So I'm glad we stopped because those are my jam. We walked in and it looked exactly as pictured. Simple, older bar feel. Tables scattered. A few booths. They have a little stage in the back for performances. And darts. They even have a ship wheel which I love cause I'm a nerd. Since we were in a rush we didn't order food, but the menu looked like classic bar food. My friend says she enjoys it, so next time! We weren't really greeted while walking in. There are standing bar areas in between the actual bar and booths around the perimeter. For my dinner, I ordered some appetizers as I wasn't very hungry - Sliders and chicken tenders with an upgrade to garlic parmesan fries. Slider buns were crispy from the griddle. Little Hawaiian buns. The burger sauce kind of tasted like thousand island. Wasn't my favorite but I am not a big fan of anything other than ranch or ketchup. The chicken tenders were a tad dry but I dipped them in sauce and they were fine. Five came to an order. All of the sauces were all good. My Waiter was Brian who was also the bartender. He checked in on me a couple of times. He poured one heck of a strong drink. I was happy as a clam. This is my kind of place. Enjoyed it so much and the convenience of the location that I returned the following evening and ordered the same thing. I was helped by Christie. She was just as professional, attentive and cordial as Brian. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a few beers, and the bartender was fantastic--she let me sample a couple before I picked one, which was really appreciated. The food was great too. I ordered the sliders and mozzarella sticks, and both were delicious. The atmosphere was fun, the service was friendly, and it was the perfect spot to watch soccer with friends. If we're back in Portland, we'd definitely come back!

So I arrived to the Sports Page a little on the hungry side. I got the hummus plate and diet coke. I don't drink much alcohol anymore. I never even thought to get a mocktail. We were telling a friend about mocktails, (she never heard that term before) ordered a mocktail, she let me take a sip, it was so good! Her husband got a shot of creme de cocoa, gave me a sip of that, and that was so good! I will have to explore my options the next time I come here! Karaoke was so fun! So many good singers! I sang one song. I even got a request to do a different song. I will have to practice a little before I attempt any other song!

OMP checked all the boxes and I gotta say they've stepped up their sports bar bona fides: I counted 14 screens spread across the entirety of the place, which is pretty huge now that they added a game room at the back. Anyway it turned out to be a decent call, as I got a great view of the game, cheery service from the staff, and a nice, cool, uncrowded environment (middle of the day and sat inside). Unfortunately they haven't stepped up their food game, and my garden salad felt like it was straight out of a bag, mostly iceberg lettuce and a tomato or two for color. Meatball Sliders were ok, but I'll also cut the OMP a little slack; these were happy hour items AND, it is a pub. This brewery is in a part of Portland we don't usually go to so there were lots of breweries that were new to us to try. Steve and I had lunch here. I saw that they had a pretty deluxe grilled cheese sandwich and that sounded great. With a few different kinds of cheese and tomato this sandwich proved to be more involved than I thought but it was good! Steve and I then shared an order of onion rings... man I haven't had those in a while and they were not disappointing at all. The beer... yes that was what our primary draw was to come here for. I got the the Row 14 which is a rice lager and this particular rice lager was Hopped. It was good! It had that nice graininess that you get with a rice lager in the flavor profile but with it being hopped it's a bit more bitter... a bit more of a bite. It wend good with the meal! We had another Old Market beer. This one was the Dark Ritual which was a dark lager. This was another good, solid beer also. Flavors to enjoy with this one are coffee, maltiness, roastiness, sweet with a smooth body. The restaurant location is cool. It's nice and spacious and comes across as kind of a college hangout (though I don't know if it really is). It also looks like you might even possibly get live music on certain nights. Old Market was a good, solid visit and is worthy of a return.

She and everyone else at this restaurant are absolutely the best. They check in on you but aren't overbearing. We felt very cared for, just like we are old friends! The food was great again - came out fast, fresh and delicious. Our message to the team and owners of Ickabod's - thank you so much for a great experience. Your kindness meant so much to us.
