. I wish there were more of these cute little red gems! It was the first time anyone at our table saw them. It reminded me slightly of a slightly smoky ripe cherry tomato. Delicious!! I ate the almost the entire dish and ordered a side of truffle mashed potatoes. I was very satisfied with my main entree and the black truffle mashed were also delicious even though the chef didn't know what region they were from. (A truffle hunter told us to always ask the chef what region they are from to ensure they are authentic and not oil or fake lab grown because they have to certify the region they came from before exporting them.) TMI I know but if you're a foodie you might appreciate this knowledge. For appetizer, the table ordered the filet ravioli....I liked the Brown sauce and greenery it was served with but wish they included more green beans. The meat was cut in large pieces inside the ravioli and was very tender. It was unique. Save some bread for the sauce. Hub had the dry aged steak and thought it was too thin and meh for the price. He's picky AF so that that with a grain of salt. I think he was expecting the meat to be like Cafe panache or a steak house and it was not so he won't get that again. I didn't try it and I saw him get it down to the bone so I think he enjoyed it anyway. Dessert was a delish apple tart that was on fire with vanilla ice cream and garnished with delicious berries. There were a few chewy spots from the topping but I would absolutely get this again. The filling was perfect with sautéd apples with cinnamon. Be careful when taking your first bite!!! It's hot from the oven! Hub burnt his mouth. Regarding the service there are opportunities. First, it was extremely challenging to get a glass of water. Second, the first waiter forgot half the specials (but to be fair I forgot too because they were super complex and I can't even remember after eating it!!) The second waitress said all the specials and placed our order. I asked her for tap water that never came...asked again and after 30 min I asked again and this time a bottle of water came that was not tap water. Fine. I didn't send it back because I was so thirsty. This water ran out and then i finally got the tap water bottle from the guy but I could def taste the difference. If I come back again I'll will get the bottled water because something tasted off with the tap water. I wanted to ask for lemon to make it palatable but felt like I was being annoying because they were busy and it was impossible to get another refill. But it was getting late and they started clanking the silverware and turning up the lights and I'm sure everyone wanted to go home so that's fair. There was an amazing server that took the time to take multiple pictures of our group. He even stood on a chair to ensure we got a good shot. I appreciated this extra effort. For ambiance it's a nice place to go on a date or with a small group it kinda gave me NYC vibes as a nice lively atmosphere but it does get noisy and it can be hard to hear. I would have liked to hear the light French background music over the noise because you can hear it well in the restroom. Overall a lovely dining experience in NJ.

The gnocchi was delicious with the sauce but could have been hotter it unfortunately came out lukewarm. The pork chop Milanese was presented beautifully and had good flavor, but it felt like it was missing something (maybe a little more spice or citrus to complement the Asian slaw on top). Overall the service was great, but food was only good and extremly pricey for the portion sizes. I'm hoping the restaurant succeeds, and I'd like to go back and try some different dishes.

I went with the cod special over Seasonal corn. The corn was tasteless. The cod was cooked perfectly although it did lack a little bit of flavor and we shared the iceberg salad for an appetizer, which was good, but nothing special. The prices were reasonable we decided to pass up on the dessert and take a walk down the main Avenue in Westwood and find some ice cream . I believe it was the male owner that did stop by after we finish dinner to check on us. He was very pleasant.
