    Lobster Bisque, Wedge Salad

Celebrated my birthday at Swift & Sons Steakhouse, and it was the perfect choice for a special night out. The ambiance set the tone with it being elegant, warm, and inviting. The service was attentive and consistent throughout the evening, which made the experience even better! The lobster bisque stood out to me with its flavor and the presentation while the wedge salad was crisp and refreshing, it gave balance to the richer dishes. My favorite was definitely the scallops paired with potatoes and a flavorful sauce! They were cooked perfectly and seasoned!

Swift & Sons looks and feels like a high-end steakhouse. The ambiance is genuinely beautiful and classy, warm lighting, spacious, great layout. The staff were also super friendly and professional throughout the night. No complaints on the service side. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the setting or the price tag. My steak was cooked to temp but it was totally bland. It didn't even have salt or nothing it was very weird. The sides were fine but unremarkable and didn't make up for the lack of the main dish. For the cost, I was expecting something more memorable, but instead it tasted like a generic steakhouse experience dressed up in lighting and good service. Would've preferred to spend my money anywhere else. If you're going for the vibes that's fine. However, the food was disappointing.

    Watermelon salad. Sooooooo good.

Incredibly friendly and attentive service. I had a crab cake and watermelon salad. The watermelon salad will live in my memory forever. My partner had the wagyu burger and fries. The burger was as good as one would expect. The motif and ambiance were mid century with an industrial flair. Very relaxing, cozy and charming.

The steak and the signature complementary sauces were delicious, the cocktails and cocktail were super tasty and fresh. The overall ambience is dim and romantic and cross between upscale and a little bit casual. Service is very quick and professional.

Came here for Restaurant Week 2026 and was not disappointed. No steak on the RW menu but I was still pleased with everything offered. The food was delicious and there was a good variety to select from. I liked that it was a 4 course offering (vs 3 courses at the 60$ price point.) The ambiance and design of the restaurant itself is so classy. Our server was also amazing and gave excellent recommendations to our table. We shall see if I return to try the regular menu at any point - I'm not a huge steakhouse person, but getting to try the food through RW has made me more inclined to come back.

Top 5 dead or alive! This place is absolutely amazing, for my money the best steakhouse in Chicago. The service was great, the food excellent, it's definitely my new go to special occasion restaurant. I can't recommend this place enough and make sure you bring your Amex lol.

We visited Swift and Sons for our anniversary dinner! We were quite impressed with the special touches and level of service. After making the reservation, the restaurant reached out to my partner to ask for details so they could make it extra special. This included customized menus to take home, a signed card, and a "happy 4th anniversary" message written on our dessert. It's the little things that really elevated the experience! Now the food -- we are big steak eaters and we were very happy with our steaks. We both did New York Strips. Our server let us know that the menu was organized from most tender, which was super helpful. It was, in fact, super tender and perfectly cooked with a great crust. Great flavor and plenty juicy. We went with two sides to share but we probably would've been fine with just one -- we ended up taking half of each home. I thought the mushrooms especially paired very well with the meat. We did the deep dish cookie for dessert and it was a smaller dessert than some of the others (the cheesecake slice that our neighboring table got was HUGE) but we were honestly so full that it was a good size for us. It was warm and extra choclate-y, super good. In the future I'd be interested in the sweets cart, and I'm intrigued by the magic show option, but wasn't something we wanted to do based on our table location. Maybe next time! I also enjoyed the decor, overall vibe, and volume level. It was definitely busy but not too loud and still felt intimate. I was very happy with my partner's selection to spend our special evening here! Overall a great evening!

If I could give a 3.5 I would, but since I can't I leaned 3 more than 4. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but for what you're paying my expectations were it was going to be great. The bisque was very tasty with a couple small pieces of lobster. My entree, seared scallops, was were I was a little disappointed. The grapes in it, made the entire dish very sweet, which is a little odd to me with scallops. Service is a bit over the top literally filling our waters the minute we took one drink and asking us what we wanted to order every 2 minutes. It's a romantic dinner, give us some space every once in a while. My wife got a filet, and it was excellent, maybe if I got that it would be a 4 or 5.

Finally made it into Swift & Sons for the first time tonight and yeaaaaa, i've been missing out. The vibe in there is exactly what you want for a night out in Fulton Market: upscale and "fancy," but actually really relaxing once you sit down. The food was honestly incredible. We had a group of 4 and we split the 48oz Porterhouse and it was massive and perfectly charred. But the real sleeper hit for me was the Thai Banana Sour. I wasn't sure what to expect with those flavors, but it was so good I'm still thinking about it today. We also loved the Pierogies, definitely order those if you go. Our server Ariel was a total rockstar. She was super friendly and kept everything moving perfectly without hovering. We were having such a good time and felt so at home that we actually stayed for a few extra drinks after we finished eating just to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Seriously pleasant experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back soon! Would love if Swift and Sons would acknowledge this review as I hope this shoutout to the service and Ariel wont go unnoticed!

I seriously can't remember the last time I had a meal as memorable as the one at Swift & Sons Steakhouse. This is absolutely the kind of place where people take business clients when the company's picking up the tab. But even if you're paying out of pocket, Swift & Sons delivers a meal so delicious, hearty, and well-executed, that it feels worth every penny. From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable--on-par with Michelin restaurants I've dined at in the past. Our diningware was replaced between courses, and the pacing of the meal was thoughtful and unrushed. Nothing was brought out until we were ready, and every interaction with the staff felt polished and professional. The meal kicked off with a bread course that set the tone for the night. The focaccia was incredibly light and fluffy, the butter perfectly seasoned with flaky salt, and the cheddar biscuit had a nice subtle heat to it. Easily some of the best bread we've had at a restaurant. For drinks, I ordered the Stone Fruit Old Fashioned, which combined Evan Williams with cherry, apricot, peach, and peach bitters. It was beautifully balanced--not too sweet, not too strong--and a fun twist on a classic. Whether you want something classic, something simple, or something a bit more photogenic (i.e. an Old Fashioned made table-side on a bar cart), you have plenty of options. As a starter, we shared the crab cakes, which were absolutely phenomenal. Unlike many places that bulk them up with filler like eggs and bread crumbs, these let the crab shine. They were meaty, well-seasoned, and topped with a celery root garnish that added a satisfying crunch. A true 5/5 dish. We also had the chicory salad with apple, pickled ramps, brie, and guanciale. It was beautifully composed, with a mix of textures and flavors--tangy, crunchy, savory, and sweet. We especially appreciated how generous they were with the cubes of brie. It was the perfect light course before diving into our main course. A helpful note for first-timers: you can order half portions of both salads and sides. My wife and I wanted to try both the mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes but knew full portions would be too much. Being able to do halves meant we didn't have to choose--and both sides were excellent. Our main course was the dish Swift & Sons is known for: the beef Wellington for two. Once our hostess mentioned it, we knew we had to try it. The pastry was golden and flaky, the beef cooked to a perfect medium-rare from end to end, and the sauce was rich, deeply savory, and seasoned just right. It was easily one of the best executions of Wellington we've ever had. If you're in Chicago, Swift & Sons Steakhouse is a must. Yes, it's pricey--but it's 110% worth it. Every detail, from the service to the food to the ambiance, makes it a truly special dining experience. It's the kind of place that's perfect for a special occasion--whether you're celebrating something big or just want to treat yourself to a memorable night out, it's absolutely worth the splurge.

This place was truly special! We had a reservation but got there a bit early and sat at the bar. We had a cocktail and it was so good! Soon we sat at our table and had crab cakes for an appetizer, my husband had steak and lobster bisque soup and he said it was the best soup he's ever had. Steak was great too! I really wanted their beef Wellington but it only comes in a serving for two. I asked the server if one person could finish it and he said it's a serving for like 1 adult and 1 small child. I ordered it and it was huge! Haha! Naturally I could o my finish half. They serve it tableside; cut it and pour gravy over it, the beef welllington was out of this world!!!! Absolutely amazing! We would for sure come back! Highly recommend a reservation, they were so busy. The window is stunning and huge. Very fancy place.

Anyone who has ever looked to have a steakhouse dinner in the city knows there are a ton of options. Swift and Sons ended up being the choice I made for my dad and sister visiting me in the city for the first time. I was able to make a reservation for 4 online for a Saturday night dinner time slot without issue (this is not like Bavette's reservations - yet!). We had a 7:30 reservation and we were able to very easily utilize the valet when we pulled up just a few minutes early. Valet was so great, so nice, and will absolutely utilize again in the future. Staff greeted us and we had no wait with our reservation booked. We were sat in the dining room at a table in a far corner, half booth and half chairs. Plenty of space at the table. Staff were friendly but service here is very ... relaxed in the sense that they are certainly not rushing you through your meal. We had put in our order for an appetizer and the appetizer came out and we were fully finished before our steaks were ordered, and I would say in general we were waiting for our server to come back at some points with how drawn out service was. I was surprised at this especially considering the amount of time some steak options can take for dinner (I'm looking at you, beef wellington). We started with the Potato and Ricotta Pierogi for the table. I know this is not a typical potato offering from a steakhouse, but I could eat approximately one million of these and still crave more. This was the most delicious bite of a pierogi I've ever had, they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, we all but licked the plate clean. The menu has options as such that anyone can find a dish they like here. My sister ordered the stuffed chicken schnitzel - this was an insane portion size. If you want to make sure you leave absolutely stuffed to the gills with only one menu item - this will do it. So authentic, fresh, and delicious. The leftovers here definitely made the journey home. My dad ordered an 8oz filet, and my partner and I split the Beef Wellington. I believe this is one of, if not the only, wellington you can get in the city, and there was no swaying me from this choice. We also ordered some sides a la carte for the table to share: creamed spinach, roasted mushrooms, and white cheddar mac and cheese. Where to start - there are no bad bites from what we ordered. I could rave about this Beef Wellington until my very last breath. This is such a special meal and anyone who has grown up watching Gordon Ramsey should be able to try one! It was rich, it was luxurious, filling, more than enough food for two to share with sides. My dad's steak certainly didn't make it to the doggie bag, absolutely melting with each bite. The spinach was classic, creamy, and tasted house made! The mushrooms a very classic steakhouse pairing and also disappeared quickly. The mac was delicious, super filling and probably the least remarkable thing we ordered, but it was so good too! I love being in the city and Swift and Sons was an amazing steakhouse experience. I hope they continue to thrive in a city with many steakhouse options. Be prepared for the experience to not be a quick in and out (we were there for over two hours enjoying our meal), but that created such a deep night of memories for my family and I. Thank you so much Swift and Sons for a magical family dinner.

    The Beef Wellington was awesome!!

We had a reservation for 4 people on a Friday for dinner and had no issues getting seated. Food: The TLDR of this meal is it is the best one I've been to recently in terms of quality, quantity, and price. I HIGHLY recommend the Beef Wellington! My husband and I shared it, and while it didn't have as much mushroom flavor as I was looking for, the beef was cooked perfectly and had a very nice meaty flavor. The crispy and flaky puff pastry was the cherry on top! That being said, the Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts were also delicious - I'm convinced you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! We also loved our Spanish wine :) Ambiance: this is a cute and classy date spot. It's lively while also not super loud, and is fairly busy so if you're coming here in a larger group I'd recommend a reservation. I've always wanted to come and grab a drink at the bar because it has such a nice vibe - maybe next time! Service: I like how they course things out with you and change out plates between courses. Your server is never far if you need anything. Overall I was really impressed with Swift & Sons and will be back for sure. Thanks for a great meal!

This was the 50 day dry aged ribeye. It was certainly dry, and overcooked. Sad.

My friend had the Double Wagyu cheeseburger. Everything was relatively good, the steak frites cooked a little too done for me though. The salad, the thick-cut bacon, and the cheeseburger were delicious. I am not a fan of the truffle mac n cheese, but then again I don't really like truffle, so take that into consideration. Brussel sprouts were flavorful but greasy and overcooked... Beef cheek ragu noodle dish was heavy yet tasty.. Rib eye steak done medium rare was fatty and very very chewy so this was a complete fail, but seasoned very well...extra 10 bucks for some dipping sauce for the steak but worth getting to elevate the steak...Definitely don't do any steak under medium here... Lemon sorbet was the true winner of the night...Delicious without being too tart..... Overall like I said, not worth the $250 price tag before tip...._

For starters, we ordered the kimchi pork dumplings and grilled octopus, which both tasted great, but the kimchi flavoring did overpower everything. Our main course included the marinated short rib, wag rib eye, and a5 5 brisket which were all cooked to perfection by our server. However, my experience at Perilla Steakhouse was hands down frustrating. Upon arrival, things were off to a rough start when I could barely hear the server over the music. At times, I felt like our server was rushing us through our meal based on how much less attention he gave us versus the other tables. I'm not someone who needs my glass refilled every minute either to be clear, but things did feel off with how slow our meal was paced out and the general disinterest the server had in us. For reference, we arrived early to a nearly empty restaurant that hadn't started peak dining time yet. I recognize the steakhouse is an upscale, chic take on traditional Korean dishes and I admire the chef for sharing his culture with the city. I also understand restaurants are going to be more expensive, the closer you are located in relation to downtown. Even so, in comparison to other nearby high-end restaurants, the price to portion ratio for our meal felt off. For example, our $16 dumplings included 3 dumplings on a plate. Yes, there's an argument for inflation and the cost of quality ingredients, but I argue that at this price point we shouldn't have left hungry either.

I had seen it previously advertised on TikTok and decided it looked like a nice, upscale dining experience and the perfect mimosa-filled brunch opportunity. Upon coming in at 11 when the location opened, I was already impressed by the beautiful cafe inspired French interior. The warm lighting and refined Parisian details were so beautiful and elegant, and I especially loved the look of the bar, which is a central statement of this restaurant. I chose the French toast breakfast and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs, and we both had mimosas as well! My French toast was light, fluffy, and delicious, definitely a solid choice. My boyfriend was super impressed by the steak and eggs and said it was the best breakfast he had our entire trip! The food itself was great and I would love to come back and try their dinner menu at some point. The service, however, is what truly stood out to me in our experience. Our servers were very helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and speedy. We truly felt taken care of. Fernando was the sweetest and most welcoming, and he immediately made my boyfriend and I feel so welcomed and at home in Chicago. We greatly enjoyed our conversation with him and he even gifted me a coffee table book detailing the history and menu of La Grande Boucherie, which was so kind and such an amazing gesture. Fernando set our experience apart from any other dining experience in Chicago and he made this meal one of our favorites!

Came here last night for dinner with another couple for the first time. While the food was good,…read morethe service was not so I don't think I'll be back. For starters, we had a reservation which I would recommend. We were seated right away and while the place is large inside, I'm not sure what walk-in availability is like. The food: we really enjoyed the octopus, escargot, I had the Filet Mignon Au Poivre, and the banana/coconut entremet. The octopus was tender and flavorful; octopus cooked right (especially in smaller pieces) is hard to find so I was impressed. The escargot was nice and buttery/garlicky, and piping hot. I LOVED my Filet with the green peppercorn cream sauce! It was delicious and my husband was surprised I ate so much of it. It was cooked exactly as I asked, the meat had good flavor, and the sauce was delicious and well balanced + the right consistency. Lastly, the banana and coconut dessert was a pleasant surprise. The banana flavor was fresh (not artificial) and had the right balance of coconut. It was creamy, not too sweet, and had the right balance of textures with the outer coating and the crumble underneath - if you like banana or coconut at all I'd say it's a must order! The creme brulee was just okay. My issue was the service - the table next to ours LIT ON FIRE because a menu was over the top of a candle. After burning half the menu and the fire was getting larger, our partners ran over and put it out with their napkins. They yelled and there was NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the staff at all - at least 2 staff saw and one waiters eyes got big for a minute and she turned away. Not even a thank you from anyone to our partners for putting it out, and they had to ask for new napkins because theirs had black char on them. We were in the middle of enjoying our appetizers and my friend was just digging into her French onion soup from our first round and the staff kept trying to take our plates away. My friend had to tell them 3 times to please leave the soup at the table, and overall made us feel very rushed. We weren't taking a long time to eat at all so felt very weird? When the entrees were dropped on the table, my friend got a steak and they kept trying to give her a butter knife. It took multiple attempts to get the correct knife. Then once we were done eating it took a while to get our plates and old glasses cleared away. Overall service timing was off and their aggressiveness in the beginning of trying to take our plates away + the lack of response to A FIRE in the restaurant was pretty alarming. While I enjoyed the food there, the service was pretty bad and I feel unsafe with the lack of response to a fire in the restaurant so I don't think we'll return.
